"Whuh... boooooring!" RRRIIIPPP!!! "HUAH! V, what are you doing?!" It's boring, and I don't like it. So I ripped it in half. He said nonchalantly, throwing the two halves of the manga he was reading earlier behind him. They shouldn't sell such shitty stuff to customers. And since when did you start to swear? Here they are at the Otaku Kingdom. Kind of a strange place for someone who's gonna be killed off sooner or later by a group of assassins to spend time at. But what the heck, there's still four days left. Kinda. He's allowed to spend his remaining time enjoying some good old, uh... old mangas from the past, right? Wrong. V hated them. And to show his hatred, he goes around ripping them to shreds without an inkling for Seth's money crisis. And as per the usual rule of any shops, you break it, you buy it. Or in this case, you shred it, you buy it. "Uuuuu... I can't afford this..." Pined Seth as he checked the price tag for the book V just ripped in half. |

A single voice broke through the silence of the room as the sound of a person's true passion erupted into the air. "TOOH!" Oliver flew through the air landing a clean blow with his foot on the boy's head before kicking off, flipping, and landing in a crouched position. "TORYAAA!!" He roared out dramatically! "Cheh! You bastard...." Oliver said standing. "Ripping manga is the worst.. Manga are.. the gateway to an infinite number of amazing stories! Even if it's not your tastes! SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT LOVE IT!" He said before eying the boy.... He paled.. "S...Se...Seth...?" He said stepping backwards. What the hell?! SINCE WHEN WAS SETH INTO THIS SORT OF THING!? GUH! He'd completely blown his cover with this one. Even that speech was kind of amazing. He wasn't sure how to recover this easily. "Ah.. I.. just arrived back from.. my trip with Jameson and..." He paled a bit. "I was just.. er.. Heh... FOLLOWING YOU!" He said dropping his shopping back and kicking it away. "Into this laaaaame~ manga store. Heh. so lame. Manga is so lame." "Lame." |

Oh, and I suppose it's not strange for Oliver to kick a person's face for ripping mangas in half but it's strange for Seth to be into mangas. Well. Not his problem. "Awh... O... Oliver...?" He staggered around, trying to push himself off the floor with difficulty. Boy, Oliver really packs quite a punch. Or in this case, kick. Luckily enough for him he was too disoriented by the hit that he didn't manage to catch a single word of Oliver's amazing speech. Not even V, apparently. Since the blow from earlier somehow messed his connection with Seth's brain. "Eh... I... I thought you're supposed to be gone for four days..." He asked, remembering the note on the table Jameson had left for Chetri. He never expected to find him the next day in a place where you could pretty much stumble into everyone quite easily. Let alone Oliver, known for his high-level coolness and never the one to be obsessed and passionate with mangas or animes like any typical otakus. Basing on this belief, he immediately took Oliver's word. But still, "What are you doing here anyway? I thought you're out of the city or something? And where's Jameson?" |

Oliver pulled Seth in close using amazing strength that defied all logic. He pressed his face into the boy's so close their noses were touching. His eyes were wild, pupils dilated. Sweat formed at his brow. "Don't ever talk about that trip again. It never happened. Don't even think about it. Don't ever. talk. about. it. again." He said in a voice strained with a mix of terror and rage both in amounts that were somewhat worrying. He stood, looking perfectly calm several steps away form Seth in what seemed like a split second later. "Eh, I left early." His eyes grew distant, glassy. "I ..." He tapered off into nothing as his jaw fell a bit slack, his distant gaze looking at nothing but seeing something not there. A phantom. "I left." He said before glancing to Seth. "So yeah anyhow." He said changing the subject. It was clear that whatever happened on that trip had created a deep trauma. "I was just in the store following you as I said earlier." Which was the perfectly honest truth as far as anyone knew. |

"Wuh... yeh... yeh... I get it... you just followed me... I get it..." He said, witting on the floor and clutching his heart, panting a bit too wildly for his own good. What else do you expect, he had just been assaulted by a very mad and and angry Oliver who for the moment looked like a mad bull. Or perhaps a demon. Or maybe a mad demon bull? Whatever happened while they were out anyway? ... Not gonna press on the matter. Getting back to his feet he brushed off the dusts from himself (despite the fact that this place is particularly clean) turning around back to Oliver, who for some strange reason had decided to actually follow him into this place he calls the Lame Haven. Feeling it would be unwise to keep someone in a place they hate, he said, "Well, don't let me hold you up then. I'm just gonna stay here for a while... eh?" Ohho. Plot device. Noticing something peculiar behind one of the shelves he just walked past, he bent down, picking up a bag loaded with shoujo mangas. What the hell? Who in their right mind would read this kind of thing? "Eh, it probably belongs to someone," And in his mind, it definitely does not belong to Oliver. As he's waaay too manly and cool to be reading this kind of stuff. "Hurm..." Feeling kinda curious, he took one of it out and flipped to the firs- BORING. RRRIIIIPP!!! "WHAOO!! V, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" It's boring. Besides, Oliver doesn't mind, right? These stuff are lame after all. |

