WDA ENDGAME: [Z]earth; Liberty Assault Team

The Liberty was a relatively small vessel. At least when compared to military ships and the Zion. It was little more than a yacht. Even so right now it was abuzz with activity. Guards crawled over the ships surface, armed and ready. Shining lights into the night and generally not providing a strong incentive for people to try busting into their shit unless they wanted a buffet style selection of bullet holes in their body.

Oliver was way more concerned with his balls turning into tiny diamond hard rocks and simply falling off if he didn't get out of this water soon. Seriously, this shit was COLD. Meanwhile he'd made it his personal goal to overtake Chetri. He wasn't shabby at this. Being a physically fit male with several feet more of reach and kick force it wasn't like it'd take a whole lot for him to get past her.

She wasn't the only one whom knew how to lead an assault. Not that he wanted to play 'whose dick is bigger' with her but at the same time he wasn't gonna let her treat him like a clinger-on. He reached the ladder and pulled himself up out of the water deftly. he hooked his leg onto it and reached back for her to 'help' her out of the water. "C'mon slowpoke. Don't slow me down." He said with a shit eating grin. "If you want you can paddle back to the skullgarry and leave this to me." He said before turning and climbing up, stopping before he went topside and clinging to the side so she could climb up.

"Nghh!" He grasped the ladder tightly as his left foot gave away, causing him to nearly slip off the ladder, nearly dropping himself right at the middle of the whole enemy crew. Not a good idea even when he have a meta-virus in his head and two Walther PP and two spare magazines in the sling bag he snagged from the Skullgarry. Quite lucky for him, though. The others don't seem to have noticed him.

It was the drive of wanting to be useful that made him undertake such dangerous mission. He couldn't stand staying by the safety of the spectators stand, doing nothing but stare towards nothingness hoping everything would turn out alright. That's not why he signed up for this. He came here to help and that's what he's gonna do. Even if he have no idea just how he's gonna take out an entire yacht all by himself. Well, he's just assisting, but still...

Chetri wasn't so much swimming quickly as she was trying trying to swim without being noticed, but that didn't really make it any easier. Her wetsuit provided some measure of protection from the freezing water, but not all that much.

Still, that wasn't exactly the main concern at the moment. She broke to the surface. It was perhaps a minute of exposure at most. Probably closer to 30 seconds really. She'd live easily.

Of a more immediate concern was Oliver blocking the way on the ladder on the side they were on. This was not the time for being competitive, especially not when it was getting in the way of the mission. The scuffle going on on the other side however, had at least gave them some leeway as far as making noise was concerned.

She didn't even bother taking his had. It would only slow them down and he was taking too long to climb. By the time he looked back, she was gone. One of the portholes on the side of the hull was now open.

In the time he'd been climbing, she'd instead grabbed into a part of the hull and quickly opened the unsecured porthole before throwing herself inside. She rolled t a stop in the middle of whichever room she'd ended up in and quickly drew her pistol.

She didnt even have to say or relay anything to Oliver for him to get the message. I said don't get in the way.

"Tch!" 'Annoying woman!' He turned his attention to climbing. He leaped over the railing onto the topside silently. He's spent years training these sorts of skills. Silent movement, sticking to shadows. Being aware of the line of sight of everyone around you. This was all something he was intimately familiar with.

'She's so annoying.' He crossed the small gap between the side of the ship and the entrance to the interior. He pressed his back to the wall and waited, keeping his breathing and motion to absolute silence. 'It's not just her cold disposition. It's the way she CONDESCENDS. I can't stand it!'

'Uh.. Sure. I'm a little busy.'

A single person moved out of the door. Oliver grabbed him, snapped his neck, took his gun and combat knife before using a deft shove to dump him off the side of the ship. 'I mean who does she think she is?' He thought as he holstered the weapons before he moved into the door.

Oliver waited until he was sure it was clear, slid down the ladder to the below deck and moved down the corridor.. 'It's not like she's BETTER than me! And my powers are more useful. I've done more for the group. I'm a more liked member of the team. Who is she? She's a bitch! That's who. Jesus! She's worse than ROBYN. I think Jameson just has a thing for hardasses. That'd explain his obsession with the dead gangster he still pines over.'

