"Ru, you can't buy someone like that," Seth commented, placing a hand on 'her' head and ruffling her long 'girly' hair. Are you really sure she's in high school? Well, not that it mattered anyway. "Nice to meet you Haien," He said, bowing down slightly and smiling at the terrified catboy. He's not sure if the cat boy was overreacting or what, but one thing's for sure. ...what is it? That... he goes to school? Oh, suuuuuure, like that isn't bleeding obvious!!! Well, whatever the disembodied voice in him was arguing about, it's not his problem. Right now the catboy is looking for an office at a school of some sort, which he could only assume as Hyakuji. This makes works easy. "Well, you can tag along with us then. We're going for the school too," That said, he took the handle of the two big bags belonging to Ru, wheeling them towards the direction of Hyakuji High. "Come on, then. You don't wanna be late for your first day, right?" |

Haien grimaced at the idea "B-buy? L-like..like...a...s-slave?" he said horrified. Ru looked around desperately..."Whah?? No....not like that" he pleaded and clenched his hands tightly. Ru felt a hand on his head which caused him to look to see who the owner was. "Ru, you can't buy someone like that," he said ruffling his hair. Ru ducked under the hair and stepped back. "I didn't mean it like that..." he muttered under breath and crossed his arms against his chest. Does Seth have any idea how long it takes to do his hair? You can't just wake up and do it in five minutes. Its a process. That's like making a bed and then someone jumping on it as soon as you finished. "I was wondering...if m-maybe you could...tell me something? I'm supposed to find a um...main office? And...uh...well....t-there's supposed to be a...um...s-sorcerer-adept...here. At this...school? D-do you know where...I might be a-able to f-find them...?" Ru then remembered that they were at school. They were already heading for the main building before Haien joined them, so one more person shouldn't hurt. Before he could speak, Seth beat him to the punch "Well, you can tag along with us then. We're going for the school too." And with that they were on their way, like in the Wizard of Oz movie...they even had the Lion, played as the catboy, in the search for his courage...what does that make Ru? Dorothy? Maybe Scarecrow, because he had no idea what he was supposed to be doing. Seth was easily the Tin Man, no person with a heart would mess with a girl's hair like that. Seth took the handle of the two big bags belonging to Ru, wheeling them towards the direction of Hyakuji High. "Come on, then. You don't wanna be late for your first day, right?" Ru ran to catch up with Seth, while doing so he grabbed Haien's arm. "Hurry Haien-kun, by the way did you guys say magic? I heard all the kids here have powers and stuff" |

Haien managed to ignore the instinct to pull away when Ru grabbed his arm, and allowed himself to be dragged along. "R-r-really?" he asked, curiously. A whole school dedicated to the study of the magical arts? Maybe humans weren't as far behind the Faine as they seemed. True, they still had a long ways to go, but...if they had schools dedicated to the fantastical art of magic....they were on their way. "Um....D-do you...have a-any powers...?" Haien asked the girl. Humans....born with magic? Maybe they had more in common with the Faine then they seemed too. He looked around, and frowned. Not a living plant in sight. No snow lilies here, or ice roses. No magical garden that flourished even winter. "D-dead..." Haien murmured. "T-this...place i-is so....dead..." He looked around at the dead flowers and dormant plants sadly, and started to hum, not really paying attention to where he was being taken. In the Silver City, it was the Song of the Goddess that kept the plants alive in winter. Maybe...maybe it would work here. Or maybe these plants didn't have the proper spells on them...and it would just be a song... Haien sighed, and decided to try. He began to sing*. *OoC: (for a reference to his "voice" check my signature. Its the closest thing i could find to what i imagined) |

"Eh? Well... I suppose.. you could call it super-strength?" Seth answered with a slight nervousness, scratching his cheek lightly. To be frank, he didn't actually enroll in this school because he have any super-powers. In fact, he didn't even have powers. He simply got here because he wanted to find a way to separate the little (Don't call me little) mutant supervirus from his brain. Speaking of which... how much time is left...? He shook his head slightly to get rid of the thought from his mind. Save that for later, you have two new students to entertain. Since when did you become a babysitter? Sikura had been walking calmly towards the entrance of the school, ear buds planted firmly in her ears and doing her best to ignore the plethora of students also walking towards the main building. But at this particular moment, she was charging towards the building rather fast, she wasn't using her skills, as there were no actual obstacles in her way, but she was certainly moving fast. What had changed within the last few moments? Blood. Nothing serious happened, the blue-eyed dragon had simply yawned. But that was enough to re-open a wound on her bottom lip. She tasted it first, starting to quicken her pace, but it was when she felt it dripping down her chin that she began sprinting. An already bandaged hand wiped away the small stream of red. Those ice-blue orbs searched the area immediately in front of her. She had to find the nurses office, (they had a nurses office right?). But before she even reached the building her pace began to slow, realizing that this was a big campus, and what if the nurses office was in another building? The best thing to do would be to ask someone, right? She glanced at the students around her, continuing to wipe at the wound on her lip so they wouldn't see it. She couldn't just go up to some random student, what if they were a predator? What she needed, was to find another prey... Just then a small group of people passed her. Two boys and one girl. Based solely on appearances, the girl and one of the boys were prey, and the other boy was probably a predator. But he didn't seem to be attacking them at this moment. The girl was far too cheerful to have been recently picked on. Overall, Sikura's instant judgment told her these people were safe. "E-excuse me!" She said catching up to them quickly, holding her hand in front of her mouth so they wouldn't have to see the injury. After the initial attention-grabbing yell, her voice would retreat back into it's normal soft but isolated tone. "Do... do any of you know where the nurses office is?" She asked, swallowing softly and taking a step back, as though retreating from her own initial boldness. |

