The Black Reaper
Duo was headed straight for the Nobody when his sensors warned him of the incoming Keyblade. The pilot interface system quickly calculated that it would not strike him if he stopped. Like that was going to happen. One of his wings shifted forward and knocked the weapon away as it reached him. "I never asked your opinion! You're the one underestimating me here. I'm not gonna lose to this guy! He continued on his way, the Heartless below him looking up as he bypassed them all. A few of the flying ones tried to stop him, and ended up in pieces for their trouble. Duo wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to take this guy out, and it seemed he wasn't the only one. 'He uses sonic attacks, so it looks like I have the advantage, still I can't take this guy lightly.' He thought as he reached his target

He raised his scythe as he was mere feet away, and brought it down with tremendous force, the energy blade ready to tear through whatever it came in contact with.
___________________________________________________________

Ganta finally caught up with the rest of the group, only to be faced by thousands of Heartless. His eyes hardened as he looked over the swarm of black bodies, each and every one of them looking just like the ones that had taken him from his home. This was it, it was time for him finally get the payback he had been looking for. Winning here would mean he was one step closer to getting home. He wasn't about to let a bunch of cannon fodder stop him from getting what he wanted.

He slid to a stop, his gauntleted hands forming the seals for one of his spells. His hands were a blur as the steel on his hands struck itself, making a metallic ringing. With the last seal he shoved his hands forward, palms flat and fingers curved forward. His eyes seemed to blaze as he spoke, "Eternal Furnace!" With those words, a torrent of flames of incredible size erupted from his hands, tearing through rank after rank of Heartless. He started sliding backwards from the force of the spell, but held his ground as the whole area around him was filled with a sweltering heat.

After a few more seconds, he released the spell, the flames dissipating. The smoke cleared to reveal a clean shot about ten feet wide cut clean through the Heartless horde. The ground itself had been carved by the fire, and was now charred and smoking. Ganta took a deep breath to rest himself for a moment before charging toward his enemies. He had managed to create a separation in their ranks, which would be to the benefit of him and all those fighting. Summoning his own keyblades, and bathing them in his own flames, Ganta leaped toward the first rank of Heartless and began his merciless slaughter, a blazing blur cutting down every Heartless that lay before him.

Seth had immediately run after everyone else. All he knew was that someone had shot at Hiro. That, and now they had to take that person down. It's not that everything else didn't matter, but since that's all he knew there was no point in thinking about anything else. There was an enemy to beat, and beat him Seth would. At least, that's what he kept telling himself. He wasn't really sure. As strong as he was he felt it wouldn't nearly be enough to help him win. He'd have to rely on the strength of others if he wanted to live through this little adventure.

Seeing people already attacking the mysterious man he wanted to help out. Then again, seeing as how some of them seemed to be attacking each other he decided against it. Out of the corner of his eye he say a man laying waste to large amounts of heartless around him. "Might as well back that guy up. If there's one thing I'm good at, it's getting rid of masses of enemies." Seth focused his mind, drawing energy from the darkness around him. "A little thing I picked up during my travels." He smirked as the energy took the form of a keyblade. "Destroy all in your path, Ruin's Edge!" The summoning complete, Seth rushed towards the masses of heartless.

Carving through a lot of them to reach the man in the midst of them he called out, "Mind if I join you? I kinda feel like going heartless hunting too. Might as well clear the area right?"

Kazuma ran across the roofs of the buildings in the second district of Traverse Town, heading to the gates of the Third District. He had heard the sonic attack on Hiro from his apartment and had rushed back to find out what had happened. When he had heard the details, he had rushed back to his room, gathered some extra equipment, and went after the other people who had already gone. Now he was leaping from roof to roof at a speed achieved through a combination of training and magic. As he ran, Heartless would occasionally attack him, but were quickly cut down by one of the three circular ice blades that were orbiting Kazuma.

He soon arrived at the gates to the Third District, coming to rest on the wall that separated the Second and Third Districts. He glanced at the people on the Second District side, a group from Arcadia by the look of them, then into the dark streets of the Third District, where hordes of Heartless thronged. In the distance he saw his Commanding Officer in the Order, Nickle, Lord Commander of the Northern sky. Though he had never met him personally, he had seen him before and had a description of his Keyblades and Hearts Armor. He hesitated for only a moment longer before launching himself out over the Third District.

