Insects. If there was one thing Meglumar had a severe dislike about, it was insects. The horrors from his world were bad, this was true. Fire breathing hell hounds, monstrous beings of metal and bone, his aunt's cooking. But none compared to insects. It was only right that the former-keyblade knight did his best to help his new city. In this case, the situation called for some pest removal.

He had seen the fliers up, and decided to step in. There were probably other students who were on their way to do the same. He took a seat, looking over the menu of the place. ...Note to self. Star will probably like a date here." He thought to himself. Even if he WAS looking to stop whatever menaced this poor establishment....well, he could consider it for other purposes, right?

Clunk, clunk, clunk...

When the restaurant has been thrown into it's darkest state...

Clunk, clunk, clunk...

When there was no one who dared to take a step forward...

Clunk, clunk, clunk...

A boy stepped in, driven by the sense of duty and justice...

Clunk, clunk, clunk...

And the reward of a month worth of free meal...

Clunk.

Clad in bite-proof suit and bug-crushing boots, slung over his shoulder and back was three tankful of insecticide, connected by a hose and something that looked like a flamethrower held in his hands. Wrapped around his waists are about a dozen cans of insecticide, as well as two strapped to each of his hips. Over his head he wore a goggle, a military-grade gas mask, a pink-fluffy earmuff, and-

"Sheesh! V, don't you think this is a bit excessive for a little bug exterminating session?" Seth said, planting his hands on his sides. Though you can't see it through the gas mask, his face shone bright red out of embarrassment.

Excessive? V replied in his head with a trace of disbelief. You can never be too careful when you're up for an assassination job. You need to take everything that could be useful for the job.

"But still..."

