Despite the uncomfortable look on his face the mouthgaurd gave him, Mike remained fairly calm as the green magic rained down on them. He figured he had to be if he wanted to get the aim right. Holding his shield out to absorb Seth's torpedo attacks as they came he quickly redirected them at double force towards various parts of their enemy.... in particular, both its arms and its head. He was hoping to distract or disengage it long enough for Natasha to spot a clear shot of the orb containing blue symbols, and take it.

As the malicious barrage came down from the arcane symbol overhead, Mike grunted. With his other hand extended above his head, he was creating a second shield at certain intervals to absorb the force of the symbol's attack and store it all for later.

Once the bolts made contact with his shield, it glowed red and the attacks dissipated into thin air. Although he took no damage from the explosions themselves, he was eventually distracted by them causing him to drop his expression -- and drop his shield.

"Sh--"

He only had half a second to look the fifth of Seth's stalactites, flying towards him at incredible speed and power before it bowled him right over. It sent him into both the floor and surrounding stalagmites, the resulting collision causing dust and rumble to create a mist around the area.

...If he died right here and then, he wouldn't blame Seth. He'd blame Fuu for locking that equipment shed door.

"What the fu-" I told you, right? Something bad was bound to happen. Keep this in mind, next time, don't ever ever ever aim a giant rock spike at an ally like a torpedo unless you're very frikkin' sure they have tank-like defenses. V ruffled his head in frustration at how such a simple little distraction could have meant a loss for pretty much everything they're attempting to accomplish. Pinching his forehead, he turned around to the swirling orb at the air inside the gym floating right above them. That's the cause, that's the reason, that's the power, that's the weakness. He had no idea what had happened in such a short amount of time, he had no frikkin clue why everything had happened, he had no real intention of delaying anything any further because this was seriously starting to drag. And neither of the two was helping much, by being unconscious or by being preoccupied with being defensive.

"Looks like we just have to finish everything ourselves," Seth said in a matter-of-factly tone, though V was pretty sure he didn't need anyone telling him that. Here's another example of why he would never rely much on others. If you want things done, you just have to do it yourself. Right then, any ideas on how to finish this thing?

Seth looked around, pondering for something that might be useful in finishing the job. And his eyes fell on the giant warhammer. Wait, you're not thinking what I think you're thinking, now are you? "Think that'd work?" He said, pointing at the warhammer.

Suit yourself, kid.

Awh hell no.

His plan? Run up to the warhammer, grab it, jump up there and swing the warhammer as hard as he could on the whatever-orb. That's the plan anyway, as he began leaping right at the demonic looking weapon, sidestepping the dead-looking dude from earlier who seemed too preoccupied with the swirly thing up above. Maybe he could perhaps test it on the dude first?

He had no idea just how wielding that thing would feel, but surely it won't be that much different than wielding a normal sledgehammer, right?

The overwhelming majority of the projectiles met their mark, smearing the glowing creature across the gym floor in an instant. All that was left of the thing was chunks of black, glowing meat, and a huge 'splat' of black and green fluids.
With the threat gone, Natasha was finally able to focus on her objective. The nightmare was finally coming to an end; all that was left was the final blow. But it came with a cost. One of the students was hit by a stalactite; Natasha was unsure if he was still alive, but his sacrifice nonetheless greatly moved her. She glided towards the orb, then stalled herself on purpose in front of it. With both of her arms stretched out, Natasha fired two flares at the symbols with a delay between them. The first flare barely managed to hit the symbols, but the second was nearly perfect on mark.
As a result the symbols imploded, and several effects took place. Time itself seemed to slow down to nearly a crawl, and gravity seemed to be significantly reduced. The phenomena left Natasha suspended in the air, as if she were in zero gravity. At first Natasha did not mind it; it had to mean a good thing, right?
Then there was a dreaded roar, which immediately grasped her attention. There was no trouble spotting it; the creature's upper torso had regenerated, leaving its body totally glowing green. But how?! That thing was grounded up, and the orb was destroyed!

Once the dust cleared it revealed the messy lump of a body that was Mike, laying on the floor of the basket ball court.

It would seem the battle had turned in their favor. Seth had taken into possession the warhammer and could now use it against their opponent, and Natasha scored a direct hit to the ominous orb.... But the threat should have been eliminated now it had been destroyed. And yet the tall blind monster stood there, regenerating itself bit by bit.

Mike's body started to stir. A very small and weak moment at first, but soon he rolled over his shoulder and was now laying on his back.... with the widest grin across his face.

He rose slowly, grabbing his stomach. Then started bounding with newfound energy towards the glowing regenerating torso, with his fist balled and ready to deliver one hell of a V sized punch.

Mike's punch sent the creature sprawling in the air, causing it to crash into one of the gym's walls. Natasha strained her eyes to see if it was still alive, but the effects caused by the destruction of the symbols increased. In addition to those effects her vision became distorted, as if she were being pulled back by some unseen force. A white light slowly started to engulf the area, and for a moment Natasha thought she was dying. This was how death was like? Slow and blurry? The only thing she regretted at that moment was not knowing the students' names. Then everything went black.

