The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)
|
From the moment he walked in his own room, everything changed. Light bulbs were removed from the ceiling, the laptop computer was poked at and then placed outside his door, phone ports were sealed over with duct tape, and the ventilation unit taken down and given to his neighbor. Shad was a rather picky person about where he wanted to sleep, and any electronic devices within 10 feet of him made him rather nervous. So, instead on light bulbs, he used candles. Instead of a phone, he just talked to people. And instead of a PDA, he used a ink quill and parchment paper to get his point across. Of course, he was rather comfortable with the bed that he pounced on the second he saw it, the pillows were so fluffy compared to the lice-infested straw mats he once laid on. The blankets were nice and warm compared to the elk animal hide that he patched together, and smelted a bit, like a girl once used the room. Not once did he allow himself to look back at his village as he went inside the wooden, horse-drawn carriage and paid the driver a fair share of gold coins. Even though he was raised in a simplistic, amish-like community, he wanted to go to a school where people with abnormal gifts are welcome and not mistreated. Now that he was here, laying on the bed with arms crossed around his head, he was content looking at the white ceiling above his head. "School starts soon, eh? I wonder who my homeroom teacher is. And if they have a occult club." Shad whispered to himself, twirling the spell talon around in a circluar motion. His bags of luggage stayed close by the bed, just in case he forgot to place important items in the drawers. |
