The Doctor waited expectantly in case they actually did turn around and ask more questions. One came from Fuu, but she quickly decided against receiving an answer for it. He slightly wondered what she meant by 'she can find out by herself', but the answer to that was itself so obvious. But then he had to wonder where in the world she'd find a big enough tank.
"So... what questions might you have, doc?"
So, how to answer a question about his question on whether or not he could be allowed to ask some questions? That was quite the question, wasn't it?

"Well, for starters I suppose I could use a little background." He said, as he walked towards the front of the store, and took a look outside one of its windows. They were people walking by, cars driving past, and the sky above was rolling on without a care.
"This city is a very curious place. I'm from out of town, so I don't really know a great deal about it. And I'd say even if I was a local, I still might not get it all. What is it that makes a city like this tick? Why is it so important, as such?" It might come off as a strange question, particularly since he wasn't alluding to what he meant as to 'important'.

"And then we move onto the next question. What is up with this planet?! You've got photon power, DNA-hardware fragmentation capability, even the ability to warp space between female assets," His casual remark went with a small gesture towards Fuu's bounce, "And even in this shop I can smell something of the same sort - one moment." He muttered as he pulled out the sonic screwdriver again, and began to fiddle with its various settings. After scanning for a few moments, and getting some less than satisfying results, he plopped it back in his pocket, before going back to his question.

"Now where was I?" He said, seeming to have almost genuinely forgotten what he'd be on about.
"Oh, right. I just don't see why it isn't already being used on a wider scale." He sighed, thinking back to the Earth he'd known. If it were there, he'd almost be certain that it was alien invaders or something. But here, where such power was in the hands of teenagers at school who are less likely to be world conquerors than he an actual human? Baffled the mind.

"And then there's you two. What are your stories?"

✍(⊙︿⊙ ; ) ….. nope.
When the doctor looked away from his screwdriver and up at the two, he would see Fuu cupping her so called 'assets' together with her hands. She was tipping them down and flashing sideways worried glance at Jen -- who she was leaning awfully close towards,

"Do you see what he just pointed to?? ... Is there something on my nunga...?" She was busy rubbing the boob in her left hand as though to get it off, "Huh? Stories, ya said?" By now she had straightened back up and cast a puzzled expression towards the Doctor.

"Well!! We both came here to Hyakuji from different places. Like. I'm from a village hidden in Okayama Prefecture... Perhaps you've heard of it?" She puts her hand over her mouth and gasps, "I'd better HOPE NOT! Our village's location is a big and super important secret! And anyways, Jen-chan over here came from..." She pointed her thumb at Jen, before realising she didn't know, and retracted her hand. "I journeyed all the way here on foot and a bear, and Jen-chan.." Her bottom jaw hung open as her eyes flickered from Jen to the doctor, "...... sooooo.... I'm just trying to find the person who stole my small village's treasure, ya know? And my friend here....." Again she looked over to Jen with a small pause, unable to finish her sentence. She pouted her lips and furrowed her brow, extending a hand out from her crossed arms and throwing an open palm in Jen's direction,

"Hm. Oh I'm sorry, do I know you?" She spoke, acting as though this was the first time they met. "Nope. I don't think I do. My name is Fuu Wakamurasaki."

Before she could even think of explaining to the Doctor what she thought was behind the weirdness in this city, she wanted to hear from the purple haired power puff girl standing beside her first.

Jen narrowed her eyes and frowned as Fuu leaned in close to her, cupping her breasts together while looking all worried towards the purple-haired girl. "Do you see what he just pointed to?? ... Is there something on my nunga...?" In a true innocent fanservice girl style, the country girl rubbed the left side of her assets without any concern towards how bystanders might view her.

"There's nothing wrong, Fuu-chan," Jen commented, noticing that the way the Doctor gestured towards Fuu's bounce might've triggered her friend's behavior, as she completely missed the point. Leaning towards Fuu's ear Jen whispered, "He's just wondering what's it with our powers, like how you can store stuff between your assets."

Jen paused as Fuu introduced herself, before making it clear that it was the purple-haired girl's turn to take over.

"Me? I came from Los Angeles, from the good ol' U-S of A; my dad's a pretty high-level executive in a multinational industrial conglomerate, and he was transferred over to their new branch here in Japan," Jen shared part of her background with the Doctor. "It happens to be right here in Hyakuji though, so naturally I wound up being a student here at Hyakuji High School."

"I've done a bit of reading-up on this town's history, but apparently this place wasn't always full of strange stuff," Jen commented. "But ever since the school was set up things have changed - I suppose weirdness acts as a magnet for more weirdness," the purple-haired girl stifled a chuckle at the remark.

The Doctor took in their answers, as well as noting the differences between them. Both the blindingly obvious - such as what those answer were - but also the subtle - why they were.
Fuu was, quite frankly, a bit of an airhead. She gave out information, only to contradict herself by realising that she wasn't supposed to have done that. And her answers were very vague, nothing specific beyond general areas - such as a prefecture. That and she hadn't spotted the relation between her chest and the pocket dimension - or whatever - she had pulled that bone from the other day. In short, she was unfocused. Easily distractable. A tad like him, he supposed.

