The pool was particularly quiet at the moment. Granted, winter had just ended, and it was pretty unlikely it'll get any warmer soon enough. But the temperature's reasonable enough to warrant some good pool time. But it doesn't seem like anyone was in the mood for any swimming so early in the morning. Except maybe for a certain someone already underwater. Instead of swimming around or splashing out water like a certain mad drowning cat or, I don't know, do whatever people do in a pool, Seth was curled up underwater, staring into the limited depth of the pool, head-deep in whatever thoughts he had in mind. ... I has almost been a year. Well, not really a year, but it's very close to one. Four months isn't actually that long, to be honest. It's already been more than half a year. And just how much time does he still have in his hand? Not much, that's for sure. Damn, he's playing around too much. Of course, he really shouldn't be saying that when right now he's underwater at the pool in nothing but swimming trunks. AHAH! FOUND IT! That really shocked him quite a bit, but not enough to make him gasp and subsequently breath in water. He directed his attention to the little meta-virus in his head, curious as to what he might have 'found' underwater. Ohho~ So you wanna know~~~? I couldn't have been more curious. He relayed his thoughts to V, somewhat kinda apprehensive about his findings. VERY WELL THEN!!! ENJOY~~~! DAMN YOU OLIVER! XD ~~~~~ He was floating on the surface of the water, motionless and unconscious. |

"...." Oliver stood outside the pool in his swim trunks holding a bag over his shoulder. He wandered up to the pools edge setting the bag down with a heavy sigh. What a pain in his ass. He'd been dealing with WDA this and WDA that for days. Jameson had left practically everything to him for the last couple weeks and it was starting to push Oliver to his limit. Jameson wasn't exactly well known for not shirking his duties but this..? This was ridiculous. Oliver wandered over to the pool's edge and set his bag down on the side. He glanced towards the water with a small smile forcing it's way onto his lips. He was finally gonna get a chance to relax. He exhaled a long breath with a goofy grin on his features. This was the life. Hot chicks in bikini's, warm sun breaking through the cold and a heated pool. And.. A drowning Seth..? "God... dammit.." He spat annoyed. He leaped forward diving gracefully into the water, slicing through it like a knife. He drug the boy to the side and tossed him up on the edge before climbing out. He sat over the boy with a paled expression as he eyed the boy... His lips.. CPR.... That was how you saved a drowning person right?! B-but surely! Anyone but him.. b-but!! He pushed down on his chest several times, compressing the sternum. He tilted his head back and closed off his nose.. He looked around.. 'PELASE GOD... SPARE ME!!' ..... ~~~~ MOMENTS LATER ~~~~ Oliver wept in a corner. "Nooo.... Nooo.... A duuuude... Whyyyy... Sethh...." |

