"-and three 21' plasma tv with integrated touch screen. I'll pay in cash."

Lifting a heavy metal suitcase he had next to him, he placed it on the counter and said, "50 million yen. Keep the change," and he's off, trying to figure out how to get all the bought goods to his dormitory and wondering where the computer section was.

Here's Alex at the shopping mall, doing what we would call 'shopping'. He's looking for something to transform his dinky old dorm room to a miniature version of his control station back home. He's pretty much gotten everything he needed, but he couldn't seem to be able to find the computer section. At this moment he thought it would be nice to be tall. That way he can just peek over the shelves to look for anything he needed. He grumbled as he made his way around, his head barely touching half the shelf's height. Hmm...? Is that...

"Hey, Jonny. What are you doing here?" Alex greeted his fellow cooking classmate.

(Ooc: I'm not sure how much is considered expensive in Japan. Is 50 mil considered a lot?)

"Careful there, Yuki-chan! It looks like a burn to me," Selene called out in caution when Yuki picked up the boy's hand in curious concern.

Much like a child who recoils after a parent says "hot!" to stop him or her from touching a stove, Yuki immediately brought her hands away from Sokkenai's and pulled them in close to her body almost as if she had a near miss with being burned. Noticing the slightly pained expression on the boy's face from the brief contact they made, Yuki decided it was probably best if she "kept her hands to herself."

"I'm sorry, Sokkenai-kun...I didn't know," she responded to her action with a small frown and brief feeling of remorse. The girl then watched in awe as he engulfed his injured hand in a layer of ice, imagining this was done to help numb the pain. She was glad to hear of the change in topic when Sokkenai clarified the reason for coming to the appliance store.

"Err I...I kind of need a new stove the old one..... broke," the blue-haired boy managed to say in response to Yuki's inquiry on the reason for his visit. The girl smiled at this statement, not necessarily glad his old one broke, but moreso happy to hear they were shopping for similar reasons.

"We're all here getting stuff for our dorms! If you don't have any other plans I think it would be fun if you joined us," Yuki suggested as she shifted her purse from one shoulder to the other.

While the group chatted, it looked like Jonny had taken it upon himself to complete his trip in the home appliance store. He had finally selected the cooking appliance he wanted, Yuki nodding her approval (if it counted for anything), and him heading over to the cash register. The pink-haired girl glanced back over at the rice cooker aisle with a finalized look until she saw a separate display off to the side that she had not seen before.

SALE! 50% OFF!
Stacked in a neat exhibit were a bunch of smaller rice cookers that looked to serve about 4-6 people. Typically a nicer brand, the slash in price actually made it affordable. It ranged in about four or five different colors, and much to Yuki's surprise, pink was one of these options. She nearly created a trail of flames behind her as she rushed to the display, snatching up one of the mini cookers and hugging it close with tears in her eyes.

"At last...my search is over!" The girl then thrust the box over her head in victory, hopping up and down as she called out from across the store. "Selene-saaaaan! I found it!" Yuki then scurried over to the register, the largest of grins spread across her face, and got in line behind Jonny who had just been noticed by another customer in the store. Hey, wasn't that...

Wait. Wait a minute. Was that guy working the counter going through and counting a suitcase of money? Who pays for stuff in suitcases of money??

"Sokkenai-kun... you're a frost magus?" Selene queried as the blue-haired boy conjured a block of ice and applied it to his injured hand, obviously still a mite sensitive due to his burn, and from the boy's expression it certainly stung quite a bit when Yuki touched it. A rather utilitarian application of ice magic, the corporate heiress thought, as Sokkenai explained that he was here to get a new stove after his old one broke.

"Well, looks like destiny brought us all together for the same thing," Selene chuckled; talk about coincidences!

"We're all here getting stuff for our dorms! If you don't have any other plans I think it would be fun if you joined us," Yuki added, while Selene nodded at the pink-haired girl's suggestion.

"They're new friends I made recently, and I figured it was a good way to build up our friendships with some shopping," Selene continued while Jonny found an oven to go along with the hob. While the kitchenette that comes with the dorms was meant for students to make light meals in the style of a pantry, with Jonny he'd effectively turned the one in his dorm into a proper kitchen, fit for preparing square meals. Selene figured that Jonny must be quite the connoisseur as well when it comes to food.

