✍(⊙︿⊙ ; ) ….. nope.
Fuu's knees were glowing bright red with the imprint of kitchen tiles as they followed Jameson to some that had been prepared earlier.
"Just a matter of seconds now." She nudged Jen while staring at the half eaten chilli-pepper and said, "Let's watch him set fire to his own house, ehehehe!"

Spoiler: click to toggle

Jameson's chocolates seemed really creative, and Chetri's looked exactly like the photograph in the cooking book. In the hands of these two, she felt a little better about not being able to snag a chocolate making kit at the mall. Fuu inhaled deeply, clasping her hands together and interlocking her fingers. She tried to envision how to decorate her honmei-chocolate after it came out of the oven, but failed.

"hey Jen-chan." Then she turned to face her, "If somebody made you a chocolate.. What.. what would you want it to look like?"

While Jameson was busy trying to fan the small fire that he started in his mouth from the chili chocolate, Robyn was tending to her own confections. She didn't have much experience making large batches of desserts but she had made some things for herself once or twice. It also helped that she'd picked up a few tricks while residing in Europe on her own, but she'd never try to imply that she was some sort of culinary artist. Assassins generally didn't wear frilly aprons and knowing how to make a mean souffle wasn't exactly intimidating.

She decided to go the route of "something more than plain chocolate" since 1) she was already there, and 2) it was going to get old fast if the only snacks they had for the next two months were plain (or burning hot) chocolate. Activating the cooking montage, she basically cooked up and cooled down small chocolates filled with a rich dark chocolate ganache. She would've preferred some sort of a filling with Bailey's or Kahlua, but a lack thereof is what you get at an Agency of alcohol minors.

While the first set of chocolate was cooling, Robyn snagged a jar of maraschino cherries she'd found in the fridge (ensuring the expiration date was still valid) and covered each one with the chocolate she had left over. She stuck them in the freezer to harden, and pulled them out onto the kitchen counter next to her other creation toward the end of everyone's cooking. Robyn plucked one off the wax paper and popped it into her mouth, pulling off the stem and tossing it into the trash. Nothing spectacular by her standards, but pretty tasty.

She just wanted to wrap up this Valentine's Day kitchen craziness before she drowned in the Sea of Estrogen. Robyn was surviving surprisingly well in regards to this matter, but she'd only last so long. Maybe she would slip into a sugar coma before things got too crazy. And with that, she ate another chocolate-covered cherry.

"So...what else on the list of festivities do we have planned...or am I going to have to start over if Chef Willicott doesn't approve my recipe?"

"I don't see how praying would..." Jen's logical mind tried to process the situation, but then realized that cooking is an art form, and art is about heart. And you just can't do it right if your heart is not right. Deciding not to argue, the purple-haired girl went ahead as she placed her hands together to pray like the way she did whenever she went to Taoist temples during Chinese New Year. Jen couldn't help but giggle as Jameson tried the batch of chocolates made by himself. Cayenne peppers? Now that was innovative, if not particularly palatable, as the detective's face could clearly tell as he made a perfect impression of Godzilla.

"If somebody made you a chocolate.. What.. what would you want it to look like?" Fuu appeared to be lost for ideas as thus far her chocolate-making equipment remained clean, unable to get any idea on what kind of chocolate to make.

"Hmmm... I'm more of a fan of bittersweet chocolate with a sweet center," Jen replied as she rested her hand on her chin thoughtfully. "So yeah, my personal favorite would be dark, like say seventy percent - chocolate coating a jelly candy center, or alternatively fruit like raisins or dried cranberries." Next, Jen got down to work on creating a batch of filled chocolates - one being white chocolate with a walnut center, and another batch were milk chocolates with a biscuit center or a jelly sweet center. Now that wasn't so hard - checking through the internet for chocolate recipes, it was only a matter of memorizing the right ingredients and knowing the temperature and timing.

Placing her finished products into the fridge to cool and harden, Jen turned her attention back to Fuu to see how she was doing. "Miss Firraro's doing well I see!" Jen complimented as she saw what Robyn had prepared.

Jameson eyed the others with mirth as they all began to speak amongst themselves. He planted his hands turning to Chetri. "It's fine to follow the recipe.. Think of it like this though. When people say you put your 'heart' into it I wonder what that really means? Well I interpret it like this.. When a good bartender mixes a drink he might deviate from the standard recipe to match the patron's particular tastes. Looking up rare mixes or combinations. Still following the recipe exactly but choosing WHICH recipe according to the person they have in mind."

