Chizu's eyes widened when she realized who was in front of her, the color draining from her face. Long black hair, ice cold eyes, a black coat...She knew who it was, recognized him almost instantly. Before he could say anything, she had vaulted over her desk, her foot sailing squarely towards his chest. In a flash, he was gone and she landed on the floor of her office, spinning around neatly to face him as he reappeared behind her. Her eyes narrowed dangerously. He stood his ground and watched her, unmoving. "I'm sure you have some questions, but right now there isn't enough time to answer. I'll make this short and sweet, I'm not here entirely by free will. Truth be told, I'm not even technically here. I'm just a memory." Chizu froze and watched him for a moment, before slowly lowering her arms. She kept her body tense, though, ready to move at the slightest moment as Kinclex stepped forward. The air in the room suddenly went still as he met her eyes. "However, I need your help. More importantly, Nickle does. Be at his house in 1 hour. Time is of the essence." Then he was gone, a wisp of black smoke trailing in the air where he had been. Chizu landed on the wall, a single puff of air escaping her mouth and forming white smoke as she took a deep breath. She reached up, wiping the sweat from her forehead. It was cold outside, and the cold air on the surface of whatever skin was exposed chilled her, but inside she was warm from having run all the way here. She dropped down onto the other side of the wall, heading towards the front door. The lights were out, and her senses were on high alert, her mind fixing itself on the wind so that she would be able to detect any movement around her. She walked up to the door, fishing for her key. She had tried to call Nickle several times on the way here, but no answer. Her heart beat quickly in her chest, both from worry and the physical exertion, and she had to will herself to calm down and stay focused. She wanted to think that it was probably nothing. But 'probably nothing' never explained Kinclex. She fished a keychain out of her pocket. Nickle had given her a key shortly after they started dating, but she had never had to use it. It wasn't like she came here when nobody was home anyway. Chizu slid the key into the lock, twisting it and opening the door slowly. It was dark inside the house too. She didn't bother with her shoes. It was rude, but if this was an emergency, Nickle would forgive her. Besides, Nickle was part-American. Her hand moved, flipping the light switch on as she held her breath. Edited by Chizu, Jan 22 2011, 05:29 PM.

As the light went on, she would be greeted by the form of Kinclex. It was all too familiar by now and to those who'd met him before, would be able to spot the differences beteen him and Nickle in an instant. He stood there though and for the first time, there didn't seem to be such a dangerous air about him. It had been replaced, by a strange focus, one could almost call it calmness. "Good to see you came, Chizu." Kinclex had been leaning against one of the wooden pillars that supported the house and moved off it upon her entry. He sighed, rolling his shoulders, "I'm sure you've got a lot of questions. Two of the main one's being these. How is it that I'm alive, and what has happened to Nickle." He didn't move. He felt she'd be uncomfortable with him too close to her. "I'm actually not alive. I'm only a memory from Nickle's mind that managed to escape using a portion of power from the man who captured Nickle. I'm not the Kinclex you've encountered in the past, I'm more a whole person than ever was in the past and as a result, the evil from before has waned." There, that should at least put her at ease about him. But the news that was to come after was going to possibly be more than upsetting. "Now as to the reason why I called you here. Not too long ago, Nickle was beaten in the graveyard by a remnant of the Wo-Shing. A man who calls himself Illtist Fray. During my time with them, I'd never encountered him and neither had Nickle. The battle was...difficult to say the least and Nickle lost and was captured." Kinclex folded his arms and closed his eyes for a moment, "I don't know the full extent of his motives, but I can tell you the man is on a whole other level of sicko that rivals Cain and Lillian combined." Kinclex looked Chizu square in the eye, "When I escaped, Nickle was lying on an operating table with his chest cavity ripped open. Alive, but completely at his mercy." Kinclex was trying to answer as much as possible now so they could consider who they were going to deal with this later, "If Nickle couldn't stop him, then I would have had no chance. That's why I've come to you. The last thing on his mind before I escaped, was you." |

