Her grinning did nothing to alleviate what had happened, considering the gravitas of it.
The Tardis was gone. His only method of travel through time and space, which could potentially be crucial to finding Rory and Amy... gone. His oldest companion, the vessel that had saved him from the jaws of despair so many times... gone. His only way of ever getting back home... gone.

"That someone being upset... was me. It's no big deal. What I was looking for is no longer here." Or rather, it was irrelevant. That part was for the Tardis after all. No Tardis, no need for the part...
He stood, pulling out a jammie dodger, offering it to the girl.
"Here, you want one?" He pulled another out, and tossed it into his mouth. That would have to take the brunt of his rage for now.

"Ah.. Sure, okay!" Fuu spoke, although sounding a little distracted by his aggressive chewing. He looked scarier than Shadow did back when they were being chased. However she reached out and took the biscuit from his hand and held it in her fingers, inspecting the red jam center. After Valentines day she'd grown a bit weary of seeing heart-shaped anythings, but grinned a closed mouth smile at it anyway.

Fuu wasn't familiar with gems like these from outside of Japan.

She took a small bite of the corner... if a circle had any corners... munching on it, before grinning and pocketing it in her hammerspace. It certainly made her feel better. But wait! She wasn't the one who was feeling down to begin with.

"Um.. Ahem.." She wasn't expecting the sad person to turn out to be him. She swallowed nervously before choosing her words, "Cheer up. We are in a junkyard, not down in the dumps." Stupid people make stupid puns.
Shadow howled, seeming bored now that night fall had crept up on them, meaning no more shadows for him to chase.
"Eheh... Um.. Was it very important to you?..." Fuu asked having trouble seeing his face in the darkness. She squatted down and folded her arms across her knees. Shadow was taller than her like this. She was looking for solutions now and the light bulb in her head was going off multiple times,
"I mean.. The thing you were looking for, ya. If its not here it might be somewhere else. OR! Even better! Maybe my friend can make one for you, eheh! She is good at that kind of thing, ya!"

He laughed a little at her joke. Even a bad joke could still have some humour to it, and god did he need some of that right now.
"Eheh... Um.. Was it very important to you?..." He looked at her, almost giving her a look that said 'of COURSE it was important'. But ultimately, she didn't know, so he didn't give her the look either.
"Yes, very much so. You could almost say it was essential to my way of life."

He cracked a smile at her attempts to offer solutions, but he ultimately knew it probably wouldn't work. He didn't care how odd this Earth was compared to others. The chances of them being able to grow a Tardis - or any time ship - comparable to his were... well, probably less than one in a googol. Though, it wasn't like moping around here was going to do him any good.
"Well, it's better than nothing I guess. Lead the way, madame." He gave a gentlemanly bow, and would follow once Fuu started leading.
"By the way, what did you name the guy?" He asked, referring to the dog of course.

Fuu straightened up and was searching her blazer pockets for a note or a paper to pass her cellphone number to him on. Then he suddenly stood up and bowed to her.

"Eh...?!" Genuinely surprised by the gesture. "Oh! Shadow-kun. I named him that... Because.. He likes shadows.. and looks a bit like a shadow.." She explained, putting a hand sheepishly behind her neck as he howled beside her. "Eheh! So are you both following me home, ya?" Fuu asked with a smile in her voice as her t-bar shoes crunched upon the dirt. "Okay, come on!" She called, jogging back towards the peeled up fence.

"Wait-- stop!" Fuu commanded, coming to a halt in the middle of her tracks. "I can't just bring a middle-aged man up to my dorm!!! Guys showing up at Fudo always get attacked, ya!! Its always the magical girls who start it too..." Fuu muttered offhandedly.
Shadow whimpered at her urgent tone.
"Don't worry Shadow, I'm sure I can sneak you in, ya." She spoke brightly, patting him on the head, but she cast a grave gaze up at the Doctor. "Maybe you should go home first, ya. Can we meet tomorrow morning?"

Shadow. Semi-generic, but he guessed it fit. That and Shadow was a pretty cool name anyways. So, cool name for a cool dog. And thus they began their journey, to... wherever it was this young lady happened to live.
As it turned out, it was a dorm,
Presumably, a school dorm.
Oh dear.