'Well that's not cool. Don't mention her. and besides, I really doubt Jameson hired a hit-woman over a nice ass.'

'Her ass is average. at best.'

'Really not the point. Anyhow. I know she's... hard to deal with. But is now really the time to have this conversation?'

He carefully made his way through the interior of the ship. At this point confrontation was a bad idea. With so many people and so much movement it'd be almost impossible to dispose of a body before he was noticed. And he still had to fight Johnson. Johnson was somewhere on this ship.. That was Olivers target. Leave the scientist to Chetri.. He was going to find Johnson..

'I just wish he wouldn't HIRE every chick that met his 'type'. 'Circumstances beyond his controle'. PUH-LEEZE. The only reason Chetri is on this team is because Jameson thought she's hot. I'm no stranger to using your cool job to score chicks but HIRING THEM? He's seriously an idiot.'

'OLVIER I AM GOING TO BLOCK YOU OUT. THIS IS REALLY NOT THE TIME FOR THIS.'

'Fine fine. Sheesh. Way to be a friend Beaumont. REAL CLASSY.'

~~~~
'Chetri... I just got word. The man you're looking for is named Leon Gingrich. He has a large scar over his right eye, He's the one behind the development of this cloning system. Eliminating him is imperative to our success on this mission. He located on the second level. Johnson's on the lower level in the cargo hold. I'll give you both clear directions and the locations of nearby enemies.'
He had to wait a few more minutes before he could drop down silently onto the deck. Note, by silently, I mean dropping with a painful stifled yell. While he's not exactly good in silent infiltration and the sort, he have just enough energy for V to take care of his landing so as to make as minimal of a sound as possible. The constant babble of the soldiers and the hard splashing of the waves easily masked the metallic thud he made when he landed.
He couldn't exactly idle about, though. He gritted his teeth, took out the silenced pistol in the slingbag, pulled the slide, cocking it. He's just doing this to feel safe, knowing that he's armed. He's not exactly keen on the idea of using it, however. He slinked ahead, ignoring the painful twinge on his leg every time he took a step forward. At this point, any confrontation with the enemy would spell disaster.
He ducked and weaved through and under obstacles, making his way to, eh... someone left the door open. Convenient. He peered through the door, making sure there's no one in there before entering the inner compound. At this point, the only place to go would be, uh... to go deeper?
He took hold of the ladder nearby, sliding down till he hit the lower floor. Only when he touche the floor with a dull thunk did he realize just how, uh... for the sake of using a softer word, unprepared he was.
How was he supposed to even 'assist' if he doesn't even know what he's supposed to be assisting in? Where are the others?
The convenience of knowing where everyone was could not be really understated for a stealth mission. Planning getting around people was alot easier when you know where they were, and her presence had gone largely unnoticed so far, or so it seemed.
Slipping through the gaps in security (or quietly making them with her knife as the need arose), she made her way towards her objective, like a leopard stalking it's prey, quickly, silently, and without remorse.
Oliver was almost to the bottom-
'Shit! Seth is there!'
'What?!'
'Soldiers are on the move towards him! Go, intercept them!'
Oliver took off down the hallway in a sprint. He pulled out his handgun, moving quick and low down the hallways. 'How did Seth get here?!' He spat as he moved.
'Things are a little chaotic right now, okay? I am having some trouble keeping up with everything!'
Oliver reached Seth shortly and grabbed his arm. 'Let's go!' He sent to Seth. 'Monty? Where's the enemy!'
'Ah.. To the south.. And.. Johnson's on the move! and... Ah.. Another team just passed by? ... No.. They're coming back! You're surrounded!'
"Shit!" Oliver spat drawing his side arm. He pulled out his Deamweaver 3.0 and slid open the apps. C.EM.BEAM He formed a beam of energy at his finger tips. On both sides groups of soldiers approached with guns. At the center was Johnson himself.
'Wh-what? He's there? How!? That's not right!'
Johnson grinned broadly. "I don't have any powers of my own.. But I can feel when a psychics screwing around in my head. I was subjected to some drug tests to make me untraceable when I was younger. The drugs were a failure but they gave me some... Let's call it leverage. The ability to pick up on an esper's power after i tune into it long enough. Listen in."
He planted his hands behind his back and smiled. "It's good to see you again. Zander."
Oliver clenched his fists as they were surrounded by soldiers with guns drawn. "Yeah. It's a real treat, old man."
