Dark. Snowing. Freezing. Not exactly Izumi's idea of a peaceful stroll. Kicking up the snow as he walked, his hood still on to keep himself warm, his hand in his pockets to prevent it from freezing, his breath misted the moment it exited his mouth, his expression bored. It hasn't been long since he came here, so being bored was to be expected. He came looking for people just like him. People with 'powers'. Back home he was the only one with such gift, if you don't count the three assassins who practically tore the neighborhood apart just before he came here.

His track halted. He turned around, facing the street and rested his back on the wall. There hasn't been much here. Staring at the sky, he wondered if the world really was huge. He took out the jade necklace from his pocket and brought it to his face, examining the word etched on the stone.

Fedorczyk

Well, there's no reason to doubt just how big the world really is. He had just been attacked by three super-powerful people that can fly and teleport and shoot lasers from their hands. For some reason, the idea that the world is like this made him excited. He grinned slightly as he swung the necklace around before catching the stone and pocketing it back. That necklace was more than enough proof.

As well as the transpiring event.

"Hold it, little guy. That's quite something you got there,"

Right from his side, a man, haggard-looking, with looping mouth that curled to something we could assume as a smirk and bloodshot eyes, was standing with a knife in his hand. All in all, we can say he's another one of your petty midnight robber.

"How 'bout we make a little trade, eh? You life and that thing," He said in a rasping voice.

Izumi could only stare at him in disbelief before face-palming himself. Really, are all criminals this stupid? Without really saying anything he straightened himself from his resting position and walked straight past the man.

"Hey, wait! I'm talking to you! Hey, BASTARD! COME BA- GUUUUUAAAAHH!!!!"

Very suddenly, the man collapsed to the floor, held down by his own increased weight. His legs was unable to handle the extra load and immediately gave away. The man struggled to keep consciousness, as he tried to stand up. It wasn't long, however, before he finally blacked out. The red circle under him vanished the moment the man's face hit the floor.

"Idiot,"
Not even once. Izumi never turned back to see what happened behind him. Not even once.

Izumi 'Raging' River doesn't hold back.

Some people are early birds, rising as the sun peaks hesitantly over the horizon, dyeing the sky crimson and rose. Others were just fine going about a standard day, enjoying the feel of the sun upon their faces. And even more were night owls, feathered and masked individuals sliding out of the shadows as the moon waxed bright and full. Adele was much more a night person than she was a day person, though making generalizations as one in her profession wasn't exactly a clever idea and she was more than capable of operating at any time of the day. This particularly cold and chill eve found her wandering the downtown area, trudging slowly through the snow, absorbed in her own world.

The night was made so much more mystical by the presence of the snow, thick, fat flakes drifting down amongst the street lamps, twirling and dancing just out of reach. Light refracted in a wild pattern, the occasional twinkle, like stars fallen Earth-ward, drawing and holding Adele's attention. It was almost completely silent save for the occasional murmur of noise from the buildings she passed and the crunch of the snow under her own sneakers. She tilted her head back slowly, breath curling out in a steadily expanding plume that fogged the air, coiling and contorting like a living creature. Up in the windows above her a form was silhouetted against the warm backdrop of light, palms pressed against the glass. She could see the perspiration on the window as the person moved back and away from their vigil of the snowfall, the hand print of their presence there for a few moments more before it too vanished.

With a faint sigh she looked back down at the sidewalk spanning before her, only a few other sets of footprints in the freshly fallen snow besides her own. Tucking her chin beneath the lip of her scarf, Adele began to move forward once more, her mindless shuffle drawing her even farther forward into city and further away from her motel. She had half a mind to find the nearest bar and get herself something stiff to drink, maybe a night of pleasant company and a better place to stay. Such thoughts were abruptly cut short as the sound of a scuffle and cursing reached her ears, eyes narrowing to dangerous slits as one word in particular of the shouted profanities caught here ear.

Bastard.

The speed of her footsteps increased and Adele practically skidded around the corner to an unlikely and odd sight, blinking in mild surprise at the two before her. One looked decided shifty and was crouched on the ground, looking as though he was struggling desperately to stand, a knife on the ground beside him. Even as she continued to watch he slumped closer and closer to the ground until his fight was in vain, cheek smacking against the concrete with a meaty 'smack,' the odd red circle beneath him fading. The second it had vanished Adele's eyes snapped to the other, a boy who was likely attending the school just as her own little tag-along was.

