It had been a little over a week now since Mitsuko had arrived at Hyakuji High School, and in that time she’d seen all sorts of peculiar things. Nurses who could heal broken bones with a single touch, children who could move faster than her eyes could see, elemental warriors who commanded wind, fire and darkness. Yet for all that she had seen Mitsuko had scarcely ever used her own power, nor had she had any time or instruction on how to control it. It was for this reason that when she had learnt that there was a nearby shrine she set aside some time to visit it, as this seemed the likely best place to meditate which was after all the first step towards initiating her power. At this current space in time Mitsuko was sitting upright on top of a large rock located a short distance from the shrine itself. Several lit candles rested upon its surface surrounding her, the cheap sort as Mitsuko wasn’t exactly going to put a huge dent in her finances for something she wasn’t going to pay full attention to, besides the flame was all that was important anyway regardless of how decorative the wax was. If one were to see her where she sat they would simply assume that Mitsuko was in fact meditating, as her posture gave this fact away quite clearly, however if one then looked closer they’d notice something quite odd. Mitsuko’s head was bowed forwards, her body limp, as if all it would take to topple her over would be a gentle breeze so it was quite fortuitous that the air was quite still this morning. Only her formally ridged posture was keeping her from falling limp. The second thing one would notice was that she wasn’t breathing, her skin had turned pale as her body grew colder with every passing second. Of course if somebody were to see Mitsuko they probably wouldn’t pay any attention to her at all, as floating gracefully through the air surrounding her was something which would easily distract even the most observant of people. A white translucent female wearing a beautiful kimono circled through the air, her long flowing hair partly hidden by a Kasa hat drifted gracefully along with her graceful movements, her face hidden completely by a faceless mask. The figure seemed somewhat distant from the world, as if rather than flying through air it floated through water. It circled the rock, drifting down towards the ground then back up high into the air but never leaving Mitsuko’s side, never touching any physical object though it did not move its body as to avoid contact. It seemed content on doing this, making no sound other than an eerie high pitched hum, which rather than coming from its hidden mouth came from its very presence. Yet strangely there were no other sounds coming from the surrounding area, not even the chirps of birds, as if for some unknown reason this spirits presence silenced every living thing around it. They merely watched, though if it was through curiosity, fear, or respect, was anyone’s guess. |

IZUNAAAA DROP!

Well, whatever it was certainly wasn't something she'd ever seen at this shrine before. The girl however, was. Sestuna had been coming here at least once a week to pay her respects to the shrine, but whatever was going on here was certainly new. In front of her, a short ways off the path of the shrine steps sat a girl about her age clearly deep in a meditative sleep. Around her floated a soft, white entity paddling benignly through the ethereal state around her. It was a bit off-putting and maybe a tad perturbing but someone it only managed to make Setsuna smile a little. Whatever it was didn't seem to be awful or mean...and even if it were, what could she do about it? Her eyes lowered slightly, being a mixture of guilt and jealousy but still smiling as she began walking towards her. Nothing was really her problem anymore, even she only wanted to help there was nothing someone like her could do anymore. That was for people like this girl, who had the ability to do it and the will to use it the right way. Setsuna had been trying to find solace in the fact that her powers had been evil and as such could only ever cause harm in the first place, but since she'd learned to help people, being a burden again and being so helpless just felt so wrong. It didn't matter now though, now that this was the way things were and she could just go back to being a normal girl with normal problems. Maybe she should transfer back to home...Setsuna stopped a short ways from the girl, watching the ghostly visage dance peacefully through the air. She wished could have a power like that, to be able to just get away whenever it wasn't safe anymore. To be able to just leave her body and forget all the people she'd let down. There was no reason to be sad anymore now that it was over and maybe she wasn't really, but why couldn't she be happy either? Setsuna smiled and took a few steps closer, now standing just in front of the rock as she bent down to the girl's level. "It must be really nice...to be able to be this peaceful..." She whispered, her eyes lowering solemnly for a moment. "Really nice..." |

Mitsuko didn’t reply to the girl who had approached her, being that she was currently projecting her consciousness outside of her body all that Sestuna spoke to was an empty shell. However the moment the first syllable left her lips the spirit like being seemed to take notice. Its movements were subtle at first, it swooped and spiralled downwards, closing in on this intruder but keeping a safe distance as it continued to float gracefully through the air. However, after a few seconds had passed, this changed. With a sudden burst of speed it flew silently across the grass, making a horizontal arching manoeuvre towards Sestuna before swiftly lurching upwards so that within the time one would take to blink it was upon her, slowly moving its head towards her, as if it was studying her curiously from behind its faceless mask. It held this pose for a good few seconds, its hair and beautiful flowing kimono floating gracefully in the air surrounding it as if it were submerged within deep waters. And then, just as abruptly and as sudden as it had made this swift movement, it disappeared. Not in the blink of an eye, but rather whatever spiritual energies which held its form together had been removed, resulting in this spiritual entity turning back once more into its most basic of otherworldly elements. It seemed to have turned into gas, or perhaps powder, which blew rapidly through the air from unseen winds yet still holding the faintest hint of the spiritual being it had once been. No matter what it was it still seemed to exist in a realm separate to the one in which Sestuna watched, as she would not feel these winds nor be able to touch the energy in front of her. A brief second later these gases flowed backwards, towards Mitsuko’s body, for a brief second taking upon the faintest hint of its human like visage before completely moving within her. The moment this spirit disappeared completely from view Mitsuko’s eyes snapped open, she lurched backwards and gasped desperately for air, almost slipping off of the rock from which she sat causing one of the candles to slip onto the grass. Suddenly she reached a hand up to clutch her neck as she bent forwards, coughing loudly to try and clear her throat although nothing appeared to be obstructing her breathing. She always felt like this after coming back from her astral form and it never got any better, the worst part was the chilling cold she felt though this was slowly fading as warmth returned to her body, along with the colour to her once pale skin. She tried desperately to recollect what she had witnessed whilst in her astral form, what had forced her to return to her body. An intruder? She didn’t like it, this person had come too close to her physical body so she had to return. Suddenly her eyes snapped upwards, fixating upon Sestuna with a cautious glare though she still seemed visually weakened, almost on the verge of collapsing as she remained in her hunched forwards position. “Ew.. ew er yew?” She asked forcefully, wanting to snap out this demand but as it was through heavy breaths due to her current lack of energy and exhausted state it came off a lot weaker than she had intended.