He zipped through the corridor silently. Well, maybe zipped was an overstatement. He couldn't really handle much with half of his mobility ripped off from him. All he could do was limp from corners to corners, peering quietly around every turns to make sure the like was clear before moving onwards. Where to? He have no idea. The only thing he could do was to move in a general direction towards the center of the yacht, expecting the Oliver and Chetri to be heading there as well.
What he didn't expect was the rumble of metallic footsteps getting louder and louder every second.
...wait...
Oh shit.
"What is it?" Seth asked, mildly concerned at the anxiety in V's voice.
Seth, give me your arms.
"What? Why?"
Just, give me that!
Even as the meta-virus said that, the sound of dozens of footsteps clanging and stamping on metal grew so loud they might as well have been going at his direction. And sure enough, when Seth stared ahead in front of him...
There was an entire platoon of rifle-wielding henchmen, all of them had their sights on him. "What the...! How did they...?!" He stammered in disbelief. As far as he could remember, he hadn't left anything that could lead them directly towards him! Or did he slip up somewhere?
DOESN'T MATTER NOW DOES IT?!
V yelled loudly, his voice echoing through the whole corridor. Since they already knew that they're here, keeping a low profile is just redundant. He forcibly took control of Seth's arm, raising the pistol in front of him with both hands. Since they're pretty much flocked together, aiming is just a matter of not hitting the wall. "What... V WAIT-" Like that's actually gonna stop three bullets flying through the air after three bright flash was emitted from the muzzle of the pistol. He didn't stop to see whether it hits or not, though. RUN, RUN!!! He didn't take control of his whole body, just to conserve energy. Seth immediately turned around the corner behind him, determined to make as much distance from them as possible. And if it could be done, lose them.
His main objective was still to get deeper into the ship, though.
It was a surprisingly light guard for someone so important. She'd only had to go through 2 people before finding the room she was looking for. Chetri carefully turned the handle with her left hand...
...and then violently kicked it in, bursting into the room with her pistol leading the way. Again, she was clean and efficient, firing a pair of rounds into the head of each guard before they could comprehend what was happening. The scientist went down last, getting up from his seat and reaching for a weapon before several more rounds cut him short.
The bloody affair took less than 2 seconds.
Chetri scanned the room quickly for more people, but it was a small ship, and thus cramped for space. There wasn't anyone else. She kicked over the body in the lab coat to make sure he was dead. There was a faint twitch, but it was cut short as another bullet cracked through the top of his skull.
"Good night Mister Gingrich," she whispered quietly. "May you rest in peace. Choose your occupation more wisely in your next life."
There was another crack in the distance. Just barely above the din of the running engine. Several in succession, like gunfire, but she was unable to tell distance or localise the direction.
...Suppressed weapons. It was definitely one of the Walther PPs she'd handed out to people earlier, but to be heard at all in the hallways meant that it was coming from inside the ship rather than on deck. ..What was going on out there?
Johnson and Oliver walked slowly across the ship. Several men pointed guns at his back and frankly he didn't feel like testing his bullet dodging. As such he was calmly lead down the hallways towards Johnson's quarters.
"You look like you're in good shape.."
"A rusty blade is a rusty spirit. A person that properly maintains their body and equipment can rely on it..."
"Hmph.. I take it you stick to your regimin?"
"Four years of mind numbing repetition doesn't wash out in a day. Wake up a four every morning to jog. By five i clean my room, clothes, wash and dress. Five thirty I cook."
"You even stick to our meal times?"
'Beaumont..'
"Six A.M. Every morning.. A routine adds stability in a chaotic world. How was is..? "Life throws so much at us. It's foolish to not control that which can be controlled.'."
"It must be lonely."
'BEAUMONT!'
"That man.." Oliver paused with a smile. "He wakes up every morning and comes down to eat with me. Even if he only went to sleep right before. Even if he goes back right after.. Every day.."
'MONTY?!'
"Jameson was a good boy when I met him. It was always one of my biggest oversights that I never recruited him."
The two entered the room and the door locked behind them..
~~~~~

Soldiers closed in on Seth's position from every direction. The hallways were covered and they were very obviously corralling him towards a hallway with no exit. They approached with guns drawn, sending a spray of bullets down the hallway. Two teams of four men each. This was very obviously not going to end well.