"Cute trick, kid," she cut in, not waiting for him to respond to her presence, taking a quick step towards the man crumpled on the ground. Head tilting curiously to the side, she crouched next to the downed man, poking him tentatively with her free hand. The other, her right hand, rested on her hip just beneath the edge of her scarf where her pistol was safely tucked away, ready to draw it at a moment's notice if the boy decided to use whatever...thing it was he had used on the man before her. She continued to stare for a moment longer, watching the faint stirring of snowflakes before his mouth. So he was alive, just unconscious. Interesting.

Rocking back onto her heels Adele glanced up at the boy, blue eyes appraising. "Say, how'd you do that, if you don't mind me asking? I've seen my share of odd things but nothing like that. If you don't mind me asking, of course." She added the last part nonchalantly, waving her hand in an almost dismissive motion. She wasn't one to beat around the bush, after all, and this boy had taken down a petty thief without much issue.

He kinda expected this. Or maybe he did not. But one thing's for sure, he finally turned around when he heard the voice of a woman right behind him. It wasn't normal for a normal person to say "Cute trick," when they saw a person suddenly collapsing right in front of them. What met his eyes matched exactly what he heard. A woman, crouching over to the man he just eliminated.

He watched her examine the man with a slight frown. What exactly is she doing out in the cold at midnight where people like the man on the ground lurks everywhere in every nooks and cranny that could fit rats and cockroach? But then again, this could only serve to interest him even more. A normal person wouldn't wander about like this alone. Easily meaning, she's not normal. His interest peaked as she asked him about his capability as normally as someone would ask another their name.

He was right. The world really is huge.

But of course, he's not just going to tell anything about his ability so nonchalantly like that. Number one, she's a stranger. Number two, she's a stranger. And number three, she's a stranger. Unveiling personal information to a stranger is generally a bad idea.

"Why should I tell?"
He smirked under his hood, turning on his heel getting ready to depart once again. It was a tad bit rude of him to just leave her like that, but that's just him. It might seem like he's missing out on a bunch, leaving someone who treats supernatural like their everyday coffee, but to him, if he could randomly encounter stranger who deals with odd things like her, then imagine what else could be out there. So, to him, he's not missing much.

"Why should I tell you?"

Her lips pulled taut in a smile, more amused than anything by his response. Good kid. It was a smart response and a reasonable one, not that he had anything to fear from her. Well, not much at least. She wasn't on the job at the current moment though who knew when that was to change. Lucky for this kid, then. "Why shouldn't you? Have anything to lose by telling me?" She still wasn't looking at him when he turned away, having returned her attention to the body to give it a few more curious pokes. The crunch of footsteps on snow caused her to glance up once more, an exasperated sigh escaping her lips.

Without thinking she pushed herself to her feet, giving the downed man a kick for good measure as she strode past him, not even earning a feeble groan in reply. Disappointing. She was hardly a fan of being snubbed and was curious about what exactly the boy had done, whether that was for better or worse she didn't know. Curiosity had killed the cat. Well, she wasn't dead yet, not even close, which meant that there was plenty for her to be curious about yet.

A chill gust swept along the street, whipping up snow and flinging it into Adele's face, the woman muttering a few choice curses and tugging her scarf back up around the lower portion of her face. "No need to be snippy," she called after him, "Some people take offense to that, y'know." Another burst of wind swept around the ground, Adele studiously ignoring it in pursuit of the boy. Why was she pursuing him, really? She wasn't quite sure herself, mostly curious, perhaps a bit amused, and maybe even slightly put off by the way he had brushed her aside. She didn't particularly enjoy being snubbed.

I LOVE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daiki screamed at the top of his lungs as he plummeted toward the snow covered street. A wonderful day like this had only been enjoyed by him only once or twice in his life. The first snowflake he had seen that day was during period one. Daiki had been looking out the window like usual half asleep but the sight of the greatest part of winter had woken him right up. After steady snowfall the school was buried pretty deep and the other students were taking full advantage of it. Snowball fights, Sledding, and other cool games were going on all around , but Daiki just couldn't really enjoy himself then. He could only think of home.

