It was noon over the athletics field on a saturday, meaning that Deus was free of his obligations to school. Which was good considering on this particular day he wasn't going anywhere. For you see, Deus was sick. To recap: The previous night he'd been asleep in the cold due to the fact he was presently homeless. A person had stepped on his hand and caused him to jerk awake and stumble into the park's fountain. After he was drug over town in wet, cold, clothes he tried to convince them to let him stay without telling them he was homeless. Naturally they declined and he went to this place and slept. However the time he'd spent soaking wet had given him a small cold. And sleeping outside hadn't helped matters much.. "Ughhh..." Deus groaned with a half-closed expression. His mouth hanging half-open, his eyes drooped half-closed, and his face glowing with the brilliance of a man with a fever. His typically pale skin was somehow even MORE pale which is to say completely devoid of color. He looked like death turned over, well.. he WAS death so that didn't make much sense? He looked like himself turned over... What? These must be the thoughts of a mind in the cruel grip of a fever. Either way Deus was left huddled into his blanket trying to keep warm in the snow covered athletics field. Too tired to even try to find some place warm. "I'm going... to die here.." He said being melodramatic. Edited by Cypriss, Jan 8 2011, 11:38 PM.

Sikura walked through the school grounds, armed with a bag containing her sketchbook and drawing supplies. It was snowing, and this icy-eyed girl found it an ideal opportunity to practice drawing landscapes. If only she could find a decent field or something with pristine snow. Well... this is a big campus, maybe one of the sport fields wouldn't have been played on yet. As she arrived on the scene, she was disappointed by footprints all through the snow. Technically she could just draw what she had been hoping to see, but she wasn't really good without a reference. Her icy-blue orbs surveyed the ruined snow before her when she suddenly noticed a boy huddled in the field with a blanket. Sikura hesitated a moment, but she somewhat doubted that someone huddled in the snow like that would be a predator. As she neared, she heard the boy mutter something but couldn't hear him. "A... Are you alright?" She asked softly as she reached the boy, pulling down her scarf a little bit. |

"i'm obviously not.." Deus said without really turning to look at the person whom spoke. He really hated dumb-asses whom asked stupid questions. Either way he was sure if he allowed this person they'd get him into a troublesome situation.. He exhaled slowly, an uneven strained breath. He really felt at his lowest. Perhaps he'd never been this sick in his entire life. He'd always been surrounded by wealth so of course he'd always had doctors for this.. Man... this really was the worst. He turned glancing to the girl before his eyes shot wide open. "-GHK!" He spat out in pure shock. His crystal blue eyes locked on her own pair of bright blue eyes. However it wasn't the eyes that had stunned him. It was those six objects sticking out. His pupils slowly shrunk until his expression was one of a pure blank expression before he fell backwards into the dirt. "I'm hallucinating.." He said, which was the only rational explanation for what he was seeing. He shot back to his feet to run before getting suddenly dizzy due to his nausea. He staggered around a bit before collapsing back to a sitting position, holding his head. "I'm seriously seeing things..." He said trying to make sense of this nonsense right in front of him. |

Sikura blinked and slightly lowered her head at the boy's short response. For all she knew he could've been doing any number of things and be more than fine. And although he did say he wasn't alright, his attitude seemed to scream that he didn't want any help. She took a step back, waiting for a few moments debating on whether she should just leave him alone or not when he turned around. "Iya!" Sikura visibly jumped moving back at least three steps, startled by the boy's own shock. As their eyes locked, she was frozen, staring back at him with an expression very akin to 'deer in headlights' save it was less of a blank startlement and more a sharp fear. As the boy fell back in the dirt, Sikura's expression slowly started to calm down. She tilted her head when the boy stated that he was hallucinating before leaping to his feet, causing sikura to jump once more. She stared as the boy fell back into sitting on the ground stating again to himself that he was seeing things. "I.. I'm quite real..." she said almost sound unsure of herself, as she hesitantly took a few steps towards him offering her hand to help him to his feet. "and... and maybe you should... probably get somewhere warm?" She said, adding a questionlike intonation with the last word, swallowing nervously and hoping he didn't make any more sudden movements. |

