Jameson grinned from the kitchen with his apron on. He planted his hands on his sides smiling broadly. "TODAY! I WILL MAKE THE FLOWERS IN MY GIRLS HEARTS BLOOM!" He said eagerly as he thrust his fist forward.

February 14th. The legendary day! This day was none other than the one on which girls gave boys chocolates! And the following white day the boys would reciprocate or reject these feelings. It was a terrifying and dangerous time to be a girl in the stormy seas of love. This is why Jameson had decided to become a naval captain and guide these ships to harbor!

Besides, practically speaking, none of these girls knew ANYTHING about cooking properly. Except maybe Jen! It was a disgrace!

Besides. Lately it had been rough waters for the others. It would be nice to spend a day together in a more relaxed setting. This was his way of paying them back for all that they had done for him. This was his way of showing his own affection towards them. But mostly he just eagerly wanted to experience this sort of thing!

today's outfit

Shortly after Jameson made his passionate and eccentric proclamation, there was a series of thudding sounds coming up the stairwell.
"Boss~!" The school girl skipped into the kitchen, resting her hands on her knees and catching her breath. This made her dress shift slightly over her thigh but at least the scar had healed up nicely. Fuu also noticed that their boss looked a lot different in an apron, and wondered why on earth he would even be wearing one. It would have probably looked better on one of the girls anyway.

"I waited patiently downstairs for hours, ya! You could have at least told me you were up here, eheh!" As she spoke her spiel, her fingers were lodged between her cleavage, reaching in to retrieve something...

"I have a thing for you~~~"

Straightening up, held out towards him with both hands a single giri-chocolate wrapped in pink cellophane.

"This is my first Valentines Day, eheh!" She admitted dropping a sweat, "So.... Did I deliver it right?"

Ding~Dong! The musical chime of the doorbell was heard as Jen rang the doorbell. Granted, she knew the door wasn't locked, but the lilac-haired girl felt it was a basic courtesy to announce her arrival. "Ready or not, here I come!" Jen declared as she stepped into the main hall, before looking around and realizing no one was around. Maybe they went... up? Chuckling slightly to herself, Jen made her way upstairs where she was greeted with the sight of... Jameson in an apron? And there was Fuu together with him.

"Gee boss, I didn't know you have a thing for cooking," Jen commented; no doubt he'd have heard her voice at this point and turned around. And if Jen were surprised at the sight of Jameson in an apron, the detective would no doubt also be just as surprised at the sight of the purple-haired girl in... a dress.

Jen held her breath as she waited for Jameson and Fuu's response - had she overstepped her boundaries with this outfit? It looked more like something that was worn to an evening function rather than a Valentine's day date afterall. If things didn't turn out the way she expected, then she and Selene (who'd recommended the dress to Jen) were going to have a few words with each other after this.

"Happy Valentine's," Jen smiled as she gently lifted her dress slightly and curtsied - Gods, she never imagined herself doing that, before handing a small box of Belgian-made chocolates to Jameson.

"Ahh.. sorry Fuu. I didn't realize I'd miscommunicated it. But well, I just got ready myself so I guess there was no hurry!" He said laughing brightly. As soon as he'd finnished greeting her Jen arrived in her us-... WHAT?

"W-W-What the hell is with that dress?!" Jameson blurted out in wide-eyed shock. "E-Er.. Not that it's not a f-fantastic dress! Er.. I mean! I'm not really PAYING ATTENTION or anything! but i'm not.. not..? Uh.. What? Huh? Buh?" He took a moment to crouch down and take a breath before exhaling.

"That dress might be overdressed.." He said motioning towards her before accepting their chocolates. He smiled warmly at them. "Thank you both very much!" He said bowing his head. He rose and set them down, taking one from each and eating them cheerfully. "Yay~!" He said to himself, excited he'd gotten chocolates for once! He turned back to them and grinned flashing a thumbs up. "Great job!" He said firmly.

"Now.. I asked you guys to come down here for what may seem like a somehow odd reason." He folded his arms across his chest. "I've always liked Valentines. I think people get carried away with it and fixate on the wrong parts but I like it. It's a good reason for us to evaluate our own feelings and show appreciation to friends and loved one."