The lights went on, revealing Kinclex. Chizu looked up at him, unsurprised. She had been expecting to see him here, after all. She didn't speak as he greeted her, her shoulders tense as she prepared to move just in case he was lying. When he told her why he was here, though, her body tensed for an entirely different reason. Nickle. In the past, in situations like this, she had fought out of fear. Out of fear of being alone again, of having the friends and loved ones she had finally won ripped away from her just as she was starting to think she didn't have to be alone. It was her worst fear, and to say she didn't feel it now would be a lie. But her fear for Nickle had taken a back seat to another emotion, not completely separate but distinct from fear. Anger. The more Kinclex spoke, the more that first initial stab of fear at hearing Nickle had been captured was replaced by smoldering rage. Her eyes narrowed and hardened, until they looked more like two pinpricks of crimson fire or blood. Her fists clenched at her side, and just as in the Wind Tower, all the air in the area suddenly stilled. Kinclex would be no stranger to Chizu's anger, but if he compared how it was now to how it had been when they first met, he would notice one major difference. In the past, Chizu's temper had been mostly external. If she was angry, the whole world would know about it, either through words or actions. Now, though, like the wind around her, Chizu's body had gone completely still. She looked up when he was finished, her shoulders shaking slightly. "Where?" |

Kinclex watched her carefully, ever ready to react in case she did. But instead, Chizu didn't move, she remained calm on the outside, even though her eyes showed the hellfire that was brewing within her. He had to admit, he was impressed. In the past he'd have said she was gaining some qualities akin to him. But that would be arrogance speaking. She had observed herself, learnt from her actions and grown in her own way. He answered her single word as soon as she spoke it. "The Museum downtown." He then moved in front of her, appearing so as to block any route torwards the door. "I can't let you go alone though. I won't be able to help much as I am now, so you're going to need to find some people to help you. This man, Illtist Fray, he's a monster the likes of which you've never seen." Kinclex stood there a moment longer, letting it sink in before moving away from the exit and down the walkway that would lead to Nickle's room. "Come with me. There's somthing Nickle wanted you to have should anything ever happen to him." He opened the heavy sliding door to Nickle's room and went inside. The room was fairly clean, with not much decoration. wooden walls, a small window for ventilation and a desk with a laptop and other small pieces of paraphenalia scattered on it. There were our small photo frames in the corner of the desk. The first being a picture of a grinning 10 year old Nickle with his parents. It was hard to imagine he'd ever been that short and scrawny or that his smile was even wider when he was younger. Next to that was a picture of himself and Cerium, clearly Cerium having taken a self shot with her arm wrapped around her cousin. The second most to the front was a group photo of Nickle, Celestial and Sugar. Then, there was one final photo. It was of Chizu busy working behind her desk in the Wind Tower. Judging by the angle, it looked as if Nickle had asked one of the Sylphs to take it for him. Kinclex had moved to a blank wall on the one side of the room, next to a Calender Nickle had of some girls in bikinis. He searched the wall before finding a secret switch that opened up a single cupboard and a set of 3 draws. As Chizu looked around the room some more however, she would notice something very familiar, but not always noticed. It was a blue piece of clothe. It was something that was almost always on Nickle's left arm. He never went anywhere without it on most days. It had seemed like today, he had considered putting it on and then second guessed himself, tossing it onto the bed. "He didn't tell me this, but in his mind he had always wanted you to hold onto this if something bad ever happened to him." Kinclex had taken out two things. A set of clothes with boots and shoulder pads, apparantly Chizu's size, and Nickle's trademark sword, Kaneryuu. "He must have suspected something bad was gonna happen to him at some point and he wouldn't be able to handle it. I think that's why, he always tried his best to look out for you and protect you." |

