Clad in comfortable shoes and a peach colored summer-dress that was inappropriate to winter, Fuu Wakamurasaki grinned and linked arms with a prim and proper young lass beside her. The shopping bags labeled with designer brands like Aya Sazuki and Chiaki in each hand rustled slightly as she gave the graceful Selene a wriggly elbow-cuddle, giggling like the giddy school-girl she was.

"You didn't have to do this, ya know?" Fuu spoke with a sweat drop sitting on her forehead. "I mean, I do have a card to max out, eheh!"

Amongst the crowd of pearl faced, high-end fashionistas in Hyakuji, the dark-skinned, flower adored, simple looking Fuu really stood out. And not in the good way. But if it were not for Selene and all her "high-SO" air that Fuu was breathing in, the country chick probably would have never seen this side of Majikku Mall.

It was certainly a massive complex.

Today, this wing of the center had a weekend event to celebrate a famous designer's fur lined boots featuring a diamond adorned laces... Fliers were being handed out, and banners were up everywhere. Despite how ridiculous and impractical they appeared, Fuu had fallen in love with what she had been calling the "sparkly wolf shoes."
Tearing away from the last banner boasting about the limited edition, 'only-one-ever-made' new arrival, the sophomore turned to Selene,

"And... I didn't mean it like that, ya..." She started with a slight stutter, recalling what happened at Yuki dorm the night prior. "When I said that your butt was too big for that bikini bottom I meant that it would not have no hope of squeezing in no matter.. how.. hard.. you... try.. to.. Ya know! Japanese people just aren't built the same as Europeans don't you think so Forozuttofaya-san? Eheh..."

"Do you have to remind me, Fuu-chan?" Selene commented as she looked at the country lass with a feigned sad face as she brought up that incident back at the dorms when the two girls were trying on swimsuits in anticipation of summer and Fuu had oh so tactlessly pointed out that the corporate heiress' butt was too large when she attempted to try on a swimsuit whose design really pleased her, but found it way too tight. "Well, it's water under the bridge now," Selene huffed. In contrast to Fuu's peach-colored summer dress, the English heiress was dressed more appropriately for the weather - a tan-colored double-breasted winter coat with shiny brass buttons, and a cream-colored scarf with fuzzy pom-poms at the ends over a tartan-patterned skirt in rustic shades of brown that ends a few inches above her knees and a smart white long-sleeved blouse underneath a brown dress vest. A pair of sleek, brass-buckled black leather winter boots and smooth black thigh highs completes her outfit.

"I guess I'll just have to see if there's a brandname designer out there who can tailor me that swimsuit design for my size," the corporate heiress continued, now looking at Fuu with a smile. Of course that sad face was a fake - why else would she have helped the village girl pay for some of the designer label clothes she'd bought. The corporate heiress whistled as they entered the mall atrium, the space being used as an exhibition area for various top-branded designers for their latest winter catalog, but the centerpiece of it all was a pair of fur-lined boots with diamond-adorned laces. "Fuu-chan... why just look at that... top-quality leather from Spanish bull hide, meticulously raised under premium conditions, as well as top-graded ermine fur for the lining, and to say nothing of the 12-carat diamond adornments. Now that's a pair of boots fit for a queen."

"Yeah~! I like how I have to look away every now and then, because they sparkle so hard at my eyes, eheh!" Fuu's appreciation for couture was certainly not on par with Selene's.
They were pretty up close and personal with the flashy boots, and even though it was behind some thin glass, Fuu could swear she could feel how soft that fur was just by looking at it. Then, after checking the 5 digit price tag she turned to Selene with a doltish look on her simple face, "Do you think that rich designer could donate some money to our povo-school?"

As they walked passed the main display of the exhibition, the pair came across something which appeared to be a cosmetic workshop featuring shimmering and metallic makeup, labeled "Diamond edition" in commemoration for the boots. The mini MC with her false-eyelashes and hot pants was announcing "Free make-up lessons," and a prize for the "best face." Although they were taking a short break at the moment.

Fuu appeared mildly interested for about a second, but was distracted by something else....

"Look!! Over there.... So many of them!!" The dark-skinned girl, still linked at the elbows to Selene, faced a smaller part of the mall away from the atrium. "Look at all those cos-players, I wonder what is going on there, ya?"

.... Or what they were doing in this part of the mall...

