Hiroto sat by the old tree, dispite the cold, he was relaxing under the tree. He was wearing his trench coat, and had 14 runes out, one set linked to a wolf that was laying against him, and another that linked to a small cardinal, which sang its sweet song. "Like leaves from the vine..." He held a leaf in his hand, and was slowly holding it up in the light breeze. He couldn't help but feel the hollowness inside him after another lonely Valentine's day had passed. But, he was use to it. He looked towards the sunset, watching for the last of the day's light to pass out of the world. |

Tsukiko didn't know why she was outside until she felt the slight chill from the approaching night. Her mind was farther away than the woe and her body was pretty much moving on its own. She just went for a walk as a way to distract herself from her dreams and the painful chills that came with them. They were frightening and she hated them. They were all the pain that she had ever felt summed up and divided into dreams that had no color and no meaning. They were just pain. She continued to walk until she bumped hard into someone and stumbled back. She shook her head and looked up at the boy only to immediately look down with a blush. "I'm so sorry," she gasped as she stared down at her hands. "I wasn't paying attention. Are you alright?" |

Hiroto looked up, when Tsukiko ran into him. The wolf raised it's head, until Hiroto motioned for it to relax. "I'm fine, are you ok? You look troubled." Hiroto moved over slightly, patting on the ground beside him, before moving his hands towards the 14 runes, which were giving off heat by this point. The snow around them, had melted away, and was producing a small amount of heat in the air around them. Hiroto looked back at the girl, a little curious about why she was out here to begin with. "If you don't mind me asking, why are you out here? Its getting late, and its starting to cool down." |

She finally looked up into his eyes and she blushed even harder. "I'm just...I just wanted to take a walk. I'm not worried about the snow..." She looked over at the wolf and stepped closer to the boy when its large head turned to look at her. The snow under her feet began to melt and she closed her eyes, trying to control her temperature. She looked up at him when she realized how close she was to him and almost jumped at foot away from him. "I'm sorry!!" |

Hiroto blushed some when Tsukiko jumped away, mainly casuse he wasn't expecting it. He chuckled to himself, "It's ok, I'm use to being around people...." He looked at the wolf, and carefully reached for the runes, pulling 7 away from the pile. The wolf slowly dissipated, almost as if it was a ghost. The cardinal flew closer, landing on a low hanging branch above Hiroto. It kept singing it's song, never seeming to get tired of it. "I know how it feels to just want to get away from it all, I've only been here a few days, and I already miss sitting on my roof, watching the stars." He looked back at the sunset, or perhaps beyond that. He seemed to be taking it all in, not even noticing that the temperature was still dropping, or the snow falling. He just seemed to be accepting it all for what it is. |

Tsukiko sighed. She didn't want to go home. She just wanted to stay here. That school wasn't her home. She missed her best friend. She was her home. Tsukiko plopped down on the ground and melted the snow-covered grass around her so it wouldn't be so troublesome. She looked up at the boy as she played with her long braid. "I'm Tsukiko by the way...sorry again for bumping into you..." |

Hiroto looked over at Tsukiko, "I'm Hiroto, its nice to meet you too. But don't worry about it, I'm use to getting pushed around." He smiled at the remark, knowing that it was both true and accurate of his last school. In truth, he didn't miss those days, but they kept him entertained some. He looked up at the cardinal, "Ready to go?" The bird chirped, before Hiroto removed the runes, causing it to vanish too. He placed the runes in his pouch, and looked over at Tsukiko, noticing the melted snow. "Well thats useful, no wonder why you weren't worried about the snow. |

She watched the bird disappear just like the wolf did. Shenodded when he referred to the melted ice around her. "Yeah," she replied with a scowl. "One of my many talents." She hated her powers. Yeah, they could come in handy but really they just made her more of a freak than she already was. |

Hiroto nodded at her reply, curious by the fact that she had more powers. "I've been an outcast, my power came to me, and it just made me more of an outcast.." He smiled at what he said, before going back to a neutral face. "But I wouldn't change back, a person's power makes then special." He watched as the last glimmer of the sun faded from view. Turning the world into a twilight. "I may miss my old lifestyle, but I don't regret any of it." He place down 6 runes, then placing another rune. The runes glowed slightly, and started to give off heat. A small dove appeared in his lap, before flying up into the tree. Hiroto leaned back against the tree, looking up towards the heavens. He'd spoken about the subject out of the blue, not realizing that he'd said so much. The dove flew back down, landing on his shoulder, before flying around the area. The bird landed down next to Tsukiko, looking at her with it's head cocked to the side slightly. Edited by Hiroto Sato, Feb 17 2011, 08:37 AM.

She nodded agreeing with his every word. She didn't love her powers, but she liked them enough to never regret having them. Does she wish that her parents weren't pricks and that they would have at least kept her for a little while so that she could have some memories? Yeah of course. But there's no changing it now. She looked up at the boy. "Why are you here?" |

Hiroto looked Tsukiko in the eyes, not showing malice, just showing a weakened look. "I'm here because I can feel like my old home," he replied, "I use to spend my time looking at the stars, it's my way of remembering home." He smiled at her, before looking back to the stars. "But even so, I'm sure I'll find something here. One never knows..." He leaned his head back against the tree. He hummed a few bars of Like Leaves From The Vine, seeming to be at a sort of peace with himself. Edited by Hiroto Sato, Feb 17 2011, 10:25 AM.

She was fascinated by him. He was so against himself that she was intrigued by his way of thinking. She felt like he did, excluding the fact that she never really had a home. She was always moving from place to place. She looked him in the eye and a few questions ran into her head. She moved closer to him, the snow melted around her as if she were snow repellent. "Do you feel pain?" she asked. She knew it was a weird question but she tended to speak her mind. |

"Do you feel pain?" Hiroto looked back into her eyes, "I do, I wouldn't be human if I didn't. I've felt many different types though... In truth, the most that I've felt was the abandonment from my parents... Or maybe it was the lose of my closest friend... Then again, the more I think about it, the more I realize that it'd be easier to list my more pleasant memories..." Hiroto felt some of the warmth coming off of Tsukiko, reminded of her powers again. His runes had melted a small circle around them by now, but it wasn't much compared to her heat. He looked back from the runes to her eyes. "Do you feel pain? Or perhaps, it'd be better to ask if you've been through something like myself..." Hiroto could still feel the infringing cold, but he managed to dismiss it. He'd been through worst, and he was just glad to see the stars out. |

Tsukiko nodded. "My parents had me on a plane, and when the plane landed, they ditched me at the hospital. I've been moved from foster home to foster home ever since." She wanted to feel his pain for herself. She stood and stepped close to him. She moved her hands up, but froze. She didn't want to scare him away. "May I try something?" |

Hiroto watched her move closer, he didn't sense anything wrong with the idea, "Sure, I don't mind." He pondered at what she'd said, being moved from place to place and all. He doubted that he could have lived like that for long. He frowned, not really ralizing it, but thought back to the fact that he was nothing more than orphan too. Sure he was adopted, but he still was one in blood. He didn't realize that the pain was more or less manifesting in his core being. "I'll admit that you're tougher than I am in that sense. I'd have gone crazy if I'd lived like that..." His voice trailed off, as he looked back towards the stars. He felt his emotions getting twisted in his core again, but he simply let out a large sigh. As quickly as the feelings had came on him, they'd gone just as easilly. |
