Selene performed a final round of inspections as the last of her personal effects are finally moved into her new residence. Same dormitory block, but a different room - which was probably for the better, since truth be told the English heiress wasn't too fond of staying on the ground floor. Of course, she was needless to say pleased to learn that fortune had smiled on her that the new room she was reassigned to was the one occupied by someone whom she was pretty familiar with - and that someone was none other than Yuki Tsukiyoru. But for now, Selene's attention was on getting her part of the bedroom redecorated according to the specs of the original as the corporate heiress held a photograph of her bedroom space, taken just prior to moving out of her old room, comparing the way her belongings and area decorations are being laid out currently with the way they originally were in the photograph. So far, so good it seems, and the corporate heiress couldn't help but take a step back to see how the shifting turned out, a smile on her face as she folded her arms across her chest. And then was there is other girl who was also roomed in this dorm? As far as she knew Yuki never said anything about another girl staying here, which would make them three in total. But with luck, the corporate heiress supposed she'd be seeing her second roomie soon enough... |

Yuki beamed with the light of a thousand suns as she carried the reusable totes of groceries up the stairs of the dorm. She had just acquired a new roommate and it was who other than her first Hyakuji acquaintance, Yuki-declared mini idol, and heiress to one of the largest something-or-other industries, Selene Frostfire. This girl had been kind enough to take her under her wing when she first arrived, and for whatever reason the two always ended up in some sort of crazy shenanigans together. Thus she was fiercely loyal to this girl and was more than thrilled to have her as a new roomie. It helped that she'd always had aspirations of having a roommate and becoming BFFs and doing also sorts of fun things together, but this was the icing on the cake. It was like having a super fun, nice, British celebrity move in with her. Lucky for Selene, Yuki kept her like for the girl at a "sub-Swimfan" level and was at least sane enough to know not to turn into a stalker. While Selene was back in the room rearranging her belongings that Yuki helped her move from the first floor to hers, Yuki had gone out to the grocery store to pick up a few items. It was clear that the only way to celebrate the new rooming situation was to have a cook-in! Yuki happily agreed to pick up the food as long as Selene could teach her a thing or two beyond boiling water when it came to cooking skills. Yuki struggled a bit to get the door open with all of the bags of food, but she managed and shuffled into the room. "Selene-san, Nora! I'm home!" she called out with a giggle. "I got everything on the list and it wasn't even that expensive. How's the decorating coming along?" she asked after hefting the bags up onto the small dining table. She began putting stuff away, particularly things that needed to be frozen or refrigerated. Yuki had gotten better about controlling herself and no longer acted on her excitement to hug poor Selene every time she walked in the room. Fortunately she realized that was a bit over the top and reined herself in after the third bout of it. It'd be unfortunate if she drove the girl out within the first few days of rooming together. But given how happy Yuki was to have even one roommate, who knew what would happen if a third person was thrown into the mix. |

Deprivation of sleep combined with exhaustion wasn’t a particularly great combination, in Mitsuko’s case she had just been on a long delayed flight combined with an irritating walk from the nearby town all the way to the school, then around the school a few times as she tried desperately to sort out where she was supposed to be staying. This left the girl literally dragging the two carrier cases she held along the floor with her body hunched forwards, as she made her way across the dormitory corridor, half about to flop onto her face and fall fast asleep that second. The numbers on the doors were pretty confusing but she’d figured out their pattern and knew she’d soon be at her new room, hopefully with a bed all sorted out so she could dump her bags underneath it and lay down. It was at that second that Mitsuko spotted something, a person, the sight caused Mitsuko to jump in fright and quickly dart around the nearby corner, peering out nervously to make sure she hadn’t been noticed. The girl was carrying a load of shopping bags and seemed to be having trouble opening the door, any normal person would have offered help but Mitsuko had already been forced to talk with far too many people today already so the thought of being dragged into another conversation made her feel sick to her stomach. The girl finally opened the door and walked through resulting in Mitsuko sighing in relief, wiping her forehead with the back of her hand afterwards mostly for emphasis on how glad she was she’d remained unnoticed. Soon after Mitsuko had picked her carrier case back up and began walking down the corridor once more, still counting the numbers on the doors till finally at long last she came to her own. There was a brief moment of joy for Mitsuko at the sight of the door, followed suddenly by an awful feeling of horror as she realised something awful. This was the door that girl had just gone through, so did this mean that girl was trying to rob things from inside before Mitsuko turned up? Or even worse, was that her new roomate? Mitsuko’s eyes closed tight to prevent a stream of tears pouring down her cheeks, the girl she’d just seen was so pretty, with really nice long hair and a beautiful winter ensemble. Mitsuko opened her eyes back up immediately stopping the river of tears as she looked down at her own clothes, ugly black hoodie and nasty dirty jeans. Her eyes then glanced back towards her carrier cases which she still held tightly in her grasp, maybe she should find somewhere to get changed so she wouldn’t feel so outcast? Mitsuko sighed deeply at this thought, it was too much of a bother for her to want to go through with it, she’d have to find a place to get changed and then pick out something better than what she had on right now and that would take too long. It was really awful but Mitsuko knew she’d just have to psyche herself up and forget about all of her worries, just open up the door and get all of this done with. She closed her eyes tight and bit her bottom lip, trying as hard as she could to focus on not feeling nervous and putting on a brave face. Suddenly her arm whipped upwards slamming the carrier case she held against the door causing a loud thud, okay so she’d forgotten she was still holding that but that wasn’t too much of a problem. Immediately afterwards Mitsuko tugged down on the handle and flung the door open. Still with her eyes closed tightly she stood in the doorway, with her carrier cases in her hands rested down on the floor either side of her and a huge fake grin on her face that probably looked pretty scary to most people. “Hyeeeeeeh Ayyyeeeee’m..” Mitsuko announced through unnecessarily loud nervous laughter, though there was another loud bang as the door slammed against the wall on the inside of the dorm room, she’d obviously opened the door to hard, “..Keeeyohbiyaaahshhiiiii!!!” Edited by Nines, Feb 27 2011, 12:37 PM.