He'd find all exits were covered. There was no escape..

~~~~
A loud explosion rocked the ship. Not from within but from outside at the Zion. The large ship tossed from one side to the other before letting out a low groan. Almost immediately the ship began to sink into the water..
Oliver from nearby clenched his fists as his face paled.
"And with that this whole farce is over.." Johnson said with a smile. "It's sinking into the ocean where no one will ever find it.. Or your friends on board. The corridors are sealed.. There's no escape."
"But your men!"
"We're immortal. Who cares if we die?"
"We already took out your scientist! And the ships going to be blown up!"
"Hah! The scientist did his part already.. I have the blue prints here on the yacht."
"..Tch.. another failsafe..."
"It's over.." He turned clicking on remote which activated a monitor showing a smoking pule of rubble. "The former WDA... What a stupidly insignificant place to have caused me this much trouble.." He hit a button switching view to the Skullgarry being blown apart by a rocket. "We found your little escape vessel.."
He walked over to his phone.
"You there, pulse?"
"i'm here, boss."
"Have him say a farewell.."
"You heard the man. Tell your buddy goodbye."
"...Everything.. is going.. to be OK Oliver.. Trust me.."
"JAMESON!"
"Eliminate him."
"Roger."
The sound of a single shot followed by silence. Johnson smiled and switched the comms off. "And with that it's over. You can hear the gunfire in the hallway. Your friends are going to die.. Sooner or later. The ones on the sub that aren't dead have nowhere to run. Try reaching them. Use your little.. psychic network. I PROMISE you'll find nothing.. It's over.."
"I don't... believe he's dead.."
"..you heard it yourself."
"I know.." Oliver laughed slapping his forehead. "I know! It's absurd! But.. I don't belive it!"
"You're in denial. Or you've cracked."
"It might defy logic.." Oliver said with a tihn smile looking down. "Maybe by all rights I should give in and believe you.." He reached to his side and drew his combat knife. "But I won't give up on them!"
'Jameson...
Chetri..
Aki..
Crow..
Seth..
Jen..
and Fuu.. I'll try.. believing in them'
He grit his teeth. "I don't care if it defies logic! If there's some way to survive this, then they will! I believe that! Not because logic tells me too.. But because it's want I want to believe! I want to trust them! And I won't let you tell me they're dead..." He clenched his jaw as he tightened his grip. "You taught me that in a mission there's rarely any assurance that all the parts of the plan went well.. but that we can't second guess our comrades! We have to trust them.."
Trust me
"I DO TRUST THEM! THEY'RE MY ALLIES! AND THEY'LL SURVIVE... WHICH MAKES IT MY JOB TO FINISH YOU OFF!" He looked down, exhaling. His tone became even. He even sounded.. relaxed.
"If I don't, If I falter now.. I'll disgrace those whom did all this for my sake!"
"Hahah! What a stupid way of thinking!"
"You didn't used to think so!" Oliver rushed in towards him, using his blade he slammed into Johnson's. Blades of steel, wills of steel, both clashed sending sparks in that dimly lit room. "JOHNSON!"
"You're a traitor! I'll give you a traitor's death! ZANDER!"
"Shitshitshitshithsitshitshitshit....!!!!"
That's some swearing you-
"V, SHUT UP!!!"
He rushed through the corridor as fast as his half-functioning legs could carry him, turning and ducking around corners barely avoiding deaths from the bullets being rained down on him. It bounced off the floor, made holes on the walls, and the thunderous deafening bangs and bright blinding flash was seriously messing his senses. He kept on running for his life, turning around every now and then by V's direction to allow him to fire a few shots in retaliation, not even knowing where his legs had brought him. All he could think of was to get as far away from the rumbling footsteps of the soldiers as possible.
He kept on running, having to take a detour every now and then to avoid having to meet up with even more soldiers up ahead. What the hell, they're everywhere! Every time he turns around a corner he would find soldiers, soldiers, and more soldiers blocking his way, forcing him to take an alternative route to stay away from their clutches. It's pretty weird, though. It's like they knew where he was going all along, and was attempting to lead him to-
"Oh- ohno..." He slowed down to a halt, having just run into a dead end. He turned around-
Only to find himself face-to-face with a group of soldiers, all of them with their rifles trained on him.
It's a pinch.
Seth backed down to the wall, gripping tightly the pistol in his hands. His back touched the wall as he realized the true gravity of this situation. He's alone, armed with a gun with only about three shots in it, cornered by a group of soldiers whose numbers are well beyond the numbers of shots he have, all given the order to kill him and feed his corpse to the fishes.
As much as he wanted to avoid the thought, he can't help it from drifting across his head.
Is this it?
Morbid much? Not really. This is reality. Right in front of him are eight different faces, all going by the name of Death, all of them staring right into his eyes, at his soul like a hungry wolf eying a helpless injured lamb.