And compared to that, Jen's could've been the start of an essay. It was uniform, specific, and gave the answers he had wanted to hear - what you would expect from the child of a parent who worked in such a high end job. There was informality for sure, but that simply reflected her age, and that her background wasn't quite that strict. And her little remark indicated that the school was the source of much of the strangeness revolving around this town. How very peculiar. This was the same school that had a Photon power lab nearby, and had students who could bring paintings to life. Could it be that the chain of events in this world revolved around such a school? Possible - he tended to attract trouble himself wherever he went in his travels back home. The fact he'd avoided such here clearly showed how different it was from his own.

"Interesting... very interesting..." He began to wonder what his next question should be. It had to be relevant. It had to be informative if answered. It needed to give him everything he needed to know.
"When you hear the word 'plunger', what do you think of?"

"Wow. That's so ignoraaant, yaa. How can weirdness attract more weirdness?" A very weird Fuu responded to Jen while gravitating next to a very weird Doctor. Despite the undeniable truth of Jen's statement standing right in front of their eyes, Fuu herself looked very disbelieving with a pouty face and her arms crossed in front of her chest.

A single brow rose and she turned her neck to the Doctor for a second. "Was'sat you said??" swishing her head of orange dyed hair back to face Jen. It looked as though they were telepathically communicating their ideas on how to answer this backwards question, but in truth all Fuu really had in her head was a catchy tune. She gave an affirmative and excitable nod, before looking over her shoulder up at the Doc,

"Puu..ran...ja..?" It was far from informative, but you had to excuse the two. They didn't operate on the Doctor's complex plane of thinking. In the time in took for Fuu to formulate her response, Jen could have already voiced her own answer to the question. Regardless of who said what, Fuu pressed on in her own way, "This word is alien to Fuu-chan, eheh~! I ain't never heard it, yaa!" She replied, grinning in a playful manner and pressing her shoulder to her chin. By simply extending her pointing finger up she was now pointing to the Doctor's face.

"My turn~" She said in sing song way. They'd just shared both new and old information with each other. But rather than ask him his story and why he was here in Hyakuji, she decided to take a detour, "If you're a Professor does that mean you teach at Hyakuji University?" She paused with a dimwitted stare, before facing Jen and saying with a small voice, "That's funny I didn't think Hyakuji had one, yaa."

"Wow. That's so ignoraaant, yaa. How can weirdness attract more weirdness?" Fuu wondered, clearly the village girl was busy spacing out as Jen was voicing her thoughts on what she felt about Hyakuji, looking at the purple-haired girl with a pouty expression as she folded her arms across her chest. "Was'sat you said??" the village girl asked, swinging around her head around, complete with a swish of her orange-dyed hair to face Jen as she raised an eyebrow, before shifting her gaze back to the Doctor.

"When you hear the word 'plunger', what do you think of?"

Jen gave the doctor a look of stunned surprise at his question... that was his question? "Puu..ran...ja..? This word is alien to Fuu-chan, eheh~! I ain't never heard it, yaa!" Fuu replied while wearing a playful grin on her face.

"Plunger... as a noun you're probably referring to a tool used by plumbers to clear blockages in drains and sinks, which relies on either compressed air or creating a vacuum to loosen or break up excessive material that might be causing a clog," Jen replied a matter-of-factly. "Or it could be a person who decided to take a plunge. Like you know, taking a high-rise dive into a lake from the top of a waterfall or something along those lines?"

"My turn~" Fuu chimed in with a sing-song kinda voice as she pointed an index finger at the Doctor. "If you're a Professor does that mean you teach at Hyakuji University?" Pausing to reconsider her question, Fuu then turned to face Jen with a dimwitted stare.

"That's funny I didn't think Hyakuji had one, yaa." Fuu asked quietly.

"Hyakuji has no university, Fuu-chan," Jen replied. "Those who want to pursue university education would tend to end up traveling to bigger cities like Tokyo to enrol in their universities there."

The Doctor caught the bridge of his nose, resisting the urge to full out facepalm. He needed to remember that without the Tardis, his translation skills actually needed to be worked on. Intent was not always going to be carried over in his words now.
Or maybe it was just Fuu - considering Jen gave a perfectly reasonable, logical, and all too dictionarian (if such a word existed) answer.
He leaned back slightly as Fuu's finger came towards his face, maintaining a small gap between it and his right nostril.

"My turn~" The girl chimed as if this were some sort of gameshow, where each participant took turns in questioning each other.
"If you're a Professor does that mean you teach at Hyakuji University?" Realising an opportunity, he sought to take it.
"Why of course! Anyone knows tha-"
"Hyakuji has no university, Fuu-chan," The Doctor's expression turned sour as Jen explained that in order to go to university, someone from Hyakuji would probably have to take a trip up to somewhere Tokyo.

He really should've bothered to check if there was actually anywhere to learn here beside the school.
"Rule #1 to learn: The Doctor always lies." He said, trying to defend his earlier statement, though in doing so may have just the grave a little deeper.

