Maybe it was the feeling of his very life being drained from his body. Maybe it was because he hadn't felt that way in a very long time. Whatever it was, Seth didn't like it. "I guess what I dealt with was a little different then. Whatever you are, I have no business with you." The feeling was similar, almost the same. Maybe that's why he confused it with what he knew initially. Now that he knew it was different, there was no reason to let it continue to drain him.

He would've reached for his blade and helped out Eiji, who was getting pummeled, but he seemed to be being constricted. That wasn't good. His healing factor would keep him alive but being crushed to death hurts like hell. Seth tried to break free but his movement was restricted. "Damn. Going out like this isn't exactly my style. And there's no way in hell I'll allow myself to die by something like this when I've survived worse."

He concentrated hard. Since he couldn't move much he had to make this count. He shifted slightly bits at a time until he had the perfect opportunity. When he believed he was in just the right position he reached for his blade with all his might in order to slash free.

OOC: Sorry, I usually wait for every participant to post. I waited too long to make mine. Again, sorry.

Illist gave a stifled grunt. It was hardly like him to enjoy stepping into such an obvious trap. The beastly shade seemed to do this as a precaution. As the current adversary began to wail on Eiji with it's man sized fists, Illist could feel the reverberations in his shoe from the beating being given to Eiji's barrier.

This set a president, at least in Illist's mind. Disable and attack, predatory methods. The next by second explosion, and subsequent reveal of the voice's black winged owner made him question just how in control of it's actions the behemoth really was. Shadows encircling fast like bath water at the drain; Illist quickly unleashed several of his Remnants from under his coat; the grey little ghosts filling the space around him while the inky sea tried to swallow him.

His feet were pretty much stuck in place; but with Remnants creating a wall around him, Illist some freedom of movement after the shadows had solidified. A new figure darted around from the corner of his eye, and any new comers sneaking around the current situation would most definitely be in a helpful mood.

Slipping off his boots, shadows that did get him quickly consumed them, Remnant's slipping themselves like fabric under him to stop the rise of yet more of the engulfing glue. He couldn't tell how the shadows out side his ghostly shield were reacting, but he could tell things weren't about to go their way.

Shots fired, even so close their clatter was drowned in an atmosphere of distance shouting, screams and the oppressive, dull bashing the large monster made when it brought it's mighty fist down on Eiji's barrier. Illist took the chance, hoping that the shadow beast had not moved in the few seconds that had pasted. He raises his clawed arm within the barrier he'd formed, the sleeve of his Dimensional coat twisting around his hand till what he was left with was a lance. Tensing his arm, aiming at where he thought best the beast would be; the lance cleaved thorough the stone like shadows, the shield opening a path to steady the sharpened beam of mass like a pool cue.

The hole in the Remnant shell allowed the shadows to pour inwards, filling the space and threatening to soon encasing Illist. The growth of the lance was fast as any bullet, partials rearranging to thrust it towards the intended target.

OK I like this topic and I would really like to continue, but those who are supposed to be posting here -save for hazzah- don't seem interested in continuing posting, and we're not even 2 pages into it... So I guess I'll give it another week or so and if there are no more posts I'll consider it deserted.

OOC: Sorry Eiji. I just assumed that everyone else would post. HazzaH seems to be the only one posting regularly. Also I was kinda waiting to see if Seth would get free. I'll go ahead and assume he did.

Illist seemed to be more than capable of helping out and still staying safe. "Easy to do when you have a barrier." Seth thought. The shadows let go once he slashed through them. He didn't want to go through that another time. So he did a few check slashes to his sides to make sure that he wouldn't be grabbed like that again. He wasn't a fan of being grabbed by anything. "If that's what's controlling that beast, that's my target." Seth fixed his eyes upon the flying creature. "Like hell I'm gonna allow you to keep draining my life energy. I kinda need it to survive." He rushed towards the figure. Seeing as how it was flight capable and he wasn't he figured he might as well get a boost.

He adjusted course to the first beast, ready to jump on it and use it as a stepping stone. He could've helped Eiji out but he figured that defeating the new creature would be more help than trying to take out the first one. Especially if he was right that the second was controlling the first. Just as he was about to jump his foot had broke. He crashed to the floor. Those constricting shadows did more damage than he thought.