"Selene-san, Nora! I'm home!" Yuki's saccharine voice called out from the living area, signaling Yuki's return from her shopping trip. Well, now that was a little embarrassing for her to have forgotten about the little cook-in they had planned out, considering how meticulous the English heiress was in keeping a journal of things from corporate matters to things involving her friends. Otherwise she would've helped her pink-haired friend out with the groceries instead of decorating her room. Wasn't that a little selfish of her? After all, she could always decorate her room later, couldn't she? "I got everything on the list and it wasn't even that expensive. How's the decorating coming along?" the pink-haired girl asked as she set the reusable shopping tote bags on a nearby dining table. "I'm happy to announce that it's all done; thanks for the help, Yuki-chan," Selene smiled and nodded as Yuki began putting away the cold stuff, which obviously need to be either kept in the fridge or frozen. "And please, allow me to return the favour." the corporate heiress gave Yuki one of her charming smiles as she took out a packet of eggs - a dozen - and put them into the fridge after the dairy products. Once all the stuff that needs to be promptly kept under cold storage were safely kept away from the ravages of heat and humidity, then the two girls could get down to planning what culinary delights they could get down to creating to treat themselves with. "But first things first..." Selene's voice trailed off as she headed back to the kitchen, returning moments later with her prized tea set, setting down the exquisitely-crafted porcelain ware pot and cups with silverware teaspoons upon the dining table with a triumphant smile. She'd just bought a new batch of high-grade tea leaves from the tea merchant several days ago, and chief among her new acquisitions she couldn't wait to try out was Silver Needle, the most prized variety of white tea, cultivated in the Fujian Province of China. A good-quality tea, for a joyous occasion. "Say, Yuki-chan... any suggestions on what we should make?" the corporate heiress suggested. “Hyeeeeeeh Ayyyeeeee’m..” A heavily-accented girl's voice called out from the entrance just as Selene was about to head off to the kitchen to make some hot water for the tea - hot water, not boiling water, as much like green tea the flavor of white tea is easily destroyed if one messes up the water temperature. The corporate heiress paused, looking at the new arrival. Short black hair, black hoodie and jeans - she certainly stood out from Selene's elegant upper-class style, and Yuki's cute and perky style. But could she be the new roomie she'd been hearing she and Yuki will be getting? “..Keeeyohbiyaaahshhiiiii!!!” The corporate heiress cringed as the new arrival opened the door so hard that it slammed against the wall, her eyes briefly shutting tight as if part of the impact magically transferred to her. Not that anything of the sort happened, but crass behavior generally doesn't make Selene feel too good. "Good day to you?" Selene greeted, still using her polite and friendly voice, although her tone wavered slightly with uncertainty, unsure of what to make of this new girl. "My name is Selene Frostfire," the corporate heiress took hold of her skirt and gave the new girl a curtsy before gesturing towards the pink-haired girl next to her. "And this is Yuki Tsukiyoru. Are you our new roommate?" Selene asked. |

"I'm happy to announce that it's all done; thanks for the help, Yuki-chan," Selene responded with a smile to the girl's question. Yuki beamed in return and shook her head. "It was nothing at all! It'd be ridiculous for you to move in and me to not offer any help. I like that you've arranged everything..." Yuki looked over Selene's set-up and had a mad rush of deja-vu. It was almost like the heiress brought in a giant forklift and manually installed her room from the first floor. "...exactly the way you had it before! It'll be almost like you never even moved. Well, except you'll have to make a serious comittment to never needing more than a week's worth of groceries as any more than that is a real trouble hauling up the stairs..." She drifted off into thought about a few trips she took where she'd waited far too long to shop (i.e. after her winter break) and nearly threw her back out carrying bags up the stairs. These dorms really needed an elevator at times. Selene was timely enough to bring her back to reality before she spaced out for too long with her tea suggestion. Yuki blinked a few times, her eyes widening as she marveled over the beautiful tea set. Even if they were only dishes, and they were still in the dorms, it made the girl feel like she was staying at a fancy hotel with only the finest amenities. And she had a strong affinity for shiny things, so that didn't help matters. "Say, Yuki-chan... any suggestions on what we should make?" "Uhwhaa...?" Yuki blinked and snapped out of her sparkly trance. "Oh! Um, well, I bought us some fresh vegetables that we can either cook up or leave as they are, and then I bought some things to make pasta! Like...stuff to make the sauce, and some bread to toast..." Her voice trailed off as she wrung her hands together in slight nervousness. She was taking a leap of faith by choosing this type of food, but she figured if she was British then she probably liked western-style food. And this was the best thing she could think of and still afford. "I hope that's alright, I really should've asked you first! I was just so excited that we would get to--" The initial opening of the door caused Yuki to jump, not anticipating someone walking into the room. Nora darted behind Yuki's bed, engaging invisible mode. The, "Hyeeeeeeh Ayyyeeeee’m