Although it was a brisk day in the city of Hyakuji, it was plenty warm to take a swim in the local pool. After all, it was a great source of cardio and muscular workout and she was getting bored of jogging around the same few miles over and over again. She could only punch and kick her in-apartment punching bag so much before she wanted to gouge her eyes out of boredom. So, that morning she donned her swimsuit, threw on a lightweight outfit on top of it, assembled her pool bag and made her way to her destination. It was early enough in the day that the pool was open but she assumed no one would be there. Heated pool, cool wind, all to herself...it was almost a perfect situation. She walked over to one of the white chaises surrounding the edge of the pool and dropped her bag before interlacing her fingers behind her back and stretching her arms behind her. Something about a workout in the morning was so relaxing and rejuvenating...however those two worked together, but they did. She peeled off her t-shirt and running pants to reveal the plain black bikini underneath, tossing the two clothing items into the bag she brought with her. Not wanting to deal with the knot of hair that would ensue post-swim, she pulled the ponytail holder from her hair and shook the hair loose. Now, most normal people would either be at work or asleep, but...not in this city. She was lucky there wasn't some sort of sea creature lurking amongst the watery depths. And for all she knew, there was, and maybe she would've preferred that. But until she found that watery monster and let it eat her alive to save her the social misery, she'd have to endure what she came upon and that was... ...what looked like Oliver making out with Seth on the pool deck. Sweet festivus god of gods. Of all the days to think it was a pool day, why her? Why couldn't she just be satisfied with another boring day entailing another five mile run? Just about ready to ditch the pool altogether, she decided she was better off sinking into the water and trying to stay unseen. Maybe they wouldn't notice she'd even walked in and they could continue their little man-love session. If she were lucky, she'd get her entire workout in and leave before they even broke apart for air. ...... Something told her she wouldn't be so lucky as she dipped her head beneath the water and began swimming the length of the pool. Awkward...how was she going to ignore this one? She wasn't going to be as obvious as to put her clothes back on and exit the pool, so instead she'd have to live with her decision of using this place as her aquatic gym and go about her ways. She got to one end of the pool, turned around, swam back, and held onto the edge of the pool once she reached the side she started from. Robyn looked over at Oliver and Seth and saw that it appeared to be more than just a makeout session...was he actually performing CPR? If not, Seth wasn't into it very much. She swam over to the edge of the pool closest to the two boys just in case some sort of death was imminent. "...Is he alright? More importantly, do you know what you're doing?" she called out to Oliver a few feet away. . . . . . Luckily Oliver had managed to bring the boy back to life (if he was even dead in the first place), but reverted to the fetal position. She didn't have to jump out of the pool herself as Oliver proved himself capable of resuscitating techniques and she wasn't going to have to press her face against anyone. She would have jumped in, but he was doing such a fine job on his own that she didn't feel the need (or really the desire, for that matter). While Seth did...whatever he was doing post-CPR, she dragged a hand through the water and toward Oliver, splashing some water at him. "Hey, boy wonder. Snap out of it." Who was she kidding? She did her best, or at least as much as she cared to do at this point. Besides, she was here on a mission, so she went back to face the other end of the pool to get in a few more laps before things got too crazy. |

"Urgh... so this is what a kiss taste like... Disgusting... why do humans do this all the time...?" He said that, spitting out any residual taste that might have stayed in his mouth. While he knew perfectly well that it was really nothing more than some life-saving procedure he'd read about, it still tasted quite disgusting nonetheless. Seth had already been knocked out by the earlier shock of having his memory bank ransacked, so V took the chance to have some fun with the body. It's just too bad he had to take control the very moment some dude was having his way with Seth's mouth. Okay, so it really wasn't that bad. Contact time was kinda minimal and he's pretty sure even Oliver himself didn't wanted to do it. Since it would probably destroy his pride as a guy, thought V. Oh wait... it has already been destroyed. He should probably thank him, but from the looks of it, he thought it would be better to just leave him alone for a while until he gets over it himself. ...Somehow it doesn't seem like he'll get over it himself... "Oi, whatever you thought happened never happened," He called out to the depressed figure of Oliver. Keep in mind though, that denying it was probably the most tactless way of dealing with the problem. Not that V cared much. It's not his problem. Out from the corner of his eyes, he spotted someone who was definitely not there before doing a few laps around the pool. Not immediately recognizable, due to the water and the splashing at the movement. But believe me, if he does know whom that person is... let's just say he's gonna be a bit less than friendly about it. |

Oliver rose to his feet, turning with a blisfully blank expression. "Hahahahahah! What are you talking about! I don't recall anything." The last word dripped with lethal nurderous intent that could obviously kill a person with how forceful it was. He turned looking over the pool, however his facial demeanor instantly turned to a paled expression of pure shock. His eyes widened, his mouth gaped, his fist slowly curled into a fist as a look of psychosis spread slowly over his features. His teeth slowly closed together forming such a forcefully clenched jaw that it could be used to cut steel in a pinch. His entire aura turned to a bloodthirsty murderous rage. Because she was here.. And allowed that to happen. He reached down to his sandal, eying it for a moment. He'd learned knife throwing in his days as an agent. Weight distribution, wind, distance, arc. All of it was as true for a shoe as it was for a blade. If you knew the fundamentals you could hit a target with almost any object. Especially if you'd trained like Oliver had. His eyes took on a lethal glint as he threw the shoe expertly across the pool at the back of her head. "Yooooou bitttchhh" He hissed malevolently. Edited by Cypriss, Mar 20 2011, 08:34 PM.