Wait, this can't be happening...
It's happening.
I can't die here...
What else do you think would happen next?
This is ridiculous... he came here, fully knowing that this may as well cost him his life. He made this decision himself, he was prepared to even die. Not so much as taking a life himself, but he's used to putting his own life in danger. Remember the fights against the Shadowborns he had with Leo? Don't forget the death match he had with the ice demon on Mount. Hayaku. And just now too, he nearly froze to death in a giant freezer. And now he had managed to get himself in another one of those life-threatening situation.
Except this time, there doesn't seem to be any way for him to escape.
Look up, left, right, down, front, back, there's no way for him to make his exit without taking a bullet in his skull. All in all, it seemed like this is the end of his story.
No way... he... he can't die here...
He doesn't want to die...
He had so much things he wanted to do...
The WDA, Jameson, Oliver, Chetri, Aki, Crow, Jen, Fuu, V...
...His life... can't end now. He had banked everything on this mission. He wanted it to succeed, so that all the happy times he used to enjoy would stay. He was devastated when Jameson announced the closure of the Willicott Detective Agency during the Christmas Party. Now he's got a chance to make him take back his word, he's not gonna let it slide. He doesn't let some impending doom like V tear his spirit apart, so why the hell should he let a group of armed soldiers put him down?
Oi. Kid.
"Yeah?"
What's taking you so long?
"Was it really that long?"
Not really. But you sure were thinking about a lot.
"Ah. Sorry about that. ... V-"
Don't go all sentimental on me, brat. I hate that. Said V with a mark of annoyance.
"I wasn't going to," Replied Seth with a small laugh. "Actually, I was wondering if you could... you know, the thing you did back then back at the mountain,"
Mmm... You sure you can handle it?
"I thought it's your job to make sure I don't die?"
Touche.
Just don't kill them...
"I'll try to hold back,"
He said, with an evil smirk.
Well, enough talking. He raised his hands to the air, releasing the pistol. But before it could even touch the floor-
His entire body corroded, every single part of his body was broken down from the inside. He's, metaphorically, but literally as well, eating himself. Remember that V can only work with his body if he had enough energy in him. And the amount of energy he could have at one time depends highly on what he eats everyday. But right now there's nothing to eat. So he took the next best option. He lets V eat him from the inside.
At first he was at the wall, the next second he was staring right at the face of the closest of his would-be captor. "Sleep tight," A fist flew out of nowhere, connecting itself right at the man's temple with a considerable force that knocked him out. The others never got the chance to react. Before the unconscious man even hits the ground, V had already moved on to the man next to him, throwing an uppercut straight at his jaw. And the others, he slammed his feet to their midriff, elbowed their faces, throwing them at the wall, smashed their noses with his foot, grabbed, yanked, knocked and kicked their weapons off from their hands.
All done in less than five seconds.
As the ones still unconscious groaned in pain, struggling to get a hold of their situation, trying to determine up from down, V snagged the pistol he dropped earlier. There's only three shots left, and he could have taken their weapons, but the small pocket pistol is the only one he have confidence in using. Without waiting for them to rise, he rushed ahead along the hallway, determined to make as much distance from them as possible.
One of the downside of not feeling any pain, is that he doesn't know just how much damage his body had taken.
The yacht wasn't all that big, perhaps 60 metres long, and it didn't have all that many decks either. At full speed, she covered the distance in about 4 seconds, nearly running into Seth.
"What are you doing here?" she asked in surprise, having unconsciously trained her weapon at him when he ran right at her. One of the men behind Seth started getting up, and she reflexively pushed him down and out of the way as she fired.
In retrospect, she thought better of the question "Nevermind, there's no time. Just get off the boat now, we're going to blow it up as soon as everyone is out. There's a porthole that way, just jump out and swim back to the skullgarry. Go."
Chetri wouldn't take no for an answer. It wasn't like he had a choice as she practically pushed him into the correct direction as she finished dealing the semiconscious guards he left behind.
She had a bad feeling about something. As unscientific and illogical as it might have seemed to others, this was a business in which you quickly learned to trust your instincts.
Beaumont, where's Oliver? she asked.
Chetri would find no reply. Slowly men approached the lower area. The two would only have a moment to disappear before they were besieged by machine gun fire once more..
~~~~~~~

