It was another snow-plagued afternoon at Hyakuji High; cold, wet and just about unbearable to be wandering about in. The lack of students present enforced the truthfulness of the latter, though it was obvious that school hours were already over for the day. And so it explained why a single student, Natasha Tokarev, wasn't all that nervous on her first and personal tour of the school grounds. She was accustomed to the cold; such weather was common on Sakhalin, the island she had been born and raised on. Despite this, however, she was wearing a light blue winter jacket, along with a black scarf. Her short, brown pleated skirt accompanied by black stockings reflected on her resilience to the cold.
Natasha was walking along the running track, thinking of what she would cook for dinner when she saw a blur of a shadow in her peripheral vision, near some equipment shacks. Well, to be more blunt she thought she saw something, but was not sure if it was an illusion or actually something. So she did the most rational thing she thought she could do; she froze and stared at the spot where the blur had been.
"Is...is someone there?" Natasha nervously asked, even though she unsure if she would receive an answer. The serenity she had a few moments ago was instantly shattered, and a small bubble of anxiety had started to surface in its place.

Bam!

BamBAM!

BAAMMM!!!

"UuuaaAAH!!"

All of a sudden the door to the equipment shack broke apart, as though a battering ram had, uh... rammed through it from the inside. Well, technically it was a battering ram, if you can use a human body as one. The double doors flung outside with a considerable amount of force, to the point where it rebounded on the wall besides it. The doorknobs was completely pulverized, and the doors themselves were heavily damaged, bent in half with a dude-sized dent on them.

Directing our attentions away from the door and to the one who caused it. "Ooowww..." Seth was lying there on the ground, in his usual black sweater and khaki-colored cargo pants, clutching his shoulder where he had rammed it on the door of the equipment shack. "Who the heck locked it from outside...?" He said, rubbing his sore scapula.

Apparently, a while back when he was assigned to stow away some of the sports equipment, someone smart and insightful decided to be nice and lock the door for him. He'd have appreciated it if it wasn't for the fact that he was STILL in the room. So yeah, in a desperate attempt to get out, he had resorted to... uh... desperate measure, and just smash his way out. Goodness, like the school hasn't had enough money problem.

Further ways away there was a pair of students, despite rain hail or shine, both wearing heavy coats over their Hyakuji uniforms and each with a leather mitt on the hand they didn't throw with. The tall one was staring with raised eyebrow's at the commotion going on in the shed.

"Fuu, did you lock that door?"

"Wha? Oh! Yup!! Eheh! -- Its okay! The P.E teacher gave me the key, see~?" Fuu replied cheerfully, reaching into her cleavage and plucking out a tiny set of keys. "Too much equipment has gone missing lately, ya know?" She adjusted the flower behind her hair and took a catching stance. But then she quickly straightened up out of it, furrowing her brow and shouting, "Hey! Where are you goooooing?!"

The image of Fuu waving about grew smaller and smaller as he discarded his catching mitt on the base, and left.

Stuffing his hands in the pockets of his Parker and popping up the hood, Mike calmly strode towards the scene only to spot a statuesque young lady standing over by a beaten up shed. And who else than his teeny tiny roomate, Seth, lying on the ground.

"..." He stared through his rimless glasses. The tall guy soon bent down and extended a hand from his pocket. "Dude."

While the awkward scene played out, Natasha simply watched in shock. For whatever reason there was, a student apparently had been trapped inside one of the shacks. She was deciding whether to help the young or to look for help, but then restrained herself when another man, who was strikingly tall, arrived and offered his help to the shorter student.
With the company of others, one would have guessed that Natasha would have calmed down by now. The problem was that the shadow she had seen was between the equipment shacks. Whatever was there was probably still lurking about, and just thinking about it made Natasha more nervous, despite present company. Something about it was off; it could have been a cat or something like that, but she had a deep, uncertainty that wouldn't go away.
And then it happened.
Somewhere in the distance a prolonged and eerie, inhuman howl emitted. One would have thought that it sounded like a creature from another realm, for it was a completely new and very unpleasant sound to Natasha's ears. As the howl continued, the sky over the athletic field became heavily overcast in mere seconds. Walls of sinister-looking shadows appeared out of thin air and materialized around the general area. From a strategic viewpoint, one could have concluded that they were trapped; as for what reason, that had yet to be deduced.
At this point Natasha wasn't nervous. She was terrified. In fact, she was terrified to the point where she flew (not literally) over to the two students and huddled close to the taller student.
"W-w-w-what's happening?!" exclaimed Natasha as her body trembled in fear. The presence of the other students slightly comforted her; after all, they were also in the same situation.