Robyn continued to swim her laps in the pool, feeling her lungs stretch as she made an effort to go as long as possible without coming up for air, and that got her about halfway down the length of the pool. She was making a real conscious effort to act like she had nothing to do with the two other boys, but something started to prickle the surface of her skin as she continued her workout. It wasn't the water, perfectly warmed and easy to glide through, but more of a feeling that surfaced through the depths of her mind as if someone was watching her. It was that feeling she got every time she knew something was about to go down. Call it a sixth sense or a third eye, but it was enough to make her uncomfortable and force her to stop her laps mid-stroke. Oliver's shoe was expertly thrown, hardly making a sound through the air as it seemed to cut through the wind and hone in on its intended target. It certainly would have made contact with back of her head if she'd continued along her path, but the problem with timing a throw against a moving target was that the target had to keep moving. Her inkling of impending doom was timed as such that she narrowly missed diving to the side to dodge the woosh of air caused at the last second by the improvised weapon. Robyn caught little more than the scent of rubber and leather combined with a colored blur that came within centimeters of her nose, only determined to be a shoe after the water slowed its movement. "A shoe??" she exclaimed incredulously, whipping her head in the direction from which it was thrown in a bout of malcontent. Who other than Oliver was standing there, poised for the (near-) perfect throw that was aimed directly at her. And she knew it was supposed to hit her since there was no one else in her vicinity. "Who throws their shoe! And what the HELL was that for, Oliver!" she yelled across the pool, peeved that her workout had been interrupted. Clearly he was looking to start something for reasons she was unaware. She watched as the shoe sunk to the bottom of the pool; she certainly wasn't going to do him any favors by returning it. Out of the corner of her eye she caught sight of Seth, and he also had a less than friendly look about him. What was it with these two? She hadn't done much else than walk into the pool area and start doing laps, nothing to blatantly anger them. Maybe it was because... "What, are you two mad I interrupted your makeout session? I'm sure Jameson's an equal opportunity employer. I won't say anything." Now she was just pushing them for fun, although the weaponized shoe was a little vindictive if he was just trying to get her attention. Just in case they WERE trying to start something, she remained in the middle of the pool. As far as she knew neither of their powers involved control of water and it would make for an...interesting arena. If nothing else she wasn't going to let Oliver get away with nearly clobbering her in the back of the head with his footwear. Her eyes narrowed and she slowly waved her arms back and forth in the water to keep a steady position, staring the two down for the next move. It looks like things are heating up at the pool! |

V really couldn't have cared less about having his lips virginity taken away from him like that. Heck, it's not even his own, so why should he care? That said, it was kinda disgusting in it's own way, so he really couldn't blame Oliver for getting mad. Although, throwing a shoe at a person's head may be a bit too much. But then again... considering recent event, he's not complaining. Especially when the target is her. He kept watch on the shenanigans unfolding in front of him with a bored look on his face. The two lashing out on each others throat really had no relevance to him whatsoever. Really, he could have just left this to settle on his own, but for some reason he wanted to have a part in it. It's quite ridiculous, really. "Now, now, you two. I'm sure neither of us actually liked what had just happened. And Oliver," He turned around to him, gazing deep into his eyes with a sharp glare that pierces through all mental barrier, striking deep into his heart. "You must be proud of what you just did," Whaaaat? He did save Seth's life. |