"AN OPENING!" Johnson roared as oliver dove forward with a thrust of his blade. Johnson slammed his knife deep into Oliver's shoulder. Oliver barreled forward without pause, ripping open Johnson's vest and causing his Deamweaver 3.0 to fall out. He fell forward grabbing it and taking johnson's knife with him by virtue of it being dug six inches deep in his shoulder blade.

He stood, teeth clenched as he forced himself to stay alert. Searing pain exploded through his skull as he loaded up C.EM.BEAM. His stomach churned a shockwave of pain rushed over him. He clenched his jaw reaching for the knife and pulling it out forcefully. "AUGGHH!!"

Johnson laughed a bit as he picked up Oliver's discarded knife. "I always saw you as one of my best students.. You were strong willed.. A real team player. You weren't much in the way of social skills and you always tried to act distant but you easily formed strong bonds with people... You were soft but a good kid. I knew you'd do right by your country."

"None of that.. changed.." Olvier said as his arm hung useless at his side. He used a finger to cauterize the wound before he bled out all over the floor. He was struggling to stay conscious. But he only had to make one shot so it didn't matter. "You're the one whom defected.."

"After thirty years of dignified service to my country they refused me the one request of continuing the phoenix project.. That boy gave his life but budget issues were more important than saving him.. My country betrayed me. And every soldier that program could save." Johnson said as he stood in front of his desk.

"That's just it isn't it.. You're a father whom doesn't know how to grieve.. You lost a boy you cared about and snapped. You just wanted to save him at any cost.. Even if it meant the ones whom were still alive had to be sacrificed..."

"They made the choice."

"Any son would for his father. They trust you too much! You betrayed it!"

"Take the shot." Johnson said as his expression faded. "If you truly believe in your cause then do it!"

Oliver raised a hand towards him gathering light into a laser. "Why... why would you betray us like this?!"

"If oyu really beleive, I.. The man whom raised you. The man you spent four years with. The man whom taught you everything you know.. If you think I've ever taken a step off of my path.. Away from my own justice. Away from what you deem is right. If you think that I am a danger to the world.. Then take your shot.. But if not then don't stand there pretending you're going to. What's my rule?"

"...Don't aim a gun.."

"You don't intend to shoot."

Oliver felt the energy at his finger tips. All it'd take was one twitch of his hand. That was all he needed. He just.. Just one action and it was over.. All of this. But even so he couldn't. Even though he knew all the evil this man had done.. Even so Oliver couldn't. Not Johnson.. Not the closest thing he'd had to a father.. ".....GHK!" Oliver lowered his hand.. "Damn.." He clenched his eyes. "Just surrender. please..For the love of god, Johnson! Don't make me finish it!"

Johnson puleld a gun form under the edge of his desk and pulled back the hammer. Before Oliver could react Johnson had crossed the room and sent a shot in to Oliver's leg dropping him. He shoved a foot hard into Oliver's stabbed shoulder forcing an agonized scream from the boy. He lowered the gun on Oliver. "I'm not sure whether I should be glad that fortune smiled on me or ashamed that I trained a man whom can't do what he has to when duty calls."