"There are two kinds of valentines chocolates in japan. Home made or 'hon'mei'. And 'giri' or obli-giri-tory chocolate. In other words there are chocolates of appreciation and chocolates of love~" He said with a grin.

He turned to the counters and motioned to the supplies. "I'm going to help you guys make chocolates!" He planted hands in his sides. "It's good to show our friends we care.." Hep icked up their chocolates. "With these I've become happy. I feel the bond between us. The fact you picked it out, the fact it was for me, and the kindness and thoughtfullness that entails! Others feel the same. They can be used to express gratitude towards friends or people that helped us, or love for our families! So we'll make some giri choco for our friends, or some Hon'Mei if you have someone special in mind~*"

He turned and began to set up. "For now aprons and.. maybe a wardrobe downgrade? We'll start shortly, Chetri should be here soon with the rest of the supplies."

As if on cue, she stepped into the room at about that moment, appearing just behind Jen. It was another one of those hard to detect unannounced entrances she was long used to. You'd almost think she was batman or something.

"Here." she said, walking over to the table and hefting the shopping bag onto the flat surface. "I believe this is everything."

The bag was filled with all sorts of random ingredients for chocolate that Jameson had her buy, as well as the original shopping list. Pretty much everything you'd need for a few batches of first rate home chocolate. Well, that was certainly the point now wasn't it?

"Gah!" She was startled by Chetri who had been practicing her Black Arts again. Her ankle rolled on the small heel she was wearing and sent her falling sideways into someone she barely recognized to be Jen. "Hooho! Just like I thought," She laughed, even while in this strange position. "Your dress makes a fantastic cushion, eheh!" Nuzzling her cheek into it.

She would prefer it if they didn't have to change. It mattered more to a girl like her that their clothes were pretty rather than practical. But she reasoned that getting chocolate all over a Selene-worthy gown would be a little inconvenient. "Hoo okay~ We'll go chaaaange. Come on Jen-chan." She said with a tilt of her head before leading them out the door.

As Chetri and Jameson concerned themselves with the shopping, Fuu managed to whisper to her friend, "So you look really pretty today, eheh~"

~*~

For the most part, Fuu didn't so much as change, but she did kick off her shoes. Grabbing an apron and when failing to get it to tie behind her back, she just let it hang there from around her neck.

"Whoa.. You're really going to let us dirty your kitchen AND teach us how to cook?" Although she sounded surprised, and a little bit disbelieving, there were stars in her eyes, "LUCKY~!" Fuu wondered what they could have done to deserve such a special treat. She'd thought she was coming here for a work (or by the looks of things,) an interior-decorating meeting.

"W-W-What the hell is with that dress?!" Jameson exclaimed, sounding clearly surprised as he went wide-eyed, or at least his one good eye went wide with shock, his reaction eliciting a pouty-faced expression from the purple-haired girl. So Selene was indeed having her on... Jen kept a mental note to herself; she and Selene were going to have some words the next time they meet. "E-Er.. Not that it's not a f-fantastic dress! Er.. I mean! I'm not really PAYING ATTENTION or anything! but i'm not.. not..? Uh.. What? Huh? Buh? That dress might be overdressed.." Jen's expression changed into an embarrassed smile as Jameson set the record straight, the purple-haired girl's cheeks flushing pink for what might be the very first time - truly a once in a lifetime sight.

"You're welcome," Jen replied, clearly enjoying the feminine act for once as Jameson gladly accepted the gifts of Valentine chocolates from Fuu and herself, before getting down to explaining his reason for getting the girls to come down here today; followed by a brief explanation on Japanese culture's rather special take on V-day, something which Jen was already quite familiar with - what country in the world afterall, has the women giving chocolates during Valentine's day. And what she and Fuu had given to Jameson was 'giri' chocolate, obligatory chocolates as a gesture of love and appreciation. And truly, it couldn't have been a better moment to show one's love and friendship after their harrowing adventure barely a week ago.

"Oooh, chocolate making!" Jen exclaimed, clasping her hands together joyously as Jameson explained that they would be making chocolates. Now, talk about breaking new ground! Jury-rigging appliances, fixing electronics and improvising mechanical systems was something that Jen had in the spades, but cooking was something she'd never quite delved into, having never found much interest in culinary skills aside from basic survival cooking, a-la "campfire cuisine".