"At last...my search is over!" Selene looked over in Yuki's direction as she caught sight of the pink-haired girl across the store with a box held triumphantly above her head, a sugary grin plastered broadly across her face as she scurried down the aisle towards the cash register. "Selene-saaaaan! I found it!" The corporate heiress glanced at where Yuki got the rice cooker, and noticed that it was one of the nicer brands out there, though still not as high-end as the one she'd first run into, being sold at a discount price.

"Looks like all's well ends well," Selene commented, feeling happy for her friends as she made her way over to Yuki's side, who'd taken up a place in the queue behind Jonny. The corporate heiress watched, with growing curiosity as another guy nearby was paying for a generous purchase of various high-end appliances including three 21-inch plasma TV's with integrated touch screen systems.

"Jonny, Yuki-chan," Selene called out, a smile crossing her face as she gestured towards Alex's direction. She'd known the boy from their lunch time the other day at the lake side. "It looks like another one of our acquaintances... shall we head over to say hello?" the corporate heiress suggested.

As Yuki apologized for hurting his hand Sokkenai replied saying "It's okay, it was just an accident" Even if it did hurt it would be rude to go off at Yuki for just showing some concern over his own safety.

In response to the comments about his powers he nodded before replying and saying "Y-yes, I can form ice from the moisture in the air and control the ice, i-it is a very useful abillity for everyday purposes if someone knows how." Sokkenai probably knew this better then anyone using Ice for a lot of stuff that most people wouldn't normally use it for.

When Yuki offered to have Sokkenai join them when looking for stuff around the dorms he smiled and said "I-i'd be glad to." He probably could buy a few other things that he could use to make his dorm look that much better, apart from the lack of a stove everything else was quite normal and it wouldn't hurt to make the dorm look a little better, at least better then it was currently looking.

Suddenly Yuki rushed off and in confusion Sokkenai watched where she was going and chuckled when she was hugging a pink rice cooker. Suddenly realizing he also had to go buy a stove. He went and looked at a nearby stove examining the price, while it was a bit expensive Sokkenai had enough money to get it.

"This will do me, I think" As he walked over and stood behind Yuki as well then watched curiously as someone came up and started talking to Jonny apparently knowing him from cooking class. Sokkenai watched to see how this would eventually turn out.

"Hey, Jonny. What are you doing here?" Jonny looked up to see none other than Alex Fin approaching.
"Yo Alex - guess everyone is buying something today huh?" He said, pointing over his shoulder towards the others. No sense really in hiding the fact they were here or anything. That and Alex did seem to be of the fairly perceptive type.

Seeing that a space on the counter was free, he approached it, giving the details as to which pieces he wanted to buy. With that done, the man working at the counter pulled out the PINpad, Jonny putting in his card as he entered the number. The money was withdrawn from the account, and the purchases made.
"Thanks." He said, writing down the address of the school and dorm room, so that the delivery could be made easily.

With that, he headed for the entrance, waiting for the others to be done with their shopping also, assuming they were going to buy something.

"Buying something, huh?" Alex pondered as he watched another fellow acquaintance, Yuki Tsukiyoru, cheering and holding a pink rice cooker high up in the air like a trophy. "I can see that..."

He already greeted Jonny, he might as well greet the rest of his party. Had they been strangers, he would be happier to just ignore them. He recognized another one from his group. The daughter of the Frostfire family, heir to the giant industrial company, Selene Frostfire. It's hard to keep a low profile when you share the same last name as a giant industrial corporation, even more so when people know your face. But who cares about that; He knows her, she knows him. And it is very imprudent not to at least say hi to someone you know when they notices you.

"Hi Selene, Yuki. Jonny said you were all here to shop for something. Speaking of which, you must have came here a lot, right Selene? Do you know where the computer section is? ... What's wrong?" He asked Yuki, only just noticing the startled look on her face, "Oh, su~re, it must be strange for someone NOT to use cards to pay huge sums of money," Alex said scathingly, apparently offended for reasons only he knew, "Humph! I'll have you know banks are much easier to break than most people thought! When people store money in banks they're practically turning hard-physical cash to computer data, to encrypted information. And by the right person, the information can be decrypted, reconstructed, remade, so the ownership of the money can be transferred to anyone in this whole wide world. What's worse, ANYONE can be the right person. Which is why, I don't keep moneys in bank. Keep them at home. Guard them with your own two iron fist, the most trusty guardian you can have," He finished his long pointless rant by slamming his two knuckles together. The chagrin from before evaporated, and was replaced by an aura of pride.