Oliver reached out with his hand forming a laser of energy. "C.EM.BEAM" HE said with a a wild look in his eyes as he held the laser to Seth's head. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!!" He shouted out annoyed. "First off if it's a manga it has value! If you rip it then you're destroying that! And how many days does it take to ship more! What is someone misses a great series due to you! and consider the authors feelings! NOT ONLY THAT BUT CONSIDER HOW IT FEELS TO OWN A STORE! I WON'T LET YOU OFF THE HOOK, GO PAY FOR BOTH THE ISSUES YOU TORE YOU CRIMINAAAAL!!" -Ghk! He'd gotten carried away again. His passionate side was showing. "I say this as.. a.. law.. abiding.. detective! Hahah! Yes. Because I love the laws and this city! These are my only reasons! HAHAHAHAH." He eyed Seth with wide eyes. "Hah. hah. hah. HAH." |

What the hell? Not only Seth, but even V who usually doesn't care what Seth gets himself involved in was curious at his reaction. It's just some lame old picture book, what's there to be so uptight about? ... Somehow, both of them had the same mindset for once, the same suspicion. Slowly, he reached into the bag and pulled out yet another book, this time a plastic wrapped Limited Edition with everything a Limited Edition is supposed to come with. Almost cautiously, keeping his eyes on Oliver, he wrapped his fingers around the book, holding it with two hands. Gradually, he applied pressure to each hand, both going in the direction opposite to each other. He held it up in plain sight, so that even Oliver could see the book, the pages slowly tearing itself apart millimeters by millimeters... |

Oliver shot the laser ball into Seth's shoulder. "bastard!" He grabbed the back away and shuffled off to a different shelf where he searched frantically. "I know i saw one more.. I know I saw it...." He pulled out a book and smiled broadly. "Haaah~ With the author's special drawings and a Q & A about plot decisions as well as the 1 year later side story~" He said cheerfully. "It's beautiful..." He turned and glared at Seth. "Touch my bag again and you'll loose that arm." It seems like after all this time someone had finally caught him. Frankly he could only blame himself.... No wait! He blamed that asshole whom kept ripping books apart! "Seriously, you're paying for all these books you bastard! They cost money!" He said clenching his teeth. He loaded the program, readying for a fight If Seth wanted to brawl then Olly would give him a brawl.. J.Psy.Sword He formed two beam swords on both arms. |

"Somehow I expected that," V muttered as he glanced back and forth between the scorching black spot on the floor behind him and the dual translucent sword in Oliver's hand. Looks like his suspicion is correct. Well, nothing to get all worked up about. Rather, "Pft... Ahahahah!!" Eeeyah. What else is there to do besides to laugh at his rediculousness? Who would have thought that the cool and unwavering Oliver is actually an otaku? It's a cute and funny quirk in its own way. Eh... wait, is that right? But yeah, he understands his desire to keep it a secret. He mimed pulling a zipper across his lips, wiping a bit of tear from his eyes and said, "Oliver never went to Otaku Kingdom," Standing up, he asked. "Anyway, I never thought you'd be the type who likes these sort of stuff," |

"..... It's not something I'm proud of.." Oliver said as he picked up the ton manga and shoved them into Seth's hands with a sigh. If only Seth knew the sheer LENGTHS he'd gone through to keep this a secret for this long. No one was privy to this secret detail of his life. Not even Jameson. Oliver had gone through almost neurotic lengths to keep people off his trail. Because he hated being laughed at. He exhaled slowly. "I'm serious though. You're paying for those." He said pointing to the torn books. "It's your responsibility." Oliver wasn't just gonna let this kid go around doing whatever he wanted. Ripping up books he didn't own was beyond insane. More importantly a collectors edition reprint of the second year run! What was he an id-..er.. Keep it under control. He exhaled slowly and tried to keep his calm. "Everyone needs something they enjoy.. For me it's.." He reached into his bag revealing several books. "Old Ishinomori stuff or.. somewhat tragic stories." He said planting his hand on his side with a frown looking away. Somehow.. this could be a good thing? He'd always wanted to have someone to talk to about this sort of stuff. "Anyhow why are YOU here?" |

