For a moment Natasha wondered if she was having a nightmare. However, her hand was still slightly numb from the spell casting, eliminating the possibility that she was actually in deep slumber. So if she wasn't dreaming, then just what was going on here? Natasha hoped that there would be answers soon, even if there was a huge possibility that she would not like them. On the other hand, she was intimidated by the appearance of the young man. It wasn't his odd clothing or the painfully suspicious war hammer that made her nervous. There was something about him that Natasha found...sinister. Such a thing would be called an 'aura', but she lacked the knowledge to deduce such a concept. "Um...Do you think that it's possible that he's...related to what's happening?" Natasha quietly questioned in a nervous tone. In the meantime the young man started to mutter to himself again. "Report: Transmission received. Objective: Sierra One Three Two. Secondary Objective: Two civilians, unknown class. Warning: Potential threat." He grabbed his crimson war hammer and lifted it off the ground with surprisingly relative ease, as if it were nothing more than a plastic prop from a movie set. "Files Victor, Golf, and Oscar disengaged. Proceeding with Protocol Zero One with attachment file #Hotel engaged at 50%." The young man then stood with his war hammer in one hand, once again waiting for something to happen. At this point Natasha instinctively tightened her grip around Seth out of nervousness; it was not tight enough to choke him, but noticeable nonetheless. The way the young man spoke in a mechanical matter sent chills down her spine. Just what on earth was he, and what was he intending to do? |

Mike stopped mid-stride as soon as Seth urged him to not to go any further. Calmly folding his long arms in front of him he voiced deeply and slowly, "... Put down your weapon." Although he made this demand, at the moment Mike didn't look like he was going to back it up with any sort of fighting skill, or... rock tossing finesse. The stranger looked dangerous, as people decked out in leather tend to be, but Mike wasn't the type to make the first strike in anything. If a brawl could be avoided with any student, then Mike was the kind who was keen on talking or walking. He raised a brow and watched him murmur monotone nonsense, wondering if the boy was on drugs. He glanced back over his shoulder at Seth and Natasha, before facing the boy under the green orb. He didn't seem to be picking up the 'bad vibes' the other two seemed to be feeling. And that might very well be his first mistake. "We're here to help." |

He held his breath. Mike didn't move any further than that. The girl on his shoulder was starting to burden him, but he didn't dare to let her down for some reason. A heavy atmosphere weighed down on all of them. Tick, tock, tick, tock, the time passed, though there was no clock around at the moment, which only served to intensify the unpleasant heavy feeling. Glares were exchanged between the four occupants of the gym, with only a single odd one out. Nothing moved, nothing stirred, nothing happened. Short, the time was, as every single thing that had happened in this room was described. It hasn't even been three seconds. He wasn't even sure if even one second has passed. A bead of sweat dripped from his forehead, down his cheek to his chin, and dropped to the floor. Who knows, it could be anti-climatic. |

An arc of green light emitted from the orb and began to collect into a cloud around the young man, as if it were attracted to him in a way. Obviously this was a bad sign, but what did it mean? Such an answer came rather suddenly; the green light, which seemed to be previously calm, became turbulent and pierced into the young man's body all at once, as if it were imploding. He silently staggered for a moment as black substance, presumably blood, splurted from his wounds. Natasha shut her eyes and looked away, unable to bear the gruesome sight. But she could still hear the churning of the young man's muscles, the squishes and splatters being made. It was sickening, like a gruesome horror movie made by a twisted mind. The young man's body violently expanded, as if he were exploding. However, emerging from what was once his body was a black humanoid creature. Its body was covered in odd ritual marks that were glowing green, and seemed to be lacking half of a face. The only things that were on his head were a pair of pointed ears and a mouth; a rather large one at that, with large, razor-sharp teeth that looked like small daggers. Only the crimson war hammer remained to be the same, which remained within the creature's grasp. At this point Natasha took a quick glance at the creature, but immediately regretted it. It was more horrifying than the other creatures previously encountered, despite the fact that this one remained silent. In fact, this creature was more horrifying to her because it remained silent. And so she could not help but whisper a small and painfully simple question to the person carrying her. "W-.......what is that thing?" That was a mistake. A very, very bad mistake. The black creature's head snapped into facing towards where Natasha's voice had come from and started to walk towards her and the student carrying her, dragging the crimson war hammer along with it. It somehow was able to walk around the stalagmites as the grinding of the war hammer against the ground continued. Although painfully slow, it was nonetheless coming closer to the two; it ignored the other as if he did not exist. |

