I got a PHD in KICKING YOUR ASS!

Come, my child... come to me. There was a reason why Eiji hadn't followed the others. He didn't really care to follow that nobody. The angry mob, those idiots... they had been so gullible to believe that full-of-himself xemnas -or whatever his name was- and his gang were on their side. Pawns. Nothing but Pawns. He couldn't care less about the stupid organization and their plans right now. His hands were full with far more important things. He'd gotten what he wanted and now there was only one thing left to do before destroying those black robe-wielding clowns and their leader: The darkness. The voice. It pounded in his brain stronger than ever. He had avoided it as much as he could, but he'd grown sick of it... and he knew it wouldn't stop until he put an end to it once and for all. The darkness... not in literally, like these silly creatures made of darkness, no... but the real darkness. That which lies deep within the heart of men. That which needs a living heart and all the hatred it is capable of. If Eiji had been capable of it he would be frightened by it. The vicious, raw HATE incarnate. One wishing not to devour people's hearts but to inflict pain in them... torture them and watch as they hurt and despair and cry and beg for the sweet mercy of death only to have it denied. But alas, Eiji was much like a nobody himself. Not having lost his heart but have it buried so deeply inside, locked behind so many doors, chained to the very basement of his being, and so well-hidden it might as well not exist at all. That's what had kept him sane... for the voice pounded hard at his brain, looking for a way in. Calling... not allowing for even a moment's rest. No matter where he went, what world he was in, it was buried in his mind and wouldn't leave. And now it was here. He remembered Hiro's words, "They're going to the Third District. It's as good a chance as any, maybe we can follow them back! Leave the Shadows in the city to Fairy Tail!" He smirked as he felt the cold grasp of death crawl slowly across traverse town, straight from the heart of the first district. You just sent them wizards to their deaths, Hiro... Eiji paced towards the source. It was easy for him to tell where it came from, as he was extremely sensitive to life, the vital energy in all: ki. And ki was slowly being sucked away from this entire place... and everyone in it. Come... "Oh I'm coming alright..." Eiji's fists clenched and unclenched as he walked and he was surprised to realize that, for the very first time since he could remember, he was feeling nervous. Edited by Eiji, Mar 11 2010, 11:34 PM.

More than a Ghost on a Shipwreck
|
Danny had been wondering through Traverse town for more than a few hours. He had gone to the Wo Shing hideout, and to the Warehouse in Niwa, and it didn’t seem like Eiji was anywhere. He was sort of feeling alone for the moment. It wasn’t that he missed Eiji, no that was a stupid thing to say, but Eiji was really the only person who wouldn’t kill him outright, and who Danny knew. Danny didn’t mind being alone, but it seemed like things were getting ready to heat up, and he didn’t want to be alone when they did. After hours of looking he finally just stumbled across Eiji in the first district. He was standing alone, which wasn’t usually a different thing, but there was something wrong with him. Danny walked a little closer. He knew Eiji would easily be able to sense his presence. Eiji was always doing that, and at first it really creeped Danny out, but now he was used to it. Danny grew closer now. He was a meter or so away from Eiji and he stopped. His hands. They were clenched more than they usually were. Danny didn’t know everything about Eiji, but he had been under his tutelage for a while now, and so he knew when something was wrong. How did he know something was wrong? Because he had never seen Eiji like this. “Master…” Danny said, but trailed off. The word still made him cringe as his lips curled a little bit. The reason he did this though was because he was starting to be fine by calling him master. Before it was like self-defeat. He was low, but now he felt like he had been learning a lot from Eiji. There was no doubt that he was growing stronger. Danny even started to respect Eiji, and it was true what he had said to himself before. He had once given his life to save Hyakuji, but now he gave his life to Eiji. “You don’t look well, are you okay?” He had been taught to lose these emotions, or at least that was what he was trying to be taught, but it was probably not going to happen any time soon. Even if Eiji was someone that Danny loathed, he was still his comrade, and thus he cared about him. This nearly killed him. In such a time, had Danny truly grown to worry about the man who had made him who he was? Sure he might have respected him, but did he really just ask Ishida Eiji if he was alright? You are a different person now, Danny! Perhaps it is time to accept that this is your life. Don’t hate yourself so much, just embrace it? No, don’t embrace it, but own up to it. You aren’t about to die again. Admit that you are selfish and do what you must to survive, and if this is what it takes then do it. “I know you usually don’t talk to me, but I’m here if you need some help,” Danny finished saying. And that was when he realized, truly, in those last few words, this wasn’t about survival, this was now just who he was. |