".... This school is seriously messed up." Deus said eying her with an even expression. A girl with horns. A girl. with horns. His face was already so pale that if he drained of color now he'd turn into a translucent spirit but even so he seemed to be inventing new shades of pale from the shock at this revelation. She was a real person. And she had real horns on her head. This was going to be one of those days, wasn't it? He didn't even consider apologizing. Despite the fact that the horns were probably a complex of hers and that mocking from it was likely something she had dealt with a lot in his life not even once did he consider apologizing for his reaction. He eyed her with the same bland expression as ever. What was the point? Apologies didn't change anything. It's not like they actually made the pain inflicted from cruel actions go away. All they did was express a guilty conscience. Deus didn't HAVE that though, so it'd just be empty words. Deus was many things but he wasn't a liar. Well.. he supposed lately he was. Pretending to still be a wealthy heir even with all that had happened. Maybe he had become a liar too, without noticing? This was neither here no there. He stood and dusted off, not taking her hand purposefully as he did so. As if, he was already aware of that tactic. "Tch... Trying to get me to hold your hand or something?" He said tucking his hands into his back pockets, the corner of his mouth turned up into a sneering grin. "Girls sure can be sly.." He said to himself in that cocky tone that he used so often when dealing with others. |

Sikura merely stared back at the boy waiting for him to grab her hand or address her. However when he stood under his own power she leaned back a little. "What?" she uttered softly, blinking her eyebrows came together in an almost bewildered expression in response to his question and tone. The icy-eyed girl retracted and glanced down at her somewhat bandaged hand then back to the boy dropping it to her side. Why would she want him to hold her hand? She didn't even know his name, though at this moment she wasn't particularly inclined to ask. The horned girl's expression fell into a soft frown at his second comment and accompanying sneer. "I only thought you required assistance." She muttered softly, adjusting her bag over her shoulder looking towards the campus buildings. A normal person probably would've left him alone, retorting with some snarky comment but sikura's protective instincts merely told her that she should at the very least see him indoors as obviously, he wasn't well. Slowly she started to take a few steps towards one of the nearby buildings, pausing and waiting for him to come along. |

"It's an off day of school.. as if we'd be allowed to wander around inside. It's probably locked." He said in an idle tone, hiding a smirk from her as she seemed to be offended by his comment. That was good. If she'd blushed and gotten all girly over it he would have been annoyed. It was better when the people he dealt with could stand up for themselves. Or at the very least realized when he was making fun of them. Girls whom blushed over every little thing and acted like all they though about was dating were incredibly annoying. Even the most interesting girl was already bothersome, so the especially annoying ones were almost beyond his ability to tolerate. He sighed, however the sigh turned into a cough forcing him to lean back against the bleachers holding his head. He seriously didn't feel so hot. But where could they go to get indoors for a while? More importantly he wanted to lay down. No matter how he looked at it this situation wasn't any good. "Why not just go on and mind your own business. You've no obligation to tend to me. I'm not someone whom needs pity." He said in an even tone. In truth he just didn't see how she could be of any help. For him it might be best to just sleep out here.. If he just endured it maybe he'd get better on his own. |

Sikura paused and lowered her head a moment consenting that he was most likely correct but that didn't change the fact that he needed to warm up. To be perfectly honest she didn't know this city practically at all so her knowledge of where to go was minimal at best. "Why not just go on and mind your own business. You've no obligation to tend to me. I'm not someone whom needs pity." Sikura turned glancing at the boy again, "... sheep dog. It is not pity, just care for the well being of a fellow person." As she stated this there was almost confidence in her voice as she turned fully towards him. If she had not come across him by coincidence, sick and in the snow, she wouldn't have known the difference or cared for that matter. But because she was there, and because she did see him, she was at least going to deliver him to where he needed to be. "Where is the hospital?" She asked plainly, glancing towards the city. |