"..." Mike pulled one hand off his ear and looked up at the overcast sky.

What was happening? That's what HE wanted to know. He eyed his roommate suspiciously, wondering if he would have had anything to do with this. No. Can't have been. Sure that little guy was weird sometimes, but Mike knew him to be a good kid.

As a potential threat was unfolding in front of their eyes, Mike attempted to look over his shoulder to see where Fuu was in all this mess. But he was stilled by the sudden appearance of the girl who was now standing right beside him. He wasted no time, hauling Seth up to his feet before turning and planting his feet on the ground in one fluid motion.

"Back to back!" He declared to the two, facing the sinister black shadows that surround them with a faint look of uneasiness.

Not exactly sure of what's going on all of a sudden, he was immediately pulled up to his feet by Mike. The sky suddenly went dark and a loud rumble could be heard overhead. He glanced around, realizing that they were now surrounded by black shadow creatures from the real of darkness. Well, not that he had any idea what the hell those stuff are, but this is really quite, what's that you call it... nostalgic?

"Hm... sure brings back memories, huh?" He said as a matter-of-factly, but it was clear that he was far from his comfort zone. Last time he had been in this situation he barely came out of it alive. So it's unthinkable that he'd be calm after having to relive those unpleasant memories. Taking Mike's advice he turned around, keeping his back covered by the other two who hopefully had enough firepower to take on the entire horde. Right, so perhaps Mike might be able to take them on, but what about the girl? He couldn't remember ever seeing her before in Hyakuji.

So damn, now they have an innocent civilian all caught up in the everyday lives of this city. "So, uhm... what's your name?" He called out to the girl behind him over his shoulder.

As Natasha joined the formation, she quietly prayed that they would come out of this situation alive. She flinched at the shorter student's question; it was the least of her expectations of questions.
"N..Natasha...Natasha Tokarev," replied Natasha in a hushed voice.

The shadows, which appeared to be like turbulent clouds, started to wail in unison. Natasha covered her ears and crouched with her eyes shut; it was clear that she was scared out of her wits. As the shadows continued with their 'chorus', they started to revolve around the three students at a quickening pace. When it seemed that they could no longer revolve faster, they suddenly froze in place; it was if someone had paused a video. And then the shadows collapsed to the ground, and slowly converged at three specific points, each in front of a student. As the shadows combined three large, humanoid shadows took shape. Their appearance was intimidating, as was the low pitched breathing that sounded like a diseased lion. When the formation was complete, they held out their arms before them and slowly waved them around, as if they were trying to feel something for something they couldn't see. They also started to cock their heads at an odd angle, and after a few seconds they would quickly cock their heads in the opposite site. As a result, it caused their shoulders and upper chests to shake in a disturbing manner.

...

In the meantime a large, luminous white symbol formed in the overcast sky, which saturated the athletic field in an eerie twilight. Natasha stood up, despite the fact that her knees were uncontrollably trembling. The other students were expecting her to fight, or so she was assuming. And so she did her best to remain quiet, and tried to avoid thinking of any possible negative outcomes of this event.

He felt a chill. You would have to be a stone cold prick to not have felt something after this sort of encounter. But he stood his ground as the creatures revealed themselves right in front of each person. Mike tried looking at it straight in this creature's white void eyes, but then he noticed it started to perculate as if it stuck a fork in a toaster.

He barely dodged one of their randomly swinging arms, as it swooped right in front of his chest. As he stepped back he felt Natasha's shoulder up against his..

He remained silent. He didn't want to say anything that would disrupt this paused video. But he also knew they had to get out of this mess without ending up as shadow-chow. Although they seemed hostile, he wasn't going to make the first move to find out.

Meanwhile, on the baseball field, Fuu was standing and looking up at the sky and the twilight shining down on her, reminiscent of an alien abduction.