"For now aprons and.. maybe a wardrobe downgrade? We'll start shortly, Chetri should be here soon with the rest of the supplies." The detective said as he began to set up the kitchen for their chocolate-making session. Now come to think of it... it was probably for the better that she changed out of this elegant-looking gown, just as Jen felt a slight tingle run down the back of her neck, the uneasy feeling one would get when one is being watched... could it be...?

"Here." Chetri said as she walked past Jen, over to the table and hefting the shopping bag onto the flat surface. "I believe this is everything." That was quite an accomplishment - considering that situational awareness happened to be one of Jen's strong points, but Chetri managed to come right up from behind without the purple-haired girl ever realizing she was there; just how long had she been trained in stealthy movement, Jen wondered. Fuu was quite taken aback by Chetri's unexpected arrival, falling right into Jen as her face rested against the purple-haired girl's layered and frilly skirt.

"Your dress makes a fantastic cushion, eheh!" Fuu commented as she nuzzled her cheek against the smooth, silken surface, soft as a rose petal. "Hoo okay~ We'll go chaaaange. Come on Jen-chan." Jen nodded as she and Fuu left the kitchen for a while to change into something more practical; especially for Jen, seeing how it'd be disastrous to end up getting chocolate stains on such a pretty ballgown. "So you look really pretty today, eheh~" Fuu-whispered to Jen.

"Thanks, Fuu-chan!" Jen replied. "You should speak to Selene-san about dresses like these... she'll be glad to help," the purple-haired girl winked at the country lass.

Moments later, Jen and Fuu returned to the kitchen. The purple-haired girl had changed out of the expensive dress and slippers, settling instead for a black T-shirt and blue denim jean shorts, while Fuu merely took off her shoes, in accordance to Japanese house customs. "Whoa.. You're really going to let us dirty your kitchen AND teach us how to cook?" Although Fuu sounded surprised, and a little bit disbelieving, there were stars in her eyes, "LUCKY~!"

"I must confess that culinary arts are something of an uncharted waters for me," Jen replied, before placing her right fist forward in front of her chest with her left hand resting over it in a Chinese style bow. "So.. teach me, Jameson-sensei!" Jen sounded like the protagonist in those old-school Chinese kung-fu flicks where the main character wishes to learn martial arts from a reclusive old master.

She didn't know how she kept missing calls, or the action in general for that matter, but Robyn had little idea how to react to this one. She thought everything was done, but for some reason she had an "urgent call" from Jameson demanding she report to the Agency immediately. Not one to turn down requests from the guy writing her paycheck, she threw on a coat and strapped on her holsters in an impressive manner of seconds. The blue-haired girl headed out the door and walked briskly through the winter air to her place of business, wondering what was in store for her today. Permanent place of business, this time. She was determined.

She trekked up the short set of stairs to the door, kicked the snow off the bottom of her shoes outside the building, and stepped through the doorway. She walked through the building, navigating her way to the noise where it sounded like a crew had gathered. Her mind was racing with what could possibly be up to bat as their adversary or case that day. Maybe some big business in the area had a bunch of money go missing, maybe there was a high-profile kidnapping. Maybe they were gearing up for a diabolical...

...bake sale?

Following the noise led her to the kitchen, where she spotted Jameson and some other girls, the only one of whom she recognized was the purple-haired girl she met earlier. Jen, wasn't it? The other two she'd never seen in her life. How big WAS the payroll for this place? They were surrounded by cooking ingredients and supplies, suggesting the situation was anything but urgent. The pre-mission surge immediately drained out of her as she witnessed the spectacle, and she knew it wasn't a fluke and there was a "mission crew" somewhere else as Jameson was in the thick of things. But why the hell would he make such a big deal out of it?

Wait a minute. What day was it? Wasn't it...

"...You've got to be kidding."

Apparently Hallmark had sunk its claws all the way into Japan and Valentine's Day was in full force even in non-western civilization. Somewhere a handful of guys were being beaten into submission by overemotional girlfriends for not being vigilant of the calendar. While slightly amusing, it was still a poor excuse to spend money. At least she'd never seen a reason for it, nor did anyone she knew in the past. Jameson had been insightful enough to know an "urgent call" was the only way to get her to show up.

Perhaps it would be fun and she'd get to know these girls and have a great time. They could talk about boys, eat candy, and be girls for the day...