"Yeah~! I like how I have to look away every now and then, because they sparkle so hard at my eyes, eheh!" Fuu commented, eliciting a slight giggle from Selene. While it was certainly a beautiful and well-made pair of winter boots, it was a bit too flashy for the corporate heiress taste, who by far preferred relatively simple yet presentable outfits. A pair of boots such as these wouldn't match any of her outfits. "Do you think that rich designer could donate some money to our povo-school?" The country lass asked ever so innocently, while Selene stole a glance of the designer of the star of the show, currently surrounded by a gaggle of journalists and photographers, some of whom the English heiress recognized as being from some internationally-renowned fashion magazines.

"You know, Fuu-chan... there's a possibility," Selene replied thoughtfully, gazing at the scene for a moment. "I heard my brother Thomas knows that guy," the corporate heiress continued as the interview session carried on, patting Fuu on the shoulder as they passed the main exhibition area and came to a cosmetics workshop, promoting a free makeup lesson and "best face award", apparently also part of the itinerary in conjunction with the winter fashion show. "I say, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Selene smiled as she looked at the fashion workshop, then at Fuu. Best face award? Needless to say, the corporate heiress had her sights set on that one.

"Look!! Over there.... So many of them!!" Fuu quipped excitedly, Selene turning to look in the direction that caught the tanned village girl's attention as she felt a tugging at the elbow. "Look at all those cos-players, I wonder what is going on there, ya?" Cosplayers? Selene raised an eyebrow as she stole a glance in the direction of a group of cosplayers - they were indeed cosplayers, and while the corporate heiress was no cosplayer herself, she'd seen enough of them to feel that a group of American comic character cosplays was rather out of place in Japan, as she caught sight of the unmistakable red and blue caped outfit of Superman. Perhaps, they were a bunch of the more elusive American pop culture otakus.

"That's weird..." Selene commented as she reached into her purse and retrieved the Majikku Mall brochure and went through the list of hosted events for the month. And as far as the list went, there was no cosplay-related event being organized by the Otaku Kingdom. But then again, aren't the Japanese known for eccentric behavior anyway? Selene paid them no heed, but instead turned her attention back to Fuu, rolling back the sleeve of her jacket to reveal a slender silver wristwatch and glanced at the time, which was just right for a spot of tea. "Never mind those guys, Fuu-chan... how does heading for some tea and dessert sound to you?" Selene suggested.

"Uhuh.. Weird... ya...." Well there goes telling HER what Fuu and the girls sometimes got up to on a Sunday afternoon. Although Selene's comment was mostly directed towards the American-comic book dressed otakus, (who Fuu didn't recognize as cos-players so much as dorky fashionistas,) she found herself trying to sneak glances at the crowd, hopefully without Selene noticing.
She needed to be in there, and out in less than a moment. Just like a pick-pocket! Only instead of stealing money, Fuu wanted to steal the light bouncing off their bodies.
....As such, she may have come off as some kind of perve.

"It sounds.... pretty British, eheh!" She noticed, nudging her pommy friend. "Sure, I can go for some, ya!" Fuu finally agreed excitedly, clapping her hands and causing her bags to swing about her wrists, "But I think we might have to skip the sweets though. 'Best face' award is back on in about half and hour they said, ya."
By now, Fuu had taken Selene's free hand and was waiting for her to lead the way.

Meanwhile she would walk through the mall like a brainwashed specimen, gazing dreamily at all the expensive clothes in the store windows.

"It sounds.... pretty British, eheh!" Fuu responded energetically at Selene's suggestion. Truth be told, it wasn't entirely a British thing - Europeans have a habit of eating several smaller meals during the day instead of three square meals. It could be a cultural thing, but from the corporate heiress' perspective it does help in making one feel satiated for the whole day, but not bloated like how one might feel after having a full meal - it certainly sounded less stressful on the digestive system, and discourages snacking in-between meals which is oh so often a cause of gaining unnecessary calories that help one put on weight. "But I think we might have to skip the sweets though. 'Best face' award is back on in about half and hour they said, ya," the country lass continued as she took hold of Selene's free hand.

"Well, just tea it is then," Selene nodded and chuckled slightly as she cocked her head slightly, a gesture for Fuu to follow. "Because truth be told, I wouldn't want to miss the Best Face Awards too!" Along the way, Fuu would gaze dreamily at the store windows at the expensive clothes on display.

"I say, you'd look great in one of those, Fuu-chan," Selene commented as she glanced at a ballgown at a store display window of a boutique that specializes in formal wear. It was a red shoulderless dress that reached down to the ankles of the wearer, and of particular note to Selene was how the skirt portion of the dress past the snug bodice sported several ruffled layers with frilly trims that gave it the appearance of flower petals, and the dress itself had a nice gradient tone, being a rosy red at the torso, and slowly transforming into a cute pink as one goes downwards, ending with a pure white at the ends near the ankles. The entire outfit comes complete with a pair of Cinderella-like see-through slippers, matching elbow length opera gloves and a silver tiara inlaid with highly-polished and sparkly clear and rose quartz crystals.