"Pft. Then that's a lie too." Fuu spouted at the Doctor, walking away from him and running her fingers through her hair then behind her ear. Upon reaching Jen she spun around in a very Dick Tracy kind of way. "See what I did there?" She leaned forward with both hands on her hips and an eager smile, then back up again, before craning her neck down at Jen, "I just made a logic."

And she said this all with closed eyes because that's how smug people talked.

In the meantime, from this view point, Jen had very good view of what was going on outside the window. The doctor would too out of his peripherals.

A young boy, with chains on his pants wearing his cap back to front approached Shadow the very charming and recently-made-obedient big dog. There was a brief exchange, and after that the stranger tapped the dog up on its feet and together they began to walk down the sidewalk, away from the bookstore.

Of course, Fuu missed all this because she was too busy trying to look as smart as the other two.

And while Fuu was preoccupied with her playing the whole "insufferable genius" act by acting all pompous. However while the village girl was putting on her airs of false ingenuity she'd apparently gone unaware that Shadow was no longer alone as a boy approached the dog, dressed in a punk-inspired style with chains on his pants and a baseball cap worn back-to-front.

Jen on the other hand, saw it all happen. Right outside the store window as the boy began playing with the dog, which had become all obedient and friendly, apparently not suspicious in the least of being approached by a stranger. Jen would have to thank Fuu for that, training their adopted German Shepherd to be this docile. To Jen's shock and disbelief, the purple-haired girl watched through a pair of widened eyes as Shadow followed the stranger, wagging his tail all the way.

Something had to be done. Giving Fuu a gentle elbow to the ribs to catch her attention Jen pointed out of the store window as she shouted, "Fuu-chan, Shadow's following a stranger!" That being said, the purple-haired girl went bounding out of the store and to the pavement outside, racing off after the boy who had Shadow following him!

Hmm, never really thought of that. Okay, so the Doctor sometimes lies. Typically when he can't think of anything better to fit the situation.
However, there was another situation brewing, as out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Shadow. Specifically, Shadow walking off with some bloke he didn't think he had ever met or seen before.

Oh dear.

"Fuu-chan, Shadow's following a stranger!" Jen yelled, as she and the Doctor bolted for the door. The man in the tweed jacket flung the door open, tracing the path of the stranger in chains until his eyes caught sight of him and the dog.
Noticeably, Shadow's tail was wagging. Wagging tails had many different signs depending on species. In some, it was a sign of hostility. Others, a warning. In dogs - and very commonly known - it was sign the creature was likely happy.

Now why would that be?

"Excuse me." He said, clearly trying to get the young man's attention. "Care to explain where you're going with that dog?"

"We're going home." The preteen answered eying the Doctor skeptically. But Shadow recognized the sound of the man's voice and spun around playfully, still wagging his tail as energetically as ever. "It's not wearing a tag. I can take him home if I want to." The boy explained with a frown.

Fuu caught up with Jen and The Doctor, speaking between huffs, "Lil'boy! Its just a mistake, eheh~ I forgot to buy him a collar, yaa." She eyed her friend Jen with appreciation, and remorse for letting a silly joke get in the way of protecting her new dog. Well, hopefully the boy would understand and they could put this all behind them.

"Mistake? If that excuse actually worked then why the hell would we need police and lawyers eh??"

Fuu was taken aback, hanging her jaw open at the feisty young boy. She didn't face away from him but muttered dejectedly to Jen, "Why does everyone Downtown always give Fuu-chan a hard time...?" Was it the hair? She pouted and looked up to the Doctor, "You made Shadow so mellow that he can just walk away with anybody now.. huu... Its like our time together didn't even mean anything." Fuu gazed into Shadow's eyes and became lost in a flash back.

Fuu eating an icecream, then dropping it, then Shadow licking it up .... Shadow freaking out over Jen's pooper scooper contraption ... Fuu giving Shadow a bubble bath... Shadow playing with his own shadow.... The Doctor and Fuu being chased in slow motion by the rabid black german shepherd.......

.... And they called it... puppy love.....

Then suddenly, Shadow ran back to the little group of three, still wagging his tail as he looked up at the familiar faces. "Tch." Sensing defeat, the boy huffed and stuffed his hands in the pockets of his baggy pants, walking away.

"what..? what..? I don't believe this, yaa!" Fuu smiled a closed eyed smile and blushed, as she reached out an patted her dog, who rushed passed her and occupied himself with a lolly that was stuck on the back leg of Jen's hot-pants. She looked up at the Doctor, and then turned to Jen. That was a close one. Just then, it almost felt like she lost part of her soul at the thought of letting Shadow go with the stranger. It was at this very moment she realised, "I don't ever want to lose any of you guys, my good friends!"

Meanwhile, our small group could enjoy the company of each other on a bright sunny weekend in Hyakuji. Perhaps they could make a stop at Majikku Mall and pick up some supplies they could use to build the Doctor's device. And if Jen already had a venue in mind, they could stop by and drop them off there. But at the very least...... they had to get Shadow his own collar.

(END-- thanks for playing~!<3)