Keeeyohbiyaaahshhiiiii!!!" that proceeded the door opening nearly made Yuki drop the tea cup she'd picked up at which to look, and she was barely able to make out what she said through her thick accent. The second slamming of the door into the wall further frazzled the shocked girl. Selene took it upon herself to introduce the two of them while Yuki gathered her wits about her, shakily setting the cup carefully back onto its saucer. "Are you our new roommate?" Yuki looked from Selene, over to the girl in the hoodie and jeans, then back to Selene, then back to the other girl. A third roommate? Was this for real? As if rooming with her newest best friend wasn't great enough, her dreams of having a group of roommates with which to share secrets and more cook-ins with were being realized at a record pace. Yuki began to swell up with excitement and turned toward the new girl with watery eyes and a hopeful glance. "You...you're our new roommate?" Unable to contain herself, she launched forward and enveloped the baggage-laden girl in a giant hug with an even bigger smile. "I'm so glad!!" Once the girl likely had the wind properly knocked out of her, Yuki released her from her clutches, walked around behind her, and ushered her and her luggage into the room without hesitation. Next came the arsenal of excited chatter, not pausing long enough for the new girl to get a word in herself. "It's so nice to meet you, um...Kiyobiyashi-san..? At least I'm pretty sure that's what you said...Is that what we should call you? And you're just in time for our cook-in! Is spaghetti alright? If you don't like spaghetti I'm sure we can find something else. This is my bed and that's Selene's, but you can pick either of the two remaining beds..." It was like she'd transformed into a five-year-old and was showing her new friend everything in the room. |

“Eyeh eyeh Kieyohbiyeshi-seyn weteeveh,” Mitsuko replied bluntly, she had completely mispronounced her name but she really didn’t want to start repeating her name over and over again for her to finally get it right, or write it down on a piece of paper. Besides Mitsuko was too busy being absolutely stunned by the sight of such a gigantic room, she walked slowly inside, leaving the door open as she did as she studied the room in total awe. It was so huge, much bigger than what she had expected, it even had it’s own miniature kitchen with a fridge and a cooker in the corner, even though it was pretty much useless to her as Mitsuko didn’t know the first thing about cooking. “This is my bed and that's Selene's, but you can pick either of the two remaining beds..." Upon hearing this Mitsuko span around on the spot, hurtling the two carrier cases across the ground so that they slid across the floor towards one of the empty beds. One of them went straight underneath the bed and hit the wall on the other side with a dull thud, whilst the other slammed into the metal framework of the bed causing a tremendous clanging sound. This was shortly followed by Mitsuko jumping across the length of the room, landing on top of the bed so she could rest her head against the pillow, sighing in relief as she could finally get comfortable after such a long day of walking. “Aye peek theese win,” She replied happily. Mitsuko had been walking all day and had been through a long flight sitting on a very uncomfortable seat, she didn’t care if jumping on top of the bed like how she did might be considered rude, she was getting some much needed rest. Suddenly she rolled over onto her back, crossing her legs over and bending them up some so she could get into an even more comfortable position. “Sew wit ye seeyin abeyut spegeetii?” She asked curiously, “Ayeyid eyeefir ti heewp bet aye aint naw gud eet ceekyin ye sii.” From this position Mitsuko could only see the ceiling, there was something about the ceiling which seemed odd to her though but she just couldn’t get it out of her head. It looked pretty clean, far too clean for the ceiling of a student dormitory, then again everything in this dorm was clean. At that thought her heart sunk into her chest, one of these girl’s didn’t happen to be a neat freak did they? |

"You...you're our new roommate?" Yuki asked hopefully, her eyes sparkly and watery before literally throwing herself at the new arrival and giving her a nice big hug, eliciting a giggle from Selene. Yep, talk about a warm welcome indeed. Selene had tasted it herself when she first moved in with Yuki. While the pink-haired girl didn't appear strong by anyone's standards, she certainly packed one tight hug. "It's so nice to meet you, um...Kiyobiyashi-san..? At least I'm pretty sure that's what you said...Is that what we should call you? And you're just in time for our cook-in! Is spaghetti alright? If you don't like spaghetti I'm sure we can find something else. This is my bed and that's Selene's, but you can pick either of the two remaining beds..." Selene scratched her head slightly over the new girl's accent - it was thick and heavy, and while the corporate heiress was properly schooled in Japanese prior to arriving in Hyakuji, an accent like their new roomie's was a little hard to follow for her, although she guessed it was probably a Kansai regional accent. She probably hails from Osaka or one of the regional cities; she certainly had more of a city-goer look than a country girl look, as far as the corporate heiress could tell. “Eyeh eyeh Kieyohbiyeshi-seyn weteeveh,” Mitsuko replied bluntly, before examining her new surroundings with a sense of amazement. "I believe her name would be pronounced as 'Kobayashi'," Selene corrected; of course she knew that no one was really to blame, between Yuki's excitement and Mitsuko's accent it was easy to mispronounce. "I'm glad to know you're already