Eiji scoffed at the boy, who seemed to think Eiji could possibly need his help. But this time, it's not impossible that I might... He merely glanced at Danny once before shaking his head. The kid was still slow when it came to being aware of things, but he was sure his special abilities would make him realize what was going on soon enough. Life force, Ki, comes directly from the sun after all... so he should probably start feeling drained soon... "You'll be busy enough helping yourself. Are you really that numb?" Eiji looked forward as he walked somewhat faster now... towards the dying trees. Trees that adorned the street they were walking on, lush and green, tall and magestic. Only now they looked a grayish brown, as they quickly withered, their leaves falling like rain and turned to dust as they hit the ground, dry beyond belief. The almost-deserted town itself seemed to shiver in the sudden chill. The sky was darkening extremely fast even though there were no clouds in sight. As if night had suddenly fallen, only there was no real darkness and yet, it felt as if the entire place was darker than pitch-black. Eiji could almost feel the hand of death grab at his chest, piercing through his ribs and attempting to grab whatever was behind them. His feet seemed heavy and things before him seemed to move in slow motion: the birds dropping dead on the spot before him, the remaining heartless running away in panic, frightened to the core, trying to get back to the third district as quickly as possible, and finally the first of many: the headless, bloodless corpse of what looked like the oldest person he'd ever seen... and yet he knew that mere moments ago he'd been a young wizard in his mid twenties. But Eiji still walked forward. "Come closer, my child..." Danny and anyone nearby could now hear the voice, like a whisper- no... it was no whisper. It was weak, almost trembling, and yet it possessed a terrible hunger, a longing, a kind of desperation no other voice had: it was a dying man's last breath, uttered over and over again. "Daniel... you should probably just go with the others. This is no place for you." But he knew Danny, and he know the boy wasn't going anywhere. He was loyal, even to his killer. More than a Ghost on a Shipwreck

Danny walked with Eiji. There was no doubt now that he was worried about his master. He didn’t ever see Eiji this worried about anything, and that made Danny more nervous than anyone else. Eiji was stern, and he was able to handle just about everything that was thrown at him, or at least that was what Danny had seen. Now that he was visibly shaken, Danny couldn’t help but be worried. That was when he felt the drain on his power. He didn’t like this sudden crushing feeling that he was going to be powerless, but it didn’t matter anymore. Danny had learned to gather energy from elsewhere. He still had the light inside, and that could last him a while before he passed out. If it started to get to the light that was deep down, he would really be useless in a fight, for he would probably be unconscious. This was not a very good situation to be in, but then it got humorous for Danny. Eiji told him that he should just go away. Try to help the others. Was he serious? He wanted him to just leave. Danny couldn’t help it, he just started laughing in Eiji’s face, which was probably not the greatest of ideas, but it didn’t matter cause he did it anyway. “I’m not going to leave you, Eiji. You know just as well as me that I would never do that. Not to mention that if this is something that has gotten you worked up then I need to be here to help you. Despite what you may think, asking for help isn’t such a terrible thing. My light abilities have proven more than useful against shadows and heartless. Don’t offend me by telling me I’m not of any use. I can hold my ground, and I’m going to make sure that you can hold yours as well.” That was when there was the voice. The horrid voice. It reminded him of the thing that had been in the warehouse when he had first woken up that long time ago. When he had met the wolfgirl. Danny grew cold as he watched the life around him suddenly grow dead. This was no ordinary enemy, and this made him a little bit excited. It was time to show Eiji what he had learned since he had been in this multiverse. Was this foolish? That was probably true, and in fact there was no doubt this was foolish. But he had taken a vow to stand next to Eiji, and so he was willing to do that. There was no doubt about it. “I’m not going to leave Eiji, and if whatever is doing this is making you worried than you can count on me being here. Tell me what to do and I will do it, but tell me to retreat before the action even starts and I’m going to have to disobey. If you don’t understand, you have an ally!” Danny smiled, but he was shaking on the inside. If his master was going to act shaken, then he wasn’t about to do the same. He was going to fight the darkness, and he was going to win against it! |

