I'll burn my dread.

Christmas was nearing and without a doubt, it was snowing in Hyakuji. The snowflakes fell gracefully from the skies above and landed prettily on the ground, creating a beautiful snowy landscape. The serene instrumental playing her in ears definitely made the atmosphere feel even more, for the lack of a better word, serene. Michiyo peeked from behind her scarf. It was cold, she noted, but not that cold. She was decked in a winter coat and a scarf. She had come out to admire the scenery that the snow had created, especially around the fountain. She heard that the fountain looked especially beautiful around this time of the year. Michi smiled to herself at the thought of snapping a photo of such a glorious scene. Her hand fished her digital camera out of her messenger bag and she took a photograph of the fountain. Her camera went of with a 'click' and another 'click' as she took another one. "Definitely uploading this later on," she murmered with a satisfied smirk on her face. She kept the camera away. |

As she browsed through the pictures she'd taken, she would find one of them that sticks out like a sore thumb. In the picture, she would see a demonic hooded creature, sopping wet and completely drenched in water emerging from the fountain. It emitted a wave of heavy killer aura, consuming all others within the vicinity in a tsunami of terror. The evil abomination raised itself, higher and higher, until it reached it full height, its waist level with the fountain edge. The creature placed its hands on the fountain wall, raised one of its terrifying drenched leg over it, placing it on the ground. He followed it with his other leg, removing himself from the fountain completely. The hooded monster raised his hand, holding what appeared to be a zipper in front of him. He pulled it down, separating the bindings that holds the middle of his sweater together. Clack, it sounded, as the zipper reached the bottom, letting the sweater loose and revealing the horrifying sight of a bland brand-less t-shirt. The monster pulled back his wet hood. And out came the head of a fifteen years old boy with bright silvery white hair that seemed to sparkle from the combined effect of being wet and the shimmering winter sun. His face looked bored, if not unhappy. What is incredible is that he barely shivers despite being completely drenched in water in the open winter air. The Bad news to the girl. It seemed like the person had noticed her. He eyed her from the corner of his eyes. Then, after a slight moment of pause, the person raised his hand up high, pointing his index finger at the girl. He opened his mouth... "You..." to utter... "...get me..." ...an enchantment... "...food." "I am hungry. Get me some food," Truly. A demon. Izumi Raging River. Edited by Fin, Dec 21 2010, 06:03 AM.

"I am hungry. Get me some food." Michiyo raised an eyebrow as she stared at the silver-haired kid in front of her. Was this guy serious? With that seemingly nonchalant expression onto his face, she couldn't tell. Nevertheless, she shrugged and walked over to a nearby hot dog stand. After squeezing some mustard onto it, Michi walked back to the fountain. "Hey kid, catch." She threw it at him before she continuing. "You really need to learn how to do things by yourself instead of asking random strangers on the street." |

'Kid'? He caught the hot dog with ease, though inadvertently used a little bit too much pressure when grabbing it causing the mustard to drip off the hot dog. Oh, really... 'kid'? He shoved the hot dog into his mouth, gnawing half of it in one bit and swallowed it without even chewing it. She just called him a kid. He snapped his jaws over the last half of the hot dog, swallowing it whole. She just called him a kid without even thinking about how he might be older than she is. Not that it mattered anyway. Frankly he was a slight bit grateful of her generosity. No one in their right mind would actually treat someone who had just came out from a fountain, drenched wet in water in the middle of winter. Of course, he would never admit it. "Thanks for the hot dog," He said, giving a thumbs up with the same bored expression. Though there was a slight glint in his eyes that was not there before. Right. Now that he's eaten, it's time to go ba- "AAAHCHOOOOOO!!!!!" Very suddenly Izumi gave an extremely violent sneeze that knocked him off his feet. He landed hard on the snowy ground on his butt as his hooded sweater flew off. He gave a low groan and sniffled. That is to be expected. He was drenched wet, it's winter, of course he's going to catch a cold. Even if he's the Raging River, he's still just a human. |

