"Listen, if it has to be this way then fine but let me just-" However, Hiro found little time to finish explaining as the kid before him suddenly started blitzing straight towards him. Would it be enough time? Regardless, he had to try that spell first because he was the school's prime source of collateral damage and currently they needed to save all the money they could. As Izumi rushed forward, Hiro began to chant a new spell in an odd language the boy wouldn't recognize. An aura of radiant colors began to surge up around the teacher as he pushed closer to the payoff. But then.... WHAM! The boy's fist, augmented by the spell he had cast, slammed into Hiro's body directly on target forcing him to gasp as the literal air was knocked out of him. Wincing a little in pain Hiro then finished his statement, "I was going to say... if you'd let me just cast a spell to place us somewhere that we can't break anything...but... that was good... you should never give your enemy, especially a spellcaster, the time to speak when it's serious..." Laughing a little softly, Hiro finished the last two words of the spell as a barrier-like field expanded out around them until about a block of the city around them had been enveloped. "Think of this like a pocket dimension," Hiro explained as he took a few steps and gently placed a hand where he had been struck, "Whatever happens in here won't translate to the city but when we're done the spell will end and we'll be right back in the street where we started things." "You've got to be new so I don't expect you to know this," Hiro explained, "But the school is having some money problems. That's why this is going to be a free lesson.... Now, Simon, Sukukaja!" Responding to this command, his persona raised a hand slowly as a wave of blue light emanated and then lowered enveloping Hiro's body and flashing for a second before vanishing. Following this Hiro took up a readied stance, which Simon mimicked, and motioned for Izumi to come at him again.

"Hm..." He muttered, glancing around the area with a look of interest in his face. The whole area was inverted in their visible wavelength, the wind didn't even move, there was no living being in sight other than the two, it was like they had been transported to another dimension. Which they had. "So it's like one of those 'Closed Space' thingy," He smirked slightly, and laughed. This is incredible, thought Izumi. So a full-fledged mage can even make this sort of thing? Apparently there was more to this guy than he thought. "So it wouldn't matter if I trash this place up right?" Needn't have asked, he'd be HAPPY to trash this place up. Now there's no reason for him to hold back against anything whatsoever. Alright then, you're on! He crouched down low, before going to a full-throttle sprint right at his opposition. Ah, but isn't running head-on to an enemy like that a bad idea, especially when it looked like he had just casted a spell on himself? Usually in this case, it would be some kind of a buffing spell or some sort. Though what kind of buff he had placed on himself, he had no way of finding out, unless he engages in a hand-to-hand combat against him. But he himself is not without trick. The gap between them was closed rapidly, his eyes darting to each and every single part of his opposition's body, looking for an opening. ...you know what, why not just punch him in the guts again, just to test him? That's what he did. He casted yet another set of Physical-Magic Barrier over his knuckle, which he pulled back, and threw it forward, aiming right at his opponent's face. ...Hold on, did he just fell for that guy egging on him to make the first strike? "Tch," Hiro scoffed as the boy rushed at him once more using the exact same tactic, "I already know you're smarter than this. You have no way of knowing what I just casted but you're trying to scout it out using the very same attack you just used? Consider class in session..." Hiro Tsukasa smirked as he envisioned the scene before him. If everything went to the kid's plan he would be nailing him another shot; this time directly to the face. However, he no longer needed to rush at throwing up the barrier field they were in. And of course there was the matter of the wild card in all of this: Sukukaja. Just as Izumi's punch was about to connect with Hiro's face the teacher vanished in the blink of an eye; reappearing just a second later to the left side of the boy. At first it might seem he had teleported, but there was no surge of magical energy. No, in fact Hiro was simply moving just that fast. Though his opponent had no way to know it right away without previous encounter with Persona the spell Sukukaja buffed ones speed to inhuman levels. With the same inhuman speed, Hiro drew back one of his arms and then thrusted it forth intending to backhand Izumi square in the face. The kid would need lightning reflexes to outright avoid the attack; which was boosted in strength from the sheer speed of the swing.