"Make a note here," a chipper voice, smooth as cat litter, strung itself between the musing boy and his brooding master. From above them, sitting on a half crumbled wall with legs a swinging, was Illist Fray. One of his ghost-like minions floated beside him, scribing down his observations. "Painfully blind hope; prominent. Even in the face of the unknown. This...will require further testing." The Remnant scrawled down the dictation as it's lord watched the boy and Eiji. Wiping away some rouge strands of hair from his face, Illist hoped down to sit in his entirety in front of the pair. Like any traveler of the planes, Illist had an innate sense for disturbances within them. Between the gather dark in the middle of the day, all of nature seeming to stop and rot in place and the Heartless leaping their way out of the area; the disembodied voices had given him an idea about where to start. The Third District he'd been pacing over to would have to wait. He gave Eiji and his companion a warm, friend sort of smile. It was about as plastic as a doll house breakfast. A thin veneer he was too much in the habit of giving to put his would be test subjects at ease around him. "So I couldn't help but notice the pan-dimensional whispering in my head. You wouldn't know anything about that would you? " He knew they would understand the rhetorical question. It was a statement of commitment; a declaration of his curiosity. Being a mad scientist; that meant he was looking to put it in jar, cut it open and see how far he could throw it. Edited by HazzaH, Mar 11 2010, 05:54 PM.

"So this is the way another world ends, apparently with a whimper instead of a bang," Ada thought to herself, looking up at darkening sky. There was certainly something afoot, her affinity her own ki certainly allowed her to feel the ki of the outer world. There those who could use said technique, using the ki of the surrounding area, asking for the living things to give up their power to strengthen you. She had not yet attained it but she could sense it herself, the world was giving up it's ki but it seemed to be forced? Someone was gaining ki, while the world around her lost it... Walking through the streets of the First District, before she allowed herself to be taken into the hustle and bustle of these Nobodies and their drama, she wanted to take a stroll along the foster home she had for herself in the town of Traverse, nostalgia was an emotion which she bore but knowing the end of this world which was simply a mixture of worlds, she simply strolled along the candle lit streets one final time before coming to the First District Square for the final time. The Asiatic woman breathed slowly and calmly as she sensed it better now. Her grey eyes had come across the Ki of Ishida-sama. She could hear a whispers at her ear, almost to drive her insane, as if dying in front of her at every breath of her's. Worse than Lilith? A smile came to her face to see that from all this was someone familiar yet completely unfamiliar so to speak. Wo Shing Society's ever grand Imperator, their Caesar or possibly their Caligula? Her striking red-dress with the Asiatic butterfly motifs, her lovely black pumps pitter-pattered against the cobblestone ground as she caught sight of two others close to him, a Daniel whom she had worked with in the prior Wo Shing mission and the other man as well, Illist? She could sense it, did she really need her White Eyes, to actually see his Meridian System just to make sure she was right? No... <"Ishida-sama, Daniel-san and Illist-san, bonsowa-ru, great to see you as these interesting turn of events are taking place."> Ada spoke to them of course using the native Hyakujian tongue and japanese dialect. <"I'll stick around, something is up. I sense it...And apparently we can hear it as well."> Ada added. Just was going on...she was going to find out. |