...Or, you know, she could just put her hands straight onto the burning stove top and have just as much fun.

Maybe they hadn't seen her and she could still sneak out before getting sucked into the tidal wave of love stories, candy hearts, and estrogen about to hit her in the face.

"Ossu! The gang's all here! Mostly all, anyhow." He said noting the absence of Aki. Well, it was a big group and people had stuff. It'd be sort of amazing if they were all available simultaneously. Even so it was nice to have Robyn back around. She'd been mostly absent through recent events an- WAITAMINUTE

"DON'T SHOOT HER CHETRI!" He said flinging himself between Chetri and Robyn. "She's on my side! She's my prodigal son!" He said loudly. He exhaled a long breath, relaxing. That could have been a disaster..

The meeting between Aki and Chetri..

Between Chetri and Crow...

This one woulda been worse. Two gun nuts going to town on his new place. That was the last thing he needed. Even with badguy explosion insurance he still was left with huge losses on renovating this entire place. He sighed a bit. At this rate he'd have to wind up tapping back into his account with the Bakers.

He exhaled a long breath. He HATED dealing with them..

"Even Jen can't cook..? You girls are amazing.. Chetri's cooking is.." He paused scratching his chin. "Edible." He said very pointedly. "I'm terrified to imagine what Robyn's tastes like and Fuu...." He took on a sad distant expression. "I just hope she doesn't set fire to my house.."

"Very well." she said simply, letting go of the grip of her revolver, still safely stowed and hidden out of sight by the back of her uniform.

She gave the new girl a cursory visual examination, and let it go at that. It was abit unfortunate that Jameson just outright revealed who she was, but considering the circumstances, it probably wouldn't matter for now.

Instead, she simply took an apron, and tossed one over to the new person before putting on her own.

"Cut it out Boss!" Fuu gasped, "I'm not a fire-type? You're getting me mixed up with Kuro-kun, eheh!"

After defending herself from Jameson, Fuu stopped playing with the dials on the gas stove and slowly craned her neck up and around to at least get a glimpse at the new arrival. Yeah.. Scary cooking for a scary lady.. It seemed to suit her.

"Hi, I'm Fuu," She turned around and leaned over the bench top, with her hands and apron pressed up on the edge. She tilted her head and made a puzzled face, "Are you really Jameson's son?" Before Jen could stop her from making a complete idiot of herself, Fuu prattled on, "Its just that you seem too old to be, ya... eheh!"

She pulled a hand out, but only to adjust the flower behind her ear. "Good to meet you!" Fuu nodded.

Jameson's sudden movements were enough to make her reach for her own weapon, eyeballing the girl from whom she was being blocked. Robyn had never seen her before, but she gave off an air that was similar to, well, herself. The position of the girl's hand made her cautious of where she put her own. Whether it was a gun, knife, or something else, she had definitely been reaching for a weapon. Not that Robyn didn't have the same idea. But that was only second on her focus.

"Prodigal son. Really?" she asked with a hand on one hip and a raised eyebrow. This was not a question of hopeful inquiry, but moreso a "did you seriously just call me your prodigal son?" moment of put-off disbelief. She immediately began to think about the story and imagined Jameson giving her a giant paycheck, her going off and blowing it all, and coming back to grovel for her job back. Hah, as if that'd ever happen. Then again, she did leave for a long time and come back...but she wasn't any worse off financially.

She glanced back at the proposed "threat" named Chetri that Jameson had just stopped and caught the apron that was tossed to her. Next Robyn looked over at the other girl who addressed her. She appeared to be everything Robyn wasn't, aside from sporting a pair of boobs. She was perky, gave off a definite air of ditziness, and dressed more girly than she ever would. Her statement asking about whether she was ACTUALLY Jameson's son didn't help her case any. At least Fuu seemed...approachable?

"...I'm Robyn. Thrilled to be here,"
she said in response to the introduction.

The other girl she recognized from the last time she'd seen her at the agency. Jen, if she remembered correctly. From what she recalled, this girl was probably the most normal out of all of them, although Chetri still had the ability to prove herself. Robyn wouldn't have been all that put off to have a gun in her face, to be honest, as it's what she would have done. And Fuu, well...she was working on New Robyn, who would hopefully find a way to at least tolerate the girl.