Presently as he continued to fall through the air he thought about after he got home to his dorm he had tried to call his dad. After several rings Dr. Watanabe's answering machine popped on and after a short message Daiki hung up. He stopped by the kitchen and grabbed a few snacks before going to his Dorm and jumping onto his bed. Staring into the white ceiling Daiki couldn't help but think of the first time the Doctor had taken him to see some good snow.

When he was still young him and Dr. Watanabe had gone to a ski resort in Hokkaido.
There had been some much it was almost breathtaking. After playing around and throwing snowballs at each other. The Doctor had taken them to go see something special. It was a skilled team of local snowboarders , they had blown past any obstacle that crossed their path.

After thinking about such a good time Daiki couldn't help but ask himself, "The hell am I doing at home." After quickly changing into the more winter friendly gear of a long sleeve shirt under his signature hoodie with a pair of warm pants and socks he had started toward the door, but then turned around and dove out of a nearby window.

Now free falling he was only thinking what to do on such a nice night. as he neared the ground he used his powers to pull himself up and land on the barren streets. What can you expect at midnight. The an age old thought popped into his head."Tim e to live the dream". Daiki extended his hand and clumps of snow started to lift off the ground and form in a flat long shape as more and more snow was added it developed a more recognized form: a snow board. After it was about the right shape and size Daiki lowered it to the ground and jumped on enveloping his feet for stability. Then he closed his eyes and put his whole mind into his powers. At first nothing happened but then a low rumble like falling pebbles echoed down the street Daiki smiled still with his eyes closed as the rumbling got loader and louder until it was almost deafening. Even with out his eyes open Daiki knew perfectly how that the small bit of snow down the street he had started to push had picked up more and more snow until now it was about a 14 foot roaring wave. The wave sweep Daiki up as it past and hoisted him up to the crest of the wave as he rode it down the road. While it was mostly deserted the street had a few passerby that went filing into shops and stores at the sight of the huge wave.

Daiki was loving ever minute of it, but then as he kept going he saw some folks down the orad that weren't stopping. It appeared to be at least two folks. He couldn't really make out who they were so Daiki just let the wave roll its course expecting them tho get out of the way but as he got closer he yelled in horror as he noticed one of them had beautiful hair that only belong to one woman. Adele!!!

As if turning off the water in a sink the wave started to die off as Daiki eased off his powers until it disappeared and it was only him and his board sliding accross the snow as he neared Adele his smiled widen and he skidded to a halt a few feet away and after so a nice entrance the only think he could think to say was , " Hey, Adele Chan."

"I got nothing to gain, either. What will YOU gain if I tell you?" He continued trudging along the sidewalk, not even bothering to turn back. He's actually enjoying this, toying around with other people's expectation. And from the looks of it, she's not gonna leave him alone any time soon, for some reason. "People can take as much offense as they want, but it won't affect me," Well, he really doesn't care much of what others think about him anyway. Kinda how he does his hero stuff back at home. As long as evil-doers get what they deserved, he doesn't care how he does it. His method was ruthless, unforgiving. If it hadn't been for the fact that he keeps crime rate low, he would've been tagged as a criminal instead. How else did he get the nickname Izumi 'Raging' River?

He kept on walking ahead, keeping his pace without slowing down. Come to think of it, he had been walking for quite a while since three hours ago. Whatever was he doing anyway, other than just having a peaceful night stroll? That being said, even though he's three times stronger than any normal human, he's still just a human. A normal human needed rest and relaxation. And some food. ... Inspiration struck him hard.

He stopped in his track and turned around on his heel, his hands still in his pocket and his hood still covering his head. Plastered on his face was his usual smirk. What he had was kinda stupid and pointless, not to mention, an adult like her probably wouldn't think twice about giving what he wanted. Cuz what he wanted was really something small. Just a VIP hotel room for him to spend the night and some grandiose dinner. "Tell you what. Let's make a deal. I'll give you a little demonstration of what I can do, and-"

He never got past that, as a huge rumbling sound came from directly behind him, slowly getting louder and louder every second. He turned around, only to have his mouth forming a perfect 'O' as he stared at what's coming right at him. A fourteen foot tall tidal wave made out of snow, threatening to swallow him whole.

Ah, shit.