Haien struggled through the crowd of people in strange costumes clutching his purchases to his chest. He had also gotten a wig somewhere, and now looked the part of the girl he was pretending to be. It was brilliant, if somewhat strange. But still, anyone trying to catch him would be searching for a male with cat ears and a cat tail. And the new wig covered up the jewel in his forehead, which was even better. He sighed, self-consciously fixing his skirt. On the plus side....he did feel rather pretty...

Haien shook his head, and quickly became absorbed in his thoughts. He had used a decent portion of his funds to purchase these sets of human clothes...mostly female clothes at that... But he could still afford food and other necessities. He smiled, reaching up to his neck, where the triple moon of his Goddess hung around his neck. The Goddess was with him. After all, She had blessed his quest. Unfortunately, Haien was so absorbed in his thoughts that he crashed right into a person that he had met earlier. Lady Goddess, please let her not recognize me....

Before she could lay eyes upon the perfect gown for her, Fuu felt Selene being yanked away from her grasp.
"Ohmagourd, nooo!" She shrieked, pulling back on the brittish girl with excess force! Although she was only more forceful than nessessary because she thought another person was literally trying to steal her away. You don't have to work for a detective agency to see a lot of sick stuff go on in this city.

Anyway, since nobody was actually tugging on the other end of Fuu's clutches, her eyes widened with surprise to find Selene reeling back towards her like an eslastic band.
"eiii!" She squealed nervously, clamping her eyes shut and losing her grip on some shopping bags.

These actions all played out in a matter of a split second, so it would take more than fast reflexes or a miracle to fight fate from colliding those two girl's foreheads together. But if their aimless wanderer was like any other careless mall-rat, they probably would have turned their backs far enough away from the pushee's to avoid witnessing the carnage.

Before Fuu could give her comments on what she felt about the gown on display, someone walked right into Selene! "Cor blimey!" The corporate heiress stumbled as the bump knocked her off-balance, dropping her shopping bags in the process.

"Ohmagourd, nooo!" The corporate heiress could hear Fuu scream above the din of the crowd.

And beyond her expectations, Selene would feel a yank on her arm, no doubt courtesy of Fuu. Not to help the English heiress regain her footing, no. The way the village girl was tugging at Selene it was as if she was fighting a tug-of-war with someone over the redhead Briton - except that no one was pulling in the opposite direction, which would mean the resulting tug would send her crashing right into Fuu.

"Ow!" Selene managed to cry out as her forehead met Fuu's rather violently, the impact causing her to reel backwards before landing on her back. The corporate heiress groaned as she found herself staring up at the ceiling, her vision momentarily obscured, causing the lights on the ceiling to appear like stars to her. "So pretty..." Selene murmured, commenting on the 'stars' that dotted her vision.

Haien quickly gathered up his scattered purchases and shoved them back into his bag. It would be terribly rude and improper to turn run off... "Are you both alright?" Haien asked in his best female voice. He sat up, and half-crawled over to the two girls. "I'm terribly sorry...I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

Haien quickly adjusted his wig, straightened his skirt, and fixed the zipper on his hoodie. He offered up a second prayer to the patron goddess of the Fayne, asking Her to prevent the Frostfire girl from recognizing him.

The impact was particularily painful for Fuu as it ended up being Selene's forehead mostly connecting with her front set of teeth behind the soft tissue of her lips, when Fuu had attempted to move out of the way. Considering the shortness of this dress, it was a blessing that Fuu hadn't fallen over backwards like Selene had. But upon notiicing her friend had almost cracked her head open on the marble floor, Fuu immediately bent down at the waist and crowded over her, blocking her veiw of the stars.

..... And FLASHED just about everyone enjoying a bubble-tea at the kiosk behind her.

"Se-chan!" She cried urgently, ignoring how familiar she was addressing her classmate. "Are you okay?!--what?-- me? Noooo, YOU'RE prettier, ehehekkk-- Stay back!" She barked rudely towards the girl crawling over to them at first before nervously stammering "What do you want fwom us, ya..?"

Fuu looked surprised. FWOM? She pressed two fingers to her swollen lip and... Well, she looked like she was about to cry.

"ai...ahi... Aii...." She was now fanning herself with a hands and holding back tears.

"Se-chan!" Selene heard Fuu call out as the village girl's face loomed into view, blocking out the 'stars' that filled the corporate heiress' field of vision as she bent down over her. "Are you okay?!--what?-- me? Noooo, YOU'RE prettier, ehehekkk-- Stay back!"