Besides, doesn't this look cool?

~~~~~
Fuming, Seth kicked aside all the bug-extermination gear he had (where he actually managed to get everything in the first place, don't ask) under one of the table, ignoring V's despairing cry that no one but him could hear, leaving him with his usual black sweater and khaki colored cargo pants on.
Now, according to the flier (and by his memory), Subarashi Restaurant has been constantly swarmed by, uh... a swarm of insects, in which their origins remain unclear. It was scaring the customers from the restaurant, destroying their business. And, due to the fact that the restaurant is located at Majikku Mall, even the entire mall was in danger of shutting down because the customers were too afraid to do any shopping with ideas that the next handbag they grabbed hold of would be filled with cockroaches, bugs, and crickets. And so, long story short, Seth decided to help.
"Hi there!" Seth greeted the only one present at the restaurant. He walked briskly up to him, and gave a small bow before introducing himself, "My name's Seth. I suppose you're here for the bug extermination too?" He was told that there would be others who would be coming. And seeing as there's no one else in sight, he could be one of the 'others'.
Jonny was a tad more sensible in his approach towards the restaurant, wearing his typical red long sleeved shirt and jeans. A simple shopping bag was hung by his pocketed right arm, filled with a few productions designed specifically to deal with large scale infestation.
Whether or not any of them would actually work was another matter. He was a tad sceptical when it came to such things.
So of course, he had the traditional method for if and/or when it was needed: flyswatter.
He spotted the restaurant fairly easily, seeing as that was the place that was all but abandoned, save for two people currently waiting outside it. One of whom, he recognized rather easily.
"Yo Seth, how's it going?" He greeted the lad, before turning to the other.
"Name's Jonny Desmond. You?"
Lucidus walked into the restaaurant in his usual outfit, he had heard about insect problems. Grant he was suprised why the whole area was still intact, the bugs on his home world often had the abillity to completely obliterate small towns on their own. Maybe the insects in this world were different, Lucidus shrugged he was about to find out.
As he entered the restaraunt he noticed several people, it was his fellow off worlder and that kid that he met at the club a while ago. He didn't quite remember his name, but he walked over anyways. As always it was in everyone's most proficient language, Lucidus loved the translation device. It was worth every single gem he payed.
"Hey, my fellow offworlder, How goes it Meglumar?" He hadn't adjusted to the different way of talking to people in this world at the current point in time, he was working on it however. "On and to the rest of you my name's Lucidus Levis." He ruffled his own hair while he looked around. "The insects must be very different in this world, otherwise this establishment wouldn't be here if they were the same." Lucidus turned back and smiled. "It looks like this is going to be extremely interesting."
"Ah.. So you all came for the bug problem.." The manager from Subarashii said with a sigh of relief. "W-well.. I suppose there's no use hiding it any longer. News has spread all over town.." He said with a gloomy expression. "My store is excellent! We serve the highest quality food! And yet.." He exhaled a long weary sigh of defeat.
"Come with me.." He said motioning for them all to follow him through the store. He brought them down into the cellar. "This is where they always come from.." He said looking around "How they get in, I do not know." It was a large boxy room with sealed containers scattered around.
The room was otherwise unremarkable. "Well then.. I'll leave you too it. Should you succeed I'll give you boys free passes to eat here as much as you want!"
And in no time flat someone already had arrived. "Ah. Yes. I am." Meglumar said in response to the arriving student. "My name is-" he began before getting cut off by a second arrival. Both of these people were new faces. Well, new to him. "My name is-" Meglumar started before being beaten to the punch by Lucidus, who also arrived. "I fair well, thank you. As he has said, my name is Meglumar, of the Odai family." He said, finally able to get his name out.
Of course, then the manager came, requesting they follow. In no time at all, they found themselves in the basement, with containers everywhere. Meglumar looked around as the manager spoke. The reward was free passes of food at this location. Well. That sealed it. He had to get this job done. Free food for this place? That'd be a pretty good deal.
Meglumar nodded to the manager. "I will not rest until we get this solved." He said, before looking to the rest of the group. "Perhaps we should check these containers. It does not appear there are any other ways in than the way we came."
"You think maybe there's, like... a hidden entrance or something, behind all these?" He said, glancing around the room littered with crates and boxes, stacked haphazardly against each other. For a moment there the clean-freak thought, it's no wonder this place would be swarmed with pests. Doesn't he ever clean this place? It's damp, dank, dusty, smelly, swelteringly hot, uh... doesn't want to describe...
He took a short walk around the cellar, peering over some of the crates (and finding something fairly unpleasent) as he went. "Think we should move these stuff around first? Look for, I dunno..." He shrugged once, "Any clues... like... something that would attract... so much... bugs?" His sentence trailed off. Why do the bugs only swarm this place, and not the other crapload of restaurants all around the city?
Of course, this place IS the best place for lunch...
The three were soon joined by a fourth member, who gave the offhand comment of him and the other guy being... offworlders? What, did that mean these guys were aliens or something?
Regardless, the introductions were all settled, and the manager came out to them.
Jonny had been intending to help anyway, but the promise of free passes made this an even more worthwhile investment.
As they discussed what exactly to do first, Jonny took a good look around. He'd probably be using a lot of soap up after today.
"Both points could explain it, I suppose." He approached a nearby container, knocking it a couple of times to see if something reacted inside.
"Hey, Manager, is it okay if we open a few of these? Just to be on the safe side?"
He followed the manager down to the cellar along with the others. While he was helping out of the good will of his own heart, as well as Fenrus's nagging, Lucidus would gladly accept the offer of the free food. It would make it really cool if he didn't have to pay to eat somewhere. Especially when he was feeling hungry for some well cooked meals.
Lucidus looked around the basement there wasn't many things there to explain such a large amount of insects. At least from a quick scan over the place, as the others mentioned the possibillities of the bugs being in the container and looking for clues Lucidus was walking around mostly doing the latter.
"Yes, those ideas are indeed a smart thing to do to start." Lucidus walked over to a container and looked at it, he couldn't quite tell just from looking at the crates though. "How long have the insects been around here for?" Informaiton was an important part of solving any mystery, so getting some background information was one of the priorities on Lucidus's list and it was quite high up on the list.
"The containers are sealed and have never been tampered with..." He said motioning towards a single box with a sticker on the side over the seal ."As you can see here, it's unbroken and unmoved, even unwrinkled. We take pride in our food quality. Most of this gets used in a week.. It shouldn't be my crates.."
He planted his hands on his sides with a sigh, clearly preoccupied by various responsibilities. "I'm going to leave it to you boys.. Keep searching and if you find anything come tell me.." He said before ascending the stairs leaving the boys behind to search the premises.
The cellar was quiet but for their movement when he left. The entire room was still. However there was the faintest of sounds and curiously enough, a draft in the underground sealed cellar.. Seemingly originating from one floor tile..
"Huh. Guess we're on our own," He said, as he began sifting through the sealed wooden crates that was most definitely NOT rotten in any way whatsoever. Do not let the rotting wood stench fool you. None of the wooden boxes here was damaged. 'Nuff said.
Seth...
"Not now V, looking for clues," Said Seth, moving some of the boxes out of the way.
Seth.
"I'm working here~"
Humph. Fine then. I won't even care. V said with a huff, and ceased to talk again afterward. The crate moving thing made enough noise that easily masked over the faint sound that seemed to come from the single floor tile under his left foot.
Hmm. One of the others was talking to himself. Clearly insane. He nodded to the manager as he left, before leaning against the wall. Okay. Hmm. If the boxes were sealed there had to be something he was missing. Meglumar began to think hard, not sure what would work here. There was only ONE entrance. It was blatant, and obvious. Maybe the bugs burrowed in and left holes? No, no, that would make no sense, the holes would still be here. Unless they went single file but that would just be plain stupid.
His ears twitched as he heard something. "You there, Seth, right?" He said, mentally avoiding to add crazy in there somewhere. "Are you making that noise?" He asked, not sure where else it could be coming from. It SOUNDED like it was coming from him, at least...
Well, that pretty much ruled out his theory - creatures couldn't have gotten in without being noticed by the people packing them. And you'd think that a swarm of bugs sitting inside a box during loading would be noticed. He looked around, trying to think of other possibilities of where someone may have come in. Holes in the room? Those would have been pretty noticeable... unless they were hidden under the crates perhaps? But how in the heck would a bunch of bugs seal up such a thing?
"Never know, given this town..." He muttered as he stooped down to the floor, and began to closely examine it, going up to the crates. There had to be something down here...