His mind worked quickly, thinking about some possible defensive maneuver he could take. He could jump out of the way, but the tidal wave was huge. Up, down, left, right, backward (forward is a no-no), he'll be crushed anyway. His mind then worked his way to his Barrier Magic. Of course. How could he forget. he concentrated, and in just a fraction of a second, a blue circle complete with symb-

Ah... no need. The snow wave halted its progress just before it hits his face. The Barrier Circle in front of him was only partially materialized, appearing as an almost-transparent blue circle, which then dissolved to nothingness. Great. You made me waste my energy, thought Izumi. He relaxed his tense body, at the same time a boy landed in front of him (apparently he had been 'surfing' on the snow wave). He was about to beat the hell out of the boy for nearly killing him, when the boy called out to someone behind him. Which, considering the fact that there's only one person behind him, made him turn around again to face the woman with a look of extreme annoyance, "'Adele-chan'?! Is he your brother or something?"

"I got nothing to gain, either. What will YOU gain if I tell you? People can take as much offense as they want, but it won't affect me."

This one had a mouth on him. Amusing. Adele's lips contorted in a brief smirk, mischievous gleam in her eyes, an acidic reply on the tip of her tongue. She was so tempted to reply to his cynical barb with one of her own but where the fun in that? Instead she contented herself to following him, stepping carefully in the footprints he left in passing, hands shoved deep into her pockets, more bemused than anything else. He was enjoying this, that much was clear, especially as he finally turned to face her, apparently having made a decision. Now all she had to do was listen and decide if it was actual worth her time; it likely wasn't.

"Tell you what. Let's make a deal. I'll give you a little demonstration of what I can do, and-"

All the while the boy had been speaking a faint rumble had been growing, swelling behind them without remorse though Adele cast all worries aside. They were in the middle of downtown. What could possibly happen? Whatever it was could, especially as the student before her stammered off mid-sentence, eyes growing wide with what she could only assume was dawning horror. She wasn't so out of practice as to not react right away, spinning quickly in place, hand slapping reflexively to her side where her pistol was, eyes darting back behind her towards the seamlessly shifting wave of snow. What the...?

" Hey, Adele Chan."

Just before Daiki spoke the mini-avalanche tapered off, the boy somehow using his abilities to stop what he had created. She couldn't deny that she was mildly surprised, blinking and continuing to stare at it for a moment before taking a delicate step back as snow trickled down, sliding over the toes of her sneakers. So far Hyakuji had never failed to impress her, the odd assortment of individuals and their abilities making for an interesting time. That in turn made her wonder exactly who her target was. Surely it wasn't some anonymous and petty high school student. They seemed more likely to end up killing themselves by doing something stupid if current events were anything to go by. If it was one of them they'd end up doing her job for her eventually.

"'Adele-chan'?! Is he your brother or something?"

Suppressing a snort of incredulity, Adele returned her attention to the boy she had been following just in time to see him turn, the expression of annoyance on his face priceless. She really didn't blame him and, had she been in his position, would have likely reacted the same but perhaps with a bit more gunfire. "Not that I'm aware of," she replied, lips quirking in a faint smirk. Now, this was beginning to be just too much fun. "Last I checked I was a single child. Unless there's something you're not telling me, Daiki. I will be mildly surprised if y-"

Her words were interrupted by a sudden crash, the situation seeming to unravel all at once. In the span of a few seconds, the peaceful alley erupting into chaos, a flurry of shapes rushing out of the cold shadows, knocking over trash cans and kicking up plumes of snow. They were quick, whatever they were, moving with an uncanny speed and dexterity, slavering jaws gaping, hot steam curling from their maws. In the span of only a few seconds they were upon the unfortunate trio, three monstrous forms, rippling with tight-packed muscle and taut sinew, lantern eyes blazing small trails of light in the frigid air. A sharp bark seemed to signal the attack as the creatures split formation, one going after each individual in the blink of an eye.

Adele barely even had time for her fingers to brush her pistol, sweeping aside the edge of scarf hanging over the handle before the lead form hit her. It was only her reactions, borne of years going after the wrong kind of folk in the worst of situations, that saved herself from being gutted, the beast instead slamming its shoulder into her side and knocking her over, sending her tumbling into the wall with force, spine slamming abruptly into the brick there. The monster went skidding across the snow, curling talons digging deep furrows in the soft powder and ice. For a moment it paused, heavy body slung long, lips curled back in a feral snarl over serrated fangs, flashing eyes fixated on the Italian woman with a fervent intensity.