What the heck-! That guy just disappeared! His eyes widened in shock as his hand flew through the air, punching nothing but dusts and, uh... air. He was sure his fist hasn't even been a few inches off his face, and that guy just... gone. Yeah. Whoosh. Just like that. He didn't have much time to react. Heck, he didn't even have time to get back on his own two feet. He was still moving forward, following the momentum he had while intending to fire a solid knuckle to the hero's nose, when all of a sudden, out of the corner of his eyes, the man appeared out of nowhere. Ah shit. Barrier, barrier, barri- SMAASSHHWHAMM!!! There was a brilliant shattering sound like breaking glass, and the satisfying fleshy impact as the powerful attack broke through his half-formed Physical-Magical Barrier and struck him squarely at his face. That was... incredibly fast. Even the speed of his thought train couldn't match that of the attack. While the half-assed barrier might have managed to take out some of the momentum from the hit enough so that he didn't get knocked out in one blow, it had sufficient power to send him reeling and tumbling backward a few meters away. Half a dozen meters. ...Okay... I think he's overreacting... He had rolled away on the ground a few dozen meters already. Well, it's a way of dissipating the kinetic energy so that he didn't have to take it all. He never stopped his movement, though. After all the rolling and stumbling he jumped back to his feet and continued making as much distance from the mage with a few back-flipping and spinning, until he landed once on the ground before jumping up, high... into the... air? Right before he executed his massive vertical leap he had casted a Fractional Gravity Circle right under his feet, that glowed a very bright blue, instantaneously reducing the gravity within the perimeter of the circle to about one-fifth of the original gravity. Combined with his three-times-stronger-than-any-normal-human legs, the result equals to a gigantic leap that could easily scale a three-story house. His face was stinging painfully, and he could barely see his target since the shock of the impact shook his brain for a bit, disorienting him for the moment. He can't waste any time dilly-dallying around, though. Who knows, at this point he could probably take the chance of the increased distance between the two to prepare a powerful blast of magical energy to be shot right at him. "That's not all I have!" He yelled, before extending one of his arm to his side. Something black swirled around it for a while before a big black one meter radius All-Purpose Barrier formed over his hand. He grabbed it, pulling it back before throwing it forward towards the hero like a giant spinning round manhole cover more than anything else. |

"Very very good," Hiro commented as he watched Izumi recover from his attack and begin mount another of his own. This time it seemed he was going for a long range approach. A logical move considering it was quite obvious by this time his speed had become enhanced; a miss at close range meant a near unavoidable counter attack. Watching him descend from the magically boosted jump and prepare the barrier blast Hiro Tsukasa smirked slowly. Regardless of how things turned out Hiro had already decided something; this kid would be perfect for Arcadia. Their battle against The Hellfire Club was heating up and this was just the type of person they needed; someone willing to cast off everything and go for an all out assault no matter the cost. "Though, That's still not enough!" Hiro shouted as the manhole-like barrier blast rushed towards him. Shadowing out again thanks to the super speed Hiro vanished from the spot and reappeared in a new location behind where Izumi was descending from the sky. He'd have to make the most of his Persona while he could knowing once Sukukaja wore off he'd have to adapt to another strategy since the boy was surprisingly quick; especially with the aid of his gravity-based magic. "ZIODYNE!" he shouted loudly as his Persona, Simon, mimicked his voice and movements; extending its right arm as a powerful blast of electrical energy shot through the air arcing towards Izumi.

There's no doubt about it, thought Izumi as the giant manhole barrier smashed through the street that was completely devoid of any hero whatsoever, carving a long deep trench as it rips through the road like a giant speeding stray circular saw blade, coming to a complete stop only when it crashed into the building at the opposite end. It was either enhanced speed or strength. He can't fight close-up against someone who's can move faster than he can think. But- There was a crackling sound right behind him, below him. He peered downward, and received a huge smack to the head as fifty tons of realization hits him HARD. He's fighting against a magician, someone who highly specializes in long-range artillery type attacks. His eyes widened as he saw lightnings began to materialize around the man's arm, arching around as the electron concentration becomes more and more dense. There's no time to block it. You know how fast lightnings can travel? "HHhhhHAHAAAAAAAAAaaaaAAAA!!!!!" It melted a hole through the half-formed Physical-Elemental Barrier as it punched through it like hot arrow through butter. The lightning struck him, sending waves of paralyzing painful muscle spasm inducing three hundred volts (assumption) of electrical blast through his entire body, numbing him from head to toe, messing up his coordination system, literally frying him. That looked like a finisher. He fell through the air, singed, torn up, seemingly unconscious- "My turn," The small mutter as he fell was the trigger to his counterattack. In a flash, all around where his opponent should be, nine black, thick, All-Purpose Barrier surrounded him, encasing him in a dome-like structure. The outside world would still be visible from the gaps between the inscriptions in the circles, but if one tries to squeeze their hand through the seemingly empty part, all they could feel was a solid wall. It would take a speeding bike to smash through one of them. But that's the end of it. Well, nearing the end. As he fell, he could feel the magical reservoir in his body nearing emptiness. He crashed hard on the ground, breaking and dislocating a few bones in the process. He groaned as he tried to determine the sky and the ground from where he was lying. Of course, the top must be the sky, and behind him must be the ground, right? Uh, that bolt was seriously powerful, he couldn't even tell left from right. Clumsily he pushed himself off the ground, ending up sitting instead, as he couldn't even stand even if he wanted to. He stared at the dome he made for a few moments, before he forced himself to stand. He needed to be quick, and he needed to make this worth it. Holding up his left hand to his side, he conjured one black All-Purpose Barrier three meters in radius. He grasped it tight, breathing in as much air as he attempts to focus all his strength into this single attack. He can usually just do this on a whim, but it was a mark of how bad his injury was that he needed time to actually focus. There was a slight pause, before- WHOOOSH!!! In a single swift rapid movement he turned once on the ground, both of his hand grasped the giant barrier. One speedy spin, just one as he concentrated on his target, forcing all his power into his arms, he threw the makeshift circular saw blade thing... at the building behind him, mid-way to the top. In one explosive impact it smashed into the building, tearing off a huge portion of it from the main structure, causing it to fall right on top of the dome! If that's not enough... Izumi staggered the moment the barrier left his arm. But before he fell back with a thud, a massive ten meter radius Gravity Circle was formed right underneath the dome, glowing a bright bloody red as it multiplied the gravity around it by five-fold! A.K.A. 5G. That was it, he thought, as he fell flat on his back, panting and gasping out of exhaustion. He could feel the last drop of his magical energy being burned to nothingness. "You're good at recovering," Hiro complimented him as he watched the kid begin to start another attack. However, it quickly spiraled out of control and before Hiro knew it he realized Izumi had launched was basically a desperation attack. If he hadn't placed them in the alternate dimension so they could fight then hundreds of people would be injured or worse from his attack at the building. "Shit shit shit..." Hiro mumbled to himself as he tried to push forward to the center of the area as the building chunk began to fall at an increasingly fast speed due to the gravity boost. Despite still being under the effect of Sukukaja the gravity field nullified most of its advantages so in the end was pushing along struggling to just barely keep normal speed. His concern about safety meant expelling a massive amount of magical energy all at once to get them into their current situation. This meant he had little left in reserve to actually fight with. He'd have to make it count with one attack. All at once a surge of magical energy erupted around Hiro as he began to glow with a red aura. "Darkness beyond the twilight, crimson beyond blood that flows. Buried in the flow of time, in your great name here I make a vow to darkness. To the fools who stand before us, merge thine strength and mine to deliver destruction to all equally!!" The building was going to crush him at any moment. With just seconds to spare Hiro held up both of his hands interlocking them together as another explosion of magical energy erupted at his palm. "DRAGON SLAVE!!!!" All at once every remaining amount of magical energy within Hiro's body exploded forth into the air as a destructive beam of magical energy. As it struck the building it set off a chain reactions of explosions devouring and destroying all of it leaving only random chunks of tiny rubble to scatter on the ground. As the dust settled, steam rose off of Hiro's own body and with no magical power left to sustain the alternate dimension they were fighting in a bright flash occurred and suddenly the two were back where they started in the streets of Hyakuji. All at once, Hiro collapsed down to his knees; his magic spent. "That was good," he admitted, "But if you keep fighting that reckless you'll hit a point where you only win at the cost of your life...." |

