"Sure I can show you around. That is if I don't wear you out first," Hiro answered cheerfully as he finished off his shake. He was well aware of the suggestive manner in which his words came out. Confusion or not he was certainly slipping back into his usual self instead of the reserved caution he had been using initially.

As their waitress returned they both made their orders. Slowly, as they continued their small talk the time passed. It wasn't long before their meals were brought out and their date continued peacefully. As they ate Hiro explained a bit more about the school and his position there while learning a bit more about Clarissa.

Finally, what felt like only a short time from all their conversation, the two exited the restaurant into the cool night air of the city. "That was really good," Hiro commented cheerfully, "I've been so busy I haven't really went to any restaurants in a while."

"Now," he continued as he turned around and gave Clarissa a wide grin, "On to the main event. Where shall we do the deed?" Keeping suggestive as ever Hiro laughed in a playful manner. Flamboyantly showing off his magic without regard for any true danger just to make a point; it was exactly the kind of activity Hiro enjoyed to wrap up a day.

"Oh wear me out, hmm? I think I'll be alright.", Clarissa said playfully before their date got further on its way.

The dinner was fun and filled with polite conversation and playful flirting as if the two weren't going to fight shortly after. The meal was delicious but there was something that made this more fun then Clarissa thought it was going to be...Hiro. She believed him...but still wanted to see what she was dealing with. She could see a lot about a magician from even the simpliest spells in their arsenal and how they casted them. She was excited actually to see what he was REALLY about. Words were great but she was always a hands-on learner...

"That was really good," Hiro commented cheerfully, "I've been so busy I haven't really went to any restaurants in a while."

"Aww...That's a shame. All work and no play makes a young magician boring.", Clarissa said with a playful smile before giving Hiro a little poke on his chest gently.

Then he came right out with it and asked where they were going to go at it. Clarissa smiled and laughed at bit at the way Hiro just stated it but she knew what he meant. She thought it would be best in a place that was wide open and free of obstacles and innocents. From what Clarissa had seen of Hyakuji...The park at this hour would be the best bet. It should be empty and it had many field-like spots for them to go at it. If Clarissa was reading into Hiro correctly...this battle wouldn't take very long either.

"The park. Its close to here and wide open. Wouldn't want something to get in our way.", She said with a smile, taking Hiro by the arm by wrapping her's around his.

"Well...Shall we?"

"The park would be perfect," Hiro commented cheerfully as she let him take his arm and the duo walked on together in the direction of their battleground. The park was a frequent area for fights to start with and it was one of Hiro's favorite spots. Not that he constantly sought battle but when chasing some monster it was his first choice to run it there so no buildings could be harmed.

"In advance," Hiro continued as he pulled Clarissa closer against himself as they walked, "I want you to go all out, okay? Don't pull any punches at all; I can handle it. And if I can't, then I deserve to die for lying to such a beautiful woman." He was still joking around, but his sentiment was serious. If she wanted to test him then he didn't want an easy challenge.

As they reached closer to the park, Hiro let out a short sigh. In some ways, the current situation was reminding him of the night he met Lillian. She too had wanted him to prove his abilities with Magic. In going overboard with doing so he set about a chain of events that kept causing problems down the line for quite some time. And some of the mistakes it brought about, like Kurayami Fuzen, were still around.

Reaching the center of the park, Hiro slipped from her arm and walked away until there was a decent amount of space between them. Turning around Hiro stretched slowly as he let out a bit of yawn. "Alright, Miss Florence," he laughed in an eager tone, "Pretty sure you get that I try to be all old school and gentlemanly by this point. so ladies first." It was finally time for the main event of their date. Which was oddly going to be a fight. Still, all things considered it had been a pretty fun night so far.

"I never hold back and I wish the same for you...but don't try to hurt me too bad alright.", Clarissa said with a small giggle at the end of her sentence before stepping a bit ways away from Hiro before turning to face him.

Ladies first hmm? Well...She wouldnt want to dissapoint at all, especially not on a date. Clarissa took Balacroft into her left hand and with a quick gesture, the book swung open and floated in front of her. A plain circle appeared below her, the radius about a three person length away from her all around as she lit up slightly under the focus of her magic. She would begin now...holding nothing back against an opponent even if he was as polite, kind, and handsome as Hiro.

"Begin...", Clarissa said as her face changed from the polite and gentle smile from before to the focused and talented sorceress she was.