Still for a moment, Adele was allowed a brief glance at the monster. Her cursory examination was brief and to-the-point, though her lingering gaze gathered a bit more information. Quadruped and with thick, powerful limbs, the muscle visible beneath mottled, hairless skin, the creature certainly wasn't what anyone could call pretty, even its mother. Saliva dripped from a jutting jaw and jagged teeth, beady eyes set beneath bony ridges, muzzle looking almost as though it had been smashed in at one point. Ropey scars wound across its filthy hide, a small stub of what looked to be a docked tail tipped upright. It looked like a dog gone horribly wrong, almost, made hairless and twisted, jacked up on drugs and who knew what else until it was simply a parody of whatever it had been, if anything at that. And what was worse was that there were three of them, maybe more. Adele was beginning to have the sinking feeling that they revolved around a pack mentality, especially as the beast before her gave another snarl and lunged forward.

This time she was ready, jerking her pistol up as the beast launched itself towards her, a blur of motion, jaws gaping. Once, twice, her finger squeezed the trigger, sending a pair of bullets into the monster, one ripping into its meaty neck while the other tore into the right shoulder. A kreel of pain rent the air, the merc frantically sidestepping the still-lunging beast, which slammed heedlessly into a trashcan. The force of the impact formed a huge dent in the side of the metal and sent the rancid contents spewing out across the ground, Adele backpeddling quickly and aligning her pistol for another shot. The creature was pushing itself to its feet again, hot blood pocking the snow around it, gore streaming freely down its flank. The bullets hadn't even seemed to slow it for long, especially as it lurched at her once more, fully upright, giving her just enough time for a few brief and eloquent words before it lunged.

"Well shit."

So, to simplify the long description of the situation, three mutant hulking monster just assaulted them from out of nowhere, one of them rammed into the stalker woman sending her flying through the air into the nearby wall. Right. And from the looks of it, they're ****ing tough, seeing as they did not die even after being shot twice at their critical points (she owns a gun?).

Well well well. This city is even more interesting than it looked. In a single night he managed to find a gunslinger stalker woman and three mutant dogs. Perhaps there is something wrong with his brain, to chuckle at this turn of event. But no. His brain is normal. At the very least, he's not the type of person to leave a woman, heck, anyone as supper for some abominable dog-yeti thing. ... Yeah, go and help her.

In the split second it took for his brain to process the information his eyes managed to gather, in this case, Adele in the verge of being headbutted the second time by the very same behemoth she just shot, a large magic circle with sigils and symbols scrawled all over it appeared right below the charging monster, enough to cover the whole figure of the mutant mutt. It shone a bright bloody red, indicating the huge amoung of magical energy being siphoned to the circle. In an instant-

BBOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!

A massive crater appeared right within the circle perimeter the moment the 5G Gravity Circle was activated, as though a giant invisible fist had just slammed itself right at the surface of the earth, denting the whole lot of the pavement like some... some... ...whatever.

"I'll be wanting payment for this later, Adele-chan," He said, smirking slightly as he purposefully stressed on the suffix.

The monstrosity's muscles coiled and bunched again in preparation for another leap, but this one was thankfully cut short prematurely by the appearance of a brilliant crimson glyph under her foe. For a second there was only only nothing, the monster's eyes not even drifting down before it's world abruptly and violently imploded. One moment the ground and monster had been whole and the next it looked almost as though some large and invisible force had squashed it flat, a large indent marking the place where it had stood only moments earlier.

Adele would have stood there, dumbfounded and staring, had there not been two other beasts to deal with, one of which was looking at where it's brother had been just moments earlier with something like alarm on it's squashed features. Not for long, though, as the woman pulled her pistol up smoothly and aligned the sight with it. Few things could survive a bullet to the brain, that much she had come to count upon, and hopefully this was no different.

That one small truth proved true as a trio of bullets burst through the monster's skull, it's jaw going slack before it crumpled to the ground, just in time for her to hear the other boy's snide comments "I'll be wanting payment for this later, Adele-chan." Her lip curled up in reply though she said nothing for the moment, very nearly tempted to tell him that his payment would be her not shooting him. She did owe him, though, and she would pay up on that later if possible. For the moment she was more interested in surviving than in figuring out whatever material desires he had.