He had to focus on healing real quick because being unable to get up would not be an ideal situation here. "Dammit to hell. Figures that my plans always fail because of some idiotic injury." His foot fully healed, he got up and decided this must be some sort of sign. He sighed. "Oh well, first beast it is then." He drew his blade and rushed up to the beast, putting all his strength into a downward slash.

More than a Ghost on a Shipwreck
OOC: Blah, blah, late, blah blah, post, blah, sorry!

Danny had learned by now, and mind everyone that it had taken many years of serious practice, that nothing that happened in life was going to be as easy as you could hope it would be. When he saw the monster, felt his energy fleeting, and then saw what it was doing to Eiji, he could only feel hopeless within the entire situation. He had never been the strongest, the fastest, or even the smartest. He always lost in fights against other people because he was too afraid to push himself past the limits that he needed to.

When the thing grabbed hold of him there was nothing he could do. The tentacle grabbed him, and his slightly glowing body was lifted off the ground. Danny felt the pulsating strength of the monster constricting around his waist, and before long his oxygen levels were beginning to deplete at an alarming rate. Was this going to be the end of it all? He could feel that reserved power that came out of nowhere begin to fade too. If he didn’t have sunlight he didn’t have power. If he didn’t have power than Danny was more useless than all of the other people here.

God, stop this stupid shit. All you ever thing about these days is how pathetic you are. How you can’t get anything done. How on your WSS mission you are nowhere as strong as the others are. Yeah, you may not be the best, but you aren’t useless either. Use what you got Danny-boy. That’s all you can do, and that’s all that you can ask yourself to do.

Danny took a deep breath. He didn’t have a lot of power left, but he felt that if he could focus as much as he did into one blast he could free himself, and probably damage the monster too. If it was anything like the shadow that he had faced in the warehouse than light might be one of the few useful things to use against it.

“I am not very willing to become a part of you, or feed you, or whatever you want from me,” Danny said as he created a huge sunburst. The beam split into twelve equal size beams, three of them went towards his tentacle, six went for Eiji’s tentacle (it was part of his job to protect Eiji, though usually he didn’t need help) and the remaining three went straight for the monster itself.

He heard the explosion from off in the distance, but Danny concentrated at the problem at hand. His life energy draining, sun energy draining, it didn’t matter. All that mattered was living another day, saving Eiji, and getting the hell out of this multiverse and back to Hyakuji.

Danny wasn’t interested in dying during any part of that process.

The officer’s bullets were having a minimal effect on the large creature of darkness. He saw the others trying their best to fight it with their unconventional weapons, in Ernesto’s opinion. He quickly ducked behind the wall and reloaded his submachine gun. He needed to get to a better vantage point, the people there where inadvertently getting in they way. Their attacks were doing much more damage, but he had to play his part. He didn’t know who they were, but he did know they needed help fighting that thing.

Not to mention there was another black thing heading their way from the skies. Which to focus on? The thing on the ground was the immediate threat, he didn’t know what the flying one could do, though… a quick glance at the people and he would be one of the only ones that could take on the flying creature. He looked around the partially demolished buildings; one of them had their stair cases still intact which lead to a partially destroyed roof. It would be the ideal vantage point to take on both the big hulking creature and the flying one. He only hoped it didn’t collapse under his weight.

He made a dash for it. He ran up the stairs and constantly prayed that it wouldn’t collapse beneath him. Once he reached the top he took aim of the flying creature. It was too far up away, his gun would barely make a scratch from that distance. He shot a burst which got its attention.

Ernesto was alone on a partially destroyed rooftop while the others were on the ground level taking care of the tentacle shadow monster. The flying creature flew downward toward Ernesto who switched his gun to fully automatic and waited for the ideal time to shoot. His submachine gun was more effective short-medium range; shooting now would be a waste of bullets, which he didn’t have many to start with.

The officer’s eyes widened as he started to let loose a volley of bullets and he jumped out of the way just as the creature swooped past him. The officer let out a pained scream as the creature claw slashed through the armour and got to his skin; if it wasn’t for his armour he’d probably be missing a big chunk of his body. He kept its eyes on the flying creature, he’s sure his bullets hit dead on so he wasn’t the only taking damage; he was ready for the next attack.