OOC: Hmm. Divide by zero. Carry the infinity. Account for KLAXBURG's uncertainty principal and... OH SHI— "Well, nice to see a familiar face around here." Seth dragged his sword along the ground. He had decided not to bother with what everyone else was doing after all. "Nice to see you again kid. Haven't seen you since that thing in the place with the guy." He nodded at Ada. He looked around towards Illist, Daniel, and Eiji. "And what do we have here? A gathering of people with power no doubt. Well it seems I'm not the only one who decided to screw helping those losers. Whatever they're raving about isn't important to me so why bother?" He stared directly at Eiji with a large grin on his face. "I had wondered where exactly this strange feeling was coming from. Because I know this feeling all too well. Darkness. A darkness so crushing that merely being around it is enough to drain you of your very life. The same darkness that I'm all too willing to deal with as long as it means greater power. Power that I need to make my dreams a reality. So... are you going to stop it? Or are you going to see what you can get from it too? After all, everyone hears the call at some point in there life." And he had after all. He'd lived so long he barely remembered when he first heard it. All he really remembered was that eventually he gave in. And when he did he found within it a strength he had never dreamed of. Now all he wanted was to get more and more power until nothing could stop his will. Until he became God. It'd be the only way to get everything he wanted. Or was that the madness that came along with that power that wanted that? He wasn't sure but he no longer cared. "So then... what are we all doing?" |

Eiji halted for a moment as he noticed the others. He was aware of their presence but hadn't really care to even look until they started to talk to him. His people, mostly... of course he wouldn't expect them to run and save the world if there wasn't anything in it for them. What he could expect from them was loyalty, it seemed. It was good to know he could rely on them somewhat. Then there was this newcomer as well... and he seemed to know what he was getting into by talking to him and the others. After a brief pause, he started walking again. "Fine. Tag along then." The voice got louder as they came nearer to the source and Eiji began striding, as if he was actually being drawn by the voice, as if he was being commanded to. Only he he wasn't. "I don't know what or who this is... this voice. I don't care either, I'm merely going to shut it up once and for all. You're all free to take whatever you want from it... but I doubt there's anything but death waiting for us." That's when the whole place was shaken by what seemed like a huge explosion... only there was no fire. The ground shook, buildings were sundered and crumbled around them, though many were still standing. Many a wizard from the fairy tail guild rushed to what seemed like the source of the explosion. Moments later a few of them were seen flying through the air, crushed and very dead long before they crashed to the ground. As the group neared the place they could see a man lying on the ground, his back resting on a wall, barely able to lift his head. He was bleeding profusely. Terribly so. So much that there was a huge pool of blood formed underneath him, now streaming through the cracks on the ground, spreading all over the place in what seemed like long rivers of blood. "H-Heeelp... p-please.." Towards him walked a huge... thing, for it barely resembled a man. it looked a lot more like a strange, deformed animal. Its size far surpassing that of a human. He turned to glare at the newcomers and snarled furiously, punching at a wall next to him. The whole building crashed and turned to rubble in a couple of seconds. "P-please..." The man stretched a hand out... then exhaled as his hand dropped, and his eyes shut closed. Then the voice echoed loudly, seemingly filling the entire space around them. Come closer! |

