Hyakuji, a small city in Japan where super human individuals and supernatural activities took place even if the government never chose to acknowledge it. His some of his fellow MITHRIL personnel had actually been to there, they called it a dangerous place and CENCOM even prohibited him specifically from entering it's region, should he attempt to enter it at all. His past as an agent for CENCOM had forced him to do things which he did was not proud of, but it was something he was forced to do to survive, Survival was the name of the game in life, there was no place for virtues or anything else when your life was at stake. Aliste had been looking around this city which he had left MITHRIL for,the nooks and crannies which could possibly make him connect further to the city for everything he knew was for this escape to this school. It's not like he held any connection to those bastards, but like new new things, change was easier said then done. Having made his way to through the deep forests of the city, he wanted to learn where he would be able to hone the art of his abilities, a place where he could maintain his calm state of mind. Aliste wondered what exactly he would do here in Hyakuji, what would he do now that there was nothing else for him. Might as well stick around through sheer indifference. Finding the magnificent Waterfall through the deep forest around Hyakuji had been a task, but he sat there to admire and think what his next course of action would be in the power desired. "Patience, somehow I found myself a virtue..." Orlandeau had whispered to himself while wetting his sliver hair, having dipped it into the lagoon of crystal clear water. The coolness woke the man up as he looked up at the full-moon. He was a bit tired...but it was alright. |

"Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of gifts he does not give. Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone." Heaven's voice echoed throughout the clearing from the surrounding trees, bouncing off of the rocks and roiling water, becoming indistinct as it trailed away. From between the trees, small flashes of white fluttered in a wide arc around the falls, like leaves rustling in the wind. From out of the trees a woman stepped, her step confident, her head held high. The moonlight reflected in her eyes, shining ethereally and strangely. In front of her was a young man, looking for all the world to be a moon-struck child, gazing at the moon like it would take him to a better place. The moonlight struck his white hair and amplified, shining like a beacon in the darkness. Heaven wondered if the boy was posing for some kind of camera shoot, and was half tempted to look around for a hidden camera. She knew they were the only people within a mile of this place at the moment, so it made her wonder a bit about the boy's sanity. A small leather-bound volume rested at her side, bumping occasionally on her hip as she walked slowly into the area. A silver cross jangled from around her neck, glinting in the moonlight. Her usual high heels had been replaced with more practical boots, combat boots to be exact. She had felt an urge to come out here, but she wasn't quite sure why. Now she knew. She could feel that something was odd about this child, emanating away from him like an aura. She wasn't sure if it was evil, but it was definitely dangerous. She could barely contain the shiver going up her spine, and the darkness hid a dangerous smile that crept onto her face before disappearing completely. "Well met, stranger, I'm sorry to disturb your meditation. The Lord led me here to meet you I think. My name is Anderson, are you in need of anything?" Her face was warm with a kind smile, her stance unguarded. With one hand she toyed with he cross around her neck, the other arm folded across her chest, her hand hidden beneath her other arm. She cocked her head to one side and raised her eyebrows, waiting to see what exactly she had been called out here for. 'Perhaps another lost lamb needs guidance,' she thought quietly to herself. |

"Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of gifts he does not give. Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone." His icy blue eyes attempted to find the place where the voice came from, apparently she seemed to mock him, speaking as if a proverb notarized within some fable or scripture. Though, he smiled upon seeing her, but eyes still cold and piercing through her as if she had defied holy grounds by coming to him the way she did. But it mattered not, it was time to see what this woman wanted. Getting himself up, his fingers ran up his silver-white hair, returning it to it's usual spiked style. Beginning to make an analysis on her features, he took note of the long beautiful strands of light hair which wasn't very clear with the moon-shining down on her, her cute glasses and magnificent eyes, eyes that seemed somewhat disturbing to him, as if they'd hid something. Furthermore, a silver cross meant she was somewhat religious, a book at her side meant she was more then somewhat.... By the way she had looked upon him, he had noticed she had been sizing him up. It was unexpected for someone to have come to this spot at the same time as he did, had she followed him? No, this wasn't likely, he knew when he was being followed from prior experience. So what was it? She spoke to him... "Well met, stranger, I'm sorry to disturb your meditation. The Lord led me here to meet you I think. My name is Anderson, are you in need of anything?" Aliste nodded, throwing off his blue coat leaving his sleeveless onyx coat, his own falsely welcoming smile, his hunch was correct, apparently she was a sister or something of the sort. "Pleasure meeting you Miss Anderson," Aliste replied with a bow, "So the Supreme being has brought you here to ask me a question, hm?" Aliste added in with a chuckle as he, as his own footsteps began to walk up slowly in her direction, ever so graceful, as if watching out for a landmine. "Am I in need anything, correct? How about, why that ever grand bastard in the sky could give rat's ass about a nothing man on the face of the third rock from the Sun of the Sol System within the Milky Way Galaxy? Did you come here to tell me that you came for 'a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through you might believe,' ? If so, please, Sister, I do not need your pity." Aliste coldly finished, his face now stern with his last statement, an icy gaze matching it. Edited by Zero, Apr 11 2010, 05:51 PM.

