One does not simply eat one packet of mee goreng

In the snowy sidewalk of the suburban district, the sight of a single girl sitting on a bench with a lollipop in her mouth seemed a bit lonely. Somehow this vaguely reminded him of a distressed girl in an authentic Italian pinstriped suit, lost in thought in front of a dingy and dysfunctional office that also serves as their workplace. But that was a different situation than this one. The sleek haired, drunken girl from before was a girl without anyone to rely on, the girl who had once lost everything, gained a lot of thing only to lose everything yet again in less than ten minutes (and gained everything back a few days later). Right in front of him was a girl with a family. She just looked lonely. Sighing slightly, he plopped himself on the bench next to her, popping in the stick of hardened lemon-flavored cream caramel into his mouth, eying her feline figure as her tail swished left and right. Okay, so she might not really be fully feline. All she have is a couple of cat ears, a cat tail and a cat behavior. But then again, her sister looked normal enough. Was it possible to have such magnitude of gene mutation? Highly improbable. Possible, yes. Look at V. He's a mutant super-virus. But even so, it's highly improbable. Which probably means... "Say. Quinn's not really your sister, right?" |

The blue-haired girl was surprised he hadn't left yet. By the way he was acting earlier, it seemed he really didn't like her. Or perhaps that was the virus. Her tail swished from left to right impatiently but her body sat still on the cold, hard bench. Her eyes looked over as Seth sat down beside her but she paid it little mind. She didn't mind. They were friends right? And friends share stuff. Even benches that didn't even belong to them. "Say. Quinn's not really your sister, right?" Cho paused, then shook her head slowly. Everyone was always that. Misunderstanding her. But Cho never corrected them. That was fine with her. Everyone would leave her anyway. Even Quinn. She was fine with that. It didn't bother Cho .. not especially. Deep inside, yeah, sometimes she felt a little lonely. But what could she do? She didn't have many friends.. Interacting with people only seemed to bother them. "She's.. my cousin." It was hard. Her answers were always simple and short. She couldn't talk a lot like Quinn could. "I'm sorry," she said with even a little emotion in her voice, "I'm not good at.. interacting with people." You could tell she was sincerely trying. |

Not good? She's talking just fine in his opinion. Okay, so she might speak less than a certain quiet gray-haired girl, but still, that's not exactly his standard on 'not good at interacting with people'. Even so, he could hear the strain in her voice. Even speaking seemed to take a great deal of effort from her. No, not that she LITERALLY had difficulty speaking. It's not like her voice box was broken or something. More like the strain from those who are not used to interacting with people. Like someone who had kept to themselves for a long amount of time, someone who barely interacted with anyone for almost their entire life. Of course, he doesn't understand it. He's a pretty open person himself. Well... to be frank once he did thought about cutting all ties with the rest of the world, fearful that the knowledge of the existence of V would be known to the public. He considered it, weighed his chances, calculated what he would gain and lose, and his decision? Alienating himself from the public is just stupid, really. Those people he had known and loved, those people gave him reason to live. His parents, his sister, his friends, the WDA, he loved every single one of them. He wanted to spend time with them. And if he didn't manage to, you know... He didn't want to spend the time alone. "I suppose it's a bit hard to talk to strangers," He said, smiling meekly and scratching his head. "We don't even know each other that well, anyway," A slight pause, as he stretched his fingers. Ugh, handling guns are certainly not his thing. After a moment of silence, he said, "Maybe you could start... by telling me about your family?" |

Another hesitation. What could she say really? She was brought up fairly normally. She wasn't punished or mistreated or abused physically or emotionally. But neither was she close to them. "My .. family." Her eyes drifted toward her hands as she spoke. "I have a mother and father. Two elder brothers. I'm the youngest.." This was the first time she was asked such a question. No-one had ever wanted to know about her.. But what she had said was so simple and short. She had answered his question but she didn't think it felt right. Maybe she needed to talk more. It felt so weird though. "I don't talk much," explains Cho, "But I say what I need to say." Hmm.. Maybe she could tell him their names. "M-My brothers.. the older one is Ryuu and .. the younger one is Naito." Her voice sounded so alien to her. This definitely was weird. Cho fidgeted with her fingers while saying, "I .. I want to talk to the virus as well. If I can?" What was this? Cho being nervous? What has gotten into her..? Truth was, Cho was far more interested in what the virus had to say than the boy. I mean, he was a virus. How could he even have thoughts and opinions like that? It baffled the Neko. NOT that she didn't want to talk to Seth.. Edited by Slyte, Jan 25 2011, 10:40 PM.