"N-NO!" The atmosphere quickly took a horrific plunge as the boy in leather gruesomely morphed into a creature out of this world, and locked on to Seth and Natasha. Mike stared passed all of its creepy faces and looked it straight in the... well... the place where the eyes should be. There was not a hint of fear showing on his face as it began to drag itself ominously to the pair. However, his hands were trembling furiously. Clenching his fists in order to reduce the amount of tremors, he overtook the creature and rejoined the other two. Then, he put his hand on Seth's shoulder and on Natasha's head, pulling them close. "Please keep your limbs inside the ride at all times." He warned. For a big intimidating guy, he suddenly looked extremely impassive or disappointed at something once he pursed his lips and created straight line for a mouth. In the blink of an eye, it looked like a glowing force field sprung out from his body and engulfed the entire group in a protective bubble. No attacks could get in. No attacks could get out. This should buy them some time. "..." He couldn't speak or else their protective shield would drop. He hoped that the others could understand that too.

"Geh!" His only free arm was held up to block his face from being splattered with the fleshy black goop-y remains of the, uh... random scary hammer-wielding dude as he, um... exploded. Seriously, that dude just went boom. It wasn't a pleasant sight, and he was glad he had his sight blocked by his armawh. Awh hell no. The aftermath of that little shenanigans was a whole lot worse. Like a demon summoned directly from the realm of shadows itself, which... really, he couldn't explain it much. But then again, it doesn't look that menacing or scary. Physically anyway. No, the fact that really made it a tab more terrifying than the dude from before was the dark demonic aura that it exudes. It was nearly overwhelming, that even V with his natural killer instinct couldn't overpower the sensation. "Hey... are you sure it's wise to just... stand here?" Seth turned to Mike, flicking away the black goop-y flesh off from his arms. His face might have been spared, but he needs some new clothes for now. Somehow he's pretty sure that standing still was never the best way to avoid a fight. |

Natasha believed that the tall student knew what he was doing. Odd, considering that she only met him only a few minutes ago. But that was how she was, gullible and all... The creature approached the field, halting only a couple meters away from the group. It slowly raised the war hammer into the air with both hands, preparing to strike. Natasha flinched, unsure whether the shield would withstand the blow or not. She did not know the true of the shield, but she was about to find out very shortly. The creature opened its mouth, but nothing audible came out. It brought down the hammer towards the shield in a vertical chopping motion; the force generated by it was comparable to that of a semi-truck driving downhill on a highway in West Virginia with a fully loaded trailer. In other words, it was going to be one hell of a blow. Of course, Natasha couldn't help but scream for a moment. A big hammer was coming down on top of them; what else could she do? |

The reason why Natasha believed in Mike so quickly and easily was possibly because he answered Seth's question with a sagely nod without any hesitation whatsoever. But there was no arguing it was a tight fit in the protective bubble, with Mike having to lean slightly over the two. Any and all black liquid substances that Seth had flicked off his clothes and hit the force field cause the area to flash red and those black specks to come flying back at the boy in perhaps double-time. As Natasha screamed a piercing sound, the strength of Mike's kinetic force-field faltered, flickering dangerously on and off all while the behemoth hammer came barreling down towards them. At the last second Mike maintained the correct facial expression on his face in order to keep the shield up. Despite how powerful and impressive the monster's swing was, it connected almost as silently as the roar that escaped the creature's mouth earlier. There was a pause that lasted for a fraction of a second, before a red glow swept over the shield and erupted, casting the hammer back towards the creature with double the torque it had brought on its way down. Worth comparing to not one, but TWO semi-trucks, driving downhill on a highway in West Virginia with a fully loaded trailer, driving one behind the other and speeding. Mike was never one to make the first move. But he was always determined to have the last laugh.