Don't go holding your breath," she muttered to herself, pistol snapping back towards the other monster. The creature, whatever it was, was backing quickly away from them, lips curled back away from it's teeth in a snarl. She only had time to fire off one round before it turned tail and loped off as fast as it's knobbly legs could carry it, vanishing around the corner just as mysteriously as it had arrived. That didn't bode well. Holstering her gun she turned to the boy, gesturing towards the end of the alley with her hand. "Come on. I don't exactly feel safe out here, unless you want to stand here and discuss politics while we have tea and crumpets or something." That was more in typical Adele style, especially as she turned and strode off, hoping that there was at least someplace they could get into. She would feel much safer with a roof over her head and a wall behind her back. Open cities weren't the best of places to fight an unknown enemy in.

"What, running away already?" Izumi muttered to himself in an amused tone as he watched the remaining live one scamper. Well well well. Seems like they're intelligent to some degree, to be able to recognize danger and choosing to avoid it. But really, is it normal to be attacked by mutant dogs in Hyakuji? Well, he'll find out about that later. "Sorry, no politics for me. But I won't say no to a cup of tea," What? He likes tea. Either way he followed her into one of the alley, remarking, "Nasty," as he passed the two immobile form of the mutant thing. It seems unlikely they would be back on their feet, especially the one with his head full of lead.

They entered the nearest dark alleyway, engulfing themselves in nothing but dense darkness, even with the moonlight. Izumi kicked off cans and age old food wrappers and foods alike, glancing around for any place of comfort. Is there even any in a dark alley? All he could find was a couple of trash cans and a large trash bin. Not a place he could call comfortable. "Quite a taste you got," He said, kicking aside a moldy old frozen hot dog. Personally, he preferred open places, as there's more room to move around. But what the heck.

"Right, on to business,"
He started, leaning on the wall with his arms crossed, looking at her with a slight bit of curiosity. "I'm guessing, since those mutts took a liking towards you, does this mean you're somehow... 'acquainted' with them or something? What are those things, anyway?"

"Quite a taste you got."

"What can I say," she replied dryly as they made their way into a much narrower alley, the woman stepping around a pile of trash with thinly veiled distaste, "I certainly know how to pick 'em." The back alley was littered with rotting detritus and discarded treasures whose value had long since passed, but for the most part it was leftover food from the nearby restaurants. Disgusting. It was like a hobo's paradise combined with the snowy cheer of Christmas, forming some dastardly hybrid location.

"Right, on to business. I'm guessing, since those mutts took a liking towards you, does this mean you're somehow... 'acquainted' with them or something? What are those things, anyway?"

She didn't answer, at least not immediately, instead glancing around as if waiting for something else to pop out and stall the conversation, maybe even break up their little party if she was truly lucky. Nothing, though, which meant that she would either have to think up a truly stunning distraction or answer him. Sadly, nothing in the way of distractions was coming immediately to her mind, which left her to step over to one of the lidded trashcans, lifting herself up and perching on the edge after brushing away the dusting of snow that had accumulated there.

"I might have known something similar to them at one point," she began carefully, picking her words in an uncharacteristically pensive manner. She felt that she owed him at least some information, especially given the fact that he had saved her life, but how much was adequate? It was a slippery slope and one she had to tread cautiously, if only for her own sake. "To put it shortly they are genetic experiments. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, all combined into one fantasticly fun bundle of joy and energy. Real crowd pleasers, obviously good with children, you know, the whole spiel. They're hard to kill, which likely means a highly decentralized nervous system and who knows what other little pleasant surprises. Can't say I'm looking forward to meeting them again but they may have other plans."

"You know, I'd be happy enough even if you said 'I don't know'. I'd just assume you're just some unlucky lady who poked her nose a little bit too far into something. And I suppose that's what you'd prefer for me to know," He remarked, contemplating each and every single word she just said. Obviously enough, she's hiding stuff. Hesitating and talking as though she's picking her words very carefully wasn't what she did before the mutants joined in.

"Ah well. It's your life," He waved the matter aside. As curious as he was, the life and times of some gunslinger woman was of little importance to their current situation. His, mainly. I'm not gonna explain much since it's too troublesome. To simplify, they've been sent to go after her. Then he's found out to be with her. Hence, he will be marked as a target as well by some random mad scientist. Which, ... which...