"AAAHCHOOOOOO!!!!!" Michiyo sighed inwardly. It seemed that this kid was constantly getting into situations like this or were similar to this. She chuckled at the thought of it. She bent down to the height of the silver-hair kid currently sitting on the ground. Upon closer inspection, the girl noted that the boy seemed slightly older than her. By a year, she assumed. So maybe calling him a kid was a bad move? He was going to catch either hypothermia or a really, really bad cold, from the looks of it. She stripped her winter coat off and handed it to him. Thank the heavens that she was wearing a long-sleeved shirt. "Take this," Michi pushed it into his arms. She smirked. "You need it more than I do and I won't take no for an answer." |

The winter coat was shoved into his arms without even his consent. He looked at it, glanced at the person who gave it to him with his usual bored expression. Though, if she looked closer, she could see a hint of annoyance on his face, but too small to suggest anything. With a huff he yanked the winter coat from her, stood up and draped it over his own body. He felt around for a hood on the coat, but to no avail. Guess he would just have to be happy without a hood over his head for today. "Now I'm wondering if you're just trying to get on my good side or something," He told the girl. Of course, he knew full well that she simply helped him out of goodwill, but he's not about to say 'thanks' to the same person twice in a single day. That is simply humiliating. ... "Izumi Rivers," He said after a slight pause. Holding out his hand towards the girl for a handshake with his usual poker face on. That's his way of saying thanks. He doesn't say it. He acts it. |

Michi simply shook her head. As cold as she may appear to be, she's not that heartless to leave a drenched human (who somehow managed to dunk himself in the fountain) exposed to the chilling bite of Old Man Winter. "Now I'm wondering if you're just trying to get on my good side or something." Michiyo felt a slight twinge of annoyance but she hadn't let it show. "It was either that or you freezing to death just because you jumped into the fountain or it ate you up," she replied. "That would have been really humiliating." The unknown kid then introduced himself as Izumi Rivers. He stretched his hand for a handshake. Michi simply stared at it before looking away. She said, "Michiyo Kairi Makino. Just call me Michi." |

He stood there. Like an idiot, his hand outstretched and was seriously pondering about her action. Some of the respect he had for her vanished as he lowered his hands slightly, but not completely. Then, with reckless bravado (and a little bit of annoyance), he said, "Hey, don't you know that when someone gives out their hand after an introduction it means that they wanted a handshake? It's a sign that they acknowledge each other!" Without waiting for any reply he moved forward, grabbed her right wrist with his left hand with three times the amount of strength a normal person would have, and took her right hand with HIS right hand in an iron grip. In quick succession, he shook her hand, once, twice, three times, before letting her go. "There. That's a handshake." He said, folding his arms and looking disgruntled about the fact that he actually had to teach someone about shaking hands as a way to greet. |

Michiyo inwardly winced from the force that he had used on her hand. She stared at the boy (Izumi Rivers, was it?) standing right in front of her. The reason why she didn't shake her hand was because the situation seemed formal. Michi didn't like to be informal, even with people she had just met. "I'll keep that in mind," she said, slight annoyance evident in her voice. This guy was really something, she noted. She remembered that Hikaru had told her that if you were Hyakuji, that probably meant you had something special about yourself and Izumi Rivers - he didn't seem like a normal powerless kid. How or why he was in the fountain, she didn't know but still, it was probably something related to abilities, perhaps? "Okay, Rivers-san. I'm assuming that you live somewhere in Hyakuji. By any chance, are you from Hyakuji High as well?" she inquired. Usually, she won't be able to talk to guys normally but this dude - well, there was something unnerving about him. |

"Heh, so you're from there as well," He didn't ask. Rather, he stated something he managed to deduce from her inquiry. That school is a school for metahumans, for people with special powers. From that fact alone, he deduced that she's another one of those people with special powers. And, as per the reason he's here in the first place, people with powers always spur his interest. But not now. He's frikkin' cold, even with the coat on. After giving yet another sneeze, he wiped his nose with the damp hooded sweater of his. By now that thing is almost solid, the water from before frozen by the winter cold, it's like he just wiped his nose on a block of ice. "Urgh... So this is what happens when you try to sleep on the fountain..." Without another word, he turned around, making his way to the big city. Edited by Fin, Dec 22 2010, 06:25 AM.

