The road was blanketed by snow. Though not so much as to hinder movement. What's really annoying was the freezing cold. Izumi River never liked searing hot sunny days. That's why he kept his hood on all the time. As shade, you know. But now it's cold. He kept his hood on, anyway. It's frikkin' cold, and he wanted to conserve heat.

But this time he had something else to keep himself warm.

"YOU DAMN BASTARD!!!"

From one of the shops, a restaurant, to be exact, came out a man, literally flying through the air and landed hard on the road. He was quite lucky that the snow cushioned his fall. He got back to his feet, getting read to scamper from the area.

Unluckily for him, his assailant was Izumi 'Raging' River, the young hero from he small city of *censored*, famous for his ruthless method of beating people who annoys him. The moment the man got to his feet, a red circle, complete with sigils and ancient writings, appeared under his feet, glowing a bright ominous red.

5G.

Immediately everything within the perimeter of the circle became five times heavier. The snow was compacted as though there was a circular crusher pressing down on it. At the same time, the man's legs buckled. He fell flat to the ground, gasping for air, crushed by his own weight. While the man was struggling to keep his consciousness, Izumi River walked out of the shop, his hood billowing in the winter wind. His eyes locked onto the man, and immediately walked over to him.

The circle disappeared. The man gasped in huge amount of air, his spinning head slowly regaining senses of the world around him. Before he could even turn around however, Izumi grabbed his shoulder and spun him around, and without warning immediately delivered a powerful fist right at the man's face, breaking his nose.

"You're not getting away for that, asshat,"

"No, please! I'm sorry!"

"No can do, mate,"

He grabbed the man by the collar, twisting him around and slammed him at the wall. The man's feet flailed helplessly above the ground. Under the hood, Izumi grinned menacingly. Clearly, a sign that he's enjoying this.

However, Izumi River soon found himself grasping nothing as the man mysteriously vanished right out of his hands. However, his location would be clear. Just a few feet down the street the man reappeared seated against the front of whatever store happened to be there as Hiro Tsukasa stood between the man and his attacker.

He was dressed in his usual clothes just with the addition of a heavy coat and scarf to try and combat the winter's cold. There was no way he expected to run across a scene like this though. He was just out for a walk on his break from Eldritch Influence and lo and behold he stumbles upon what looked like a student assaulting a random person.

This seemed to be a typical occurrence for Hiro. If he wasn't already on some task involving trouble then the second he stepped beyond some usual routine for a break or a bit of relaxing he usually found himself stumbling right into the center of an even bigger mess. Regardless, he'd take care of this problem right away.

"I don't recognize you so I dunno if you're new here or what," Hiro addressed the hooded boy as he pointed towards him, "But you need to take a cue from the weather and chill out. What did he do to you anyways?" Hiro wasn't beyond reasoning that the man maybe started the confrontation.

But even so, having the power didn't give you the right to utterly crush somebody without them in Hiro's eyes. He'd get to the bottom of this and resolve it. There was no excuse for openly assaulting and beating down a defenseless person in the street during the middle of the day.

True to that. One second he was grasping at the collar of the man. The next second his knuckle slipped through nothingness and knocked the wall. He stood there staring at hs empty hand with a mix of confusion and curiosity. Did the man somehow teleported himself? Est not impossible. He had met three people who could fly and warp about everywhere just a few days ago before he came to Hyakuji.

Although, seems like someone else decided to butt into his litle affair. He turned around with an annoyed face, catching a man in his 20's in his sight. "Doesn't concern you, now does it?" He retorted scathingly, apparently unaware of the man's true identity. Which, would undoubtedly get him into a lot of trouble.

Oh, wait. The trouble came quick. Taking advantage of his savior, the man from before got up from his seat, attempting to tip-toe away from the scene. Too bad for him. Izumi's attention never left him.

"Where do you think you're going, HA!?"

By the last word exclamated, a red circle formed rigt underneath the man's feet, glowing a very bright red. Immediately the man once again fell to his knees, crushed by the five-fold increase in gravity.