...awesome. He's tied up in something really big. Either his brain isn't working right, or he's just some big-ass masochist, he's grinning at his current predicament. Pushing himself off from the wall, he pulled back his hood. "You know, I'm caught up in this mess as well," Something that is supposed to be said with an annoyed face, he said with a smile. "So. I'd be glad if you could share a bit more about this 'plan',"

His reaction wasn't wholly unexpected, perhaps even a bit more gracious than she had been personally hoping for. After all, it wasn't as though she had just told him something small and inconsequential involving spilling a can of pop or something. Their current discussion most definitely pertained to more pressing matters, those involving life, and more specifically their own. Had she been in his position, she likely would have responded with a few more snide words and perhaps some physical threats of violence (which would more than likely be carried out regardless). For the moment she held her tongue, watching him silently, mind whirring.

She highly suspected that the beasts had been sent after her as a find-and-locate sort of thing, likely expendable, not that that was much consolation. The fact that one alone had possessed enough forethought to escape did not bode well for either of them, especially since it was likely equipped with some sort of monitoring equipment or maybe cued in to their smell. Either way, it meant that if the monster made it away unscathed and whole they were in for a world of hurt. The least she could do was keep the boy from being implicated.

"You know, I'm caught up in this mess as well. So. I'd be glad if you could share a bit more about this 'plan.'"

Adele nodded, pushing herself forward off her trashcan perch in one fluid moment, smoothly pulling her pistol free of concealment with her free hand. She paused to check the chamber. Three bullets left, which meant that she would have to make the best of them, especially considering that she hadn't brought any in the way of reloads along. "The plan is simple, and one I certainly hope you aren't adverse to," she announced with a nonchalance she wasn't truly feeling, forcing a self-satisfied smirk across her own lips. "We go hunting."

"Hahah! Hunting, huh? Right within my comfort zone!" He said out loud truimphantly, earnestly and honestly. Frankly he's dying to get back into action. Back at home he makes hunting criminals a hobby. Not a single one has escaped his iron grasp. How can hunting some random mutant mutt be any harder?

"Well, what are we doing standing around in the middle of a dark alley like this?" Not exactly in the mood to wait, he slid his hood back on and strode out of the alley, not even bothering to wait for her to lead the way. But then again, you don't let the lady lead the way. He exited the alleyway, the moonlight illuminated over him giving him the impression of some street-smart Grim Reaper. He leaped out to the middle of the street, holding his arms wide open yelling loudly to the dark cloudy sky.

"Come, mutt! Show yourself! Let us play a game of survival!!!"

He really is nuts.

That most certainly wasn't the reaction she was expecting. She had expected hesitance, perhaps a bit of fear, maybe even some whimpers for good measure. Certainly not...that. But enthusiasm, a certain blood-thirsty flash in his eyes, an eager smile? Not expected in the slightest. She was too practiced to gawk and stare like some adolescent schoolgirl, instead settling for a few rapid blinks of her eyes and mouthing something like a question, whatever words she had been about to say garbled over by his own enthusiastic prodding. She didn't even have time to reply as he was already turning and striding away, obviously excited to get on with their task.

She padded quickly after him, pulling her pistol out in preparation, eyes already swiftly scanning their surroundings in case the mutt was watching and waiting for just such a move. Nothing yet, though, and they moved out into the street once again. The snow had stopped falling, thankfully, but that hardly made the night seem less sinister. Every twitching shadow drew Adele's attention and that of her gun, but none moved towards them. It was completely silent, save for her boisterous companion.

"Come, mutt! Show yourself! Let us play a game of survival!!!"

"Clever, kid," Adele growled under her breath, not even bothering to hide the roll of her eyes, "You really want to wake up all the neighbors that bad?" Thankfully everyone seemed to either be sound asleep or didn't care enough to bother checking on the commotion outside and the boy's outburst went unnoticed. Or had it? Nothing so much as moved and Adele strode past him, still glancing around anxiously. "It's probably waiting to ambush us," she mumbled in a low, confidential voice. It seemed smart enough to not risk going after them when they held the advantage of open space. "What do you say we set up an ambush within an ambush?" she asked suddenly, a spark dancing in her eye, a mischievous smirk pulling at her lips. They had to out-think this creature, and fast.