making yourself at home," Selene nodded as she gave the new girl a cheerful smile as she picked out one of the two remaining beds, and in a rather childish burst of excitement plopped herself right onto the mattress, lying on her back. “Sew wit ye seeyin abeyut spegeetii?” She asked curiously, “Ayeyid eyeefir ti heewp bet aye aint naw gud eet ceekyin ye sii.” "No worries about being not good at cooking," Selene replied reassuringly. "We'll just pitch in according to the best of each of our abilities; you came at just the right time - after all, part of the pleasure of sitting down for a meal is the social interaction... so the more, the merrier." The English heiress smiled as she placed her hands on her hips, before suddenly perking up and making a clicking noise by snapping her fingers. The tea! "But first, how does some tea sound for the both of you?" the corporate heiress asked as she rolled up her sleeves and headed over to their mini-kitchen to prepare a kettle and some water. |

"I believe her name would be pronounced as 'Kobayashi'," Selene pointed out to excited girl. Yuki perked up her ears to what she corrected her to say, and some color started to flush into her cheeks at the realization that she'd mispronounced the new girl's name. What more, someone whose first language wasn't even Japanese was picking up the foreign accent better than she could. Although the jean-clad girl didn't seem to mind too much, Yuki couldn't help but feel slightly downtrodden at her first impression. Hopefully that didn't dampen things too much between the two new roommates. As quickly as her mood had switched from excited to embarrassed, she was reminded of what they were doing before Mitsuko walked in and immediately rekindled her happiness. Luckily this girl didn't switch between negative moods as much as she did the happy ones. "Sew wit ye seeyin abeyut spegeetii? Ayeyid eyeefir ti heewp bet aye aint naw gud eet ceekyin ye sii." Ohh...crap. What did she just say? Something about spaghetti and some other words... Living with this girl was going to be a whole 'nother linguistic adventure for poor Yuki. She would probably just have to make up for it with being extremely friendly and hoping her English heiress translator would be around. Every time this girl said something. "No worries about being not good at cooking." Cooking?? I didn't hear ANYthing about cooking... Yuki thought to herself in a panic, amazed at how easily Selene was picking up this girl's accent. "We'll just pitch in according to the best of each of our abilities; you came at just the right time - after all, part of the pleasure of sitting down for a meal is the social interaction... so the more, the merrier." Truer words could not have been spoken as Yuki nodded sagely in agreement, arms folded in front of her. At the mention of tea, Yuki couldn't help but perk up. She never realized how much skill went into brewing a proper cup of tea, and how much it affected the flavor, and Selene had it down pat. "Oh yes! Tea for me, please! And I'll bring down something to much on as some sort of an appetizer while we cook. Let's see what we have..." She pulled open a few cupboard doors and looked inside. After all, she'd just gone to the grocery store so there was bound to be something for them to nibble on. With the arrival of her new roommate, their cupboards had filled up substantially. Apparently part of having money at your disposal meant you also could fill up your food supply on more than just ramen and rice cakes. She gleaned over the colorful and shiny wrappers containing various types of cookies and crackers and other Japanese-oriented snacks. The downside to having so much food was Yuki was forced to start storing stuff on the upper shelves that she couldn't reach. She was only slightly shorter than Selene, but a few inches made a world of difference when it came to reaching for things high up. The pink-haired girl tried to discreetly stand on her tip-toes to reach the particular package of cookies she wanted, one hand on the kitchen counter for balance and the fingers from her other hand trying to flick the package off of the shelf. Finding that discreet wasn't working, she promptly jumped up and grabbed hold of the package. The problem with jumping was her accuracy went down significantly, so although she DID grab the cookies she wanted, the sudden sloppy motion in turn knocked down a few other things from the shelf. One box of crackers fell into the pot of water that'd been put to boil for the noodles, which forced her to move out of the way of the hot splash of water and quickly yank out the box before it got too wet. Unfortunately this directed her attention away from a few packs of ramen that crashed to the floor, and to finish things off a bag of biscotti nailed her in the head which elicited a yelp. Squinting an eye and rubbing her forehead with the back of one hand where she'd been clobbered, she stood amongst the pile of food that surrounded her. Her first reaction was an embarrassed laugh, feebly holding up the bag of cookies. "Got what I was looking for! Eheheh...heh..." She set down the half-wet box of crackers and slid the cookies on top of their small dining table. Yuki picked up the bag of biscotti and the ramen, hastily tossing them up into the cupboard. So much for attempting to make a graceful impression on their new acquaintance. |