More than a Ghost on a Shipwreck
|
Danny became nervous when more people showed up. He was hoping that he and Eiji could take care of this problem by themselves. It would be a good shot to prove himself, and not to mention that it would have kept things a little more low key. Now there were more people here, and that meant that things were going to go from quiet to action packed…well maybe. More people do mean more help. Not to mention that more people mean less attention on yourself. Wow, that’s my train of thought? More people means that I have a better chance of surviving if things get rough. He laughed at himself a little bit, but not loud enough for people to hear. The amount of time that he had been with Wo Shing had really started to change him, and that wasn’t a terrible thing. Well, it was, but he didn’t seem to mind it as much anymore. The idea of self-preservation could be considered more honest than an altruistic attitude anyway. That was when the earth began to shake. It was violent and Danny almost lost his balance, but his abilities had greatly increased through his time in Wo Shing and he quickly caught himself, almost making it look like he didn’t stumble at all. Maybe Wo Shing is good for me. The wizards began to fly through the air, and Danny began to smile. This was going to be something interesting. It would be like the good old days, like the Hyakuji High School days. This could be fun. This could really show what he had learned. Danny began to like the idea of this fight, but deep down he was frightened. What sent those wizards flying was dark. The light inside of him began to flourish all of the sudden. It was like it was trying to counteract the darkness that was in the area. They all ran to where the wizards had been thrown from and that was when Danny saw the man lying on the ground. How badly he wanted to help him, but he knew that it was useless. That man was already a dead one. He just didn’t want to accept it yet. Then the monster came. It was horrid looking. It looked like some sort of deranged animal or something. Danny was taken aback, but didn’t really look to shaken. He had seen hell; this was close to it, but not quite. This was about the time that he began to glow faintly. But it became a little bit more noticeable. Somehow he the light and energy that had been drained from him earlier had come back at a great amount, and he didn’t understand why. His green eye began to glow slightly too. “What’s going on?” He said quietly. He felt courageous…and sort of stupid. What was going on with him? This thing was making his power grow, where before it had sapped it away. Danny stopped worrying about it, now was not the time to. He simply looked forward at the beast and prepared for what ever it wanted. It wanted them closer, and Danny wanted to get closer, so badly. But he wasn’t about to make the first move. “I’ve seen death before, and I’m not afraid to die again. Hell, it might be sort of nice. Whatever you command Master, I’ll do to the best of my abilities.” Danny took a defensive pose, glowing slightly; he wondered how all of this would end. Will I finally get the peace I want, the damnation I deserve, or do I get to prove myself all over again? |

Like swallows in the morning mist, more faces appeared from the swiftly colourless world they found themselves in. It was becoming quite alarming, until the fire less explosion of force that shook the world to it's foundation. Illist grabs the side of his free floating Remnant to steady himself; pulling himself back to his feet with it's coat tails; a concerned look plastered on his face. He wasn't one of strong fortitude, and while he accepted this, it was rare that he enjoyed others seeing the comical result. He hauled himself back to his former demeanor, and look at the others around him in not particular focus as if nothing had happened in a ploy to remove any unprofessional from him. Then it got interesting. Illist watched with wide eyes as wizards were sent flying like technicoloured snow flakes. Evidently most of them were dead from the impact, those that weren't couldn't scream from having the wind knocked out of their fragile bodies. Illist had the Remnant take this down, making sure to note any matter of interest; the silence rain of wizard bodies not doing much for lifting the atmosphere. Which was, at least to Illist, trying too hard to be oppressive and went right into laughable without so much as stopping at humorous. Having followed Eiji and the others, albeit at a reasonable distance, he treated them the same way a blind man does the stick. A breadth of the unknown requires a tentative touch...or at least the touch of someone else while he watched from a discreet location. While the words of dying wizards held no interest to Illist, the hulking behemoth of black as pitch form and intent, did however spark some curiosity in him. It's static, animalistic behaviors belied some intelligence not even it's deep roar could hide. It's man fist sized fist puncturing the wall near by sent the building it connected to tumbling down; bellowing out dust and mortar through out the area behind the main group, right over Illist. "Oh joy..." Illist remark was cut short in the plume of dust that engulfed him. Letting out a dry cough as the debris settled, he and his Remnant brushed off his coat; but were stopped mid sweep as the voice announced itself again. he flexed his fingers, turning them into the 5 heavy duty scalpel blades he often favored for his dissections. He grinned and took a place nearer the others; staring down the beast before them. |