"Pleasure meeting you Miss Anderson," The man replied with a bow, "So the Supreme being has brought you here to ask me a question, hm?" He added in with a chuckle as he, as his own footsteps began to walk up slowly in her direction, ever so graceful, as if watching out for a landmine. If so, please, Sister, I do not need your pity." Something inside of Heaven began to awake, but she resolutely pushed it down for now. It was not yet time for her to start in Hyakuji, especially not rising to the bait of someone who fell over himself speaking. A shiver of excitement ran up her spine, wanting again to feel the pleasure of combat, exacting holy retribution on this fool who dared slander God's name. A sorrowful look came across Heavens face, but she made no move to back away from the boy advancing on her. "The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly," she said to him softly, shaking her head. "I would not presume to say why the Lord brought me out here today, maybe it was to see you, perhaps not. I am but a simple servant, and go where I am led. Surely you would not hold that against me," she said to him, not questioning, just stating matter-of-factly. Time seemed to stand still for everything in the clearing, the wind dying down, even the animal nightlife holding their breathe, wondering what would happen next. It was like seeing a viper bearing down a hapless mouse, ready to strike its meal down with impunity. Heaven made no move to appear more than what she appeared to be, a simple woman of the church. "Again I apologize for intruding upon your meditation, perhaps I have come at a bad time?" she offered. "Surely I can appreciate needing time alone," she said with a warm smile. Inwardly she seethed, wanting to take out her baton and smash his ridiculous head in. How DARE he think he had the right to question the Lord. Worthless human scum, he should be grateful the Lord even lets him wake up in the morning. Created in His image? If God looked like him, she would vomit horrendously upon His holy feet on sight. Seriously, who wore sleeveless coats these days? She hoped he stepped in a large pile of shit, prancing over here like some fairy elf. |

Apparently, she did not heed his warning, for her face bore a sorrowful look as if he could not notice it. She even began to speak out more outdated words from an antiquated time that has long past them. But he did come to realize that what she spoke of was true, like anyone addicted to a drug, your the person that is wrong whenever you tell them of the true follies that revolve around the opiate of faith. Seeing the way she handled this, she she seemed to believe herself truly correct in this fashion but of course, everyone is vain in that manner. But this woman apparently was going to play the helpless maiden card, it was true he had no reason to attack her the way he did, but why did he really do this? Possibly, a self-analysis was in order. His eyes though, they did not let up the icy gaze he held, for if he did, he had backed down and lowered his guard. Aliste for intimidation was to be met head on, likewise intimidation was to be stuck with, should that be that strategy you choose to take. The feeling of everything dying down upon them as they gazed upon each, exchanging words. A calm before a storm? "No, Miss Anderson. I believe you are correct, I apologize." Aliste replied, continuing to stick to his guns though. "But, me and the 'good lord' with his 'good news', are no where near on good terms. So let us, discuss this topic..." Alis told her with another chuckle as he turned his back to her this time quickly walking back to the lagoon. Suddenly, closing his eyes he held his hands out and seemed to concentrate. Beginning to take a step, he began to do a miracle which her lord had done as well. Aliste began walking on the water, as he spoke "I find religion to be a dead-end for society's future, an opiate for man for a humble human states he does not know all the answers to life and it's big questions but religion attempts to answer them. With all the different religions answer questions, they all think they're right and we got people killing each other yet their most basic tenants, are gone with the wind at the chance to be able to say I am right and you are wrong, no?" Aliste declared with a grin, now standing at the center of the lagoon. "But me, I am human. I say that our worst traits and greatest traits make us beautiful, because of our imperfections. But, opinions are simply that, right? What are your thoughts?" Aliste questioned. Maybe could be considered mocking, even spur her, who knows but his Aquamancy allowed him to change the pressure of the water below his feet, preventing them from sinking thus essentially walking. It worked wonders for emulating a grand moment in the holy book, that's for sure. |