While in midair he began to glow, following his CO's example and calling forth his own Hearts Armor and Keyblades. For a moment a block of ice encased him, then it shattered to reveal a streamline suit of clear blue armor, the Speed Mode of his Hearts Armor. In one hand he held the Keyblade Snowflake, which appeared to be made from the clearest ice and the purest snow, while in the other hand he held the Keyblade Blue Flame, which seemed to be made of both blue fire and clear water.

Now fully outfitted, Kazuma landed in a crowd of Heartless. With out stopping, he leaped again, and this time it was like a bomb went off. The force of his kick off was so greatly enhanced by the Speed Mode that the force caused an explosion that sent Heartless flying and left a crater in the street. Each time he landed and kicked off the result was the same, and before long he was within site of another set of gates.

As he landed again he saw a massive flame carve through the Heartless a street over. Well, it seems I'm not the only mage here, he thought as the flames died down. He then turned to the Heartless in front of him, which were hesitating due to the power emanating from him. He looked down at his two Keyblades with slight dissatisfaction. He was used to using polearms, not swords. Then he had an idea. He put the blades end to end and focused on an image of a Naginata. There was a flash of light and the two Keyblades were gone, replaced by a single bladed weapon reminiscent of a naginata. "Much better," he said, turning to the Heartless again. His Armor morphed, changing into Attack Mode. After taking a single breath, Kazuma launched himself into the fray.

Meteor On Ready?
Suddenly, Heartless. Thousands of them.

That's what greeted the two Kamen Riders as they appeared in Third District. Sure, this was the district most known for being overrun... but it was never this bad. Never before had so many Heartless amassed in one single spot--they were always spread out and in hiding, waiting for prey. This group was gathered entirely around what must have been the gate Hiro had been talking about.

Thanks to the nigh-instantaneous speed of the ZeroLiner (or rather, its ability to arrive before it left), Zeronos was first on the scene, leaping down from the ZeroLiner with ZeroGasher drawn, crushing a few poor lower-class Heartless upon landing. She then gave the mighty sword a great spin, at the very least knocking away the Heartless trying to surround her and at best destroying them. All so she could have just one spare moment so raise her left hand high and catch the bokken thrown from above! Except that when her hand contacted the familiar wooden sword, it glowed brightly and transformed into a KeyBlade, apparently as a result of how twisted the world had become. After all, how did someone who wasn't involved with this place wielding such a specific weapon?

"Let me say this to start!" Taiga yelled over the din of the battle already beginning to erupt. For some reason, her yell actually managed to freeze the Heartless for a moment, making them point their odd yellow eyes every which way. "I don't know why, but I'm more than fairly strong now! Get the hell outta my way or die!" Her little speech over, she ran headfirst into the Heartless Horde with swords swinging, choosing to hack and slash a path to the portal with her newfound strength!

Ayane arrived afterward, zipping into Third District atop her trusty autonomous motorcycle Autovajin. As soon as she saw the massive horde awaiting her, Faiz performed a surprisingly athletic handspring off of the bike, planting her right palm on the Faiz symbol atop the bike's gas tank and grabbing the bike's handlebar with her left hand before pushing off and landing on her feet. This caused the motorcycle to suddenly twist and transform into a robot that immediately took to the skies and opened fire on the Heartless. It also meant that she had the base of the Faiz Edge in her left hand, just waiting to be activated.

[BATTLE MODE]

"Now that AutoVajin's taking care of them from the air, I guess I'll take care of things down here," she said to herself, extending her right hand. She could have taken Taiga's approach and just run in with two swords. However, even with multiple Blades at her disposal, she preferred a Garrenranged approach to the problem. After all... not using my gate wasn't part of our pact, was it, Aisia? You can scold me for it later, when this is all over!

"Gate, Open!"

Two rings of blue light, one inside the other and spinning in opposite directions, appeared before her extended hand and sent a powerful blast of wind straight through the horde. Powerful enough that she inteded to just carve a path straight to the portal in one shot! She'd save the Faiz Gear for when things got more personal--it wasn't particularly suited for use against thousands of opponents at once. Though she did eye the red wristwatch on her left arm, she had to reason that ten seconds just wouldn't be enough time to take care of all these Heartless, no matter how fast she was.

JP was the first to arrived and approach Oxkito where he stood, just as the Heartless horde behind them began to attack everyone else that arrives soon after. Under the hood, he raised an eyebrow at the impudence and stupid bravery this one was exhibiting by approaching, unaware that Oxkito could just step up and kill him and be done with it as he pleases, only that that would be counter-productive: he needs these people alive when they get there. Numbers will be their advantage and Oxkito would only just nudge them in the right direction.