"Swords of cold and darkness, free yourself from the heaven's bonds and become one with my power...SWORD IRIS!", Clarissa muttered quickly, shaking the foundation below her as the magic circle appeared around her, lighting up before launching tendrils of shadows towards Hiro with deadly speed and precision.

Clarissa watched them weave in and out of each other making a tendrils sharpen as they neared Hiro. She was aiming to kill...Not maim or play. He asked her to go all out and she had all the faith in the world he wasn't playing when he said this. He wanted to prove to her entirely of his strength. That even at her strongest and hardest, she wasn't up to his level...and she was all to eager to see it too...

"Show me Hiro! Show me everything!", She said as her hair and clothing flowed about her under the strain of her magic that edged closer and closer to her date with each passing moment.

"Do you always ask to see it all on the first date?" Hiro questioned playfully as he made no attempts to act on his own and merely watch her opening attack be cast and the launched forth. It was an interesting spell and certainly something beyond what a novice would use. Even if she hadn't attended Hyakuji she was clearly on a good level from whatever methods she had trained to this point.

As the tendrils got closer Hiro did nothing at all besides laugh softly; not even attempt to throw up a barrier. When it seemed like he might take the brunt of the attack head on, at the last moment he vanished as the tendrils rushed through the few seconds of left over after-image. Before Clarissa would have time to realize what had happened, Hiro reappeared from his teleportation spell directly behind her.

Stepping forward he grasped her by the arms and pulled her back against his body like in some sort of reverse hug as he laughed again. "That was good," he commented, "But way too slow. I dunno if it's even worth my time to make a counter attack if that's all you can do..." He let his words trail off slowly in a disappointed tone. In truth, her efforts had been impressive enough. However, he knew well from training people in Arcadia that with the right push even more potential could be brought forth.

Clarissa was surprised at his talents and speed...she wasn't sure if that was magic or simply his own physical speed and this made a smile appear on her face as he hugged her. He was playing around obviously if he had the nerve to step inside her circle so nonchalantly without even the slightest worry. She had her own surprises...even if she wasn't up to his level, she wouldn't allow this to get boring.

"Well...Who said my spell was finished? And you're standing inside my circle sweetheart...", Clarissa said with a gentle smile before the entire circle erupted into shadows, blowing upward and out, only missing the smallest of outlines around her own body.

If Hiro didn't move, he would have been torn apart by the shadows but Clarissa had a feeling he wouldn't fall prey to such an attack...not completely or not at all. The shadow pillar would then pour out into tendrils and fan out to search where Hiro would be after, continuing it's assault upon him but she wouldn't show Hiro she couldn't keep this attack up for too long. She needed to show him she wasn't weak herself as well...

"You're not fun at all," Hiro laughed as he shook his head slowly while quickly letting go of Clarissa's body. As more shadow tendrils shot forth from the ground Hiro jumped and then cast a barrier out from his hand. As each tendril rose and impacted the barrier the force continued to push him higher and higher into the air above Clarissa while still more tendrils were being summoned.

"Now I'll be serious," Hiro assured her as he dispelled the barrier and dodged the closest wave of tendrils by shifting over to the side. As he began to fall back down, coming head on towards the next wave, he began to chant aloud, "Darkness beyond the twilight, crimson beyond blood that flows. Buried in the flow of time, in your great name here I make a vow to darkness. To the fools who stand before us, merge thine strength and mine to deliver destruction to all equally!!"

"DRAGON SLAVE!!!!" As Hiro shouted at the top of his lungs and held forth his right arm an explosion of magical energy rushed forth. The blast easily engulfed and overpowered the shadow tendrils and continued rushing on with all intents to impact the ground with Clarissa dead center if she didn't take action. If she didn't dodge or do something Hiro was already prepared to cover the situation so she wouldn't be harmed, but hopefully things wouldn't wrap up that soon.

"That...That's amazing..."

Now this was what she had asked for. Hiro's spells was one of the most intense magical energies she had ever seen if not the most ever. She had only only one option in even attempting to shield and survive the spell he had fired and she wasn't even sure if the attempt to do so was worth the risk...but she came here to fight seriously and Hiro had pushed her to where she needed to do this...

"Grant me strength traitorous devil of the forgotten fold, Embody my heart and soul and become one with my power...The Scarlet Devil!!", Clarissa said, summoning forth the Embody: The Scarlet Devil Circle but quickly uttering her defense against Hiro's Dragon Slave with it's added strength.

