NICE DRIVE!

So... I dunno how much anyone knows about this. They'd been spamming the tv a lot recently over here with commercials trying to drum up interest but truth be told until I read something just now I'd paid it little attention. The short of things is that anyone can submit a cause or project and then people vote on them. The top 2 ideas will each recieve a 250k Grant from Pepsi to work towards its realization. Now, what do I mean by rock the vote? There's on certain entry sitting near the top that is pretty damn interesting and truth be told it's losing out to a bunch of selfish or short-sighted ideas. So, unless you just don't wanna take the time or something I beseech everyone to go vote for this one and pass it on to everyone you know to get them to vote too. What's the idea? Well to put it in perspective lemme detail you guys the top 5 right now. #1: Revitalize the neighborhood of a nowhere town in Tennessee by building them a community center. #2: To rebuild some Elementary School that was condemned due to contamination of mine substances (whut?) in Illinois. (granted, this is a decent idea but compared to the final one it seems a bit selfish and short sighted) #3: Build a youth center for education/entertainment (Read: so shitty local bands can play and we can dick around somewhere until somebody breaks the law and it gets shut down) in some nowhere city in Illinois. #4: Some Mom's dream to buy a historic farmhouse in PA and revamp it into a resource home/center for parents that lose children because she lost two of her own kids to cancer #5: Funding a currently going research by a non-profit Organization on a theory for alternative treatment of cancer based on a non-invasive (read: no surgery) procedure that can eliminate 100% of cancer cells while not harming any other. Now uh... I'm not trying to say people aren't allowed to have their own opinions or anything but... ONE OF THESE IS WAY MORE FUCKING AWESOME THAN ALL THE OTHERS. I mean, really? What the hell is going on here? The resource home for parents that lose their kids was filed by a woman that lost her kids to CANCER and it's beating the FUCKING POTENTIAL 100% NON-INVASIVE TREATMENT OF CANCER!? The dual community center ideas are just selfish and a waste of time and money. I can get behind the rebuilding the condemned school stuff but not before a treatment for cancer. This is how I see this panning out... any of those top 4 win and they won't effect any of us here. The cancer one wins and MAYBE there is finally a real treatment for Cancer that also doesn't make you some ruined shell of a person in the process. However, if it turns into a dead end then it's no more of a waste of money than it is for building community centers in nowhere towns that none of us will ever visit in the first place. Anyways, links for more info on the cancer treatment stuff: http://www.kanziuscancerresearch.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Kanzius#Cancer_therapy Link to vote: http://www.refresheverything.com/kanziuscancerresearch (you have to register to vote which just needs some info you can BS plus an e-mail. If that kinda stuff worries you use an alt you never check or one for junk mail or something) Vote, spread the word and encourage more to vote. Need moar chance for cure to cancer, no moar community centers for shitty local bands to stroke their ego-peens at. |

Because most average people in America are retarded dumbfucks. Watch Family Guy's episode where Lois runs for mayor; that's a pretty good example. EDIT: Also you can- and should- vote once again, so it's not a one-time thing. I know I'll be hitting that vote button everyday until the contest is over. Edited by Eiji, Apr 20 2010, 11:06 AM.

Aye, I'm going to be voting every day till it closes and I encourage everyone else to. I mean really... it's rediculous... Why is buying a lady a house to make a center for people to grieve over children lost via cancer beating a alternative not-currently-being-backed cure for cancer? Whose to say this one person won't just run the "home" for a year then just say fuck it I'm done and just net herself a brand new house for free. I mean... yeah it sucks for her loss, but isn't it more noble to try and prevent that loss from ever happening again for anyone than getting a new house in nowhere, PA to grieve in? Anyways, spread the word and drum up votes~ |

What I don't get is how they can claim that it has no side effects. All treatments have side effects, and even after one, you feel like a part of you is missing. (votes for cancer treatment) Is this limited to only a select group of doctors, or is it something that most hospitals are aware of but are afraid to do so due to fear of lawsuits? |

It has no side effects because it's targeting only the cancerous cells and nothing else in your body. You can read the links I gave for more info on it than is on the Pepsi page. It's an alternative cure for cancer that's currently being backed/supporting by a non-profit organization. This means that it has little support financially. From what I've dug up they've applied for a federal grant as well to back their research and testing but who knows on when that will have a result. If everything goes to plan and stays on track and gets FDA approval then by 2012 they're going to begin testing it on humans. I imagine if it does prove successful to its claims it would pretty quickly spread in availability for use cause uh.... hello nuking cancer without fucking up your body and then maybe not getting the job done~ |

Just a random update.... we're making a difference along with everyone else that's voting. Kanzius is currently Rank 3. If we can just pass up one more community center then hold second place or rise one more then Kazius is guaranteed one of the grants. Keep voting everyday and spreading the word, encouraging others to vote as well~ |