“There is nothing to ask,” Ox replied calmly with inherent coldness in his voice. “They are everywhere, and they are many. From where they came from we don’t care, but we merely use them for our need.”

As several people and attacks were now flying towards him, Oxkito braces himself, spreading his leg a bit and clenches his fists while drawing breath. Without warning, and without caring who was in front of him at the moment, he sang.

It was loud, and it was very high, quite obviously a tenor voice as well. A hurricane force wind blew from his mouth and all those people and attacks that would have hit him would be blown away, even Nickle’s lightning attack would arc somehow away from him while leaving some of the others with a loud ringing in their ears.

After he had finished, he then laughed. “You kids and your temper, tsk tsk tsk.” Oxkito berated loudly so everyone can hear him over the din of the fight going on everywhere, reaching for the twin tuning blade in front of him that wasn’t blown away earlier. “If there is anything you all won’t be able to do is find our world much less than have a chance with just one of us. Me.”

“If you really want to find out world, if you truly want to stop us from using Kingdom Hearts, then by all means, why don’t you all wish for it, see if that’ll do you any good, eh, keyblade wielders?!”

With that, more Heartless of all types (save for boss-class ones) emerge and pope out from nowhere, threatening to overwhelm our heroes gathered here before the odd looking wall sporting a huge gate. Oxkito stood before it, facing everything with a stance that could only mean, ‘Come get some”.

Okay, so. The way to the World That Never Was is here in this thread, but to access it, all of your characters need to do something. I left very obvious hints almost everywhere and it's up to all of you to decide and do what it is that must be done to get to the World That Never Was. Once there's a majority of right actions, I will open the way for them.

Now get to posting now!

As Oxkito's voice belowed out and deflected his lightning, Nickle drew his two keyblades together in front of him in an X-shape and braced himself as the soundwave hit him. The armour vibrated violently because of it and as such forced Nickle to let his heltmet retract itself backwards, exposing his head. His ears were ringing and he was slightly disorientated, but far from being unable to continue acting. He was thankful though, to those who had assisted in stopping and deflecting the blade that was thrown at him. Why kind of idiot would think that an Organisation member would just spit out information? It's that exact kind of mindset that the Organisation lived to trick and twist.

Nickle heard what Oxkito said. What was he playing at? As the Heartless began to appear en mass now, Nickle began to slash at them, his keyblades tearing them apart as he did so. A Large Body began to powerslide towards him, Nickle countered by jumping and springboarding off of its rotund back, landing and letting loose a shockwave that turned several Soldiers to black mist. There has to be a way. Why would he give us advice of how to get to the Organisation's world? Even if it is just wishing for it to be true, it could be worth a shot...

Nickle slammed the Earthshaker down to his left side, impaling it into the ground, before drawing Kaneryuu and stabbing it down in the same fashion, only on the opposite side of him. His lightning shot out to both blades and formed a coiling mass of power that soon formed up into a protective sphere. By using them as conductors, Nickle as able to not only form the sphere, but create a continuous shockwave on the ground due to powers also being earthed that had a 1 meter radius, which further prevented the ground Heartless from drawing near him without being harmed.

"Everyone! Please listen! If it is the power of our hearts and beliefs that have lead us this far, then surely they will continue to lead us! The keyblades are a manifestation of your beliefs and heart, so lets make them channel a new belief! A belief that we can make to a world that never was!"

Nickle faced Oxkito and the gate. Raising the Road to Dawn, Nickle pointed it towards the Nobody as blue and white lightning cracked around him, "You're Nothing and Nothing is trying to prevent us from stopping Kingdom Heart's completion at every turn. So now, I wish you would dissappear from here and that this gate to Nothingness would be unlocked." Whether Nickle had done it or whether his powers had acted of their own accord, a straight blue beam of lightning and light fired forward at Oxkito and subsequently, the exact middle of the gate behind him.

Nickle did not know whether this was an act of the Road to Dawn keyblade, or his own subconscious act of acting Oxkito, but he trusted it none the less. He would wish, he would believe and if everyone else did the same, then they would succeed.

Do the right thing...
It was almost unreal, standing there as an entire assault took place around him. No sooner had he asked the Organization member a question did shots erupt over his head toward the target (not to mention the nine million other attacks by everyone else who had an arm and/or trigger finger). Again, JP felt no fear. He didn't feel threatened, because he knew he could always escape. Something told him this belief would be his downfall, but for the moment, he put that out of his mind.