The sheer force of the blow would have certainly delivered a quick, painless yet 'messy' death for the trio. But such a tragedy would not happen; with the student's bright blue field, the crimson war hammer was instantly repulsed upon making contact. In fact, the hammer flew back at the creature with twice the force it previously had. As a result the large weapon tore through one of the creature's shoulders with relative ease, scattering bits and chunks of black flesh along with black goo about the place, as well as an arm. It continued its destructive course, smashing through any stalagmites that happened to be in its path. The scene was quite a spectacle, especially for Natasha. Specifically speaking, she was horrified by what she had just witnessed. The screaming shadows, the glowing creature, the gruesome gore...all of them were factors that were contributing Natasha's accumulating stress. And with immense amounts of stress, an involuntary action always had the tendency of occurring; her large, angel-like wings would sprout out against her will. Natasha could still see that they were still in the shield. Having her wings come out with the blue field active would certainly bring about a disaster, so she tried her best to retain them. As a result, however, her back began to ache, as if there were nails being pulled out of her back. "M-my wings...they're about to come out!" warned Natasha as she winced at the intense pain. She also added, "A-and..they're huge." It would not be long before the stress would overpower her own will. In the meantime the creature had wandered off after its weapon. Unlike the previous shadow creatures, this creature in particular regenerated in a different style; its missing arm was being replaced by green energy similar to that of the overhead orb. The creature's back was facing the trio, revealing several bright, pulsating green orbs located all over its back. It was far out of reach at this point, but the details were noticeable nonetheless. |

Natasha was panicing but Mike remained stern faced as the warhammer caused a terrible path of destruction behind it. There was a certain blood thirsty wrinkle in his eyes as he watched the creature's arm drop right off. But he never factored or took into account how dangerous it really was to be having such a powerful heavy object flying recklessly through the air. Where would it land? Who could it have landed on? All these thoughts caused a pang of guilt in his stomach, while stalagmites were trembling and crumbling down. As long as they weren't falling from right on top of them, Mike deemed it safe for him to disengage the sheild and let Natasha's wings emerge without any obstructions. Hang on a minute, did she just say wings? ... So this girl can fly...? "You've got to let them come out!" He barked at her after grabbing both her shoulders and looking at her straight in the eye, noticing how her face scrunched up in pain. Without wasting time, he pulled a hand off her body and pointed to the green orb hovering overhead and faced Seth, "Try attacking that!" Edited by bambi, Apr 15 2011, 06:05 AM.

Wings? What do you mean, wings? Don't tell me you're actually part bird or something. Well, that was what he would have said if it wasn't for the fact that he was actually concerned for her somehow pained state. He let her down to the floor, holding her shoulder to keep her stable. Or something. Whatever. "Somehow, I'm pretty sure it's all because of that," He said, glaring at the floating green orb up above. Well, it couldn't have been any less obvious. Seriously, strange foreign material that looked important, what else could be the source of this? "You really don't have to tell me twice. I'm sick of all these supernatural stuff," V barked, folding up his sleeves as the bubble shield was dropped. He raised his hand, keeping his palm open like a knife before swinging it to the closest stalagmite/stalactite, slicing off the pointy tip in a crude rocky fashion. He grabbed it, pulled back like a pitcher and, "STRIKE THREE, YOU'RE OUT!!!" threw it at the green orb at high speed, the black hardened goo rock thing flying like an oversized bullet. And it's just as fast as a normal bullet (well, not really, but it's still pretty dang fast). Edited by Fin, Apr 16 2011, 08:35 AM.