"Break..." Hiro Tsukasa mumbled as he outstretched his left arm. A bolt of magical energy shot through the gravity field surrounding the man and struck the red circle cutting it apart and slowly dispelling the magic as he quickly added for the man, "Hurry, get out of here."

His gaze centering directly on the boy, Hiro Tsukasa shifted his left arm and pointed once again towards him. "Listen," he began, "I won't tell you another time after this. You need to chill out. That's a gift you have there, but it doesn't give you the right to terrorize people with it." Given how the situation had gone so far he was pretty certain his words wouldn't get through.

If it came to it, he would let his own powers do the talking but there was no need for that right away. If he were a new student and stopped at this point though at least things could be pretty easily smoothed over. Hiro would've been glad to help someone out like that. But he couldn't forgive senseless rampage downtown.

"If he started it, I'll be more than glad to listen to you vent about it but leave him out of this," Hiro added in a stern tone of concern.

He watched with narrowed eyes as the man nullified his gravity circle. So... he's another one of those so called 'magician', huh? He had never met any other magicians. Well... other than the three that tried to kill him back then, of course. And they were deathly powerful. So much so that his extremely weak perception towards the supernatural actually reacted.

And this guy in front of him tingled his senses. He had the same, no... perhaps even more power than the three combined.

Who the hell is this guy...?

The man, after being freed from his gravity prison, scampered quickly. This time, however, Izumi let him be. He was more interested in the newcomer. Having practically lived under a rock all his life, unaware of others with abilities just like him, he couldn't help but feel interested.

"You sure that's for the best, letting him go just like that?" He said with a smirk. "Leave him out of this, fine. I don't care. Once our little talk is over, I'll hunt him down. I'll make sure he gets what he deserved," He finished, bringing his left hand up to his face and clenched it tightly to maximize the effect of his statement.

"Talk?" Hiro questioned in an annoyed tone, "Talk about what? I have nothing to say to someone that would abuse the gifts they've been given. What did that guy even do to you? Or do you just like picking on people and being a bully to make yourself feel better?" His words became sharper as he continued. This was the one type of person he could find little remorse for.

A part of Hiro wanted to announce who he was but at the same time a curiosity hung in his mind. Would this student really attack anyone in rage? Knowing they were face to face with a teacher one might back down to save themselves future trouble. But if a person really had that much rage it needed to be addressed and taken care of.

He'd keep silent about himself for now and press the situation as he had been. Once he found out a bit more he'd make sure nobody else was hurt and then try to help the kid. Maybe it was a bad life or maybe he was just being a brat drunk on power, but either way there was no excuse for his actions.

"Answer me," Hiro added in a harsh demanding tone.

Hah. This person is interesting. Straight to the point, full of justice and protective of the others, almost like a hero. What, is he this city's hero? He does have the looks, the attitude, the... whatever it was that heroes needed, he kinda forgot. ... No, fancy outfit and quaint nicknames are not the prerequisites of a hero.

"Being demanding, aren't we?" Izumi sparked a snicker from under the hood. He turned around, facing the other direction, showing his back to the man. Hell, he still doesn't know who this guy is. But really, will it even matter if he did? Who knows. But he is curious as to the extent of the man's capability. He came to Hyakuji in search of more people just like him. People with abilities, or so the man put it, gifts. He's not going to back away just yet.

"Well, see, he didn't do anything to me. Not directly, anyway. Picking on people? Specific ones only. So... I guess that means..." He turned around, facing the man through the corner of his eyes with his malevolent grin, "I just don't like him?"

"That's sick," Hiro answered in disgust as he clenched one of his fists, "Kids come to this city to learn to better control their unique powers and use them to help the world; not destroy it." Hiro couldn't believe it. If there had just been some reason, the man was rude or something, he could rationalize it all out. However, this kid seemed to just be a random mass of hate.