“There is nothing to ask. They are everywhere, and they are many. From where they came from we don’t care, but we merely use them for our need.”

I think I get why people describe me as amoral sometimes. Maybe I take things informally. This guy, apparently, is extremely evil, yet I feel no desire to take his life. In fact, I simply want to learn something I may never find out if I take no action now. What would be the point in killing him if I learn nothing about all this? There has to be a reason I can do this. And what about this Kingdom Hearts? Sure, it will grant you your wish. But at what cost? Is it dependent on purpose?

JP looked disappointedly at the man (Xing), as if he had been dealt a personal wrong.

"We, huh? So you guys have no more knowledge of them than I do. Unless you're lying to me said JP, watching him draw his breath, clench his fists, and spread his legs.

Immediately, JP "maneuvered". The localization took place over a distance of a few feet, but it was a prolonged one. From the mirror of this area, JP watched as everything launched at the man seemed to "blow" away from his mouth. Once it was over, JP "maneuvered" again, somewhat glad he had decided to ask a simple question instead of just launch attacks like a dumbass.

“If you really want to find out world, if you truly want to stop us from using Kingdom Hearts, then by all means, why don’t you all wish for it, see if that’ll do you any good, eh, keyblade wielders?!”

Do I? Everyone else seems to want to. But why does it sound like such an ominous invitation? Is it just me? No. Nobody just invites someone to stop them from reaching their goal. There has to be more behind that. Unless...well, what lies in their intent is something that depends on us. Does it mean us fighting against them, or falling into their trap? But...what if there is no trap? Is there something I don't see? Something we don't see? And-

Before he could finish that thought, however, someone else spoke up.

"Everyone! Please listen! If it is the power of our hearts and beliefs that have lead us this far, then surely they will continue to lead us! The keyblades are a manifestation of your beliefs and heart, so lets make them channel a new belief! A belief that we can make to a world that never was!"

JP immediately recognized him as Nickle, the guy he met at the Gallery. Instantly, everything about that day came flooding back into his memory.

It's that guy JP thought, smirking now. This guy must've been a natural-born leader, because JP actually found himself stopping his arm from raising to summon his Keyblade. The man made it look so simple, but also so inviting. It was as if...

"You're Nothing and Nothing is trying to prevent us from stopping Kingdom Heart's completion at every turn. So now, I wish you would dissappear from here and that this gate to Nothingness would be unlocked."

...It was the right thing to do...

"You have admitted use of these Heartless for an unconscionable purpose, and provide no further info, JP said, his forearm extended toward the Nobody and the Gate. His keyblade, Guilty Conscience, began to form, and he continued to speak.

"I cannot judge you harshly without hypocrisy, but I will say this: Mis-information is your weapon. I intend to combat that by finding out everything. The truth. I wish that this gate will unlock!

Sure, not exactly the most bold thing said that night, but in truth, JP was beginning to feel a certain numbness. He wanted so hard to open this gate and find out more. His Guilty Conscience, fully-formed, shot a beam of spiraling black-and-white energy toward the exact same spot as Nickle's beam, where it was held.

JP knew that the black part of the beam was the Darkness within him, but...what was the white light?...

What does it take to best one of these buggers anyway? Lavender wondered in her head as she rose to her feet after Oxkito unleashed that spectacular Black Bolt-esque sonic attack that not only invalidated the attacks directed at him, but even knocked some of his opponents onto their asses. Needless to say, the high-pitched tenor voice left the aeromancer's ears ringing for quite some time.

And she thought her violin-playing was an assault on one's ears... but this one was worse. Selene crawled out from underneath the wing of her summoned Wyvern, which took the song attack for its mistress - while she didn't get buffeted by the direct force of Oxkito's counterattack, the Wyvern couldn't stop the sound effect which also left the Briton's ears ringing. "Thanks," Selene said as she patted the Wyvern's side as it rose to its feet, growling softly as it did.

"Cor blimey!" Selene exclaimed as more Heartless of virtually every type appeared. Planting her Keyblade and sword of light into the ground, Selene drew her ritual dagger and bled her hand, painting on the ground the runes for a Flame Ward. Blazing and flaring with tongues of flame running along its lines, a glowing orange spell circle appeared on the ground as soon as the last rune came into place, burning any Heartless that stepped within the spell circle's radius, keeping them from getting within ten feet of her.

