[TIME: 12:30 AM,WEATHER: MILD, CHILLY. PARTLY CLOUDY. MOON: NEW MOON.]

It was dark, eerily dark in the park. The contrast of day to night was stark. Osamu's eyes were quick to adjust to the low light. He'd been operating in it for years, eventually you build certain physiological and mental abilities to cope. It was reflexive by this point, the change from light to dark. He never had to concern himself with the blindness of a sudden change. Part of the benefits of being someone whom operated in shadows..

He wore his katana at his side, tanto tucked into his belt, and on the back of his belt was a set of shuriken for quick access. So clearly he was lightly armed for a small walk to clear his head. It had been two years, two years of non-stop fighting. Two years of bloodshed and violence where they could never leave a shadow lest they receive a killing blow from a hundred meters. Two years since he had been able to walk out of base in anything other than full gear.

It felt surreal. The sounds of the park were all quickly given a logical source by his paranoid brain. Each person was eyes and given a logical reason for being there this late. Each tree shadow was carefully examined. As much as he told himself it was time to stop, time to relax, a part of him was still hard wired to be suspicious of everything that moved. Two years was enough to drive a man insane. Two years had been enough to make Osamu cautious.

He stepped into the lit path, it's dull yellow glow casting illumination over him. He wasn't on ninja business today. He wasn't hiding. He was back to being a regular member of Hyakuji. He was back to being a citizen, and more importantly he was back to his true job of protecting Hyakuji and training the next generation of ninja to take on this task. This was what he was meant to do. He was always destined to be a teacher, and a guardian, and when needed a soldier. But for a while it was nice just to be a normal person, enjoying the cool breeze of early spring.

With no fucking goddamn genetically enhanced government assassins throwing shit through your jugular.

This early in the morning, Chizu should have been asleep. She should have been curled up in her dorm room thanking whatever god would listen that Hyakuji was back and that she was still alive and that none of her friends were really dead. She should have been preparing for class again and the normal life that she had been missing for the past six months. But for some reason, she just couldn't bring herself to relax.

Maybe it was one of those things that would take time. She didn't even realize how used she had become to going out at night to fight Heartless. Plus, there was the fact that a part of her almost couldn't believe that it was finally over--that they had won. It was that part of her that made her get up, get dressed, and walk through the city at night, taking in everything she had taken for granted until she was in danger of losing it.

Hoping that she would never take it for granted again, although she would never admit to having such sentimental thoughts.

She frowned and hugged her arms against the cold, her feet taking her to the park. She had always liked walking through it, and it felt almost surreal being here again, under the dark sky. She walked down the dimly lit path, her arms folded. She didn't feel like fighting and she wasn't looking for a fight, but she wasn't completely stupid. She knew that in Hyakuji, a fight could come at any moment. And she welcomed that.

She paused as someone stepped into the light, unfolding her arms and placing them in the pockets of her jackets as she paused. Her posture was relaxed and there was no alarm in her expression, but her eyes drifted just a moment to the sword at his belt. She was Hyakujian enough to be alert, but Chizu didn't openly question him. She was no longer the fifteen year old hothead she had been when she first arrived. She waited, quietly regarding the man. She didn't walk past him yet, not until she was sure that he wasn't here to fight or do anything funny. She made herself known, watching him quietly to see how he would react.

The park was beautiful at this time of night. It was virtually empty and to those few who might remain, the darkness was too opaque for the common man. In the blanket of these shadows, she silently watched Osamu walk, her muscles relaxed, yet tense as she stood atop a broken lamp post, her tight fitting stealth suit making her an invisible figure in the stillness of the night. An angry puff of air filled her left cheek as Ayame hurled an kunai at his feet, her signature pink flower twirling around it's base. The master ninja leaped down from her perch, her shoulders raised and fists clenched indignantly at her sides.

"Osamu-sama!" she shouted, her hand raised, threatening to poke him in the chest. She was uncomfortably shorter than him, but seemed unphased by the dramatic different in stature. "You know you're not supposed to go out like this on your own, especially without telling anyone! What if there had been more Shadow ninjas just waiting to ambush you, huh?" She folded her arms as if waiting for an answer. "You think I'm going to be there to bail your butt out every time, well..." her expression seemed to soften. Ayame smiled at Osamu. "You're right." She punched him lightly on the arm as punishment and took her place next to him.

"It's really a nice night, isn't it? Now that the war is over."

Osamu picked up the shuriken ad spun it on his finger a few times before sliding it into his belt. He eyes darted over to Ayame whom was reprimanding him as usual. However he knew very well that she was just doing so out of an affection for him. She was his trusted comrade, a member of his 'nakama'. He was willing to fight with her and die if it was asked of him.

Osamu smirked a bit eying her. "A guild member is never alone." He said correcting her. "Besides.. the battle's over. If we continue to act like we're scared then it'll only increase the anxiety on the others." He said with a slow nod. His eyes shifted from where she was. He turned on heel looking to the girl whom was observing him. It was like he had eyes on the back of his head, but the truth was that he had acute senses and a sixth sense.