"What about you?"
he directed his question to the unknown blue haired boy, "I hope you do not rely too much on other people to keep your valuable belongings safe. Only a mere minority of people in this world can truly be trusted,"

Yuki held onto her pending purchase and smiled brightly as Selene walked up next to her in line. Apparently she already had whatever she needed, or she would probably come back and get it at a later time. Soon enough Sokkenai was standing behind the two girls with his own items and the group was once again reunited within a ten-foot radius. While Yuki stood behind Jonny in line she watched him as he finished up paying for his appliances then stepped to the side to allow her to move up. As this occurred, the two boys spoke with each other, and she was inwardly relieved that Jonny used his name as she just wasn't able to place it at the time. Of course, the girl was still in shock at the huge sum of cash still being counted by one of the employees, at least until someone snapped her out of it.

"What's wrong?" asked Alex in Yuki's direction, making her jump slightly and swivel her head toward him as if she was looking at something she shouldn't have.

"Oh, nothing! It's just--"

"Oh, su~re, it must be strange for someone NOT to use cards to pay huge sums of money." What was with the attitude, as if she was the one who had lived under a rock her whole life and had no idea how people paid for stuff when they shopped? Of COURSE it was strange to carry in a giant briefcase of money. Then he continued.

"Humph! I'll have you know banks are much easier to break than most people thought! When people store money in banks..."

As the boy continued his explanation and defense of his actions, Yuki proceeded to give him a deer-in-headlights look that signified she was A) not understanding all of this technical mumbo-jumbo about hacking into banks, and B) had no idea where this long explanation came from in the first place, and wasn't sure how to interpret it.

As he continued to go on, she placed her rice cooker on the counter, slowly pulled out her wallet, and produced the paper notes to pay for her item, giving him a few "oh sure, I completely understand!" nods as he spoke, although quite the opposite was true. She received her change from the cashier and thanked him before returning the slip she had also filled out for the dorm delivery. Yuki then breathed a sigh of relief as Alex moved his attention over to Sokkenai, although she was a bit concerned that the boy's forward and more aggressive nature would overwhelm their new group member.

Once the air space was cleared, Yuki grabbed the opportunity to insert her comment in between the asset discussion. "So! Once Sokkenai's done, where are we off to next?" she asked no one in particular.

"Well met, Alex," Selene smiled and nodded as Alex greeted her and her group of friends. "Well, not as often as you might think," the corporate heiress replied, somewhat curious as to why he'd be bringing that much in cold hard cash to do his shopping - for such huge purchases, wouldn't debit or credit cards be more practical?

As if he'd been anticipating Selene's question, Alex then proceeded to deliver his speech about the fallibility of electronic banking systems that the world had come to rely on, and his skepticism towards keeping cold hard cash in banks. Selene glanced over to Jonny, Sokkenai and Yuki, who for the most part didn't seem interested in what Alex had to say.

"And how many people do you know of happen to be master hackers that are capable of hacking into the data networks of say, the CIA Or MI6? Don't you know it'd take hackers of such caliber to hack into the world's banking network?" The corporate heiress queried. Truth be told, Selene took a slight offense at Alex's bit about the dangers of placing one's money in banks, partially due to how being a major player in information technology, Frostfire Industries had programmers who wrote some of the most sophisticated firewalls and network security protocols used by major corporations and government institutions worldwide.

"I hope you do not rely too much on other people to keep your valuable belongings safe. Only a mere minority of people in this world can truly be trusted," Alex's closing statement was directed at Sokkenai.

"That's Sokkenai-kun for you, Alex; and at least get to know the others' names, would you?" Selene added with a huff. "And I think I'm beginning to get the picture..." That boy was certainly a mite paranoid, Selene had to give him that. But with his attitude, she wasn't surprised that he'd alienated himself from others, which in turn appears to put him on the defensive, perpetuating a vicious cycle of perceived hostility and paranoia.

"If you learn to just get off your high horse for once and get to know people better, they might just like you better," Selene rebutted. "And when everyone you run into around the next corner isn't looking to, well, box you in your mug I think overall you'd at least realize that people aren't so bad and that they are in fact more reliable than you give them credit for."

"So! Once Sokkenai's done, where are we off to next?" Came Yuki's interjection, not directed at anyone in particular. Selene however, took the chance to respond, seeing it as a desired distraction from talking to Alex.

"So, anyone still needing appliances?" Selene asked as she scanned the circle of faces, Sokkenai, Yuki, Jonny and Alex. "Or how about getting some decorations and other accessories to liven up our living quarters once Sokkenai-kun is done getting his stove?" the corporate heiress suggested.