"..... I'm a sheep dog...?" He said, apparently willing to ignore everything else she said. He really didn't understand that phrase. Maybe she was the sheep dog? She had to protect him from wolves? He was in danger? Deus was a sheep dog? Was it his face...? Huh? What? Maybe this fever is really bad after all. Deus sighed as he rose to his feet. "Tch.. A hospital? Are you crazy? They'll give me a shot and boot me out the door. I'd rather take an aspirin and lay down. But the problem is i'm temporarily home-" Ooops. Stop right there! Man, this foggy headed nausea was making it hard to keep his judgement. He nearly screwed the pooch and told the one secret he most wanted to hide. "My house is getting sprayed for bugs on a surprise visit from the exterminator.. and my uncle is away on business so I couldn't get access to our funds to get an apartment. so i was trying to stay at a friends but got evicted for various reasons... These circumstances left me without a place to go. Due to this I got sick." It was an elaborate lie but for now it would have to do. He cupped his hand coughing into it before leaning back suddenly as he got dizzy once again. "Guh... I don't know what options I have." He said before flopping backwards on the bleachers. "I guess I'll just die here in a tragic moment." He said, once more showing his melodramatic side. This girl really had no way to help either it seemed. He sure was having a string of crappy luck. |

The blue-eyed girl shook her head when he asked if she meant that he was a sheep dog. She hesitated a moment after that deciding that he probably would not react kindly to being called a sheep... She blinked and took a step back when he stood again saying how a hospital wouldn't help him at all and he'd rather just take care of himself but that due to quite a few strange circumstances he was without a place to stay. She glanced off towards the town again, placing a curled hand over her mouth in thought as the boy fell back onto the bleachers. "I guess I'll just die here in a tragic moment." Sikura looked back at the boy with a slight frown, dropping her hand from her face. "What about a hotel?" She asked tilting her head. She was sure she could fandangle the funds to get him some sort of shelter for a decent amount of time. |

Deus couldn't really help himself. When he heard what she said he felt the strong desire to tease her. No, it was more than a desire. It was more like he was physically compelled to tease others. He exhaled a long breath which turned to a cloud of fog in front of him as he locked eyes on her before turning his eyes away. "Oh my.. Such a bold statement." He said in a low voice as he pushed his fingers back into his hair brushing it back from his eyes. "We've only just met and she's trying to get me into a hotel room.. Using my sickness as a ploy.. girls sure are sly.." He said smirking to himself as he looked away from her. However after a moment he cracked, breaking into a dry laugh. "Pfft, what an idiot! She really has no common sense!" He said clutching his sides as he was nearly brought to tears by how much of an idiot this person was. He forced himself to halt before shrugging. "Well even if I wanted too money is the issue here." He rose back up and stood unsteadily. "Try not to worry so much about strangers. You'll die young. A dog can survive the winter on it's own you know. Because deep down a dog is still a wolf, right?" He said planting his hands deep into his pockets as he walked down on the side of the field. He'd just have to figure something out.. No good would come of letting it become worse. |

Sikura blinked when the boy's ice blue eyes met her own for just a moment before he turned away muttering about it being a bold statement. Which honestly just confused the poor dragon. That is until he continued. Twitch! 'What was that?' Sikura blinked, her eyebrows coming together in a surprised and confused expression, until the boy laughed and started talking about her as though she weren't there... The black-haired girl brushed her hair back, though it simply fell back into place as he mentioned that it was money that was the issue before telling her not to worry since a dog was still a wolf. '... but you're the sheep...?' Sikura shook her head "If... if money is the only obstical..." She said, following but keeping the same amount of distance between them, "I see no reason for you not to find a temporary living place." She wouldn't say hotel again, since he would probably comment once more, but that is what she essentially meant. |

"...hah..? I already explained I have no cash. How does one get temporary housing without cash? You're not making much sense." He said planting his hands in his sides and looking at her with a befuddled sidelong glance. He really was talking in circles here. More importantly now she was following him? Had he picked up a clinger-on. "Well go on and explain. I'm sure you have some idea or reason for saying that." It seemed he was already tired of trying to convince her to go away. In reality he was just far too lazy to keep up that much effort on anything for terribly long. Even if that thing was getting rid of people that were pestering him. Even if they were pestering for his own good. He turned walking backwards and eying her. She'd ALMOST be cute if it weren't for the horns. But instead she looked kind of scary. Like a demon from a legend or a monster in an RPG. Not even one or two horns but several. It was pretty distracting to look at. |
