Character Name: Skylark del Cielo
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 115
Description or Image of Character Appearance: Posted Image

A young girl of seven and ten, Skylark continues to follow the dressing code of her ancestors which is animal pelt, bird's feathers and long flowing hair, however she has upgraded by getting herself heels and some extra modern clothing in case her usual clothing were to get stink or stained and had to wash. Her face can be seen sometimes or most times with a rectangular bandage on her left cheek as means of creating that rebellious punk look though needless to say, it doesn't quite work. Her traditional clothings which she tries to wear all the time (though when not sleeping), consists of fur, feathers, and cloth. She modified the look by taking off the left sleeve so that her usual black sleeved mesh shirt shows off much like the mesh stockings she wears... it's her way of looking 'sexy' apparently. One more thing about her traditional attire: it has an actual rare garnet stone attached to it. It's a top quality garnet stone of deep blood like red passed down from generation to generation, girl after girl, only the eldest of girls can wear them. Skylark takes pride and care of her stone, never leaving sight of it.

Occupation: Student
Grade Level: Third Year; 11th Grade
Powers/ Abilities:

Photomancy

  • Skylark's source of power comes from the sun, the moon, the light of a fire, or even that screen the computer has; however, as much fuel and energy there is, there is so much Skylark can actually absorb into her and how much light energy she can actually convert into her fuel for her powers (that, and perhaps also because her skin is very sensitive to sunlight and prone to sunburns). Throughout her life, she came to the conclusion that her powers were able to be used in combat should the day come and as such as been carelessly preparing herself hence why she now urgently tries to understand and hone her powers. Currently, she is unable to create tiles that are farther than four meters and is unable to fully handle herself in a major battle due to her inexperience and bad stamina and energy consumption. Although the sun is a great source of energy, it causes sunburns and itchy skin; the moonlight however is most benefiting. It boosts her energy consumption and heals her (not much and slow healing) unlike the sunlight.

  • Light as means of offense: Skylark's powers of light can create objects made light such as small tiles, light weaponry like a sword, and... glassy barriers. She keeps her means of attacking to an almost defensive like maneuver when creating objects and tends to only create tiles and even more tiles as barriers to push, pull or 'box' herself in until she comes up with a new plan. Her second means of fighting would be to create light beams, small light rays and her specialty: "Lightning Bomb" as she calls it. Her light beams tend to be big and flashy while her small light rays are concentrated light and potent like lasers although her light rays are power consuming. Her 'Lightning Bomb' is a surprise she cooks up by creating a large orb of light inside a small tile box which she then sends to her enemies (and in order to 'send' her boxed surprise, she needs to be within four meters) in order to temporarily blind them while she either gains the upper hand or flees, whichever is more favorable (though she tends to run from a fight rather than to stick to the fight) If anything, her small light rays which are the size of a finger of hers, is the most powerful weapon she has in her arsenal which needless to say, is quite a short and defensive arsenal. Even so, her rays do consume a lot of energy though the end results are fruitful. A good surprise attack she has been known for, is her Lightning Bomb that have light rays waiting to go off... a nasty little surprise to say the least... burns and cuts are most likely to happen.
  • Light as means of defense: Her defensive maneuvers include but are not limited to 'boxing' herself inside a tile box she created in order to give her time to think of a new plan. Her tiles can serve as barriers that push enemies away from her although her tiles are limited to four meters away from her body. She's not limited to tiles and sometimes creates her own version of 'angelic wings' to fly, or rather, glide her away around though this move consumes energy by the minute. (she can never flap her 'wings' fast enough to fly). When on an energy budget she resorts to using tiles to move around. When it comes to physical fighting, there is only one way she defends herself: By releasing some of her energy on her body and super heating it in order to cause burns or to create a quick flash. This is usually useful whenever she is stuck in a dark area.
  • Rod di Chandra: A family heirloom and relic, the Rod di Chandra is a rod valued in her family and known for its light. This rod usually emits a glowing light must like the moon, because its energy comes from the moon. The Rod di Chandra gives Skylark a small energy consumption boost, boosts her stamina and her dexterity, as well as storing moonlight energy so she could use during the day although the energy reserves are usually used quickly. Other than being a boost, the Rod di Chandra also enables her to use her invisibility when she channels her lightly into the rod and creating a sort of small area of invisibility. This technique isn't so much energy consuming, rather it's more concentration based and it has only been proven to work a duration of three posts to the max, the average being two posts or a post if exhausted. The rod can also give out very tiny amounts of energy in form of healing which isn't much since it can only heal small cuts and scrapes.
  • Moves under development:

    • Beam Bombs: Currently she is working on getting her beams to conserve energy and explode at the touch, much like a bomb. So far, she has only managed to create self destroying bombs that go off as soon as she makes them which is quite counterproductive to say the least.
    • Regeneration: Currently, taking light source in does not seem to heal her or cause regeneration. Perhaps more work is needed to achieve this...