When the huge chunk of black substance collided with the green orb, it left a large, gaping hole as a result. With that, the trio could have a perfect view of what was inside; a somewhat small, dark blue "ball" of rotating symbols which glowed with a strong vibrancy, giving the impression that its power was immense. The creature halted in its pursue for the crimson war hammer and turned to face the orb, as if it could sense the disturbance. As Natasha finally let out her wings, the pain that was previously plaguing her subsided, and in its place was a soothing feeling of relief. The angelic wings themselves appeared rather suddenly, creating a small, harmless gust of wind around her. She gently flapped them several times out of nervousness, and then diverted her attention to the orb and the sphere of symbols within it. "S-so you want me to...attack that, right?" asked Natasha as she slightly blushed and pointed at the damaged orb. The thought of flying made her uneasy, as she was still rather inexperienced with such a thing, and was expected to also attack in midair. It would be a difficult move, but it was worth a try. "I..I understand!" stated Natasha as she attempted to look somewhat confident. She was not one to let people down, especially when they needed her help. With that, Natasha flapped her wings several times to lift herself up in the air. She started to soar around the room in a corkscrew fashion, slowly climbing in altitude to close the distance between herself and the orb. Of course, she also was careful to not elevate too much, as she kept in mind that the ceiling was covered in stalactites. When Natasha felt that she was high enough, she began to fly in a simple circle around the orb. As she caught sight of the hole in the orb she took a deep breath, and then held one of her arms up. When the symbols entered her field of vision, Natasha took a moment to aim as best as she could, and then fired a flare at it. The flare was off by several inches, however, and instead of destroying the symbols, it created a small hole on the other side of the orb. A miss. Natasha was disappointed with herself for a moment, but resumed her flight. A second attempt at the symbols was in need, and she was determined to carry it out, even if it was going to bring her more pain. When she was on her second pass around the orb, Natasha increased her distance with it. She would have to fly directly towards the hole if she were to use her other arm, as the current direction she was flying in contradicted with the arm's field of fire. Just as Natasha made her advancement towards the hole, the creature unexpectedly roared and swung its energy arm in a general direction towards Natasha. Part of the arm shot off toward her and formed into a deadly bolt of magic, which was probably about half a meter long. Natasha quickly responded by forming a magic barrier, which absorbed the green bolt as if it were nothing. The attack was enough to distract her, however, and she resumed a circular flight path around the orb. Since when could it throw magic?! This new factor troubled Natasha; she would have to quickly act before the creature would completely overload her barrier. 1/3 posts toward Overload |

His clothes fluttered about as Natasha took off and he even found the time to appreciate how beautiful the whole process of flight appeared. Snapping back to what was going on around him was not hard to do when the creature let out a roar. Part of its arm detached and launched itself at her and left Mike surprised. Part of him even cursed inside, wishing he could do something. But it was all up to Natasha now. He tapped Seth on the shoulder and took great strides backwards.... Or at least he hoped it was still Seth. Fuu told him that she'd read in Seth's WDA file about a parasite or schizophrenia or something. One of the two. It would explain why the kid was so well mannered one moment, and vulgar the next. "That was good, do it again!" He told V, holding both hands out and flicking his fingers back towards himself..... .... Sooo... he wanted V to throw a hunk of stalagmite at him with at bone crushing force? "And keep 'em coming." He suddenly pursed his lips again and the shield spring up in a hemi-sphere in front of him. Mike cocked his head and raised his brows, hoping the guy got it. Mike was going to redirect the chucks of rock with double the force that Seth could hurl them at, aiming strictly towards the behemoth creature. With Mike acting somewhat as a catapult and Seth being the person to load it, hopefully this would stun the enemy long enough for Natasha to get a clean shot at the magic ominous symbols.

So... Mike wanted him to lob a few of those rocks at him? Ain't that a somewhat contradictory decision in regards to the current event? However everything was explained in a single move made by Mike as he formed a hemispherical barrier in front of him. Seth/V wasn't sure what he was up to, but surely he's up to something. In that case... "Don't blame me if you die!" He yelled, rearing back his body and, using as much force as he could put into his arms, he immediately flung one gigantic stalactite/stalagmite right towards Mike, with the projectile looking more like a torpedo than anything else. He sure hoped that whatever Mike had up his sleeve, it would hold up to yet ANOTHER of those stalagmite/stalactite flying right towards him. Simply put, Seth had flung no less than three, four, five of those makeshift torpedoes right towards Mike. Edited by Fin, Apr 20 2011, 11:23 PM.

As if it knew that its pray had not faltered, the creature once again waved its arm. However, instead of another magic bolt, a large, arcane symbol appeared. Its diameter was roughly two meters, and the symbol it self was slowly rotating clockwise. When Natasha was on her third pass around the orb, she immediately spotted the symbol. It gave her a sinking feeling as she silently guessed what its purpose was. Probably offensive, from the looks of it. Her guess would be correct. The symbol suddenly spun counter-clockwise at a tremendous speed, and from it shot forth random bolts of green magic. Bolts of green magic flew about, much like the spread of a buckshot. Although seemingly random, most of them were aimed at general direction towards Natasha, rather than the other two students. In response Natasha defensively deployed another barrier, which effectively absorbed the bolts that would have hit her. However, the bolts that managed to bypass her exploded like flak. She remained unharmed, but the blasts had shaken her. Another barrage would certainly leave Natasha defenseless, a fact that she reluctantly knew. 2/3 posts towards overload |