"It seems like you'll have a lot to learn," he added, "I'm fine with leaving a warning this time, but if I catch you terrorizing another person with your powers you will regret it." His words held firm and there was a look of strong determination in his eyes. Even if this kid was a student at the school he wouldn't hesitate to put him in his place if he was going to continue hurting people.

Would it mean a pay dock? Maybe. Hiro really didn't care one way or the other. Teachers weren't commonly smiled upon for fighting the students themselves besides extreme circumstances, but he knew some people only seemed to listen when their own force was met with something equal or greater. If he had to talk in this kid's language; he would.

"Sure, sure. Whatever," He turned around and walked off, digging his ear for earwax, leaving the man to his own device. So annoying...

~~Scene Change~~

A sigh was heard as the man from before walked along the sidewalk with relief. He was nearly killed off by a super-powered psycho kid. Why shouldn't he be relieved when Hiro Tsukasa came to save his ass? That said, he unfolded his arm and pulled out from inside his sleeve, a jade necklace.

"Lucky that guy came," He grinned, looking at the necklace with a mixture of glee and excitement. He doesn't know much about jewelry, but he's pretty sure this particular one will fetch quite a price. He walked past shops, past people, and he was certain that the mad kid from before won't be coming after him again. He passed an alleywa-

A hand shot out of nowhere, grabbing him by the collar and yanked him with so much force that he was pulled off his feet. The owner of the hand flung his around, throwing him into the dark alley mercilessly. The man crashed with a yelp, grinding up dirt and soil altogether, dropping the precious stone necklace to the ground.

"I really should have done it like this in the first place. Now there's no one to interrupt our little lecture," The voice came from his assailant, a young boy with a hood over his head, his arms folded and was emitting an aura of wrath. He eyed the groaning man on the ground with eyes full of hate and anger, but his mouth was curled into a smirk.

Realizing the gravity of this situation, the man scrambled to his feet, attempting to escape from Izumi. But before he even managed to take his third step-

A red circle formed under his feet, large enough to cover him completely. The circle glowed a very bright red, and-

The man was once again brought down crashing to his knees, his entire body being crushed by its own weight. He gasped desperately, unable to free himself from the bone crushing prison. The young man idly closed their distance, watching the man slowly being flattened with a sadistic grin. "Learned your lesson yet?"

For the moment it seemed the issue was resolved. Normally, this would have been enough for Hiro to go about his business but something still felt off to him. The kid had been so eager to fight even against total strangers without any knowledge of their abilities should they have any. He didn't want to, especially when he actually had free time for a change, but Hiro began to wander off in the direction the boy had went hoping to follow him and keep an eye on things.

If nothing occurred then he would have wasted it time but his conscious would be clear. Something just wasn't right about the situation though. However, his suspicions were soon validated. He almost would have strolled on past the alley but in the corner of his eye he saw the split second glow of red familiar light. Coming full stop he quickly entered the alleyway to see the same boy from before; once again assaulting the same man with his powers.

"Alright Kid," Hiro spoke in an angry tone and once again casted the same counter spell breaking the gravity field and freeing the man for a second time, "I'm giving you one final chance. Let that guy go and explain to me what's going on or I'm going to fix this once and for all. Either you're from out of town and I'll boot you over the city line myself or you're a student at the school and if that's the case I'll make your life a living hell."

It was costly to use so much counter magic in such a short time, but until he experienced it himself he had no idea of what the exact amount of force the field was putting out. If he hesitated even for a moment trying to talk while the field kept on a regular person might be crushed to death. Even if it was at the cost of rapidly diminishing his own magical energy he couldn't risk someone's life.

"What the... HEY!" Izumi yelled out the moment he turned around, spotting the same man from before once again foiling his... whatever. His prey immediately scambled to his feet, taking a thousand steps per second as far away from the scene as possible out of terror. As for Izumi?

"Why d'you have to mess around with me?" He growled, positively aggravated by the existence of the busybody in front of him. He turned his head around eyeing the scampering man from before. Giving a snort, he turned his attention back to the nosy guy. "Sure, keep up the game of cat and mouse," This guy is seriously getting on his nerve. If he manages to get out of this and continued his pursuit to deal judgement to the guy from earlier, this Hero would just get in his way.