"Hurry Haien-kun, by the way did you guys say magic? I heard all the kids here have powers and stuff" That was the question that started Ru's injection into the school. I mean, why not ask? It was the reason that everyone was here. When you read between the lines, the students in the school were 'special' and attended classes that would hone their skills and help them interact with other of their kind....that's what it said in the book. "R-r-really? Um....D-do you...have a-any powers...?" Haien asked nervously. Was that a rude question? It was the one that Ru was dying to ask. He wanted to ask every student that he walked by. Living in Tokyo with regular family, he was sheltered from the supernatural. All he knew about magic was what he read in mangas and watched on TV. Now he is going to school with people with laser eyes, and devil horns...wait...if there were nice people in this school...weren't there also bullies? Mean people with some weird abilities that they would use to abuse the other students weaker than them? Ru got off lucky that he was rarely bullied but now he is a freshman...things were different. "Eh? Well... I suppose.. you could call it super-strength?" Seth answered with a slight nervousness, scratching his cheek lightly. That's a normal power, well a common one in comics. It's obvious what Haien's power was...seemingly, maybe there was more to it. So, was it Ru's turn? "Well, I can control water, nothing big yet, mostly freezing it and stuff." he said "E-excuse me! Do... do any of you know where the nurses office is? Ru looked over to see a girl with bandages. Also it took a second but she also had horns...a lot of horns...Ru's grip on Haien increased as she stayed closer to Seth. "We...we're new...so" |

Haien spotted the girl's horns, and brightened, his ears perking up as he began to babble at her in a fluid-sounding language. Then he noticed her eyes, and stopped, turning bright red. "S-sorry..." he mumbled. "I-I thought you were...something e-else." He watched his own feet for a minute, his ears drooping to their lowest as his tail wrapped around Ru's ankle. For some reason, he felt that, despite her humanity, she was a safe person. Kind, and possibly a future friend. Then he realized he'd asked a question but given nothing in return. "M-my power...I-I cast...spells..." Haien stuttered, half from nervousness and half from the unfamiliarity of the human language. "S-spells and...a-and...jewel...m-magick.......Um...I-I....what i-is a...nurse...?" He finally asked, after stumbling over th words. |

Turning around in response to the call from behind, he found himself looking straight to a girl. More specifically, a... horned girl? Well that's something you don't see everyday. Even in Hyakuji. But the fact that this place is Hyakuji, it's not strange to have a girl with six horns protruding from her head walking about the place as normal as any others would. But what really caught hi attention was that she was wrapped in bandages, like she's been in a fight or something. Alarmed with his over-protective instinct kicking in, he immediately rushed over to her with a look of genuine concern on his face. "H-hey, are you alright?" Not that the question was ever necessary. Even if she had the cut on her lips well hidden by her bandaged hand, ah. There's your problem. Bandaged hand. It's usually not normal for a girl this shy to be hurt like that. And there's another problem of the red spot on her hand. It's not hard to miss. Tracing the blood mark and he'd find out that her lips are bleeding. "Yes, you need the nurse. C'mon then. I'll show the way," He nudged her ahead towards the rest of the crew, seeing as they're going to go to the same place anyhow. "Ah, wait," Struck by a sudden thought, he dug into the pocket of his trench coat and pulled out a white handkerchief. "Here. For the cut," |

Sikura blinked recognizing a little bit of fear in the girl's body language and shrunk back a little herself as though to show she wasn't trying to frighten anyone. The girl also stated that she and the others were new, same as Sikura, so they wouldn't know where it's at. Before she could respond and move on to find another source of directions, the prey-type boy started talking, presumably to her, in a language she couldn't even vaguely identify. However, it seemed he realized his mistake when their eyes met. Though it was unclear whether it was her bewildered expression or something else that cleared up the misunderstanding. This boy proved himself as a prey-type quickly becoming embarrassed and stuttering and staring down. Sikura simply observed, wiping the blood from her lip once more, as he stated his 'power' before asking a question. Sikura was unsure but presumed that this was not directed at her since he made no eye contact after looking away from her. Obviously, this only reinforced the girl's statement. Sikura's ice-blue orbs turned to the last boy, who had almost instantly come to her side realizing that she was kind of injured. Before she could quite finish, he agreed that she needed the nurse and stated that he would show the way. She followed the direction moving towards the others a little, though watching them to make sure they, especially the little one, weren't scared. "Ah, wait," The horned girl blinked and turned back to the other boy seeing him offer a white handkerchief explaining it was for her cut. "Oh, n-no. I won't stain your cloth." she said shaking her head softly taking a slight step back and waving her hand a little. |

Fresh Start?

