Haien stirred again. He could smell something other than sulfur. It smelled faintly of lemon. His eyes opened slowly. "L...emon." He said, his mind starting to catch up with his body. He felt a bit dizzy, maybe even dehydrated, though he wasn't sure how that happened. Then he realized that his oversized towel was gone, and he was lying on the ground covered by nothing but a smallish towel. He sat upright suddenly, wide eyed. |

"Ah, I see you've finally roused." Erin turned his head to the suddenly upright Haien. "You should probably get dressed then get something to drink." Erin pro-offered his half-empty drink to Haien, "Or you can just have some of mine if you don't have enough money." A light smile crossed Erin's face. |

Haien wrapped the towel around himself, turning bright red. "Y-y-y-you...s-s-saw...m-me...n-n-n..." For some reason, Haien couldn't say that word. It wasn't that he found it terribly inappropriate... He just couldn't fathom anyone ever seeing him unclothed. He dug through the small pouch that sat with his clothes, and found enough money to buy a drink. "W-what kinds of things do they have to drink?" |

"Yes. I saw you naked. Now go put something on." Erin brought his can of ice teas back to his lips. "Just get some tea or ice coffee or juice. I think I might have seen some soda." Erin didn't really feel like chit chatting with his naked embarrassed comrade until he was either less naked or less embarrassed. Either was was alright, but well, both would be better. Erin looked up at the clear sky. Well, mostly clear. A swirl of clouds were forming around him, but they looked nice and fluffy. Well, they were really wet, but they looked nice and fluffy. Erin waved them away without a thought as he cleared his mind and sat there relaxed. |

Haien turned a brighter shade of red, and quickly dove behind the same rock he'd hidden behind before, dragging his pile of clothes after him. As he dried himself off and got dressed, he continued to silently freak out. When he emerged, he was wearing a shorter wig, this one was a bob instead of waist length, and had a slight curl at the bottom. His face, however, was devoid of makeup, though the natural lines of his face were soft enough to be taken as a slightly masculine girl. "What's soda?" He suddenly asked. |

Erin relaxed. Good good. Now that Haien was dressed he was back to asking about the basic workings of the world. "Soda, or pop," Erin did a pair of air quotes on the second, "is a carbonated beverage, generally made with a sweet syrup." After a short pause he added, "They're all bubbly." since carbonated probably wouldn't mean much is soda didn't. |

Haien looked curious, so he got up, and went and got a soda. When he came back, he looked extremely confused, due to the fact that the soda came in a can. He kept turning it over, trying to figure out how to open it. "Erin Sansai...the man watching the place paid for it.....But how do you drink it?" |

Erin took the can from Haien's curious hands. "It's not too hard. You just slip your finger in here..." As he said it he momentarily struggled to get his finger under the tab, "And you pop it open, like so." As he opened it the soda overflowed from the shaken can, covering his hand. He handed the overflowing can to Haien, and freely wiped his hand on his own robe. |

Haien tilted his head to the side, then began licking in a cat-like fashion at the liquid dripping down the side of the can. Then he held the can out, and remarked "It's....bubbly." He held the can up to his mouth, and took a sip, then smiled broadly. "It's sweet. I like it." This smile held none of the politeness or artificial delicateness of his female smiles. This one was a smile of childlike wonder and enjoyment. |

He liked his soda quite a bit, huh? Erin chuckled. How cheerful. "Your guise slipped a bit." Erin said pinching his fingers together. Erin didn't mind it at all, but he figured he ought to share that with Haien. He seemed to be fairly confident in his feminine act after all. "Not that it matters with just you and me." Erin sipped on his tea. |

Haien shrugged when Erin pointed out that he'd let his female persona slip. "Like you said. Its only you and I here, and you aren't likely to go telling every one." Haien sat back, taking another sip of his soda. "I might as well tell you why I'm doing this whole female thing. I'm on a mission for my people, to retrieve an item of great importance from a criminal who stole it for her own personal gain. Unformulated, the criminal is more powerful than I am, so I needed a disguise. The Fayne would never send a Priestess out of the city. They're far too important. So my target will be searching for a male, not a female. Hence I shall stay alive longer." |

"Let's be totally honest here Haien... I don't believe a word you just said." Erin responded calmly. So my new friend Haien is being tracked by some sort of Assassin? How unpleasant. At any rate his claim was obviously false since he hadn't put on women's clothes on purpose. Perhaps that was the justification he had made for himself, but it was still a lie. "But that doesn't matter." |

Haien resisted the urge to grimace. "Ah, so you've seen through part of it. I might as well explain properly. I am on a mission to recover an item of great importance to my people. The woman who stole it has sent an assassin after me. That much is true. However...I also enjoy this a bit." He said gesturing at himself. "Among my people, females are valued more than males because Priestess's are closer to our Goddess than males are. Its...an odd feeling. But I like it." Haien said slowly, just coming to the realization himself. "And I do hope to live longer because the assassin overlooks me." |

As he finished his tea Erin rose to his feet. "I do hope you live until our next encounter, young lady." And with that offhand comment he left the spring. His words weren't a lie, but he's said them a bit offhandedly. He didn't like to consider the possibility that his friend might die, so his mind wouldn't let him consider it a serious possibility. He would change back into his usual clothes and head out. |

Haien stretched, his catlike posture obvious now, then he stood, picking up the small bag he had been carrying. He had so much work to do. He had to catch Hellewise while she was unaware of his identity. He turned and began to walk away, glancing back only once, with a murmured, "I thank you for your concern, Erin Sansai. But I have no intention of dying." He was serious, and he wasn't just talking about surviving his encounter with Hellewise. |