...Get rid of him first.

"You know, you're really starting to get on my nerve," He said with a scathing voice, glaring at the hero with cold eyes.

Maroon lights traced around the alley...

"This is my business,"

The lights began connecting with each other, forming scriptures and symbols encased in a big blood-red circle...

"My problem, so I will take care of it,"

A gigantic magic circle formed within the alley, covering the hero in a ten meter diameter gravity prison that only waits for his order...

"So, get lost," He said cheerfully, giving an ominously innocent smile. The circle shone brightly.

5G.

"Well, excuse me but people abusing their powers in Hyakuji happens to be my business," Hiro retorted confidently as the spell circle expanded out around him. It was too soon for another counter spell so Hiro could do nothing more but endure the pain of the sudden force of gravity crushing down around him. Initially, he cried out in pain but this quickly subsided as he felt the ground beneath his feet crack and give in slightly.

"Man," Hiro spoke struggling to speak against the pain of the crushing sensation, "You know kid, this is a really bad way to start a relationship with one of your teachers." His eyes glancing around rapidly, he attempted to size up the best course for the current situation. Even if he wanted to cast a spell it would be slow to make any movements and the delay would most certainly telecast his actions to the boy giving him a chance to act in retaliation before he ever got the spell off.

"If I can't move... I'll just have to let someone that can move for me," Hiro continued as he winced in pain, "Per....so....na..." As he mumbled these three syllables an aura of blue energy exploded up around his body and slowly a figure drifted up and out of his body.

"Go, Simon," Hiro commanded as his persona rushed forth towards the boy seemingly unaffected by the gravity field, "AGIDYNE!" As he pulled close the persona echoed the single word uttered by Hiro as he held forth his hands and shot forth a magical blast of exploding searing flames directly at Izumi.

Incredible. He's stronger than he looks, thought the hooded boy as he bent down to pick up the necklace dropped by the man from before. Well, it was his to begin with. He straightened up, tucking the necklace back into his pocket, staring at the hero as he glanced around for something. And damn, he's still holding up! Any normal person would have been unconscious by now.

As he pondered whether he should raise the bar for him, stroking his chin and turning around the spot like some obsessed detective, out from the corner of his eyes he saw an explosive blue aura, uh... exploding from the hero, and a figure materializes from his body.

All of a sudden Izumi felt a sharp and piercing stab through his guts. Not the literal kind. It's a metaphor. And indication of just how much magic energy the figure was emitting. Incredibly dense, and rediculously powerful, it was enough to stagger his spirit. Izumi frowned slightly, watching the hero with great curiosity. Just who the hell...?

Even as he continues to ponder, the hero have already made his move, commanding the figure towards Izumi, blasting off a massive stream of red-hot flames from its hands. Usually normal fires don't trigger his senses, but this one was practically spiked with magical energy. And it's powerful. Very powerful. Touch that and you're pretty much dead. Izumi retaliated by casting a large Barrier Circle, a mix of Magic and Elemental Barrier. The magical fire was diverted off by the brightly glowing magic circle, Izumi stood there behind it, watching the flames fork off as it attempts to burn through the-

Crack.

His eyes widened in shock as cracks began to form through the whole circle. Pieces of the barrier started to fall off, and jets of flames shot through the gaps, some of it singed through his jacket and hair. This is bad... Izumi casted yet another Magic-Elemental Barrier behind the first one, just in time to see the first one shatter brilliantly like glass. The magical flame bathed the second one, its power barely diminished. Cracks began to form on it, and grits of the caster's teeth can be heard. What the hell...?! This is not good.