Oliver's murderous aura spread out malevolently like a black cloud. The entire pool's temperature dropped by several degrees celsius from the frigid glare he was shooting the two of them. "Why'd I do it... BECAUSE YOU COULD HAVE DONE IT AND THEN I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO PUT MY... MY....." He pointed to Seth and glared at him. However to his surprise he was receiving a glare back. He went up several notches on the rage-o-meter. "YOU'RE mad at ME?! I DID... I DID.. THAT TO SAVE YOUR LIFE! IT'S YOUR STUPID FAULT FOR DROWNING IN THE FIRST PLACE!!" His entire person was emitting shock waves of fury at this point. Even the one he saved was giving him lip?! THIS WAS SERIOUSLY, TRULY, REALLY PISSING HIM OFF! His expression turned stony.. "Only one way to settle a dispute like this.." His eyes narrowed dangerously, the international language that shit had well and truly gotten serious. His lips pursed tightly as he stood on the brink of the nuclear option. This was the chasm that divided man from beasts. Wild animals from civilization. It was the final straw before anarchy. It was also the only way. His lips were dry. He eyed them both. "... underwater knife fight." He said drawing a knife from his swim trunks with wide crazy eyes. Oliver had snapped. |

Robyn looked between the two boys standing outside of the pool while they glared at one another, trying to figure out what exactly was the breaking point here for any of them. She had a shoe thrown at her, that was certainly an instigator, and now Seth and Oliver seemed to be exchanging un-pleasantries because of...something. It was what Oliver said to her with the fire of "I'm going to kill you" in his eyes that made something click. Because she could have done "it" and then he wouldn't have had to put his... Oh. Ohhhhh. Wait, seriously? This was all about the fact that Oliver was so homophobic he couldn't get over the idea of him saving another guy's life through mouth-to-mouth resuscitation? It was worth mentioning that he was well underway with the task before she even stepped foot into the pool area so she could hardly be put to blame for this. That being said, there was zero justice in him trying to peg her in the back of the head with his now-sunken shoe. She was not going to let him get away with threatening her over something she was not at fault for. Things were going to get serious. Robyn met his crazy-eyed stare with her own "this means business" expression, her mouth curling into a small frown and her eyes narrowing ever so slightly. The sun shone bright directly overhead and the pool fell silent aside from the lapping of the water against the concrete walls. The other few inhabitants of the pool quickly scurried out through the gate; parents ushered children and sunbathers hastily packed their belongings to flee. They did not want to be caught in the crossfire of what was about to go down. "Only one way to settle a dispute like this.." Robyn slowly raised her hands out of the water and brought them behind her neck, tightening the black swimsuit strings and the ones behind her back more firmly, almost like a mock version of tying on a fighter's headband. Wouldn't want a wardrobe malfunction causing her downfall. "You're going to end up with more losses than only having one dry shoe to walk home in," she called out in a low voice, poised in preparation for attack or defense, whichever happened first. She stared him down in anticipation of what he was proposing for a duel...and then he said it. "...underwater knife fight." Oliver extracted a knife from his shorts, and Robyn didn't miss a beat as she sunk into the water up to her neck and stood back up to waist level, her once-empty right hand raised above the surface of the water with her own knife. But...wasn't she just wearing a bikini? So where did it... Nevermind. |

That's a good ideait what? "Underwater knife fight?" V muttered silently as he folded his arms, considering any other options available for him to choose. But that's a stupid decision, because there was no other options in the first place. Was there any need for him to actually make a decision in the first place? Well yes, simple really. To accept his challenge or not. Waitwaitwaitwait, you're actually considering it? "Oh, but I don't have a knife..." He said, actually attempting to search for a knife that might magically appear on him, whether it be under his armpit or somewhere in his swimming trunk. No luck, no knife for him. Wait, why the hell are you actually looking for a knife? Isn't it obvious? He's accepting Oliver's challenge. Wait WHAT?! Ohnononononono!!! Can't you see that there's something terribly terribly wrong with this picture? I mean, a knife fight? Underwater??? Well, the underwater part is irrelevant but a KNIFE FIGHT, FOR CRUD'S SAKE, THAT'S JUST WRONG MAN, WRONG!!! People could actually potentially die here! And where the hell are you going, young man?! "I don't need a knife to win," V said as he walked over to the edge of the pool, his hand forming a knife and a malicious grin spread across his face. Now that Seth's out of the way he can enjoy whatever he wants to do to the fullest. And oh, there's so much that he wanted to do right now. SEEEETTTHHH!!!! WHERE ARE YOU???!!!!! |