"It is a good night.." Osamu said to Ayame eying the girl he didn't know. "No moon so the stars seem brighter." He said slowly. "What do you need with me, ma'am?" He said moving his hands away from his blade. "I'm a member of the guild, I am allowed to carry this weapon.." He said dryly. It seemed that these kids were so hasty, the ninja guild went into silent running for over a year, it was no wonder they would be surprised to see someone armed.

Chizu tensed as a kunai flew through the air, but managed to keep from reacting adversely as it hit the ground next to the man. She twitched, but she kept the movement in control as she watched them. After the whole Heartless thing she really wasn't in the mood for a fight. In fact, she didn't know if she would be in the mood for a fight for a while yet. It was an odd feeling, as far back as she could remember she had always been living from fight to fight.

She held her ground as the man faced her, not advancing, not stepping back. She visibly relaxed a bit as the man moved his hands away from the blade, however she kept her senses on the wind around her, just in case. Like this, she could almost feel every air current around her, every spring breeze. "...What guild?" she asked after a while, still sounding slightly suspicious. She withdrew her hands from her pockets so that they could see she wasn't armed though, tentatively relaxing her guard a little.

Just a little.

Considering her previous experiences with Kyrios and Wo Shing, she almost felt like she had a right to be. Not all of the organizations in Hyakuji had good intentions.

Ayame hadn't failed to notice the girl in the shadows long before she'd spoken. She wasn't the type to relax until she knew who she was dealing with. Though her tone and expression appeared calm, her fingers ran lightly over the hilt of her kodachi, allowing her to throw or swing it with just a subtlest of hand movements. "The Ninja Guild, of course." Ayame answered. The girl kept her hands visible, showing she wasn't armed, but in Hyakuji people rarely needed to be. Sometimes she regretted living in a city full of superpowered people. It did terrible things to her nerves.

"Who are you?" She asked, none-too-tactfully. Ayame felt Osamu relax and she felt the slightest tinge of familiar irritation run through her. He was always too trusting.

"Well it's possible the new students don't know of us.. We're a guild of ninja that have existed since before this city. We report directly to the diet and are the guardians of not only Hyakuji but all of Japan.." He spread his arms. "Like certain.. other groups we exist to protect this city from the many villainous groups that would endanger it while training the students to defend themselves at the same time.." He said, practically reciting these missions from his heart. He knew all too well of the importance they had and the danger everyone had been in when they were gone.

He turned to his partner, he noticed her wary caution with a small smile. She really wasn't trusting enough. It was a student.. What harm did one untrained girl pose? "I'm Osamu and this is Ayame. We're both members of the guild. We're just enjoying a night out now that we're.. back in town." He said. The specifics of their two year vanishing act were obviously not something he wished to share. "Older students will know of us.. They will recall our presence.. As well as Tsukasa Sensei.." He said, reminding himself to meet the man.

They had to meet all the major players, a lot had changed since they had vanished. He didn't have the ability or advantage of Triyun whom was already well known of in the school. He would have to rely on his own leadership skills to forge these relationships as Triyun had before him. He needed the city to trust the guild and his leadership as implicitly as they had Triyun. Failing at this task would mean that the guild would be hindered in it's every step. Something that would make it impossible to deal with their tasks and operate effectively.

The ninja guild. Chizu had heard something about them her first few weeks in Hyakuji, but she hadn't really paid attention. Back then, she hadn't cared much for anything but herself. Since then, she hadn't heard anything, and if she had heard rumors in the beginning, she had dismissed them. Besides, those had just been rumors. She should have known that in Hyakuji, rumors were more likely to be true than not. She studied the two of them again, before turning towards the woman who had asked her who she was.

"...Yamamura Chizu. I'm a junior at the high school," she said. She relaxed just a little bit more. She was familiar with the idea of protecting Hyakuji--she was a member of Arcadia, after all. But Arcadia protected the city from supernatural threats. It didn't really involve itself in the little details of everyday life. It was a little hard to do that while being a secret organization, after all.

She didn't ask what Osamu meant by being back in town. She had found out the hard way that most people didn't even know that the Heartless invasion had happened, and she really wasn't in the mood to explain it if that wasn't what he was talking about. "So...the ninja guild?" she asked, almost conversationally. "I heard something about that freshman year...thought it was just a rumor though."

((OOC: Sorry SoL, it's Cyp's topic ^^;))

"Call me Yamada; we're not far from being just a rumor actually." Ayame commented. It was true, the Ninja Guild's numbers had all but withered down to near extinction due to the secret war. Though she was surprised that talk of the guild still circulated around the school, their legends were certainly old and a natural part of Hyakuji's culture. "It's nice to you meet you Ms. Yamamura." Osamu's reminder of Tsukasa-sensei brought back some distant memories. She hadn't truly met him, but when she was little, she'd seen him and Triyun-sensei together. Ayame had always been interested in what kind of man he was.