If Kinclex hadn't moved to block her, Chizu would already have been out the door, riding on a gale of wind to push herself up into the sky and towards the museum. But he did, so Chizu didn't move. It was more because she knew she needed to hear what else he had to say than because he had physically blocked her. If she really wanted to leave, there were windows she could exit through. There was a time when she would have ignored his warning and just rushed in on her own. Chizu hadn't been that way since the first fight with Kaito, when she learned firsthand just how stupid it was to charge into a fight without at least telling somebody what she was up to. Even though on the inside, she was impatient and wanted nothing more than to go, she forced herself to remain calm, nodding once at Kinclex. "Who should I ask, then?" she said, letting the question hang in the air for a moment before she followed him towards Nickle's room. The house felt strange without anyone there. She half-expected Cerium to jump out of a closet somewhere and tackle her. She had never really been here by herself before, and couldn't help feeling like a bit of an intruder. But then again, she wasn't really by herself. She followed Kinclex into the room, glancing once at the pictures on the desk. A younger Nickle, shorter and smaller but still recognizable because of that goofy smile, Nickle and Cerium, Nickle, Celestial and Sugar...She frowned at the last picture. She hadn't seen that before. Had he gotten one of the Sylphs to take it while she wasn't looking? She picked it up, looking at it once before putting it down. "...Baka," she muttered, a small, slightly sad smile on her face. "You could have just asked..." You better hold on for me... Her eyes narrowed in determination, her fingers closing tightly around the picture as she put it down, letting go and looking around. Her fingers brushed against the scrap of blue cloth slightly. Nickle always wore that on his arm, although she had never asked him why. It reminded her of Kaede's blue ribbon, the one that she had worn on her wrist as a symbol for her promise to get stronger until recently, when she finally returned it to Kaede. I'll get you back. She turned towards Kinclex, watching as he took things out of the secret compartment in the wall. She had never seen it before, but she wasn't surprised that it was there. Secret closets and compartments were just par for the course in this crazy house. She frowned, realizing what Kinclex was setting out. A set of clothes, apparently her size--although when she did get him back, she was going to have to ask him how he knew what her size was--and Kaneryuu. Her eyes lingered on the last one. Kaneryuu... Nickle's sword. The sword that had fought against Kinclex in the conclusion of the Heartless invasion. The sword that had killed Rozanny. He wanted her to use it? She reached out towards the hilt of the sword tentatively. As her hand neared it, a thin stream of wind moved slowly from her fingertips, noticeable if Kinclex looked hard. It spiraled around the length of the sword, starting from Chizu's hand and moving down the hilt and blade. Chizu's fingers closed around Kaneryuu's hilt and, with the wind assisting her, she raised her arm, lifting the large sword. |

Kinclex watched as Chizu gathered the wind around the sword to lift it. He had to admit, he was impressed. He had seen such great potential in Chizu all those years ago when he had chosen her and Rozanny to assist him to his own ends. He never would have thought it would come to this though. She had grown and matured so much. In a way it made him extremely glad, but then slightly despondent at the same time , due to the fact that he had once steered her down the wrong path. Kinclex began to make for the door, he turned to face Chizu, “You asked me who you should call. Well truth be told Chizu, I’d imagine there are certain individuals who you work well with as well as those who would be very interested in knowing there was a particularly powerful force out there who could very well bring the Wo-Shing back if it got into his head. Lavender, Jameson, heck even Hiro would be interested in such a development I’d imagine. If not to assist you in saving Nickle, then to be putting a tight lid on such a malignant force of malice.” Kinclex’s hand began to slide the door closed, “I’ll leave you to change. I don’t think those are normal clothes. They might come in handy to you later on.” With that, Kinclex shut the door and moved to sit on the edge of the wooden walkway, looking at the bonsai tree in the center of the house He couldn’t shake the feeling in his gut that something terrible was about to unfold, something unexpected… |

Lavender, Jameson, Hiro...well, that was an interesting team. She could understand asking Lavender and Tsukasa-sensei, and sure, Jameson would want to know that there was some Wo Shing creep running around, but right now...was there even time? She tried to resist the urge to just ignore all warning and run off on her own. Mentally, she added Damon to that list of people. When it came to people she could trust to watch her back, Damon, Nickle and Kaede were all on the top spot of that list. And she was not risking Kaede. She glanced at the pile of clothes on the floor as Kinclex told her to change, waiting until he was outside and the door was closed. Chizu put Kaneryuu down, leaning the sword against the wall. The wind surrounding the sword disappeared as the contact broke, and she moved over to the pile. She picked up the shirt, holding it between her hands. Leave it to Nickle to give her an outfit. He was always trying to get her to wear stupid things. She clenched her fists against the sudden torrent of emotion that one thought invoked, dropping the dark colored shirt back on the pile. Her shoulders shook slightly, a small tremble going all the way down to her hands. He was...and if she failed, he would be... No. She couldn't allow herself to think like that. The moment she went to pieces, it would all be over. She inhaled and exhaled sharply, running a hand through her hair. If she focused on Nickle and where he was right now, she wouldn't be able to stay calm. The fear and the worry would drive her to panic. So instead, she focused on Illtist and what he had done, fueling that anger, igniting it and using the heat to temper her will the same way flames strengthened a sword as it was being forged. She added to that the cold edge of her fear, and took a deep breath, willing her mind to stay calm. She unbuttoned her jacket, letting it fall to the ground... A few minutes later, Chizu opened the door and stepped outside, Kaneryuu in hand. "This...feels a little strange," she said, turning towards Kinclex. ![]()