Oliver eyed then with his blade out.. All three were in battle mode.. The three stood.. eyes narrowed. Oliver looked slowly to his left. The violet spheres settled on Robyn. His paused, lips drawn tight as his fingers slowly flexed along the blabe. He lowered it in front of him squaring his shoulders.. slowly his eyes roved over to Seth. His mouth pulled tight. His eyes roved across to the new weapon he'd forged.. He eyed his own weapon, the boy's and Robyns.. The wind blew, the only sound was the drip of water as the empty pool sloshed in the breeze. The three were all squared off.. The setting sun dipped just behind the tallest building sending an explosion of orange light like fire across the sky. The reds and oranges reflected in their eyes like the will of fire inside their hearts.. He looked slowly between them once more, no fear in his eyes, not regrets. It had come to this. Maybe it was always coming to this. From the day they'd met perhaps this was the outcome that had been inevitable. Best friends pitted against each other. Rivals, comrades.. Missions they'd done.. These people had saved his life.. He slowly worked his grip tighter. His mouth was dry. The harsh heat of early spring giving way to the struggling last fight of the chill on the breeze as the sun dipped down behind the buildings. He readied himself. "HOLD IT." Jameson said walking through them with a big float around him shaped like a sea horse. He grabbed their knives forcefully with a glare and exchanged them with loaded squirt guns. "Let's try not to KILL each other, here. you idiots." He said before wandering off. Oliver's eyes narrowed to squint. his gun at his side.. All that was left.. was to draw.. His fingers hovered... And he did! |

All Robyn could hear was the sound of her heartbeat in her chest, the movement of the water, and the wind blow past them as they stood in a stare down. She flipped the handle of the knife over in her hand slowly while simultaneously keeping an eye on the finest movements between Seth and Oliver. It was like something had flipped a switch in her. This was no longer a school yard brawl, but something that forced her to not only defend her dignity, but her entire person in general. She raised her non-weapon-holding hand and brushed some wet, dark blue hair away from her face, droplets of chlorinated water dripping down the side of her face. The sun setting in the distance forced her pupils to constrict and she could feel the warmth on her skin, but this was no time to be soaking in the sunshine. She was going to put this kid in his place, while also trying to figure out exactly what the hell Seth's problem was. Seemingly out of no where, just before things were about to get started, Jameson floated out into the pool like a parent trying to regulate (albeit one that couldn't swim). He took Oliver's weapon, but when he floated over to Robyn, she was not going to be so willing. Her grip tightened as she got into a tug o' war battle with the boss, trying to keep control of her knife in a small tussle. Unfortunately he managed to wrench it from her hands and left her with only the squirt gun. Robyn gave him an angry look and defiantly crossed her hands in front of her chest. "I better get that knife back, Jameson!" she yelled. The water gun hardly felt sufficient in her hands. It was plastic, it was cheap, and unless she hit them square in the eye, water wasn't going to do much damage. In fact, it wasn't going to do ANY damage. Then again...what was she thinking? She wasn't seriously trying to kill off her colleagues. What was wrong with her? Oh wait, Oliver threatened her, was giving her crazy eyes AND started this whole thing. That's right. Game on. Her muscles tensed as she watched Oliver take the initiative and draw his weapon first, and she reacted instinctively to point her gun back at him. Her movement was fluid and seamless, not missing a fraction of a second in her reaction to his own motion. As she held the gun out at arm's length her core tightened and her body turned slightly to the side, using the same muscle memory she was used to for her own weaponry. Finger hovering just outside the trigger well, she was ready for any move either was about to make. Bringing Robyn into a gun fight? Hah! Their odds of winning were better with a knife in her hands, but now they didn't stand a chance. She probably could've done this with her eyes closed. "Think about it, Oliver. You can still walk away and avoid getting your ass handed to you by a girl. Although it might not come as much of a surprise," she called with a small smirk. If this was going to suck up her time and kill her workout, she might as well do a bit of trash talk and have fun with it. |