"Eternal Sanctuary, Divine Light, Shield me from those who wish me harm and repel my foes with your holy strength!...SHOUSEN BODA!", Clarissa finished and with the added strength of the Scarlet Devil, her spell formed beneath her with incredible force as her magical shield appeared to confront Hiro's spell head on.

As the two spells clashed, the area around Clarissa shattered leaving a pedestal where her magic circle lied. Her body shook under the pressure and even with the Scarlet Devil's power aiding her, something like Hiro's magic spell was nothing she had to shield before. She wouldn't give up though...Not yet. She just prayed that this confrontation of their powers would end soon. Her body wouldn't be able to keep this up for much longer.

"Impressive," Hiro remarked as he watched the Dragon Slave clashing against the barrier Clarissa had thrown up. The fact it was even holding at all proved her as being quite competent. However, despite her efforts it was clear the shield couldn't last. As the Dragon Slave rested on the barrier trying to push through, slowly, cracks began to appear and grow out from the center of the spell barrier.

Classifying it as good enough Hiro ended the spell and as his descent from the air began again he moved on to the next step, "I summon you, Tyrfing, The Sword of Sorcery!" In a flash of bright light Hiro's soul weapon materialized in his grasp. Falling towards Clarissa's barrier he slashed at it forcing it to break and shatter apart as the blade its narrowly missed her body.

"Huh, that was supposed to be the kill," Hiro commented with a laugh as he rose to stand before her, "Guess I missed~" Of course, in truth, he had avoided her on purpose. Even if he were proving himself to the woman, he had zero intention to directly hurt her in any way. Laughing again he hopped back, sword held ready, as he put some space between them again.

She lost...for the first time in a long time. She was completely outmatched by Hiro and the flurry of attacks that shattered her Boda Shield was proof enough. With the shield shattered, even with the Scarlet Devil's powers backing it, Clarissa was spent. She fell to her knees as her magic circles dissipated beneath her. Balacroft closed and slammed onto the floor in front of her and she couldn't help but giggle a bit at Hiro's strength. He was obviously the person he said he was, even if she had little doubt before. That doubt was now quickly expelled and she was glad to see she put her trust in him.

"Lucky me you missed...", She said with a small giggle before shaking a bit as she stood up.

Her mental body was spent but physically she was alright. It was the wonders of a magical battle. She took Balacroft and hooked it to her side once more before dusting herself off and fixing her hair quickly before strolling over to Hiro as if they didn't just battle...and leave a crater in the park.

"You can put your sword away now. It's impressive but I bet you whip it out at every female opponent you face.", She said playfully before patting the young magician on the chest.

"So, Now what Hiro?", She said before sticking her tongue out teasingly.

At her comment about his sword Hiro stuck his tongue out laughing before tossing Tyrfing into the air and dispelling it. "It's too bad," Hiro shook his head slowly, "Do you always finish first and leave the guy wanting more?" Even if the battle stopped, his teasing couldn't let up just yet.

"You did good though," Hiro added sounding just a bit more serious, "With the right training you could be a really expert spellcaster." The way the book had seemed when she flipped to it seemed to suggest that as her skill increased so too would the spells available in the tome. In that respect, Hiro almost wanted to train her himself if only just to see what secrets the grimoire itself held.

"As for what now," he added as he began to walk towards the park exit and motion for her to follow, "Let's head back to the bookstore. I need to show you our base of operations for Arcadia..." It probably sounded odd to her. There was no logical way the tiny bookstore would work as their base.

He didn't know if she would suspect a gateway rested there for a pocket dimension where an entire vast mansion existed; most didn't. Ultimately, it was the perfect hideout. Nobody would suspect or reason something like that could be hidden with access via the store.

"We could go again if that wasn't enough. I just need to catch my breath after...that. You're on another level when it comes to magic. That I'm positive of.", Clarissa said playfully at Hiro's remark while pointing at the crater in the park caused by both of their spells clashing.

"But as for normally finishing first, That's just for me to know and you to attempt to find out, hmm?", She finished, fixing up Hiro's attire a bit as well by dusting it off and fixing his collar.

Then he went on telling her she could be an expert spellcaster and that meant something coming from him. If she could even muster some of what he showed in battle, she'd be happier. Normally, if someone said that, she'd slap them two ways to Sunday but she respected Hiro as a magician. Everyone should if they just saw what she did.