He deactivated the Gravity Circle, letting the red inscription below the hero's feet dissolve to nothingness, lifting the magical energy pressing down on his body. He had to do it, because it's constantly draining his energy. And he NEEDS it for THIS! As the Magic-Elemental Barrier broke into thousands of tiny pieces with a loud shattering noise, Izumi had already casted yet another circle. A big, thick and black one, and All-Purpose Barrier. He had poured everything into this one, determined to stop the flame dead on its track. Well, the barrier didn't crack this time, but the magical flame managed to actually push it, shove it back towards Izumi at high speed, causing it to collide with the hooded boy who had lifted his hand to hold it in place. With futility, as the black barrier quite literally smashed into him, causing him to be swept off from his foot, flying all the way across the streets and smashing into a fruit stall, sending carrots, apples, rotten tomatoes, woods, cardboard boxes, and a terrified middle-aged lady flying everywhere.

He groaned slightly, pushing himself back up to his feet, rubbing at the bump behind his head. This guy is... seriously more than powerful. And for some strange reason, he smirked. "I see... so, is this considered a fight?"

Hiro watched, still straining in pain, with interest as the boy created a barrier that was giving off clear magical energies to deal with Simon's Agidyne spell. His interest grew greater, a smirk growing across his lips, as he saw the barrier actually hold for a moment before cracking. He could never say this kid wasn't determined.

He let out a sigh of relief as the gravity field vanished. It was the same reason he hadn't counter-spelled the field; the kid needed to conserve all his magic for the time being. Eventually, Hiro watched as the boy was shot back from the force of Agidyne and he let out a sigh as he saw the collateral damage as a result. It wouldn't be a pay dock, but he'd be paying for it and thus losing money all the same.

Hiro Tsukasa emerged from the alley to face the boy, Simon floating overhead mimicking his movements, and laughed softly. "I don't want to fight you," he answered, "Especially not here in the middle of town. You have a lot of potential. I think you would benefit more from being on my good side since I'm both a teacher at the school and we deal in the same type of power."

"But it's your call," he added with a laugh as he crossed his arms slowly. It was a long shot, but Hiro wanted to reason as much as he could. However, he still knew there might be no way to avoid a fight. For some people, the best way to talk was with your fists. He had been that way, once, long ago and for a split second he almost felt as if he were staring down his younger self.

"Well, I'm not really the kind of guy to bail myself out from something I started," He straightened up, brushing off some of the debris that got on him. A teacher, he said? And for some reason, there was no fear, there was no anxiety, just the hard-boiled sensation of adrenalin surging through his entire body. This was just like the time when he had to survive the three super-powered assassins from who-knows-where just before he came to this city. Of course, back then he WAS a bit scared. They were aiming to kill him without any mercy whatsoever. But right here, right now, the man in front of him might as well have issued a challenge.

And it wasn't something he could just deny. Standing there was someone whom he could FINALLY go all out without having to worry about killing him at all. Well, not that he actually WANTED to kill him. I mean, isn't it normal for a combat-enthusiast to be thrilled at meeting someone who would actually pose a challenge at defeating? First day here and he's already found something that might as well keep himself hooked to this place.

"You wouldn't mind if I ask for a little duel, now would ya?" He said, interlocking his fingers and snapping them. "Since I'm a pretty stubborn kid and the only way to discipline me is through something a little bit more hands on," Read: How about a little fight? "Don't worry, I'll try to keep collateral damage to a minimum," Of course, one would have to define 'minimum' for him first.

He never waited for any answer, though. As he immediately took a horse stance, placing his left fist in front of him just below chest level and his right fist close to his torso. Of course, that's all just for show, as he, in a flash, dug his feet into the ground, pushing and propelling himself forward at high speed right at the proclaimed teacher. With some pretty vague reasoning taken from video games and all, magicians are usually considered to be some high-powered artillery, excelling at long range decimation of their opponents. And he's applying such vague knowledge to this man right in front of him.

Of course, his only intention was to charge ahead, not to make any true offensive move against him yet. What? He wanted to know how this mage handles a fight being brought to close-quarter.

Not.

His right fist was pulled back, over it was casted a small and dense Magic-Physical Barrier, intending to break through any implemented magic defense he might have and to provide some extra damage if the fist that swung out manages to hit him squarely at his solar plexus.