So there was a possibility of dying, eh? Didn't matter much to her, stepping out of your front door, you take that risk daily, hell your house could be your killer too. Nobody was safe from it, as such, it didn't matter if the risk was the way it was. Suddenly the place shook, she knew it was going to be right in front of them now, that whatever it was had just popped it's head out to greet them. The ground shook, buildings exploded but the fire that should have come out was nowhere to be seen. Taking a mental note she then came to see the Rookie Fairy Tail wizards rushing to the epicenter of it all but found themselves propelled into their untimely death. They would walk over towards the epicenter themselves, finding a man lying on his back, bleeding himself to death. Rivers running down the uneven cobblestone of Traverse Town...She simply became further on guard. Rightly so, a huge deformed creature whom had made this all occur came to glare at them, Ada would come to a stance. "Looks like someone wants to play," Ada whispered with a smirk, a battle was already in her. There was no fear in her eyes, what could be described as tenacity or audacity was what burned in her eyes. |

There was another quick tremor and suddenly the shadows from all the buildings around started to stretch towards them really fast, as if there was a big light behind each building, only it was still dark. The shadows covered most of the street they were walking on and suddenly everyone could feel as if somehow the shadows became solid as they engulfed them, turning hard like stone. They were trapped, at least momentarily as the shadows held them in their place until they found a way to break free. The large beast seemed to attempt a grin but only managed to look even uglier. The large orbs, quite separated from each other and whit no visible whites seemed to be fixed on Eiji, who was still the closest. "I do apologize for the inconvenience, but you'll go first." Immediately after speaking the surprisingly clear words with the sweet tone of his voice and perfect pronunciation, showing a much superior intelligence to what his coarse exterior suggested... the beast launched itself forward at tremendous speed. Too fast even for Eiji to succeed at breaking free. Too fast for him to even speak. The sledge hammer of a fist crashed onto his stomach, the power of his barrier slowing it down somewhat but still unable to stop it from knocking the wind out of him. The shadow embracing him remained unchanged, acting like a normal shadow would, which meant it hadn't become solid, it only felt that way to those trapped in it. It seemed they were on their own, as the wizards were busy taking care of the heartless who were fleeing as far as they could from the first district they had eventually turned into a giant horde, still eating people's hearts in their wake. Tha large monster simply continued pummeling Eiji for all it was worth, weakening Eiji's barrier as it took most of the damage, for it was clear a single punch from him could kill. At the same time, the shadows squeezed everybody else, seemingly trying to break their bones. Then the voice was heard again, loud and clear; not in their heads this time, it was real sound and felt much worse than the mental version of it. "Now... it is time for me to rise again... and you will all be a part of it." Beyond, perhaps fifty yards ahead, there was another strange, fire-less explosion which blew a whole block to dust and a dark figure rose, floating in the air. It had wings, it seemed... they looked like bat wings but it was too far to tell. And yet the voice rang loud and clear for all to hear, with its harsh, decaying sound which sent shivers down one's spine. "Feed me... " Suddenly the feeling some of them had noticed (that of slowly losing their strength) multiplied tenfold. Now everyone could easily feel how their power, their physical strength and their very life force was being sucked out of them. |

The young man groaned as he pulled himself up from the debris. It seemed like it was the second time he’s woken up lost and confused. His mind was a pure mess and the pain in his head was immense. He felt as though he had been struck down by a large truck twice in a row. He took a bearing of his surroundings and spotted several people being held down by pitch black darkness in front of a large black creature and another big black creature flying up in the air several yards away. The sky was abnormally dark, and there was a constant feeling of loss of energy plaguing him. This was the purest of definition of nightmare there could ever be. Ernesto had been walking in a confused daze ever since he arrived in this town. He didn’t know where he was or how he got here. Next thing he knew, he was knocked out by an explosion. He was alright; thanks to his armour which absorbed most of the damage, though it knocked him out. He got a bad case of deja vue when he saw the darkness restraint the people. It was the same… It was the same as before, his comrades had been killed by such darkness, and the big black thing had to be the cause. Ernesto had to do something. He rushed through the debris trying to avoid getting sighted by the creature, and tried to flank it. He went as fast as he could; hearing the incessant “thud” of someone getting beaten over repeatedly. He peeked through the remains of a wall, and spotted the creature. He had a shot.