"WOW WOW WOW! The sky's so pretty tonight~!" She sang.

"Don't look very friendly now, do they?" he muttered as three humanoid figures formed from the combination of all the little dark shadow creatures that had surrounded and circled around them like a merry-go-round moments earlier. He could feel chills rnning down his spine as the shadowmen groaned and twitched around, making him feel slightly uncomfortable by their erratic movement. He stood his ground, however, looking around for any escape route. Well, with only three of those surrounding them it should be easy to find one. But somehow, something tells him that they really shouldn't be moving at all from their current position, and wait until a better opportunity arrives.

But waiting have always been a bad idea.

The main point here is to not let things go the way your enemy likes it. Make things go your way! "Stay sharp, you two!" V yelled to his companion. Then, without any hesitation he raised his foot up high, and slammed it hard to the ground, causing a large slab of the earth to jump out from it's slot in the ground. In one swift motion he grabbed the rock and immediately threw it like a powerful slingshot at the shadowmen nearest to him. "Come on, we're bailing out of here!" He didn't wait to see whether the rock did his job, as he immediately preceded the flying chunk of earth. Even if it doesn't hit, he'll just lariat his way out.

For a moment the creatures seemed to be fixated on something else in the distance, and strained their heads as if they were hearing something. One of them even started to walk off. But when one of the students smashed the ground, the creatures instantly returned their attention to the group and roared in response. The student threw a slab of earth at one of the creatures; it seemed to be oblivious, and was smashed into two pieces. The lower half remained standing, while the torso seemed to drift around in midair, as if it were in a tank of water.
One of the other monsters that was closer to the group slowly walked towards the taller student, and had its arms posed for an attack. Natasha stepped in between the student and the creature, for she had started to view the students at this point somewhat as friends. And she always protected her friends.
"Stay..Stay away!" she cried as she stuck out her small arms. She supported the wrist of one arm with the hand of the other arm, as if she was anticipating a blast of sorts. The creature continued with its advance, ignoring Natasha's ultimatum. With no more plausible options, she proceeded to cast an Azure Flare.
With the fingers of her supported arm outstretched, a rotating, blue symbol appeared for a moment. It shot out a light blue orb, which caused Natasha's arm and shoulder to recoil to the force. The orb itself, which seemed to emit a cold aura, slammed into the creature's chest and proceeded to burn it inside-out from the impact point. The creature roared until there was nothing left of it, save for the echo of its roar. In its place, a red line appeared for a moment, which led to one of the nearby gyms.
In the meantime, Natasha staggered for a moment, then clenched her hand that had shot out the Flare, which was now cold and numb from the Flare's side effect.
One creature was down, but the others were becoming more of a threat; the creature that had walked off earlier was still slowly walking back towards the group, and the other that had been split in half was now slowly reconnecting. It wouldn't be long before the two would catch up, and Natasha wasn't willing to stick around any longer. She walked over to the student that had thrown the slab of earth, waiting for him to lead the group.
""I'm..I'm sorry for not listening!"" apologized Natasha as she slightly bowed her head. "It's just that...that thing was about to attack this mister..." In the meantime, she seemed to be slightly off balance, and was still holding her cold hand. It had been awhile since she had used the Flares, as she only used them in emergencies. As a result, she was slightly fatigued, which could be easily seen.

Mike assumed it was his impassive demeanor that caused Natasha to step in so quickly, however in the aftermath, he stared down at her with a grave expression. She looked liked she'd used up most of her energy from that last magnificent attack. But there was no denying that the monsters knew of the group's presence now and they didn't look like they were going to back down.

"Seth! Something's up in the gym!" He called out, and wondered if the boy noticed the trail of red leading up to the gymnasium. Mike understood they were all on the same wavelength here. The door of opportunity to escape was closing fast. However Natasha seemed transfixed by her rigid hand. It looked like she'd cast a spell from it. And if it were not for the symbol Mike had spotted earlier, he would have just assumed it to be a ki-blast. "Are you kidding? We need magic to destroy them?" He asked no one in particular, watching Natasha sway a little with a look of uneasiness. He would have told the girl to flee otherwise, but it seemed like they were going to need her to take these creatures down as well. Well, so long as the things still moved and created a force behind them, they weren't going to be a problem for him.