Triyun-sensei had always held him in such high regard, not just anyone could command the respect of their leader. At any rate, they'd be making their great reappearance soon enough and she'd have a lot of hands to shake and elbows to rub with Hyakuji's heavy hitters. She had never been much of a socializer and the thought of it made her feel a bit uncomfortable.

"You'll be hearing about us a lot more in the coming months."

"Hmph.." He eyed his comrade with a smirk. "You make it so dramatic.. Rather than a big scene it'd be nice if people simply accepted us casually.." He said trailing off and eying the rest of the park. It was true that his first task as leader was a relatively simple one. Simply to assimilate the guild back into the city and once more become a part of Hyakuji. But he was still rather uncertain of his own ability to lead these brave men and women. And as such even this task weighed heavily on him.

"Anyhow, rather than telling you about the guild I was just trying to quell your fears.." He said casually. "I'm certainly not in the business of keeping people from their business." He said looking to his partner. He didn't want to pester a student late at night for no reason. It'd hardly be couth to keep children out this late.. Although what she was doing out this late at all was a mystery it was none of his business.

The last thing the ninja guild needed was to be Hyakuji's daycare keeping a curfew for the kids. He chuckled a bit at the idea of ninjas whisking kids back to the dorms. Well, it'd be efficient if nothing else. He turned to Ayame. "What do you tihnk of a ninja taxi service? It could be profitable." He said with a serious expression. He folded his arms across his chest. "Carrying the kids could be good weight training for rookies too.."

Chizu made a face as Yamada called her "Miss". "Drop the miss, and we've got a deal," she said. She folded her arms, watching the exchange between the two of them. It was obvious that they had pretty much dropped her out of the equation--not that she hadn't been expecting that. She really wasn't that important here. She thought about what Yamada had said. Hearing a lot more about them in the coming months?

She tried to piece together what was going on based on what Osamu was saying. Ninja taxi service? Not for her--she didn't need anyone carrying her anywhere, but she could think of a few people that would go with something like that. From what she could gather, though, the ninja guild probably intended to use the students to bolster its ranks, which was pretty much what all the organizations did. "You guys shouldn't have too much of a problem," she said, "Tons of wannabe ninjas in the first year."

She frowned and looked up at them. "But aren't ninjas supposed to be...y'know...secret?" she asked.

"Hmph." Osamu turned with a small smirk. "Is that a challenge or something?" He said with a smirk. "The CIA is a secret intelligence order yet everyone knows it exists. The guild was always known of.. But can you tell me if besides the two of us there are anymore operatives in this park? Can you tell if there are cameras in your school that bear just the slightest dissimilarity to the rest..?" He said using hypothetical.

A smile spread more broadly. "Can you tell me how I know you're Chizu Yamamura, Aeromancer?" He shrugged and turned away from her. "We're a secret organization alright. Secrecy is how we operate, secrets are what we sell and purchase.. sometimes with our lives, and secret is just what we're planning to do next. Oh yes, we're secretive." He laughed heavily breaking off the serious tone. He turned to her with a warm expression.

"It's not overstepping myself to say that just because you're aware that the guild exists it doesn't make you anymore ready for us when we're making our move." He said mirthfully. He stepped towards her. "So.. when you had the chance to get away you chose to inquire further. I like that. A healthy thirst for information is what we're built on. I can respect that." He folded his arms over his chest. "Anything else you'd like to know?"

It was possible this girl was an interesting sort of individual that might be important in the future. He was sure from her physique that she had done some extensive training, perhaps she was even a candidate? Either way he was intrigued by he to the extent to hang around a bit longer.

Ayame folded her arms, looking away from Osamu, the clear source of her frustration. He really was going to get himself killed someday, not that she'd care if he died of his own foolish nature. "We don't take care of students, we teach students to take care of themselves." The small-statured ninja said, nodding seriously. If Osamu had his way all by himself, the guild probably would end up as a daycare center. Pssht, weight training. If they ever got a batch of rookies, she'd show them the meaning of weight training. The thought of it was enough to a smile on Yamada's face as the girl continued.

Chizu's attitude, however, managed to wipe her smirk off quite instantly. That girl had the nerve to tell a master of ninpo how to address her? Ayame scoffed. Wannabe ninjas? Secret societies? What did this girl know about the guild anyway? "I think it's pretty clear you don't understand the first thing about what it means to be a member of the guild. I'm sure the amount of discipline, deep wisdom and understanding involved in it would be too boring for someone who already knows all about ninjas and secrets."

She smiled as Osamu explained the secrecy of the guild's inner-workings and the extent of their information gathering skills. Ayame was just about ready to wave her off when once more, Osamu preyed on her patience. Telling her as much as he had already, he was encouraging her to ask more questions now? As if Chizu hadn't made her lack of respect for them and their guild abundantly clear already, he felt the need to compliment someone who had dared to talk back to his second in rank.

Ayame released another annoyed scoffed to express her thoughts.