"I know that," He said feebly on the ground, looking quite impassive despite the entire ordeal. But don't let that bored face fool you, he was far too tired to be whooping like a maniac right now. There hasn't been any other time that he had felt so alive. Although, not being able to enjoy it due to burn-out was a bit of a letdown. Although, lying down at the middle of the street might not be such a good idea. Struggling a bit he pushed himself back to his feet and shuffled over to the sidewalk, where people all around them stared at the two beat-up and worn down individuals who somehow appeared out of nowhere. But, as much fun as that had been, he couldn't help but think that this one could have been a whole lot more intense. And he was very sure that if he had gone all out he'd have been lying there fried or frozen or whatever. Well, technically he had been fried, but not as bad as he had imagined he would have had. Then again... altering dimensions are high level magics (not that he would know). Even someone as strong as that guy shouldn't be able to make one permanently. This only made him tingle with even more with excitement. A small pause before he suddenly blurted out, "Oi, what's your name, anyway?" Edited by Fin, Mar 19 2011, 11:49 PM.

Breathing heavily in exhaustion, Hiro rose from his knees shrugging off the awkward stares from those passing by on the street. To them two dudes suddenly appeared out of nowhere as if they just had the fight of their life. Perhaps not an uncommon sight in Hyakuji but still something eye catching. "Hiro," he finally answered the boy's question as he managed to catch his breath, "Hiro Tsukasa. I'm the Supernatural Studies Teacher for the high school and I also lead one of the home rooms. So, I'm sure one way or another you'll be seeing me around." HQ, I'm going to send you a name later. I want him to be sent the dream immediately. I've found a perfect recruit for Arcadia. "And who might you be?" he asked as he stepped towards the boy closing the gap between them and letting the various passer-bys decide to think nothing of them and go about their day. Not that it mattered, but it was an old habit from his past of doing his best to make his magic seem coincidental when used in public before coming to Hyakuji. |

"Hiro Tsukasa...?" He muttered silently, folding his arm and stroking his chin while sitting down cross-legged on the floor. People around them started dissipating away, losing interest at what just happened, and now they only attracted sideways glances from the passers-by. He gave a small snort as he came to a realization. "Guess I'll be seeing you a lot then," He said, remembering his class schedule. He got up, stretching his back and popped a few bones back into it's place. "As for my name..." He grabbed his hood, flinging it back into place on his head. "Well, since you're gonna be seeing me three times a day anyway, you'll get your chance," Rude? Yeah, he knows that. But hey, old habits die hard. "See you in class then, sensei," He turned around, blending into the crowds and ceased to pay any more attention to the man he had made his goal to surpass. Hyakuji's gonna be fun. |