Mitsuko was oblivious to how difficult her accent was being to the other two, if Yuki had spoken up perhaps Mitsuko would have made a small attempt to speak slower or use the correct dialect terms so that her voice could be more clearly understood. Well probably not, remembering to do these things was difficult. All she could think about right now though was how annoying this Selene’s voice was to her, it didn’t sound quite right, too polite and it made her pretty difficult to understand apart from a few key words. Her latest statement was something about tea, at least that was what Mitsuko was assuming. She rolled onto her side and propped her head in her hand so that she could actually see the two as they talked to her, stretching out a little bit in the process for comfort. “Yew dun heevteh eesk me fur tee yew elreedi neeyoh weer eeverithinis.” She replied politely, though her tone expressed how confused she was at this current place in time. Mitsuko had completely misunderstood what Selene had just said, rather than taking it as an invitation for tea she’d thought she had asked Mitsuko if she could have some tea. It seemed a little weird to her that this girl who had clearly already set herself up in this room was asking Mitsuko permission to drink tea, maybe it was a quirky tradition from whatever country this girl came from, as from the sound of her voice she clearly didn’t come from Japan. Thinking about tradition suddenly shocked Mitsuko as she remembered something she’d forgotten to do before she entered the room. She sprung up on the bed and bent forwards, tugging firmly at her shoe laces and undoing them before quickly kicking them off one after another in rapid succession. Unfortunately her haste to take her shoes off as quickly as possible got the better of her and her shoes shot forwards like bullets, one smashed into the table next to Yuki whilst the other bounced off the ceiling and landed next to the pot of warm water, settling next to the pot on top of the cooker. The resulting chaos of the two simultaneous incidents left the once tidy room immediately messy, the sight of this combined with Mitsuko’s panic over not taking her shoes off caused her to bow her head down low, causing her to look quite strange sitting on the edge of the bed in this position. “Seereh seereh seereh,” She apologised repeatedly. Damn, Mitsuko had already been in this room for a few minutes and already she’d made a mess and insulted everyone by her rude behaviour, things like this always seemed to happen when she was tired. |

As Yuki got down to work on searching for some snacks to go along with the tea, Selene got down to work on preparing the tea, carefully monitoring the water being boiled in the kettle all the while. Much like green tea, white tea isn't to be brewed using boiling water as it would ruin the flavor due to the delicate nature of white tea - instead, the water temperature required should ideally be just below boiling, or roughly 90° centigrade. “Yew dun heevteh eesk me fur tee yew elreedi neeyoh weer eeverithinis.” Mitsuko replied politely, clearly misunderstanding Selene's statement, which in turn drew Selene's attention from monitoring her boiling kettle of water to their somewhat androgynous-looking roomie, giving the black-haired girl a curious look, clearly confused over what she was saying. "Oh no, it's not what I meant, Kobayashi-san," Selene replied with a chuckle, putting her hands in front of her and shaking them about to add emphasis that the other girl got it all wrong. "What I meant is whether you want to have a cup of tea as well." The corporate heiress smiled as she gently tapped her index finger on the teapot of her English tea set. Selene then turned her attention back to Yuki, who appeared to be standing on the tip of her toes trying to reach to the upper rack for snacks that would go along with their tea. "Yuki-chan, are you sure you don't need any hel-" Selene's query on whether her pink-haired friend needed a helping hand was cut short as she jumped up in an attempt to grab a box of cookies, but in the process - rather predictably - knocked other items off the shelf. As a packet of crackers fell into an open pot of hot water that was in the process of being boiled to make noodles, the corporate heiress flinched on reflex, narrowly avoiding a splash of near-boiling water as she raised her arms protectively over her face and chest, before looking up just as Yuki fished the crackers out of the water, only to get hit on the head by a falling bag of biscotti. "Got what I was looking for! Eheheh...heh..." Selene couldn't help but giggle along as Yuki set the cookies and a half-wet box of crackers on the table before proceeding to keep the other stuff that they didn't need. Before the corporate heiress could return to her tea-brewing however, she received the shock of her life as a shoe suddenly landed between her kettle and the pot! "Cor blimey!" Selene exclaimed as she reeled at the sight, glancing towards the direction the flying shoe came from. It clearly wasn't her own, and neither did it seem like the type of shoe Yuki would wear... and that could only mean... “Seereh seereh seereh,” Mitsuko apologized as Selene sighed slightly, somewhat ashamed over how she'd allowed herself to be lost to a fit of 'hysterics'. "I guess your shoes can't wait to have some tea!" the English heiress joked, trying to lighten up the mood in order to show her new roomie that she wasn't offended. Taking the kettle off the cooker, Selene proceeded to first rinse three teacups and the interior of the teapot. washing them gently before emptying out the used water into a sink, before setting the kettle on an electric hot plate to maintain it at the ideal 90°C for brewing white tea, followed-up by opening the airtight container holding the tea leaves, first catching a whiff of the tea leaves' fragrance before putting a measure of tea leaves into the teapot. "Well, let the tea steep for a minute or two and it's all ready," Selene said as she added hot water into the teapot before covering the lid and setting the teapot with three empty teacups on a silverware tray and bringing them over to the dining table. |