"Eh, I'm just looking around for some books, you know, get my mind off from some things..." He said, taking one of the book from the shelf next to him, flipping over to some random page. A shounen manga, good versus evil, great perseverance of the main character, not giving up, blablabla, all that typical stuff that makes up a shounen manga. It's kinda strange, he thought, as he gazed at the oversized panel that takes up two pages. The main character had just dealt the final blow to the last villain. He stood up, unwavering, again and again even after being pummeled hard repeatedly by the villain. There's just one of him, and a thousand of them. And he broke through all odds, standing at the summit of victory with a big grin on his face. But that's in the comic book world. The author can bend the story however he wants to make sure the main character wins. But not them. They're not some omnipotent being that can rewrite destiny any way they want. In a few days time they're gonna be up against some super-powered militarymen and there's a very high possibility that they might as well wind up dead. He glanced up to Oliver with a slightly downcast look. It's not that he's scared or anything. More like, he's worried. What happens if they lose? |

"You know you don't have to go.." Oliver said looking down and away from him with a somber expression. "you more than any of us have no reason to.. You're so normal and you could lead a normal life if only you cut ties with us.." He said staring ahead with a small frown. He'd drug Seth into his own business. Even if Seth agreed to be part of it Oliver couldn't understand WHY. This mission was crazy. They could all really die. With Fuu it even made more sense. She had no common senses and was somewhat daft! Or rather she was so breezy she'd just whichever way. But Seth was smart enough to be scared, so why risk it? It was a stupid decision. A stupid decision desperately wanted him to make. Such was the way it worked when he was being selfish. Even if it made no sense, even if it was reckless, even if it meant putting him in danger. Even so Oliver needed him. This was the painful reality of the situation they were in. But that didn't stop him from warning the boy of the dangers of this choice once again. |

Normal life? Did he just say normal life? Somewhere deep inside him, not V, but Seth, said scathingly, You're telling me to lead a normal life? Just how exactly is he normal? He had a pretty normal life two years ago, until some power of the unknown decided that he should be the chosen one to host the powerful mutant super-virus in his body. Ever since he knew about the existence of the virus a few months ago, he's been wary about his premature death, always feeling apprehensive about himself dropping dead any possible second. He came to this city in hopes of ridding himself of the killer microorganism in him, but what has he achieved? NOTHING! NOW TELL ME JUST HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO LEAD A NORMAL LIFE?! It never got through his mouth though. Mere moments after Oliver asked him that, the dejected face from earlier immediately changed to the usual smile he always wear in front of everyone, the bitter feeling from inside never managed to escape into the open. "I know I don't have to. But I'm not the sort of person to sever ties with anyone just because it's not convenient for me," That's what he said. Frankly there's a whole lot more to it than that. But he's not telling. But he could say this. If he never did manage to find a way to separate V from himself, well... yeah. ... |

"Well it's a little more than an inconvenience.. But it's not like i'm going to argue with you over it." Oliver said as he placed the book back on the shelf. It seemed like there wasn't much of interest for him left to buy today. As such he turned and picked up his bag before reaching out quickly and grabbing the boy by the collar dragging him up to the front with a grunt of frustration. He slammed down the two torn manga and pointed to him. "This guy was destroying your manga. Please ring him up for the damaged products.." He said annoyed. He folded his arms leaning back on the counter. "And you can't tell anyone about this!" He said firmly to Seth. "Or else I'll tell about all your dirty secrets! I'll find them and tell them! Like with Robyn and so forth!" He said with a dark aura. "I'll tail you and find them then reveal them all!" Her was now descending into the realm of insanity. However he definitely couldn't allow Jameson or the others to learn about this hobby.. The mocking would never end.. |

"Wuh... what did I...?" Even is he wanted to deny it, he really can't. Telling him that the real culprit was some super-virus controlling him was out of the question. Because it seemed like such a convenient lie at the moment, even if it's not. And while he's not sure what kind of 'dark secret' Oliver was referring to, he couldn't help but feel slightly apprehensive about it. Slightly annoyed at just how much trouble V could get him in in one day, he turned around to the guy manning the counter. Figuring that he should just handle this like he always do, he said, "Uh... do you take part-timers?" What? |