But... he didn't even have a knife... Man, Jameson is so random. ...Ah well. At least now they're even. And from the looks of it this has turned from an underwater knife fight to a Mexican pool standoff. It's one versus one versus one. Somehow this reminded him of the riddle, where there's three shooters and each of them have different possibilities of hitting their target if a shootout occurs. But really, this have absolutely nothing to do with that riddle, as there's absolutely nothing mathematical about a real shootout. ...Okay, so maybe a little mathematics plays some important role here. Firstly, the forward velocity of a squirt gun's projectile (a.k.a. water) is much much much lower than that of a normal gun. Of course, everyone knows this, but it's advantageous to keep this in mind, as it doesn't shoot in a straight line. Not far, anyway. The line of fire tends to go parabolic within the first few meters. Also, it wouldn't hit the target immediately unlike a normal bullet that can reach the target almost instantaneously. There's a huge amount of delay between the squeeze of the trigger and the hit, making it easy for those with excellent reflex to dodge. Besides, a squirt gun is really just silly. Come to think of it, why exactly would he even take part in this silly little game? ...For a reason he can't explain? <_< Well, whatever. Instead of copying the other two and holding it up battle-ready in front of him, he held it slackly over his shoulder, looking less than interested about actually being involved. Of course, don't assume a calm pond doesn't have any ferocious alligators. He's just waiting for a chance. |

Oliver drew his gun! and tossed it on the ground. "THIS IS STUPID." He said suddenly, as if realizing it for the first time. ""Okay.. okay.. What's the problem here..." He said massaging his forehead trying to see where they'd gotten so lost along the way. They were originally trying to settle the score. "Knife fight was too lethal.. squirt guns don't settle anything..." He said to himself. He glowered a bit turning and eying Jameson in the pool.. Jameson splashed around cheerfully in his duck float. Not really paying attention to anything, just splashing and laughing to himself like a moron in the middle of an empty pool. ".... Huu huu huu.." A dark laugh emerged, an evil aura spread around Oliver as he turned to the others. His face twisted into a wicked smile as he wrung his hands together. His evil aura had turned into a black patch of night, surrounding his entire body. Truly this was the most insidious plot ever devised.. "The one whom shall be victorious will get the servitude of the other two... And the task is.." His eyes locked on Jameson.. specifically.. his float. "The duck must die." He said said in a low hiss. A three man race to destroy their bosses float. This was a great competition that would push them all to their absolute limits! Jameson continued splashing around obviously. .... It did nothing! |

...Now that was anti-climatic. He had actually expected some serious high-octane close-quarter squirt gun combat or whatever it's called. Guess Oliver here had more sensibility than he thought he had. V gave a small sigh, squeezing the water gun slightly and shooting a small stream of water into the air. Hey, he already thought that a Mexican pool squirt gun standoff was a silly idea in the first place. So yeah. And while the prospect of having those two as his servant for the rest of the day might be enticing, he's not exactly keen on suddenly going against Jameson for something like that. Somehow, his calm and generally flamboyant attitude playing around in the pool like a kid had this ominous aura in it. Like... a calm pool housing a crocodile or something. ...didn't he just use that earlier as a metaphor...? |