Right after she had got done re-organizing everything back into the cupboard, Yuki couldn't help but jump with shock at the sudden clang that came from a flying shoe in hers and Selene's direction. She threw up her hands to block any other potential flying objects from Mitsuko in case she happened to be bipolar and was in the middle of a bout of rage, clenching her eyes shut in anticipation of pain. Once a few moments passed and nothing else happened, she figured it was safe enough to open her eyes and slowly drop her guard. That was close. "I guess your shoes can't wait to have some tea!" Yuki let out a laugh at the heiress's pristine sense of humor. She'd never seen the girl truly angry except that one time she got trapped in the net at the mall...and even that was just frustration. She really was a good role model behavior-wise even at such a young age. Mitsuko proceeded to (what Yuki assumed was) apologize for the shoe incident, but as far as Yuki was concerned, no harm, no foul. Yuki shuffled over to the door to the hallway in her white bunny slippers and picked up one of the extra pairs they had for guests, setting them on the floor by the bed where Mitsuko sat in apology. They were a light green hue, soft and fuzzy, not your typical plain rubber guest sandal. "A-ano...I don't know if you brought any slippers, or if you did if you know where they're packed, so until then please use these! They're one of our extra pairs, hardly ever used." For good measure to make it seem like she'd had guests once in a while Yuki tried to pawn the slippers off as "gently used." Truth be told, she had been a little ambitious and went out to buy guest slippers a long time ago, and they had never actually been worn before. She lacked the foresight to realize any in-dorm visitors would likely shuffle from their room to hers in her own footwear, or would only be stopping by to pick her up or drop something off. "Well, let the tea steep for a minute or two and it's all ready," Selene called out to the two other occupants as she went about setting up the table for their snack. Yuki happily shuffled back over to the table and plopped herself down on one of the four chairs, snagging a cookie from the bag and popping it into her mouth. Mitsuko would find out soon enough Yuki's quasi-supernatural ability to put away junk food like no other. She reached over and pulled out the two chairs on either side of her where the cups were set up, patting the seat to her left. "Have a seat, Kobayashi-san! Selene makes the best tea, I promise!" she beamed, as if Selene were her student and she taught her all she knew about brewing (hardly the case). "Tell us about yourself, then when we're done with tea and cookies we'll start in on dinner!" Yuki almost seemed to radiate energy as she thrived off the life source of her new roommate (but not really). She was going to make a real effort to make the girl feel at home, and she'd do her best to nail that dialect as best she could. The other two better sit fast since Yuki already demolished a good quarter of the bag of cookies without blinking or seeming to notice. Dangerous was the girl with idol hands, empty brain, and a bottomless pit for a stomach. Nora on the other hand had hid between the wall and the side of Yuki's bed throughout the entire encounter between the three girls. She had initiated her invisibility as she was used to doing around strangers, trying to get a vibe from the new girl on whether or not she could be considered safe and trustworthy. As Yuki's guardian it was her duty to make sure she was protected, and she certainly didn't want to lose sleep watching the girl to make sure she wasn't going to get stabbed in the middle of the night. So far, the only thing she noticed was her struggle with social skills. She decided to stay put a little bit longer until Yuki gave her the OK to come out...as long as she didn't forget about her completely as has been known to happen with roommate or fast food situations. |

Thankfully nobody was insulted or annoyed by the shoe incident, Mitsuko wasn’t the type to put too much effort into politeness but she’d just hate the thought of irritating the two who were to be her roomates for the next few years. Upon being given the shoes Mitsuko lifted them up and stared at them, an eyebrow arched upwards slightly. Despite Yuki’s promises that they had been hardly ever used she wasn’t going to be putting them on any time soon, despite the fact that her now shoeless feet were getting a bit cold with only her white socks to cover them up. With a soft shrug Mitsuko tossed them aside so that they landed on the foot of her new bed, before hopping down onto the floor and unzipping the carrier case that had previously thudded against the bed’s metal frame. She began tugging out the neatly folded clothing and placing them carelessly down beside her so that they scrunched all up, which was strange considering the care and effort made to make sure they were so precisely stored though it had been Mitsuko’s mother who had done this and not her so she didn’t care if her clothes got creases. "Tell us about yourself, then when we're done with tea and cookies we'll start in on dinner!" Mitsuko grinned nervously at the thought of telling the two about herself, it really wasn’t her sort of thing but she guessed she might as well make an effort. How was she supposed to do this though? Just tell them about her life? There really wasn’t much to say. Then again these two had no idea who she was really. She could just make something up and they’d be none the wiser, which caused her nervous grin to switch suddenly to one of enjoyment at the thought of this. It would be prudent to point out that if the girls