Already talked to Hiro about this ^__^ Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: Asuka Sohma Gender: Female Age: 22 Height: 5’2 Weight: 115 Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() Occupation: Owner of the White Plum Coffe and Antique Shop Grade Level: N/A Powers/ Abilities: Asuka has shamanic abilities, unfortunately since she never received any training for it, she can only communicate with spirits at a very basic level (she sees them and can speak with them). She can also touch an object and have flashbacks about the last person who touched the object, even if the person in question is dead. Equipment You Have: -Red rimmed half-moon spectacles. -Wedding ring. -The 1080 souls rosary. Residency Request: Lives in the White Plum’s third floor. Schedule: No schedule for Asuka ![]() Personality Description: Asuka is a very happy person most of the time. She can be cheery to the point of air headedness, but she is not to be mistaken for an idiot. Her knowledge in ancient history is very vast, mostly because of her college studies and her grandmother's stories combined. Even if she appears to be a very silly person, she can sometimes give helpful advice, as long as she stays focused (something that can be hard when there are sweets involved). Ever since she was a child, Asuka developed a real passion for bakery, having piled up a great collection of recipees over the years. When asked about her past, Asuka will only smile and offer a dessert before changing the subject, when asked about her grandmother, she can rant for hours. The reasons for her return to Hyakuji are unknown, but nowadays there are times when she drifts off, a sad look in her eyes that ends as quickly as it begins. Personal History: Born in London England to wealthy parents, Asuka grew up in what could be called a difficult environment. She was always pressured to do everything correctly, from reading, playing violin to even standing up and speaking perfectly. Because of her restless demeanor, Asuka would always get in trouble, even if it was something as insignificant as getting her dress dirty after playing in the fields. Unfortunately for her, her family would always look at her as if she was an outsider, never quite fitting with the distinguished Sohma family image. Everything went downhill when Asuka's spiritual powers began coming forth. After a rather messy debut in society at 15, her parents decided she was never going to adjust to their life so they sent her to her grandmother's house in Japan. Asuka's grandmother was a reknown priestess in Osaka, who her son (Asuka's father) had not spoken to in years. The old woman was delighted to receive her grand daughter and soon the two females were as good as lifetime friends. Asuka spent her entire high school at her grandmother's shrine, being homeschooled on many subjects, including japanese. Time passed quickly and soon Asuka was 18, about to get in college and unsuspecting of the events that would shake her little family. Day by day, old age would make grandma Akira weaker, and even if she was saddened by the fact, Asuka understood her time with her grandmother had to come to an end. Finally, when Asuka was 19, Akira gave into a small sickness and died. The new heir to the shrine was a male cousin of Akira named Minoru, who later was revealed to be Asuka's betrothed since childhood. At this discovery, a furious 20 year old Asuka left the shrine for good and moved to Hyakuji. After her decission to refuse Minoru, her family decided to retire any financial aid in hopes of changing her mind. What they did not count on, were Asuka's savings, which were enough for her to rent a small coffee shop and start what she hoped could be her own business, also giving her a little time to study at night. Surprises didn't end at this point, since Asuka found herself having a very singular roomate: her grandmother's spirit who had decided to accompany her dear Asuka-chan into her new "life". Her life in Hyakuji: Asuka is very happy with her current life. She made some very good friends and let her grandmother's spirit go to the other world. Other than being sent to the shadow realm and being attacked by an evil possesed fan, Asuka is having the time of her life! Finally, after years of struggling against her fate, Asuka got married to Doumeki Shizuka. However, instead of going back to London to take control of the spiritual branch of the Sohma Corporation, they decided to elope. Two years later, Asuka came back to Hyakuji alone, ring still on her finger, with no explanation to the lack of her husband’s presence. The real surprise for her was to find her sister Hiyono had arrived in town and even more so when she discovered how she had turned out after years of pressure from their father. RP Sample: Deep blue eyes went over the finely printed text one more time. 'The art of Egyptian mummification consisted of many steps. First, the body was washed and ritually purified. The next step was to remove the deceased person's inner organs. A slit was cut into the left side of the body so that the embalmers could remove the intestines, the liver, the stomach and the lungs. Each of these organs was embalmed using natron, which served to dry out the organs and discourage bacteria from decaying the tissues.' "Good thing I was born Japanese! That is disgusting!!" Startled, Asuka barely prevented herself from hitting her head on the desk after hearing her grandmother's indignated cry. Taking off her glasses, the young woman rubbed her eyes and looked at the ghostly figure with a sweat drop on her brow. "Now now grandma, egyptians were famous for their body preservation techniques, I mean if they hadn't done that, we would not be able to know about them through the tombs found in..." Her explanation was interrupted by a dismissing hand gesture of the transparent hand. "Allright I don't even know why I commented on the subject, those egyptians can do whatever they like as long as they don't mess with my--" Her grandmother's ranting was interrupted by the sound of the entrance door's bell. Tears cascaded down Asuka's cheeks, at last, a customer!! Putting on her best smile, Asuka approached the curious young man. "Welcome to the white plum! Feel free to look around, we have a very large assortment of antique objects, from ancient scrolls to cursed accessories that hold a history as dark as the dry blood that was spilled over them..." Asuka did not notice her customer's face paling at her happy advertising. "Anyway, I know you'll find something you like, but in the meantime, would you like some cake? I just finished baking a delicious..." The sound of the door's bell interrupted her again and she found herself to be alone. Cocking her head to the side with a questioning glance she asked. "Was it something I said?" Grandma Akira could only shake her head in resignation. Her grand daughter was really smart, it was too bad her talents did not include social skills... Mashed Potatoes? There is… *gasp* NO SPOON! Oh hohohohoho! I wonder who took it… *runs away* |