He eyed Seth and remembered Fuu's stories.

"You're good at carrying damsels. Hurry lets go."

"Carry-wut?" at Mike's word, he was suddenly reminded of a time long gone, when they were solving a case for the WDA, they were being chased by a group of masquerade and he had to lug the overweight Fuu around like some overweight luggage. Oh no, don't tell me.

Seth gave a deep sigh before he stooped down, easily picking Natasha up. It's quite lucky that she weighed a whole lot less than Fuu, who, if he could make an estimation, weighed about a tonne. He wondered where that extra weight came from, and managed to think up of a hypothesis that a woman's weight is exponentially proportional to the size of their bounce. Obviously enough, the hypothesis is false, but he couldn't help but think that it's true in Fuu's case. "Sorry, the ride's gonna be a bit rough, but hold on," Without further ado he immediately made his way towards the gymnasium, as per Mike's instruction.

Okay, so this isn't really normal now is it, even by Hyakuji's standard?

"No, I don't think so. It's not everyday you get to see something like a demon summoning whatever,"

Think this is just some random shit going on or what?

"Urm... Hope so," He said with a slight shudder in his voice.

Natasha was obviously embarrassed. She felt that she was burdening the group by not being in shape, magic-wise. And to add to that, it seemed that the group would have to depend on her magical attacks if those 'creatures' were to be encountered again. Her thoughts were deeply sentimental, and thus she did not dare to implore on the idea of what awaited for them within the gym. Such ideas would just add to the stress, and Natasha knew what would happen if she became too stressed.

The gym itself looked pretty normal, untouched by whatever had plagued the sky. However, one would find the doors to be oddly unlocked, and what was awaiting inside was far more mystifying and bizarre than the alien twilight. Within the gym there had been a plain, simple basketball court and a couple of equipment closets. But now a black, hard substance was covering the whole court from top to bottom, with stalagmites and stalactites of various sizes strewn about. Suspended in the air and close to the ceiling was a light green orb, which hummed and vibrated as if it were emitting some sort of energy.
Beneath it on the ground stood a man, or what appeared to be a man. He was clad mostly in black leather, save for the black t-shirt that was beneath his jacket, and had a face that was as pale as death. His black hair seemed to be somewhat dyed with red highlights, and instead of having eyes, black energy was emitting from his eye sockets. Sitting next to him was an enormous, crimson war hammer with elaborate designs and inscriptions. Overall, he was suspicious looking.
...
"Warning: Target and two civilians are on approach. Caution is advised," he mumbled to himself with a monotone voice. "Report: Second phase of testing is about to commence. Requesting approval for combat engagement." The young man paused, staring into space as if he were waiting for something.

Mike stood at the back of the group, in case the terrifying monsters were following them and got too close. Once they reached the gymnasium though, Mike became slightly mystified by what was inside.

"...we should have thought this through." He voiced gravely. If the trail of a monster that had been slayed led to a certain place, do you follow where it goes with your hardest hitter still in fatigue? Mike wasn't an idiot. But he wished Fuu was here so he could reach down into her dimension and pull out a chocolate bar for Natasha.

None the less, they pressed on. He assumed this was most likely the source of where all these evil looking creatures manifested from. So he stood his ground, before navigating through the black stalagmites. Everything was bathed in the eerie glow of the energy ball.

Then he noticed the student underneath it, and tried to meet his dead gaze.

He looked very suspicious. But he also could have been injured. Mike turned to Seth.

"..Hm.."

The gym wasn't really better than outside. Heck, it looked just as ominous if not worse. Black hard substance covered the entire gymnasium, the same substance formed stalagmites and stalactites that protrudes all over from the ceiling and the floor, giving the impression of some ancient cave that has been left for a few millions years. It's hard to maneuver around do to the rocky unstable footings, and the fact that he had a girl on his shoulder.

Although, he's not sure about Mike's decision about getting close to the suspicious-looking man who was sitting on the chair below the sickly-green orb floating high above. In fact, for some reason, he felt an enormous amount of danger being emanated from the man. He opened his mouth, the voice that came out was hushed, harsh and urgent. "Mike... get away from him... now!"