were paying attention they’d see that all of Mitsuko’s clothes were pretty simplistic and boyish, several pairs of the same stonewashed jeans, a few black hoodies, a few grey hoddies, some coloured T-shirts lacking any form of decorative print. “Eeeym.. Wyel ye’men eeleeeyin frem.. Mers.” She lied, it was the first thing that popped into her head and for some reason she was thinking of aliens, “Aye kyyaaaame heerta.. Myeke peese wethya heyumins.” She really wasn’t paying too much attention to her new roomates as she spoke, she was still focused on digging through her carrier case to find her slippers. Eventually though she found them which caused her to smile happily at the sight, they were brown, a pretty ugly brown at that, and they were also very badly worn, but they were her ugly brown badly worn slippers so that was all that mattered. Mitsuko took them out of the carrier case and was about to put them on but before she had a chance she caught glimpse of something they’d been set on top of, as if they’d been positioned there to hide this foreign object from view. She set the slippers aside next to her before lifting this item of clothing upwards out of the carrier case, it was a stark contrast to everything else she owned, an incredibly adorable lemon yellow dress. Mitsuko glared at this dress as she held it up to look at, grinding her teeth slightly in the process through irritation. Just at that moment a brown envelope slid out from inside the dress, falling back inside of the carrier case. The dress must have been folded around the envelope for a reason. "A-ano...I don't know if you brought any slippers, or if you did if you know where they're packed, so until then please use these! They're one of our extra pairs, hardly ever used." Despite Yuki's kind intentions behind her gift - a pair of green bunny slippers - to Mitsuko as a gesture of friendship Selene had to wonder if it was really right to give away second-hand stuff as a present without coming off as somewhat insincere; would they be unintentionally offensive to the new girl by making her feel poor? After all, the true spirit of giving should involve actually putting in some thought about the needs of the other party, and not simply taking stuff you no longer need and then offering them up as hand-me-downs, no? But then again, the slippers were hardly ever used and therefore in an almost pristine condition - if Yuki hadn't said she has had them around for some time already one can easily believe they were brand-new... and after all, isn't the heart behind the gift far more important? But for now the gift went ignored as Mitsuko simply tossed them onto the foot of her new bed and got down to work on unpacking her belongings somewhat messily as she simply tugged the neatly-folded sets of clothing from her carrier case and dropped them carelessly, causing them to scrunch up into an untidy heap. At this point Selene could only wonder - she clearly was the introverted sort who isn't really into people, but was it due to shyness, or was it another case of misanthropy? Whatever the case, the corporate heiress knew better than to jump to any conclusions about someone with whom she was only just acquainted with, having barely scratched the surface when it comes to knowing this girl. As such, she would get back to setting up the dinner table, arranging the chairs in a comfortable sitting position for the three of them, followed by the saucers for them to rest their teacups on, and finally the teacups themselves. "Have a seat, Kobayashi-san! Selene makes the best tea, I promise!" "You flatter me, Yuki-chan!" the English heiress giggled as she lifted the lid of the teapot for one final check, and determined that the tea was good to serve at this point. Her close connection to tea culture was for the most part self-taught, something that she picked up from observations during tea ceremonies and parties with other aristocrats. "But yes... please be seated for tea is ready!" the corporate heiress continued as she picked up the teapot. "Tell us about yourself, then when we're done with tea and cookies we'll start in on dinner!" Yuki was already jumping at the opportunity to know their new roomie a little better, while Selene poured out the now nicely-done tea - first for Mitsuko and Yuki, before filling her own cup. The freshly-steeped tea was a pale yellow with slight viscosity and glittery sheen on the surface, due to the characteristic white hairs of Silver Needle floating upon the surface, which possesses a reflective quality, truly a beautiful cup of tea to look at, the corporate heiress would have to admit, and the beauty of its appearance was matched only by light and delicate fragrance wafting from it, and that subtle fresh and sweet flavor it has. “Eeeym.. Wyel ye’men eeleeeyin frem.. Mers.” Mitsuko lied, it was the first thing that popped into her head and for some reason she was thinking of aliens, “Aye kyyaaaame heerta.. Myeke peese wethya heyumins.” "You've got such a keen sense of humour, Kobayashi-san!" Selene laughed with her hand over her mouth, before turning her attention to the clothes that Mitsuko had unpacked - mostly jeans, hoodies and tees, hardly anything flashy or eye-catching, although there was one article of clothing that stood out, as the corporate heiress caught sight of a lemon-colored dress that Mitsuko retrieved from her bag, although the girl didn't seem too pleased at the sight of the dress, even though Selene thought it was a cute one. "I say, that's one fine dress you've got there," the corporate heiress commented earnestly. Mitsuko clearly didn't appear to be the sort who'd buy a dress like that for herself, so she could only wonder if it was in fact a gift from a loved one. |

Dangerously Cheesy.