Wait... what? That's not something you hear people say to a sick person. But then again his sickness is kinda special. But what really intrigued him is that she actually requested to talk V. Not that he minded. V is rather intriguing himself. I mean, a super-virus with sentient capability? Who doesn't want to know anything about such technological breakthrough? What says V? Heck, even he's surprised as well. While this isn't the first time he'd spoken to others, most of the time it's always been as a demon, a vague excuse of a schizophrenic condition, or as Seth himself. This is the first. Someone actually wanted to talk to him as who he is, as V. Being the one who knows V better than anyone else, Seth had expected him to reply in the most jerkass of manner, whether through his mouth or in his head. What he didn't expect is for him to stay silent about it. Nothing came from his for a whole minute as Seth waited nervously for his response. Then, his mouth moved... "What do you want?" Now that's quite a rarity. His voice, for once, was soft and controlled (though still cold) instead of the usual loud and brash with spits and swear words flying everywhere. Honestly, he was quite grateful that there's someone other than Seth who would accept him for who he is. |

Cho waited anxiously through the silence, unsure of why she requested such a thing in the first place. I mean, it was clear from their earlier encounter that he didn't want to talk about it. Hell, the virus would probably refuse to talk to her, as much as that would disappoint her. Her tail was dead still, as if she moved it at all it would definitely make him not talk to her. Then he spoke. His voice sounded so different, yet exactly the same. Their inflections were completely different so it wasn't hard to tell. He sounded softer this time around though, albeit still cold and sharp. Cho's face lightened up and there was a slight tug on her lips. No smile, but she never smiles. Her mind rushed through what she should say.. What if she said something and he changed his mind? It was odd for Cho to be so worried. "Ah.. Do you .. have a name?" She met his gaze with curious eyes. Maybe Seth had developed a nickname or something. She couldn't just go around saying "the virus" all the time. She wondered whether she should introduce herself again or whether it knows what Seth knows. Just in case though.. "My name is Nagasaki Cho." |

"I know that already, stupid," And there it is. The trademark snarky douchy attitude of his. Sorry, but a mountain changing place is much more believable than a person changing personality. And it would be highly worrisome to Seth if V really did change from the swear-happy rotten hearted killer to someone sweet and sugary and loves ponies. Kaaay, that might be a little bit exaggerated. "Heh, I don't really have a name," Which was true, if one thinks about clearly enough. Does a silent technically non-existent killer virus have any need for a name? Technically speaking, if one were to name him, they would need to add numbers behind his name, since there's practically millions even billions of a single entity virus inside a human body. That would be too much of a hassle. But he does have a name. A name that he himself chose the moment he could interact with the whole world through Seth. True, it sounds a bit stupid, true, it sounds ridiculously vulgar. But it's still his name. Something that defines who he is, something that makes him someone. It's a compliment to something. "Just call me V. That's what they all call me anyway," He said, turning away facing forward instead. What others call you, yeah right. More like what you like to call yourself. Now ain't this ironic. The loudmouth is engaging in a one-liner conversation with a quiet introverted girl. |

"V.. I see." Cho was curious as to who 'they' referred to but didn't say anything. "It's nice to meet you, V." She bowed in respect, something she rarely did. This 'V' seemed to have quite a personality, calling her stupid all the time, talking so loud and seeming so arrogant. She wondered what had made him like that, or perhaps he was just created like that. He sort of reminded her of .. Deus. Cho had so many questions for him, but she didn't want it to end up like before. While she thought, there was a silence between them. Why did Cho have to be so bad at socializing? And why did she suddenly have the urge to be scratched behind the ears?! Already, her body had crouched down beside him and nuzzling at his hand. |

As normal as it is to have a cat rubbing up on you whenever it wants to be scratched, having a human-sized, human-shaped cat with the only defining cat features being the tail, the cat ear and the cat behavior suddenly nudging V to scratch her behind the ears was no less than shocking. At first he only stared at her peculiar (for someone who looks so human) behavior, then he raised his hand. Placing it on her ears... And pinched it. HARD. As if that wasn't enough, he yanked it. HARD. REALLY HARD. "Oioioi..." V growled, eying her with a deathly glare. "What do you think you're doing? If you want to get scratched then do it yourself. You have frikkin' human arms, dammit," |

Cho let out a screech and pulled back from him, her ears hurting from being mistreated. All he had to do was pull her tail and he'd be all set. What a douche! That was the last time she was going to try showing affection. Staring angrily up at V, she looked down before .. CHOMP! She bit his other hand. Throwing her nose in the air and walking off with her head held high, she didn't bother looking back. Right now, the feeling of dislike was mutual. |