It perfectly normal for human to be afraid of something that they do not understand or what is different from the normal. It is the exact reason why he hasn't told a soul, outside the school, about his abilities. The last thing he wanted was to be a science experiment for the government. He knew that in the neighborhood that he lived in that people would freak out if they saw him manipulate water, so he always hid and did it at night. Ru's power was something that he could hide easily...he just didn't have to do it. This girl on the other hand didn't have an off switch. She couldn't just hide herself and blend into society. Ru felt bad for his reactions and began to relax a bit. When he felt a tail wrap around his ankle, Ru put an arm around Haien. "Um...I-I....what i-is a...nurse...?" asked the babbling neko. Ru whispered to him "Doctor...infirmary...person who takes care of you when you hurt yourself at school" Did Haien really not know? It was obvious...or should have been, the girl was bandaged. Seth being the bravest of them approached her. They spoke and he allowed her to join there group. She hesitated and followed slowly. Ru had no problem with this, she didn't seem to be dangerous. She was just scary looking, but that was because Ru was new to all this. Haien and Seth seemed pretty casual. Ru decided to step forward (figuratively) and ask the girl "What is your name?" and a followup question "Are you new too?" |

Haien looked curiously at Ru. "So this...n-nurse...is a h-healer?" His ears perked up a bit, as he felt a bit of pride for finally finding something in common with the human race. Now that he was calmer, partially because of the supporting arm around his waist, he raised his eyes too address the horned girl. "I-I'm sorry f-for my m-mistake...I-I thought you were...s-something else..." He explained to her, his amber orbs gazing into her sapphire eyes. "B-but that...ca-cannot be. Y-your eyes....blue, not g-gold..." Haien did his best not to stutter, but the unfamiliar language mixed with his own insecurity made it almost impossible. For a moment, he considered greeting the horned girl in the ritual fashion of the Faine, then thought better of it. There was a sort of wildness in her eyes. She might not take kindly to being touched. Yet another thing the Faine had in common with....ah, but she wasn't human...or was she? As he pondered that thought, his tail coiled further around Ru's leg, the end of it flicking at her long lavender-hued hair. |

"Oh don't worry too much about it. There's more where that came from," He said, taking the initiative to press the piece of cloth gently up her mouth to stem the blood flow. "There. Keep it on until we get to the nurse. From experience, open wound can be a very bad thing," He gave her a reassuring smile, the handkerchief should be able to stem it long enough until they could get some more professional medical treatment. He patted her shoulders lightly, motioning her to the rest of the kids he was chaperoning. "I suppose you're a student here as well? We can take you to the nurse first, then drop off Ru's bag in her room, and after that I can show you all around the whole school. How's that?" He addressed everyone, planting his hand to his sides acting like some professional tour guide or something. |

Sikura understood that she could look something like a monster, and to be perfectly honest she couldn't help but to consider herself as such. But she always tried her best not to appear as such to others. She was now prey too after all. Ice-blue orbs slid to the girl as she spoke asking for an introduction apparently. "A-ah I'm sorry," the horned girl gently apologized offering a slight bow. "My name is Sikura Donovan, I am 16 years old and of mixed dragon blood." the blue-eyed girl spoke softly, giving a slight explanation of her appearance and glancing at the ground. "and, yes, I just transferred... and you all are?" She raised her eyes slowly towards the cat-like boy as he started to speak again saying that he had confused her for something else except that her eye color made it clear. "It's alright, such simple horns as mine are easily mistaken for those of others." She said, attempting to make it sound like it was nothing although, taken in with the typical expression in her eyes it sounded quite depressing. Sikura's ice-blue orbs slid to the last boy as he spoke again, pressing the cloth to her lip before she could refuse. This sudden action caused the girl to jump quite visibly, grabbing the cloth and sliding back from the boy a step. After which she merely bowed her head uttering a small "Thank you." as he stated that she should keep it on until they reached the nurse. The horned-girl adjusted the cloth holding it to the wound properly, flinching again as he patted her shoulders before addressing the rest of the group as well. Initially she had only meant to get directions, but she wasn't going to pass up a group 'tour' as it were, especially considering it was a group of fellow prey. To show her agreement with this plan she merely nodded her head, keeping pressure on her wounded lip. |