Robyn redirected her attention to Jameson after his cooking comment. She may have looked like someone who didn't have time to learn how to cook a proper meal, but she couldn't afford takeout every night living by herself. It was far more fiscally responsible to grocery shop and make meals for pennies than pay $15 a day on fast food. Plus, if she'd been eating fast food every meal for six-ish years she'd probably weigh 300 pounds by now.

Still, she held her commentary, and took it up as a challenge. It'd be more fun to go through all of this under the assumption that she had no idea how to even boil water. The girl shed her winter clothes (though left her holsters where they were), tossed them on a nearby chair, and put on the apron likely to everyone's surprise. At least anyone who properly knew her. Which...wasn't really anyone.

"Clearly we're lucky to have such a culinary savior as Jameson in our midst. Instruct us in your ways, O Sensei." Do I detect a bit of sarcasm?

"Ossu! The gang's all here! Mostly all, anyhow." Jameson commented as next to show up was Robyn, Jen turning around and waving as the older girl with midnight-blue hair entered the kitchen, greeting her with a friendly smile. Come to think of it, where did she go anyway? Jen hadn't seen Robyn when they were preparing for their showdown with the Johnson 8. She probably had other problems to handle... elsewhere.

Jen's eyes grew wide as Chetri reached for a revolver - a Colt Python, from what Jen could tell - at Robyn, and just as quickly stood down when Jameson reassured the gray-haired girl that she wasn't an enemy. "Even Jen can't cook..? You girls are amazing.. Chetri's cooking is.. edible. I'm terrified to imagine what Robyn's tastes like and Fuu... I just hope she doesn't set fire to my house.." Jen resisted the urge to chuckle at this point, though as Fuu commented on her not being a fire-user the purple-haired girl cracked at this point and began chuckling.

"Fuu-chan!" Jen exclaimed at Fuu's self-introduction, as the village girl asked Robyn if she was really Jameson's prodigal son, and how she seemed too old. Seriously, that girl needed to learn some tact.

"...I'm Robyn. Thrilled to be here," The older girl replied. "Clearly we're lucky to have such a culinary savior as Jameson in our midst. Instruct us in your ways, O Sensei." The sarcasm wasn't lost on Jen, who clearly picked up on Robyn's rapier wit as she donned an apron.

"Nice to meet you, Robyn," Jen added. "So Jameson... do we get started now?" the purple-haired girl asked excited as she took out her PDA, ready to take notes on the process of making homemade chocolate.

"First we have to pray to the chocolate!" Jameson said clasping his hands together and bowing to it. "Please convey their feelings well, chocolate gods!" He said before turning to them.. "From there.."

.....

..........

..............

"...and finally we just set it into the oven.." Jameson said with a smile. "Placement is important, too close to the top or bottom will result in burned chocolates. The truffles are especially important.."

He walked over to a draw of home-made pocky, and chocolate dipped veggies taking one and munching on it before his eye twitched. He glanced to Chetri and exhaled sadly. "It's... It's exactly like a factory made the chocolates at a rate of 1,000,000 a day. It's got the taste of science in it.." Which was to say it tasted perfectly bland in every way.

Well if the point was to convey the feelings then this conveyed her lack of feelings. He wandered back over to his and took a bite. "AAAAAAAHH IT'S HOOOOOOOT!" Jameson shouted out taking a bite. "The Cayan peper was a great idea!" He said on the verge of tears. "People will understand my hotblooded love for them with one bite!"

"That... seems unusual. But, very well." she consented, actually getting on her knees and praying.

It seemed unusual someone like her would know how to pray, but then she'd had cover as an Italian for most of her operational life, and it probably came with the territory, although the knack for making fine food was decidedly lacking.

...

"I merely followed the recipe exactly." she said simply.

The measurements were done to the exact fraction with no individual deviation of any sort. No added ingredients, no spills or waste, no mismatched measurements, no margin of error. Nothing. As she said, everything about it was done exactly in accordance with the recipe.

The extent of her ability to cook was exactly that - the capability to follow a recipe with the utmost exactness. Have a gourmet chef direct her and she could probably match his actions to the millimetre. By that same vein, a standard recipe would be nothing more than that - standard and run of the mill. She might as well have been a factory.