"Are you saying the way to the Nobodies' home base will be opened to us if we were to wish for it?" Lavender asked Nickle as she summoned an aerowhip to retrieve her Keyblade, Wind of Change, from the ground and back into her hand.

As for Selene, she instinctively knew what needed to be done as she pulled Soaring Hope out of the ground, the Briton pointed the Keyblade at the gate. "I want no more than to see what everyone has lost being regained, and that all this could somehow come to an end..." The redhead said, closing her eyes in deep thought before looking ahead. "So I wish for this gate to be opened, show me the way to this world that never was!" Please, let this work... Selene thought. Magic was afterall the power to create miracles and make wishes come true, and the concept behind using their wishes to open the gate was comfortably familiar to her. But is it the same thing? She could only wonder.

"Even though you stand before us as our enemy, the memories of the time I used to call you friend and partner stay strong," Lavender remarked as she pointed her Keyblade at Oxkito. "And I wish to save you from this wretched state of existence... I wish for the gate to be opened!" Lavender thought of Faith, and how she wished what she wished for Otoki could also be done for Faith.

"Someone tell Lavender we can't remain as sitting ducks here!" Jen said as she soon went over to where Star, Meglumar, Yumi, Erin and the other Arcadian reserves were stationed outside the Third District gate on standby. Obviously the Arcadia leader's orders for half of the team to hold their positions couldn't be adhered to if they were to choose self-preservation; not that entering the Third District was any better though. They had to get out of here, and fast! And preferably, to where those Organization XIII Nobodies call home, because she certainly wanted to kick their asses for all the damage they've done!

"Listen everyone!" Lavender relayed to the Arcadians still at the gates to the Third District. "The final assault has begun... follow my instructions; summon your Keyblades! Use the power of your beliefs and wishes to open the gate to the Nobodies' realm!"

Wishing? Sounds illogical but alright,Ryo thought. He closed his eyes and began to wish. "I wish I could go to the Nobodies' Realm,"he wished over and over.

"You won't get far like that,"Django said.

Ryo looked up. "What are you talking about?"

"Your heart still has darkness enveloping it. Let me help you with that,"Django said as he made a wish. "I wish he could come with me to the Nobodies' Realm,"he said over and over. He pointed his keyblade at the same point which other key bearers were pointing, only Ryo's heart was between point A and point B.

Terion, stay away from my heart until we get to our destination,Ryo warned in thought.

Terion could sense the light. Yeah, I kinda noticed that...

Damon leaped into the horde of heartless, slicing into them with both keyblades, which he called up as he landed. He wasn't exactly happy with this. Fighting an army of heartless just as they were going to try and attack the nobodies.

As he was cleaving into them, though, Lavender once again came on over the Arcadian link. Wishing and the keyblades, eh? Well that would be fairly easy. He had a lot of wishes. All pertaining in some way to murdering the nobodies as an end result.

I wish...for a way to end this conflict. I wish for a way to find the nobodies and bring peace. I wish for a way to find the nobody world so I can end this and find a way to stop the nobodies. I wish for the way to save my home! He thought as he raised his keyblades up.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Meglumar watched on from the sidelines, his eyes serious. as he got off the Wyvern. He wanted to help, but orders were orders. He watched on as Star comforted another Arcadian. "Zeras ot remti..." He muttered. These nobodies were bringing in heartless. Did they have a plan for if this happened? Did they plan on Arcadia and the rest deciding to take the fight to them?

Lavender sent out the message, and looked to his Keyblades. Wishes? Wishes were just a way of desiring something really hard. The only thing he wished for, hoped for, was getting Star back home. Would that work?

...Well, nothing else came to mind. It would have to.

Keyblades...please. Help me accomplish my goal. Let us end these fights. Let me find a way back. Let me go forward, so that I might return us back to where we began. Let me win, let me make a difference!" He hoped deeply, as he closed his eyes and focused on these things with all his heart.

Chizu felt the sound knock her back. She quickly went into a backflip into the air, spreading her arms as she caught the wind to steady herself. She landed on the ground neatly, a few feet from where she started. Chizu held onto her keyblades and glared at Oxkito as he spoke of wishes. She didn't buy it, but apparently the others did. They began wishing. She frowned as Lavender asked them all to do the same.