Natasha stirred on the ground for a moment, then slowly opened her eyes. She was surprised to find that she was still alive, but was even more surprised to find that she, along with the other two students, were back next to the equipment shed. The symbol that had haunted the sky was now gone, along with the suffocating twilight. Everything seemed to be back to normal, as if the whole event the trio went through was nothing more than a nightmare. Well, save for the equipment shack's doors. They were still broken.
After sitting up from the ground Natasha held her breath, hoping that the shadows would not return to haunt her. When it became clear that they were gone, she sighed in relief. Her hands were still rather cold from discharging the flares, but she could care less. They were alive, and that was all that mattered.
"It's...It's finally over, isn't it?" asked Natasha as she stared at her trembling hands. It would be awhile before she would be completely calmed down, at least by herself.

The three students laid there in the grass, with dirt sticking to their sweat and their heads meeting in the middle, the soothing evening sky stretched for miles above them. Mike was breathing heavy and fast with his bright eyes looking wide awake for the first time in a long time. It only began to slow when he heard Natasha sit up beside him. She was the first one to speak.

"..." Mike continued to lay there, his shirt slightly askew revealing small section of his heavily bruised waistline... But the guy was shaking his head with a faint smile, still in disbelief. "Either that or we're dead." He answered, not meaning to frighten her.

Suddenly footsteps could be heard running towards the equipment shed, and a ganguro girl stood over their heads and into their view, blocking out the sky. She had two baseball mitts in one hand and a baseball in the other.

"Hey! When you gypsies are done looking up at the big ol' sky, I'd like to go get a little something called Dinner! I'm starved, ya know?!"

Then as quick as a fox, Mike sat up and hugged Fuu's long legs tightly. Pressing his head against the side of her thigh.

"KYAAA!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH Y-Y-"

"Fuu, we could see everything from down there." He explained, waiting for Seth to get up. He nodded to Natasha weakly, hoping she could excuse this awkward show. "W-would you like to... If you don't have anything to... or spare time... I was thinking you might want ...... nevermind."

"Oh girl, aren't you cute. Come eat with us, lets get to know each other. I'll shout today, eheh!" She leaned over Mike and peered at Seth's head. "Oi. You in, BACKBONE*-kun?"

For the majority of the conversation Natasha remained quiet. She restrained her role as a simple observer, for she did not want to disturb a conversation between strangers. Indeed, she still considered herself as a stranger to them. What they had gone through was no more than a coincidence, a batch of drifting leaves that had collected in the corner. The idea slightly displaced Natasha's mood. Sure, they were alive. That was certainly good. But nothing had changed. Everything was still the s-
"W-would you like to... If you don't have anything to...or spare time..."
Natasha's mood totally swung around. Was the person giving an invitation? A chance to make new friends? Before she could reply, the student continued. "I was thinking you might want ...... nevermind." Natasha could not blame him. Perhaps he was still recovering from the battle? She was still satisfied with his attempt, taking it as a good omen of sorts.
At the girl's invitation Natasha was stunned for a moment. The student was certainly loud, but still...she was being friendly. "Um...s-..sure!" replied Natasha as she nodded her head. God must have heard her wish! A chance to make new friends in a strange, foreign land; a chance that should not be wasted. If her parents saw her now they would be proud, and perhaps even cheer her on!
For the first time since the chaos unfolded, Natasha smiled.

End of the story?

Not yet.

It's not like he didn't want to move, it's more like he couldn't move. It's not like the warhammer was too heavy he couldn't swing it. No, it wasn't a physical burden. Rather, it's a mental one. That was seriously oppressing his mind to the point where he couldn't even think about even breathing, let alone to lift the warhammer. The gargantuan weapon in his hand was spiked with demonic energy on incomprehensible level. The cry of agony of the tortured souls within the warhammer were pounding violently on his mind, crushing it little by little that one could simply assume it's now nothing more than a goop of jellified grey matter-

The indignant cry of a ditzy panty-flashing girl brought him back to earth, knocking him out completely from his stupor and the grasp of the darkness emanating from the warhammer itself. His eyes returned back to it's full shine after spending all this time missing all the high-octane action whatever staring at the ominous warhammer. "Uh, um..." He stammered for a while, trying to find his tongue before he could properly say in his usual cheerful voice, "Um, sure! The more the merrier!"

How could he say that, when his head was still being pounded by the agonizing cries of the tortured souls within the warhammer? Perhaps he should just leave this thing...

Hey, let's bring this thing back to the store room.

One could just imagine how absurd his suggestion was by the look Seth was giving to V. "Wait, what? Are you crazy? This thing is full of dark energy! Don't you know just how dangerous this thing could possibly be-"

I know, that's why I told you to bring it back. Believe in my killer instinct. It's never wrong.

Seth went silent after that, reluctantly complying to the request. He slung the warhammer on his shoulder, buckling slightly at just how heavy the weapon was despite it's unimpressive size.

He wanted to trust V's judgement, but he hadn't realized that he would regret it sooner or later.

Perhaps he didn't realize just how happy V sounded moments before, as he had been relived of a long lost ecstatic sensation that somehow felt very very homely to him. The long dormant killer persona of meta-virus V stirred after a long long slumber.