"These chocolates you made are for everyone so they're very standard.. MY chocolates have heat in them to reflect my hot blood.." He glanced to Fuu speaking with Jen. "See? She gets it. She's customizing it to a specific person.." He glanced to Chetri. "Yours is fine for now , but maybe eventually when you'll make it it will have a bit more of a specific flavor to suit a specific person.. I think that's the real meaning of putting your 'heart' in it." He took one of hers and took a bite with a grin.

"Even so it's not like these are bad. I'm promoting you to 'allowed to cook'." Jameson said with a laugh. He wandered over to the counter clearing a spot. "Of course that's not all there is planned for today. Yeesh." Jameson said with a scoff. He turned and sat on the counter crossing his leg over the other and leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knee and his chin in upturned palms. A large goofy grin on his features.

"Because now you have a mission~ You have to go give these to people." He leaned back using his hands to support himself. "BUT! When doing so you have to honestly tell them why they are important to you! This is the key part! Today is a day not just of romantic love.. but of familial bonds! Of friendship! It's a day to let other know you care."

"When I hired you all it was not only for help but also to help you all. And overcoming these hurdles is a part of growing up. Which is why in exchange for completing it you will get... A FULL DAY OFF WITH PAY..!" Jameson said dramatically.

Now it was time to see if things got fun! Chetri.. Robyn.. how would they react? And what surprises might Jen and Fuu have in store!? This was great!

"I see." she said, although she couldn't claim to completely understand it.

It did make sense, intellectually, but the concept of how to actually do that was lost to her. She knew how to improvise and make things up as she went - it was a skill required of her afterall - but the concept of applying it to suit someone's taste seemed... she couldn't quite put a take on it.

It was something she both understood and yet found foreign regardless.

But the second task was somewhat simpler, but also considerably harder. It was a simple problem. Not having really gotten real attachments to anyone here, she didn't have a reason to really say most of the people here were important. At least, to her personally. She understood they were important, in a sense, but it was different from actually finding them important.

Except however...

There was no hesitation.

She handed over part of the batch to Jameson, with a completely neutral face, with a look that simply said she was accomplishing her given mission, without understanding the significance of it.

"Then... for you." she said, deadpan.

...With odd wording. Instead of the normal and polite anata, replacing it with... kisama.

She licked the wooden spoon and cringed before leaning back and nodding once with a grin, "...bitter taste~" But for it to be 70 percent dark chocolate, what about the other 30 percent....?

...... bitter-sweet duh!

Fuu reached for the sugar.

~*~

Just when Jen had turned her sights on Fuu to see how she was doing, she would find her bright haired friend was tucked away in a corner of the kitchen, happily stirring away at her white-chocolate icing. She continued to smile a closed eyed smile and even waved enthusiastically to Jen until the girl turned away to compliment Robyn.

"Ehehehe...... Phew..." Fuu whispered, hugging the small mixing bowl closer to her body. She quickly spun away and gave a few more stirs before inconspicuously setting it onto the bench, grabbing some disposable piping bags used for decorating cakes without turning around. Fuu listened as Jameson revealed their Valentines Day job, while offhandedly spooning her mixture into the bag.

She hastily scribbled messy white-chocolate messages over her dark-chocolate hearts, half out of hesitation, and half out of trying to hurry and get them back into the fridge without anyone seeing.

"wow~ He gives such an easy mission this time, ya." The more relaxed appeal of this task seemed to be lost on her. "'Bore-out,' really is the new 'burnout' at work, eheh!" She says, closing the refrigerator door with a thud.

"Of course that's not all there is planned for today. "Because now you have a mission~ You have to go give these to people." Jameson said as he leaned back, supporting his weight on his hands.

"BUT! When doing so you have to honestly tell them why they are important to you! This is the key part! Today is a day not just of romantic love.. but of familial bonds! Of friendship! It's a day to let other know you care." Jen couldn't help but nod to that; truer words were never spoken. "When I hired you all it was not only for help but also to help you all. And overcoming these hurdles is a part of growing up. Which is why in exchange for completing it you will get... A FULL DAY OFF WITH PAY..!" Typical Jameson, always being so dramatic.

"Thanks Jameson, but the pay isn't why I'm here with the agency..." Jen replied in earnest. "It's because of friends like all of you," the purple-haired girl smiled. Jameson, Fuu, Crow, Oliver, even Chetri and Robyn.