Wait, did she mention magical girls? Well, different reality, so perhaps different rules were in effect, and magic could exist in this one. Though, knowing she might be able to sneak in the dog was good at least.
Though that didn't leave him anywhere convenient.
"Maybe you should go home first, ya. Can we meet tomorrow morning?"
"...Sure! Um, where do you want? Anywhere in town'll do I guess. Hold on..." He rummaged through his pockets for a piece of paper...
No, not a psychic piece of paper...

"Here we go." He said, as he pulled out a small square, then pulled out a pen and scrawled 'The Doctor', along with a number to contact him. He then handed it over, making sure she had her hands on it securely before letting go.
"Well Lavendar, anything else?"

Fuu accepted his card in both hands with a nod and a smile as he suggested a general area of meeting up. She was about to open her mouth and ask him if there was somewhere close to his own house. Just to make it more convenient for him. After all, he did do a part in saving her life today.

"Oh! Ya. There is something else." Fuu said with a bit of a squeak in her voice. "Ahem. Hm. Thank-you very much for... today, Doctor-san." She bowed embarrassingly low. Upon straightening herself out she bobbed under the chainlinked fence and held it open for her canine friend who sat diligently beside the Doctor. "Eh? Chichichi," Fuu called, bending slightly and tapping her thigh. That seemed to do the trick as he dog left the Doctor, panting once he reached the other side. Stepping away from the barrier and further into the darkness, she smiled, even though she could only see the shadow of his outline that the moonlight cast on the older man. "You still look like a creep, ya know? Eheh! I think its the bow tie."

"Good night Doctor~" She waved.

An eyebrow raised by about half an inch when Fuu answered his question with a yes, though admittedly he had the question anyway, so he should've expected the possibility of a response. Though, perhaps even if he had been, he might not have expected the subsequent bow. That done, she made her way through the fence, waiting for the dog to follow.
The very same dog that for a while, did not follow.
"Oh, go on." He said, waving his arm to and fro towards the fence at the same as the girl did her slap on the thigh.

With the dog safely through, he watched as she began to walk away, before making a few last comments.
"You still look like a creep, ya know? Eheh! I think its the bow tie." He looked down at the small accessorie at the bottom of his neck, before readjusting it with a grin.
"Oi! Bowties are cool." He laughed, waving back to her.
"Good night Lavendar. See you again later." He said, watching as she faded into the darkness... into the silence...

He walked back, having spotted an old camper van in amongst the piles of scrap. Opening the rust door, he found a half decent mattress - literally, the other half was just torn to shreds - and hopped in. It was going to be too late for him to find any good form of accomodation in the city itself, from what he figured. Though perhaps he was misjudging the japanese on that one.
"Either way, time to get comfortable." He muttered to himself, trying to make the best of his situation.

The large moon in the sky watched over the man as he tried to get settled in an old trailer. In the distance a dog howled once that same moon came into view as they emerged from out of the back alleys. It was going to be a long walk home but dogs weren't allowed on public transport.

"Shh... You will love it at Fudo. Most of the girls are super friendly, and they always smell really nice... I wonder what shampoo they use..." Fuu prattled, "Anyways. You can sleep in my room! It sure beats sitting all alone outside in the snow and rain, ya? I would have brought you home sooner if I didn't think my roommates would freak out about it, eheh."

But what if she had come at the start of the month when she first noticed the shadowy dog behind the junkyard fence? ... Would the Doctor have been there to...??

She looked down at the calling card in her hands, reading the English letters out loud.

"the... Doctor..." Is that how he wrote his name? She was expecting it to be Kanji. Fuu thought about asking Jen, (her official English to Japanese dictionary,) what it meant in their language. "Aiyayaya..." Fuu lightly tapped the side of her head. She needed to prevent her mind from getting sidetracked like she usually did, and remember to ask Jen for a favor for the Doctor. Although come to think of it, that purple haired girl was good at fixing and modifying things, making them better. But she never asked for anything in return for her services.

"How did I become so lucky...? Everybody I meet is so kind to me, eheh!" Fuu smiled a cat like grin before cutting across the park. But of course... not everybody in Hyakuji was as sincere as Fuu thought they were.

A white Chrysler 300 convertible with its top on and the tinted windows rolled up was parked on the side of the street. It watched the giddy schoolgirl and her dog for a moment before pulling out into traffic, on a course to meet her on the other side of Izanai park.