Personality Description:
Skylark can be seen a quiet and tranquil person from afar although once up close she can be the quite the chatterbox. Naturally, she is a very superstitious person and may be somewhat gullible at first but her intellect can sometimes spot deceit and scams a mile away. Skylark loves to read although it's rather funny how she may be too lazy to read a book sometimes, or how sometimes she's too lazy to do anything, no matter how easy the task. She can also be seen as a sweet, kind, and lovable person but there are times when that character may change to a more aggressive but somewhat funny hothead when bothered about her small height or anything related to height. Skylark is also a very curious person, which lands her in many adventures and troubles alike, and is open minded about many things. Skylark can be brave... against her will, but courageous nonetheless and she is able to push herself against any boundaries although along the way it may require a few screams and panic attacks but nothing Skylark can handle right? When in comes to running, jumping and stuff alike, Skylark can become frustrated with herself because... well let's face it, she's a lazy bum who has no stamina or flexibility whatsoever but is currently aspiring to become less lazy and more active. That's another trait of Skylark's... when she aspires to become someone or do something she is determined to accomplish it. Lastly, Skylark can sometimes be seen laying on the ground staring at the sky at night or under the shade of a tree; it's her happy place. She likes to daydream the dreams she can't possibly accomplish in reality and tends to always reach a state of serene happiness in doing so.

Personal History:

Skylark del Cielo was born on a serene midnight in her parent's bedroom where she had been conceived. Her father had been a fisherman before he married the lighthouse keeper's daughter and after their marriage became both the lighthouse keeper and a part time fisherman in order to give his new family all that they would need. At birth, it was apparent Skylark was born with the elusive powers of photomacy just like some of her ancestors before her, but was never raised to learn to control her element and grew up a relatively normal life.
At the age of seven, she began to go on fishing trips with her father after school, along with her brother, Arthur. It was during this time that her grandparents had died and left her behind a traditional dress from their former tribe, a life in a place of cold temperature. As years went by, Skylark and her brother Arthur came to grow up like any normal children, with a mother and father although they were both home schooled after the death of their grandparents. As it turned out, her mother and father, as much as they worked, were in a great debt and were unable to pay their debts with what all the interests... of course there was one way of repaying it all but it involved her inheritance from her grandparents. Both Arthur and herself were named the heirs to a fortune, one of which was enough to repay all their debts and interests but both her mother and father refused to let it all go to their blunder.
One fateful day, Skylark and her brother had been at a friend's house, spending the day just as they had anticipated however, they did not anticipate what would happen next. There was terrible storm that day, and her father had gone out fishing, thinking he would be able to get a bountiful catch and make it to shore but it didn't go as planned. The storm had wrecked his ship against the rocks on the bottom of the cliff where his light house resided, he didn't make it.
The next day, Skylark and her brother came home only to find a welfare agent as well as the collection agency. It was then, that they found out their father had died during the storm and their mother had jumped off the cliff when the collection agents came by. At first, Skylark couldn't believe the death of her father, but came to acknowledge his death when she realized her father was always risking it all to gain it all, but the death of her mother was nothing but a lie, she could feel it. Even so, both their parents were dead, and now they were orphans that would stripped of their inheritance; there must be something they could do.
In order to escape being orphans, the siblings got their stuff together and exited the back door. It was crazy, it was risky, but Skylark and Arthur were determined to be free. At the shore, they found a small boat and took it even though the storm wasn't over, it was a pretty stupid decision made out of brash thinking.
Just like their father, Skylark and Arthur were shipwrecked at sea and separated by the massive waves. During all this, Skylark wished she knew how to use her powers, perhaps then she would have been able to keep herself and her brother alive and together, but sadly that wasn't the case. Skylark was washed up on the shore, miles away from her hometown. A week later, she was shocked to find her mother alive, not that far from where she was washed up but found to her dismay that her brother was missing. Four months passed, and she turned sixteen and for nearly a year both she and her mother have been seeking a place to begin a new life. It wasn't long until her seventeenth birthday came by, and her enrollment in Hyakuji High School began. Surely it was nothing less than a surprise, but her mother found a way. Now, Skylark embarks on a new journey and life, though never forgetting her past... there's something strange, a strange air or feeling she can't shake off.