"The stars may be pretty, but you're prettier, Fuu-chan..." the English heiress continued, a dazed smile crossing her face.

"Are you both alright?" Selene heard another girl's voice say, and the Briton immediately snapped back to reality, although her head was still hurting. "I'm terribly sorry...I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

Selene groaned again as she tried to pick herself up, rubbing her forehead gingerly as she caught sight of Fuu confronting another girl that was approaching them. "What do you want fwom us, ya..?" Fuu stammered nervously as Selene got up to her feet, and being the prim and proper girl she is, with a hand holding onto her skirt to prevent it from riding up.

"Fuu-chan, are you alright?" Selene asked as she rested a hand on Fuu's shoulder, trying to assess the damage done and conveniently ignoring the crowd of onlookers and the reddening patch on her own forehead, well not everything... she did pay attention to the girl who had apparently bumped into her. "No harm no foul, but thanks anyway for your concern," the corporate heiress forced a smile through the pain in her head as she looked at the disguised Haien, before turning her attention back to Fuu-chan.

"Fuu-chan, please let me take a look," Selene said as she took her hand off Fuu's shoulder and cocked her head, trying to get a glance of whether the village girl sustained any injuries.

A sneering man walked over towards the three people involved in the miniature crash, oogling what looked like three girls, at least two of which were in skirts. He reached out towards one, a red haired, girl, and the black haired "girl" slapped his hand out of the way with one hand, sketching an arcane rune in the air in front of "herself."

"Hands to yourself, Neanderthal." Haien said in his girl voice, half finished with his rune. "Anyways, aren't you a bit....old for us?" Haien put his second hand on his hip and raised one eyebrow. His first hand continued sketching the rune.

As Selene insisted on taking a look, Fuu nodded and took her hand off her mouth. She had visibly calmed down by now, but her shoulders still shook every now and then from a sob or two. Selene would see there was no blood, which was a good thing, but her top lip had puffed up noticably in a violent swell of red.

It was pretty bad...

"is it.. Is it bad?" She stammered, eyes widening as she noticed the redness of Selene's forehead. "Se-chan! You--"

She was cut off by the black haired girl who had smacked a stranger's hand away from Selene.

"eh?! He's not too old?" Fuu said to the girl tracing patterns in the air, pressing her dress down before patting Selene's plaid skirt straight as well. "Atleast not for me~ eheh!"
If he was one of the cosplayers from earlier, Fuu couldn't tell, on account of being unfamiliar with american comics.

The country lass complied meekly with a nod as she took her hand off her mouth to allow Selene to check out her injury. At this point Fuu appeared to have regained much composure, even though her shoulders still quaked slightly as she emitted a sob or two. Selene knitted her brows as a frown crossed her face, clearly worried over Fuu's injury. She wasn't bleeding, which meant she didn't get any cuts on her lips - which was a good thing, since those ulcers can be really painful and make eating and drinking an irritable experience. However, her upper lip was visibly swollen, and turned red like an overripe plum.

"is it.. Is it bad?" Fuu asked.

"I say, it's not as bad as it looked," The corporate heiress commented shakily as she reached into her coat pocket and passed a compact hand mirror in the form of an openable disc-shaped device to her friend to check out her lips. Nothing too bad, she reckoned - with regular massaging with some healing balm, the swelling and redness should subside within a few days - it's essentially a bruise, which she too also sustained; and while Fuu took one to the lip, Selene suffered one on the forehead, which Fuu quickly noticed.

"Se-chan! You--" Unbeknown to the two girls however, one of the onlookers apparently took a more "personal" interest in the entire scene, trying to get a hand on Selene, when the 'girl' who'd bumped into the corporate heiress earlier intervened to slap the man's hand away.

"Hands to yourself, Neanderthal." The black-haired girl interjected, as her other hand was tracing patterns in the air. "Anyways, aren't you a bit....old for us?" At this point Selene was more interested however, in the patterns the other girl was tracing in the air - she was aware that Fuu said something about the man being not too old for herself, but the movements of the girl's hand looked familiar - was it a rune? Was this girl a magus too?

"Unless your intention is to help, good sir," Selene commented as she straightened her coat after Fuu was done patting her skirt straight, giving him a stern emerald-eyed gaze. "May I suggest that you keep your hands to yourself," she continued in a polite but forceful tone - showing her displeasure at a stranger attempting to cop a feel, but maintaining a dignified and gracious air by keeping the tone of her voice and her choice of words civil, at least for now.