"wow~ He gives such an easy mission this time, ya." Fuu commented as she put away her freshly-made chocolates into the fridge to have them cool down. "'Bore-out,' really is the new 'burnout' at work, eheh!"

"Say Fuu-chan, do you have any names in mind to give chocolate to then?" Jen wondered. "Between you, the rest of the WDA crew, Star, Meglumar, Yuki and others... I hope I have enough chocolates to go around," Jen spoke thoughtfully as she rubbed her chin. She might just have to end up making more.

"What's wrong?" Jen asked Chetri after the gray-haired girl as she passed the chocolate to Jameson, but with what essentially amounted to a very offensive swear word. "Did Jameson say something wrong?"

Robyn glanced over at Jen after she mentioned her name, and realized this was one of the first compliments she'd received in quite some time aside from the occasional "good job" that accompanied, well, a good job. Nonetheless the girl shrugged it off and dumped some dirty bowls and mixing utensils into the kitchen sink.

"I'm just completing the task at hand. Nothing more."
She didn't want the others to try and read into what she was doing, as if there was some sort of "hidden enjoyment" that came along with the fact that she was actually participating in the activities at the agency. She couldn't deny that she enjoyed eating some chocolate every now and then but she wasn't about to start giggling and swapping life stories with these girls she barely knew.

Give her chocolates away? Maybe it wouldn't be as painstaking as holding a conversation and instead all she would have to do was get rid of her batch of chocolate. Simple enough. She started looking for a piece of paper on which to write "FREE CHOCOLATE" but her task was cut short.

"BUT! When doing so you have to honestly tell them why they are important to you! This is the key part!"

Okay, not so simple. Robyn couldn't help but incredulously roll her eyes at how ridiculous this was. Telling people how she felt about them could either be very hard or very easy, and as she currently had no reason to loathe these particular individuals, this task would fall toward the former. But with the promise of a day off with pay (although she never liked being a freeloader), she had to at least give it a try. If nothing else, she could feed them a line of BS and "check the block" as it were.

But where to start? She literally had NO feelings toward any of these people aside from the fact that she considered them a colleague by default since they were on the same payroll. She knew the Jen girl from before during their brief interaction, but these other two had no rapport with her aside from first impressions. She hadn't seen Aki since their first job together, and hadn't run into any of the others since the last (and first) time they met. Robyn felt like she knew Jameson best, but Chetri had taken the initiative to pawn off her chocolate on him first. Damn.

She needed a target that would fall for a line and make the whole transaction out to be more than it was. Her eyes scanned the kitchen and fell on...

Robyn cracked a small smile, albeit slightly brooding, as she tore off a section of the wax paper holding nearly half of her chocolate-covered cherries and made a bee line for the aloof blonde. She didn't pay much attention to what the girl was doing in terms of whether or not she was busy; she was giving her these chocolates regardless.

"Hey, Fuu, isn't it?" she asked, mustering her most receptive voice. She wasn't new to putting on charades when necessary, so she thought of this scenario in that way. Robyn set the chocolates down on the counter next to Fuu before they started melting from her hand through the paper. "These are for you. I want you to know I look forward to working with you, and how important it is to me that we're on the same team."

Pfffft, well, it was a pretty lame line and she had to struggle from gagging herself after saying it, but she persevered to keep up the "sincerity" she was trying to pass off. Hopefully this girl bought it, otherwise to be honest, she'd probably just forego the free day off. She had nothing better to do than come into the office anyway.

Jameson liked the reactions he got from that. It effected everyone differently and he was aware it'd do that from the start. He wasn't dumb. Even so he was eager to see what, if anything, came from it. This really was a part of growing up. And he could only hope they'd all grow just a bit through this... perhaps.

"Well anyhow.. I'll look for your answers to if you completed your mission successfully next time.. There's not need to rush it." He said taking Chetri's back with a smile towards the girl. He leaped off the counter and planted his hands in his sides. "For today let's call it a day, okay?" He said flashing a thumbs up towards the girls.

"However.. Let it be remembered. I can detect lies with my mind so no one try anything dumb like that, okay?" He said forcing a broad smile towards the girls. A broad smile obviously filled with intense malice at the prospect of him being lied to for a day off. The truth was he'd rather them realize their own shortcomings and would reward even that, but lies could not be rewarded. Oh well, they'd figure it out.

"Okay, with this is case closed! WDA.... Dismissed!"