He pushed his foot down with increasing pressure sending Oliver into pained cries. He pulled back the hammer. "Goodbye, Zander."

"Oliver get down!" a voice shouted as the doorway gave way violently.

Several shots rang into the room right after the warning. The suppressor couldn't contain all the noise, not in so small a room, and the steel bulkheads echoed with the sound of the gunfire.

Moments earlier

"We don't have time, I'll hold them off until you go and then get out myself, move quickly." She ordered, as weak sparks slammed into the metal bulkheads around them from gunfire.

It was almost surreal how calm she was, even under these circumstances, but training and experience steadied ones nerves, and familiarity dulled the charge of it. It was a scene she'd experienced countless times. Her eyes glowed once more as her body surged with energy.

She could see the trajectories of the bullets, she could see where they were firing from. She could see and hear everything through the deafining noise... and a faint echo that reverbed through the hallways that she could just barely make out.

...

Like a shout from combatants that were somewhere just behind the curtain of fire.

...There wasn't time. She burst into a sprint, firing into the crowd and expending the rest of her magazine, and reloaded as she ran. The source of the noise was somewhere in the rear... about 40 metres or so... easy time, just behind a steel door...

One does not simply eat one packet of mee goreng
"Frikkin'... and I thought we're done with swimming today..." He muttered angrily, as he kicked open the porthole before jumping out through it and right into the water. And it's frikkin' cold, what with it being night time and all. The wetsuit did help, but it's not like he's liking it.

He took a look around, finding nothing in sight. The Skullgarry must be at the other side, thought Seth. Well he's not gonna swim AROUND the yacht when he could just grab the ladder right next to him and climb topside. At least he didn't have to stay in the frigid cold water.

And up the ladder he goes, stopping just before he reaches the top deck. He peered over it, noticing the whole deck to be completely deserted. That shouldn't be surprising, since the whole army is pretty much within the interior of the yacht, all of them hell-bent on murdering the two (minus one) intruders of the ship. A part of him was worried of Chetri's safety, but V assured him that she's way more capable than taking care of herself. It's just a hunch, but he couldn't help but think that he's right.

Deeming it safe, he climbed over to the deck, straightening up, and-

...

......why does it feel like something's missing...?

Something doesn't feel right... he rushed over to the other side of the ship.

No way... that's... that's not...

He desperately tries to deny something so blatantly obvious right in front of his very own two eyeballs.

It... no... I'm just... hallucinating, right...? Ahahahah...! Yeah! That's right! Hallucinating!

He slapped himself twice on both side of his face, rubbed his watery eyes and stared ahead again.

Nothing. Nothing but the endless sight of salty water. There was no giant submarine, there was no fighting Aki or Crow or Heavy Metal... and he saw... a small speck of something on the surface of the water. It looked small from this height, and it WAS small to begin with. But somehow, something about it made it seemed smaller than how he expected it to look like.

A singed, derelict, smoking remains of the Skullgarry.

...

"...no... No... nononoNonONONONONO!!!!!!"

His mind broke, his spirit shattered, destroyed completely to millions of tiny little pieces, worse than even the shattered bones in his body. The hands on the railing gripped tightly, forming a grip-shaped dent on the railing. That wasn't enough. He ripped the railing off from the ship with a loud metallic ripping sound, and threw it across the sea.

NO!!! THEY'RE NOT..!! THEY'RE NOT...

WHA-SETH, STOP!!!

He slammed his hands on the ship, disintegrating a large portion of the yacht around him. "AAAAAGGHHHHH!!!!!" He grabbed a part of the broken yacht, ripping off a part of the yacht almost four times his size. Without really aiming anywhere, he tossed it at the middle part of the yacht at high speed, with force comparable to a speeding car crashing to a wall.

SHIT! SETH, FUCKING STOP!!!

He didn't listen. Or rather, he couldn't listen. His mind was blank, his senses dulled, he couldn't think, he couldn't do anything besides rampage about to vent off the feeling of ultimate despair off from his heart. Tears poured endlessly from his eyes as he smashed, blasted, tore, ripped, shredded, flattened everything he could see and reach without any discrimination.

They can't be dead... they can't be...

In less than a minute, almost half of the deck was destroyed.