Kinclex turned around from where he was standing when he heard the door slide open and looked to see Chizu in some kind of soldier's uniform and holding Kaneryuu over her shoulder. "It is Nickle after all. But you know that he always adds something to anything he makes. I don't know what, but I'm sure it'll become apparant when the time comes." The outfit certainly looked light-weight and study, ideal for Chizu actually considering her close range combat style. While the blade might be harder for her to use than it would be for Nickle, the fact that the blade was a force to be reckoned with was more than enough reason for Chizu to have it with her in battle. Kinclex noted, however, that she had tied her hair up with a ribbon. She hadn't had that before. He moved closer to Chizu to speak to her, while secretly taking a peak over her shoulder, "From what I can understand, you've come a long way since I showed you my hypercceleration technique and can pretty much match mine. So let's hurry, I don't know what could be happening to Nickle even at this moment, all I can say is that he's still alive." Kinclex was going to follow Chizu. It was useless trying to go and gather help on his own, it was a miracle he'd managed to convince Chizu to believe him. Therefore it was best that he stayed with her at all time. Once the group was gathered, he could lead them to Nickle. Already he could feel that he was starting to move, but to where was yet to be seen. Kinclex made for the front door of the house, still remembering what he had seen while looking over Chizu's shoulder. Nickle's blue clothe wasn't on the bed. She'd taken it and put it in her hair... |

A stream of wind surrounded Chizu, supporting Kaneryuu and relieving some of the strain of having to carry it on her back from her. She knew a little bit about how to use swords, having had some practice from wielding a keyblade and from spending some time with her father, but Kaneryuu was definitely bigger and heavier than the keyblade she had used in the Heartless incident, and unlike her keyblade, it didn't disappear until she was ready to use it. "I guess I should be glad that it looks practical," she said when Kinclex said that Nickle usually built things into the things that he made. She checked her pockets, making sure that she had all of the odds and ends that she had collected over her past fights. She very seldom used them, but she never knew when they might be useful. When she was sure she had everything and none of it would fall out, she looked up, only to notice Kinclex staring at her hair. Her face reddened and she touched one gloved hand to her ponytail, quickly looking away. "Don't read too much into it," she said, turning and walking towards the door. "I'm used to tying my hair up before I fight." She stepped outside. In order to maintain the same amount of speed with all this extra weight, she would need to use the wind to help her out. And since force had this annoying habit of going both ways, she didn't want to wreck Nickle's house in the process. "Ready?" she asked, turning her head once to face the memory before she called the wind to herself, using it to launch her into a jump, her body seeming to disappear from view as she did. |

"Of course." Kinclex followed Chizu's lead, letting her take him to the next person that they needed for this endevour. He could feel it though, he wouldn't be able to fight in the battle. The form he had taken was too weak. The Wraiths that Nickle had fought against had been too fragile. The only reason they seemed so unstoppable was due to Illtist constantly repairing them inside his coat. Kinclex didn't have that kinda of luxury. While still more resilient than those things, he was far from what he once was. Still, if he didn't get hit, there wouldn't be a problem. If he did, there may have been some trouble for Nickle. He could sense it already, his body was being moved away from the Museum. No matter, he'd be able to track him again no problem as long as he had that mark on his arm. Clearly Illtist hadn't removed it yet. Time is off the essence |