As Sokkenai found out that the new person's name was Alex he continued watching the event that was folding out in front of him and from Alex's attitude he probably wasn't a person who was able to control their temper but that was just what he had seen so far.

"I hope you do not rely too much on other people to keep your valuable belongings safe. Only a mere minority of people in this world can truly be trusted," Seeing as this was directed at himself Sokkenai carefully thought over his answer to try and keep this arguement from escalating further.

"W-well, both ways can work from how I see it. For example there are some people in this world that can hack into banking networks but on the other hand sometimes you need to have the extra protection of a bank when you yourself can't protect all your money without help." He was starting to get tired of this topic of conversation it was really kind of pointless to talk about it

Sokkenai walked up to the counter and payed for the stove and filled out the details for delievery before walking over to Selene, Yuki and Jonny and saying "T-that sounds like a good idea I'm up for it."

Jonny facepalmed again as he heard bits and pieces of Alex's rant from afar. He was either the most paranoid, or the most cynical, person that Jonny had ever met. Perhaps even both. However, Selene proceeded to counter the arguement, rendering a good deal of it pointless. He decided to not get involved yet again, because it might just make things worse. Instead he considered what other things he might like to buy, as Selene asked if anyone wanted to get extra things for their rooms.

"I for one think that my room could use some sprucing up. Lead the way then, my ladies." He played up the formality as a harmless joke, bowing lightly before Yuki and Selene.

"And how many people do you know of happen to be master hackers that are capable of hacking into the data networks of say, the CIA Or MI6? Don't you know it'd take hackers of such caliber to hack into the world's banking network?"

He knew she'd say that. Everyone says it like that. He was slightly annoyed by the repetitive reply and was rearing to retort, but reminiscing the consequences he had to go through for being too defensive, he decided to close the topic. Just a little clarification he wants to make clear, "Just because a successful network break-in has never been made public doesn't mean it has never been done. And I unfortunately am acquainted with one such hacker," He went silent after that. The bitter memory of being involved with the guy he hated so much was enough to make him passive.

"If you learn to just get off your high horse for once and get to know people better, they might just like you better. And when everyone you run into around the next corner isn't looking to, well, box you in your mug I think overall you'd at least realize that people aren't so bad and that they are in fact more reliable than you give them credit for."

I know that, he thought. He wont deny it, there are trustworthy people out there. Why else would he choose to hire Nick and Aria and was yet to fire his maid despite past events? "I'm afraid you'll be having a hard time finding reliable people where I came from," he said quietly, without really giving it any thought.

"How about getting some decorations and other accessories to liven up our living quarters once Sokkenai-kun is done getting his stove?"
He opted to just follow them wherever they go. It would be a good chance to learn the layout of this place a little bit more. And he still has the little feeling as though someone might jump in on him any moment. Staying in group was probably the safest.

Yuki found herself keeping mum while Selene and Alex waged their verbal battle. Even Sokkenai found himself putting in his own two cents. For his sake she was glad that he didn't simply pass out from the pressure. That's not to say she thought he wasn't intelligent and couldn't handle this sort of discussion, but he did seem a bit jittery and wasn't sure how he worked under pressure.

This was a topic that she knew she would not be able to win an argument in and thus she kept to herself, awkwardly tapping the toes of her right foot on the tiles behind her to keep herself occupied. Whatever was being discussed, she stayed out of it; the tone that Selene and Alex were both using was a bit unsettling to her. Thus, she did her best to block out the debacle entirely before the simple disagreement caused a real reaction and upset her for no real or good reason, other than the fact that she disliked confrontations.

As the war waged on, Yuki drifted over to a rack of magazines near the check-out counter. Much like the store's specialty, they were catalogs for various types of appliances, doing an expert job of making Yuki want to buy some other over-priced goods. She flipped through the pages of one in particular, getting sucked into the fantastic item descriptions and strategic advertisement of prices. Just before she was about to pull out her phone to dial her aunt for an advance on her allowance to afford a giant, self-cleaning, AI-managed fridge-freezer combination, she heard Selene call out.

"How about getting some decorations and other accessories to liven up our living quarters once Sokkenai-kun is done getting his stove?"

Almost automatically she shut the catalog without processing a single thought and put it back in the rack, the fridge now a thing of the past, raising a hand enthusiastically. "I vote yes!"

It didn't take long for Sokkenai to finish his purchasing, and he was in on their plan as well with a, "T-that sounds like a good idea I'm up for it."