"But me, I am human. I say that our worst traits and greatest traits make us beautiful, because of our imperfections. But, opinions are simply that, right? What are your thoughts?" Heaven merely smiled and bowed her head, clasping her hands together. 'Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they stink,' she thought to herself. 'Yours in particular smells like something crawled into it and died a few years ago.' The boy actually walked out onto water, spouting some nonsense she barely even listened to. As if it would impress her or something, in an age where young kids were exploding buildings and warping time and space. "Religion does not answer questions, child," Heaven said softly, smiling at the boy. She would play this game a little longer. "Faith does. Faith is having the ability to believe in something greater than yourself. Faith gives us power of a different sort, not just the power to do parlor tricks, but the power to shape the world as we see fit." "Do you truly believe that you are on this Earth for no reason? Is that how you wish to live your life, just 'surviving'?" She said, her gaze on the boy warm and friendly. Heaven held out her hand to the boy from the edge of the treeline, her voice warm and comforting. "All I'm asking for is a chance. Let me show you the beauty of the Lord. After all, you lose nothing, but gain something immeasurable. Finding the love of the Lord is like basking in the sunlight on a cold winter day, like bathing in a crystal spring in the middle of a barren desert." Heaven's eyes glowed in the darkness with unearthly light, standing strong and proud, infused with the righteousness of her Faith. "The Lord expects nothing from us but our faith, and to follow in His footsteps. It costs nothing just to believe in Him, and learn from His teachings. Won't you come with me?" she said, her hand outstretched. "I think the Lord did send me here to you today, to guide you into His arms, so that you may bask in His light." |

Aliste would remain indifferent to her words, it's not like anything she said mattered to him. At best, he was at odds with the woman to an extent. For he had little to no trust in people, but he admired humanity for it's imperfections. But truly something struck a cord when she stated, 'Do you wish to live your life, just 'surviving?', surviving alone. In solitude, as he had done for some many years. Live for the sake of living, an empty existence comparable to that of other fiends which he remembered from not too long ago. She held her hand out to him, she seemed kind enough although there was something lurking behind her. Maybe it had been remembering the lonely days and nights in a cell with only books, the classical books and all they offered. Textbooks to learn from and tests to take, alone. Let out into the world to accomplish a sole mission, then back into the cell you go. At first they would follow and train you, to the point where you would do it from simply fear or habit. Did her god offer protection? Would her god, guide him? As skeptical as he was... Aliste walked to her, extending his own hand and taking hold of hers, she would better take note of the man's pale skin, his body itself was even cold but it had decided to listen and see what she had devoted herself too. "Fine. I shall take you up on that offer, Miss Anderson. Show me this light of which you speak..." Aliste replied looking at her, somewhat doubtful of what she had offered. It was simply taking a gamble...for things to him were somewhat as if he had arrived in a new world from lifting his shackles of CENCOM...His freedom was almost best described by an author 'the world was recent that many things lacked name, and in order to indicate them, it was necessary to point,' He was cold in order to keep himself away from people like those of CENCOM, but his freedom also gave him a sense of wanting to explore things...which could have allowed him to make this deal with the devil? Or was it truly, god? |

When the boy grabbed her hand with his own pale, clammy one, she wanted to snatch her hand back and wipe it off with sandpaper. She could feel his insecurity and sins radiating from his skin like a choking miasma, and it was all she could do to not reach behind her, grab her baton, and slam him in the head with it. But she resisted, for the sake of her mission, and played the game to its final conclusion. The Lord would probably have no use for this trash, but she sensed a lot of power in him, and he could be useful in a given circumstance. Perhaps she could win him over to her side, but it would take a lot of convincing on her side. She grabbed his hand lightly, reaching out with her other hand to enfold it completely. Fake tears sprang into her eyes, and she bowed her head over his hand in filial piety. "Praise the Lord," she said warmly to him, squeezing his hand. "Come with me child, and I will show you thing you have only dreamed of," she said, while moving next to him and wrapping an arm around his shoulder. He was wet from being near the falls, and his sodden clothes stuck to him like overused paper mache. His skin was clammy, and felt as if she was putting an arm around a large squid. Bile rose in her throat, but she pushed it down, her mind on the task at hand. She squeezed her arm, pulling his shoulder close to hers while pointing with her other hand. "You look cold in those clothes, my car is parked not far from here, perhaps I could take you into town and we could see about getting you dried off and into some dry clothes? I would give you a ride to your house if you like." The water from his shoulder was now sopping into the front of her shirt, and Heaven felt disgusted again. 'The things I do for you Lord...' she thought to herself, keeping a warm smile on her face. "Maybe while we are in the car I can tell you a few stories from the Bible, one in particular, about a disciple known by the name Judas Iscariot." |