"Arcadia...In the bookstore?", Clarissa said with a puzzled look on her face.

This look wasn't because she didn't believe it...but because she wondered how. Was it underground? Was it in a magic closet dimension? Was it in Hiro's Pocket? She was a magic researcher so these things were ordinary to her but she was always curious to find out how things were what they were, especially the things circulating around magic.

"So we're up for another walk. This is becoming quite the multi-leveled date. Quite the charmer you are. Dinner, battle, quiet walks through the park...What else I wonder?", She said playfully with a smile before giggling a bit at her own words.

She did enjoy teasing this one...that's for sure.

Hiro laughed and shook his head slowly at Clarissa's retort against his own words. She certainly was never at a loss no matter what inane comment he managed to toss out at her. Giving her a friendly grin as she straightened up his clothing he held out his arm for her to take as they exited the park.

"Well, if you're tired or something I can walk you home," Hiro replied, "But I thought you might want to see Arcadia's HQ first. I'm sure it will interest you... plus it'll prove me beyond a shadow of a doubt, right?" He was sure she already had no doubts, but the concept itself was funny. He had become so accustomed to staying in Hyakuji where everyone knew him that meeting new people who had zero clue who he was felt odd now.

The walk back to the shop felt rather short. More small talk between the two passed the time easily and it wasn't long before he was holding open the unlocked door to Eldritch Influence for her to pass through. Once inside, he motioned for her to follow him into the back room. "Back here is where I keep the more dangerous stuff not sold to regular customers," he explained, "Or stuff that I've not properly identified... but also..."

Slowly, he pointed towards one wall in the back room that didn't have much clutter before it. Instead, the wall was covered with some promotional poster from the Duel Monster card game which, if Clarissa had been paying careful attention, she would have noticed being sold at the front counter. "Come on," Hiro added, "It's easier just to see it." Laughing a little he stepped forward towards the wall and then vanished into it.

Once Clarissa followed she would find herself in the Pocket Dimension on the large chunk of ground facing Arcadia's Mansion. Other than the building itself there were no real features to the land and in the distance beyond the island-like land there was nothing but infinite black stretching in all directions.

"I'm alright. Not too tired to end our evening so soon.", Clarissa said with a pleasant smile before gripping Hiro's arm once more.

"Thanks for worrying about me though. That's very sweet of you.", she said with a bit of sarcasm being they just had a fight but also meaning her words in the same instance.

She hadn't ever met someone like him and being a researcher, Clarissa thought she had met every kind of man let alone magician. She was begining to think that coming here was a wonderful idea. She was excited for the first time in a long time to see what this organization had in store for her...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After arriving back at the shop, Clarissa followed her way into the store and the back room. She peaked around quickly to see what she could, noticing both legendary magical items and unidentifable ones even for Clarissa's profession. She was about to ask some questions about some of the artifacts but...Hiro went through the wall.
"So that's how...", Clarissa said, entering behind Hiro shortly after him.
The mansion was quite impressive but the place it was kept in was even more so. The magic used to keep this place afloat must be incredible. She smiled and walked closer to Hiro before giving the area another look.
"What?...No Stars?"; She said teasingly at the black pitch all around her.
"This is amazing Hiro, honestly. I can't wait for you to show me around. I've only seen such a thing once before and that was the magic school that was suspended out of our dimension much like this. Its the best way to keep secret from the outside.", Clarissa said before closing the gap between her and Hiro.
"Really impressive..."
"Thank you," Hiro spoke in a slightly embarrassed tone, "I suppose I could liven up the outside one day." It was just something functional that most people never looked over again. It was weird to be praised for the set-up. He'd never considered it before but stars might be a good idea. If nothing else at least to make the place feel more welcoming since more and more of his time began to be spent there.
As the two stepped forward he held open the door to the mansion and let her enter first. Shutting it back behind them he proceeded to give her a quick tour of the main points of the mansion as he explained things further to her.
"So," he continued, "Aside from a lot of regular rooms we have an area for sparing and practicing combat... a vast library of occult texts for reference on any issues that come up... we have a pretty big R&D department that's devoted to researching new stuff to help the Fire Division in combat."
"And this," he concluded as the entered the vast control center, "Is sort of our main hub for things. The Arcadians here monitor supernatural activity in the city and this is also where we brief Fire Division for their missions."