Yuki couldn't help but feel extremely crestfallen as she watched her "kind gesture" of fuzzy slippers get tossed aside with a skeptical look by their new roommate. She wasn't intending to give the slippers to her as a gift, but moreso provide a way for her to keep her feet warm until she had another option of her own. She bit her tongue to keep her eyes from welling up with tears, but luckily Nora had been trying to work with the girl to curb this trend of over-emotional reactions, so she made it out okay. The tea and cookie party began as Selene and Yuki sat down at the table and the new girl got on with her explanation of where she was from as per Yuki's question. Now, the pink-haired girl may have struggled with understanding exactly what she was saying, but Yuki was pretty sure she heard Mitsuko say that she was an alien from Mars. This would have taken the cake for being the strangest thing she'd heard from a Hyakuji student--or anyone for that matter--and she started working up a whole list of questions one might ask an alien from Mars. Fortunately she was spared the embarrassment by Selene commenting on the apparent joke. "You've got such a keen sense of humour, Kobayashi-san!" "Oh, ah...yeah! I almost fell for it!" Yuki said with a rather non-convincing laugh as she shoved another cookie in her mouth to distract from her lack of insight. Being gullible certainly had its drawbacks. Mitsuko continued to go through her suitcases and eventually extracted her own pair of slippers (far less pretty than the ones Yuki had lent her, as far as she was concerned), and continued to go through her belongings. Yuki continued to sip at her perfectly-brewed tea and tried to keep a conscious count of how many cookies she was dropping into her stomach. She was currently at about...six. Or maybe it was four. Certainly not eight, although it was possible. And with a shrug, she chowed down on another sugary treat. Mitsuko's style was different from her own and Selene's but that would just add...diversity to their small group. Maybe this was the opportunity for playing make-over that Yuki was looking for! As soon as the yellow dress was pulled out of the bag, Yuki's eyes lit up at how soft and delicate it was. Ideas began stacking up in her mind at how she could make this work, picking out a cute headband for her to wear, a nice pair of flats or sandals... "That dress is so cute, Kobayashi-san!" Yuki exclaimed, rushing up and carefully taking it from the girl who looked like she was clasping old banana peels with her fingers. She held the dress up against Mitsuko as if seeing how she would look in it, her eyes sparkling at the possibilities. "This is perfect for spring! I bet I have some other things you can wear with it that would be adorable!" Without any prompting (and likely to Mitsuko's dismay) Yuki bounded over to her dresser and started going through her hair accessories and jewelry to see what she had that would work for an outfit. She was finally getting to realize one of her roomie dreams! ...And once again had to keep herself from tearing up, though this time it was out of happiness. |

Mitsuko put up no resistance to having the dress taken from her, she was glad to have it out of her hands, although when Yuki darted over to her dresser and began looking for accessories to go with it she found herself grinding her teeth in frustration yet again. It seemed like both of her new roommates loved this dress but to Mitsuko it only stood as a symbol for a huge part of her life she didn’t want to put up with, her eyes glanced down at the brown envelope inside her carrier case, knowing that whatever was inside was likely the explanation as to why this item of clothing which wasn’t her own was stashed away amongst her belongings. “Eef yew lickeeeet seo meyuch thyin yew cin heev eet.” She announced, her words clearly showing her current annoyance as she picked up the brown envelope and slipped it inside the pocket of her hoodie. The dress probably cost a fair amount of money but it didn’t matter to her, she wasn’t going to wear it so she’d rather have someone else get some use out of it rather than let it rot inside a wardrobe or something. Thinking about this made Mitsuko wonder, where was she supposed to keep her clothes anyway? She still had no idea where mostly everything was here, and it seemed that the her neat freak roommate had already claimed pretty much the entire room for herself as it was. With a heavy sigh Mitsuko placed on her slippers before standing to her feet, leaving the scrunched up clothes on the floor surrounding her new bed she walked over towards the table where the two were having tea before sitting down on a chair opposite Selene. There she took hold of the teacup which had been set out for her, hoping that a nice cup of tea would make her feel somewhat better. Unfortunately though upon her first sip, the moment the tea touched her tongue, she was greeted with an extremely unpleasant sensation. For a few seconds Mitsuko kept the tea inside of her mouth, not swallowing but trying to force herself to giving her a very odd expression of discomfort. It was to no avail though as she found her mouth slowly opening causing the tea to pour back out of her mouth and back into the teacup. Shortly after Mitsuko’s eyes fixated upon Selene, she didn’t know quite what to say to her after refusing to swallow the tea she’d spoke so proudly of but it was clear by the fact that Mitsuko was now blushing slightly that she felt embarrassed about it. Slowly she placed the teacup down on top of the table and bowed her head down slightly so that she didn’t have to look at her new roommate anymore. “Seeory..” She sighed weakly. |
