The Book that is Hyakuji's Story has come to a close. However, there are still plenty of stories left to be told in the madcap Anime Universe it inhabits. As one book closes, so too does another open. Presented by veteran Hyakuji Staff Members, check out the next generation EVOLUTION of "Anything-Goes" Anime Roleplaying at Senki Academy

Incedentally, I never liked sites like that which have them all uploaded. They make themselves an easy target. Nothing important has been lost though. It's like the equivalent of when CrunchyRoll sold out and went legit.

What
Manga Toshokan also caved in to corporate pressure and neutered their library. It's all pretty much Chinese and Korean mangas there now.

Ah, at least I still have mangastream to get my fix.

It sucks big time, I generally preferred them over mangastream. Oh well, guess we'll just have to get our manga fixes elsewhere.

Annoys me to hell, I read Bleach, Naruto, and half-a-dozen or so other manga there (D.grey-man, DNAngel, and a few others) there, and Mangafox doesn't have all of them, I think.

Anything less would be uncivilized.
Onemanga was my favorite site. T_T Dang, now I'll need to snoop around for a good one that's not as likely to be hunted down.

Doesn't matter much really. There will be other places.

And really, this wouldn't be so bothersome if people actually released localised manga that people gave 2 shits about. I'd be glad to own most of the stuff I read legally if they ever sold the damn things in a language I could read.

My only problem with that thought is that I have no money with which to buy those manga. =(

Other than that I agree completely Kat. There always somewhere else, and then there's buying the stuff. (Although not being able to read Japanese really limits my buying options.)

Glad I'm an IRC lurker or this could by sucky... though there are a few groups that only seem to release on OneManga. I'm sure they'll just start popping outta some other site soon enough.

I'm more worried about if the scanlator groups starts not scanlating too. I already know some I like are thinking of stopping scanlations because of what the publishers want. =/ But yeah, onemanga going down means hunting each scanlator group one by one.

God forbid people have to put in a little time and search effort to get their product they're not paying a dime for instead of having instant gratification XD

It's pointless anyways... there will be new sites that are the exact same thing in a few months. If I were the companies I'd work up a digital distribution method for manga and then license shit and pay scanlator groups to go legit and translate series on a case by case basis. With the printing costs nulled you could easily toss out more series that are took risky to put into print and the lower cost of digital files would mean a lot more blind buys or people randomly taking risks on stuff.

I think digital distribution in general would be good for manga. I suppose it'll be awhile though until stuff like a Kindle or iPad are more affordable and widespread.