Jonny also wasn't far behind, jokingly adding a bit of suave-ness to his response. "I for one think that my room could use some sprucing up. Lead the way then, my ladies." In typical teenage-girl fashion Yuki couldn't help but giggle as he bowed, even if it was in a mocking manner. Somewhere far away Nora was rolling over uncomfortably amidst a nap at Yuki's terrible lack of suppression of her adolescent teen antics. It also looked like Alex planned on joining them, which Yuki wouldn't really mind in all reality...as long as the snarkiness was kept to a minimum and he didn't purposely try to start any fights.

"That looks like everyone, let's get going!" Yuki made it about two paces before stopping herself before another episode like last time occurred. "Ah...after you, Selene-san!"

"I'm afraid you'll be having a hard time finding reliable people where I came from," Alex replied at the end of their exchange, although throughout the whole affair the corporate heiress wondered if he was sincerely listening or letting any of it sink in. But it wasn't as if there isn't a plausible cause for his current cynical outlook and paranoid demeanor. Perhaps, he'd indeed grown up under rather unfortunate circumstances where enemies are everywhere and true friends are hard to find. Still, was it right to let the actions of a few forever ruin one's opinion on an entire group? The corporate heiress came to a grudging acceptance that it was pointless to argue any further - it was not easy afterall to change overnight an outlook that was probably built up over the course of years.

"I'm sorry to hear about that," Selene briefly turned her attention back to Alex. "But I sincerely hope that you'll have better luck here in Hyakuji." Alex didn't seem like such a bad person, even if he'd rubbed others the wrong way but it was merely him speaking out of experience and sharing his wisdom, even if said wisdom wasn't really applicable to most people.

"I vote yes!" Yuki chimed in, the pink-haired girl being quick to second the corporate heiress' proposal. And seeing how Sokkenai was done with his purchase nothing was standing in the next stage of their shopping plans, and said move was also supported by Jonny.

"I for one think that my room could use some sprucing up. Lead the way then, my ladies." My ladies? Well, that was unexpected - Selene hadn't foreseen Jonny addressing her and Yuki. And while Yuki burst into an almost stereotypically adolescent giggling fit, Selene merely lowered her head demurely and giggle slightly as she looked away.

"That looks like everyone, let's get going!" Yuki announced jubilantly as she placed herself in front of the group.

"Aye, tally 'ho!" Selene chorused as she twirled her handbag around before slinging it to her back, resting its shoulder strap against her right shoulder - the pink-haired girl barely made it more than two paces before suddenly stopping, obviously still remembering the embarrassing little episode from earlier when she tried to lead... while being a stranger to the place.

"Ah...after you, Selene-san!" the pink-haired girl offered, as Selene graciously stepped forward ahead of Yuki, leading in the front as they left the appliance store.

"Well, let's start over there shall we?" Selene suggested as she looked at the entrance of a store for furnishings, interior decoration and home accessories - a large department store styled establishment that was located on the second floor, accessible via a nearby escalator. Alex had decided to follow, but Selene didn't really mind this time round, it was a good day to be with friends, and she certainly wasn't about to let some negative comments get her day down!

Sokkenai sighed happy that the arguement was over for at least now he stopped himself from chuckling when Yuki was going to lead everyone to the next shop but quickly stopped herself and let Selene take them. Sokkenai didn't know what that was about but from his guess she probably didn't know the layout of the mall that well.

As he followed his company into the store he looked around seeing lots and lots of different kinds of furnishings there wondering if he needed anything to make his room look better as well, while thinking of what he needed for his room he waited and let everyone else go have a look around before making his choice on what he needed to buy, it was a very big store with lots of different kinds of furnishings so he took his time and had a nice look around.

Yuki initially tried to lead the way, but was to quick to recall what happened last time, allowing Selene to take charge instead. Jonny could only hold back his amusement - it seemed a bit cruel, but seeing Yuki stumble over herself like this was rather cute in its own way. Selene was quick to point out a department store on the second floor, which was accessible via the nearby escalator.
...But why take the bother taking the long route like that? Instead of taking the escalator, he simply climbed his way up through parkour-esque movements, which even without his super speed, took less time. That and it was fun too.

He landed with a light tap on the second floor, getting there before the others.
"Ah, I always love doing that." He muttered, noting that he actually hadn't scaled any buildings yet since he got to Hyakuji. He'd have to fix that. For now though, he simply walked inside the shop, taking a look at some of the stuff inside. Lamps, curtains, and that sort of thing.
"Maybe something in red..." He muttered, trying to find something to his tastes.