"Dude, take off your damn jacket!" Michiyo called out after him as he walked towards the city. She sighed once again and murmured to herself, "I might as well make my way... hmm?" A shadow darted amongst the trees - she could see it from the corner of her eyes. Suspicion arose in her. Michi scooted closer to the trees despite the nagging on her mind, telling to move back. Guess what? She didn't listen. The 'shadow' darted out from behind the trees. Luckily, Michi dodged the creature and summoned her weapon and got into a defensive stance. Surprise was clearly written all over her face. 'How did THAT get here?!'

"Oh yeah, this isn't mine..." Izumi muttered silently, unbuttoning the winter coat he was wearing, sliding it off from his shoulders. He turned around and was about to call for her, when- "UuuuuUUUAAAAAA!!!!" A monstrous shriek of a monster was heard coming from a tree, and Izumi managed to see it the very moment it jumped out from the tree. Then, almost immediately- BOOOOOMM!!!! A red magic circle appeared below the hideous creature, and everything within the circle perimeter will feel seven times heavier. A crater appeared in the circle, as though a giant fist had punched the ground with tons of force and is pushing the ground with its fist, making the crater deeper and deeper every second. The creature should not even be able to move in the 7G Gravity Circle, while having its body crushed by its own weight. |

Michi was really glad that she had jumped out of the way. Her face was written with confusion. Her eyes that were transfixed onto the strange occurence below her darted upwards. She saw Rivers from afar and her eyes darted back to the monster. Without asking, she knew that he was the one who caused it. She avoided the circle by jumping on the tree branches. Finally, she reached to where he was. "Nice move, Rivers." Michiyo commented. She eyed her winter coat in his hands. She inwardly slapped her palm to her face. The girl meant his own jacket, not hers. She'll settle with him later. Right now, the need to eliminate this monster took priority over everything else. Her grip on her weapon tightened. "I can't enter that circle, can I?" |

"Ob... obviously..." He said in a faltering voice. His face, before looked so bored, now looked strained and pained. His teeth was gritted and and there's a bead of sweat running down his cheek, even though it's freezing cold outside. He staggered over next to Michi, with each step being more uncoordinated that the last. He stopped in his track, breathing heavily and erratically. "Right... first of all... I...I'm gonna ask you. What the heck... is that thing?" He asked her with a slight bit difficulty. Just trying to get the words out from his mouth was a feat. ... Curses. I can't take it anymore! Deactivate Gravity Circle! He thought, focusing hard on the brightly glowing red circle on the ground. In an instant, the red circle contracted, then shattered like glass. Izumi gave a huge sigh of relief as he felt his magical energy stopped draining like tap water in an attempt to supply the Gravity Circle with enough energy to work. Unfortunately for them, the creature is now free from its gravity prison. Edited by Fin, Dec 22 2010, 10:47 AM.

Michi's right hand immediately shot out to support Izumi's staggering figure. A seemingly simple gravity spell was draining most of his energy. She also noted that the bored expression on his face had been wiped away. Instead, an agonizing expression was written all across it. The girl then noticed that the red circle that was surrounding the beast had disappeared. It seemed disoriented from the sudden attack. Michi took the chance to land a hit on it. Charging forward, she managed to swing her blade. It made contact with the creature's horrid face. The girl grimaced - the creature had no eyes. There was only blood gushing out from those eye sockets. It's amazing how none of it has been spilled onto the floor. Well, not yet, at least. The monster launched itself at Michiyo - headfirst. Michiyo jumped up and onto the head of the monster. She managed to steady herself onto its back before plunging her keyblade into the neck of the horrendous being. |