Wishes. What in life could be accomplished just by wishing for it? If all her wishes came true, Chizu wouldn't even be here in the first place. She'd be home living a normal life with her normal family, with friends that were still alive. Still with her. She would never have to lose anyone ever again. She would never have to feel pain ever again. Her grip tightened on her keyblades as she continued to glare at Oxkito. Maybe that was someone else's life, but it wasn't hers. If she failed here, it would be nobody's life.

Her life...her pain...in the end, it was secondary. Because she knew what it was like to lose, and she knew that there were people that had never lost anything. In a way, that was how this Chizu was different from the Chizu of two years ago. The Chizu that wanted an end, no matter who she had to step on to get to that end.

What do you wish for, Chizu?

What did she wish for, in the end?

I want to fight them.

Why?

Because.

Because of what?

Because I want to get my world back. Because I want to help the others. Because I want everything I lost here to have meaning.

But you want to fight Kinclex specifically.

Yes.

You wish for vengeance?

No.

No?

That's wrong!

He betrayed you. He hurt you. You hate him. But you don't want revenge?

I hate him. I want to fight him. But...I don't...I don't want to be that person who only wants revenge again.

Then why?

Why are you asking me this?

To test your resolve.

You're doubting my RESOLVE?!?

You're always resolved, Chizu. You never know what you're resolved to do.

...

What do you wish for, Chizu?

...I want an end.

To what?

Everything.

Your life?

NO! ...I want...I want an end...to the Chizu who would hurt everyone just to get her way. I want to end that side of myself! I want to end the Chizu who can't stand on her own.

That weak person...who only knows how to fight and to hurt...

...I want to end that.

Will it end? Will it really end if you kill Kinclex today? Will you find your peace, Chizu?

...Doesn't matter. No choice.

Why not?

Because what I want...and what the world needs...right now they're the same f***ing thing. And I'll fight for that, Aether. You know I will.

For the sake of the world...

Mm...

I see...

Very well, Chizu. Wish.

She did, pouring all her wishes silently into her keyblades as she pointed them at the gate. The wishes that she couldn't put into words, she put into feelings now. Chizu closed her eyes and wished.

"Wishing? Is that what I need to do? Ridiculous." Seth continued mowing down heartless left and right but there was no end to them. He shook his head. He looked over his keyblade. "Maybe it is ridiculous. Maybe it's stupid. But apparently wishing is what's going to end all of this. Fine then, I'll make my wish as well." He carved a path through some of the heartless around him in order to break away. Pointing Ruin's Edge towards the gate, he focused his whole self on his wish.

"I wish," He began, smiling. "I wish for an end to all this. I wish to enter this world that I can't go to. I wish to break through this plot that this enemy is planning. Even if I don't understand I still wish to break it! I wish with all my heart for the power to accomplish those goals! Even if I have to go to the depths of hell I'll do it for the chance to get back what I've lost. I wish to end this fight! Though I've sold myself to darkness in exchange for power I'll break through into the light! For the promise I made. The promise of a better world. I wish to fulfill that promise!"

He continued pointing his keyblade towards the gate. "Come on. Even if my heart is falling into darkness I don't care. As long as I can fulfill my wish I don't care if the light within me fades into obscurity. So come on, make my wish come true! So long as I can fulfill my promise... nothing else matters."

"...Yumi..." the voice seemed to come from very far away. It was only when the accompanying hand was placed on her shoulder that Yumi realised someone was trying to get her attention. Emerging partially from her daze, the girl recognised her battle companion from Shinya, the other girl's face full of concern, sadness, and warmth. "Star..." she mumbled, her voice empty and hopeless. "We'll fix this, Yumi," Star said, but Yumi didn't know if she was trying to convince her or herself. "We've got to. We've got to make it so that what he did counts for something. So...rely on us a little, m'kay?" She gave the other girl a tentative smile.

Yumi flinched. Even the slightest reference of 'he' brought back the reality of Jameson's death all over again. Although she appreciated the kindness that Star was showing her, at that moment she was unable to respond properly. It was no good. It seemed that the old Yumi was gone, buried somewhere beneath a mountain of grief. And the new Yumi... she wasn't someone she recognised. Cold, unfeeling... a robot, built for following orders. That was what she had become, in the span of an instant.

"I'm sorry, Star," she managed to say, her voice croaky and unstable. "But right now... I don't think I can be that person you want me to be; the one you knew before. Jam- he - ...he put his trust in Lavender, so I'm going to follow her orders. That's all there is right now." The tiny part of her deep inside that still retained the real Yumi was saddened at her own words. Here was a girl reaching out the hand of friendship, trying to comfort her in her grief, and all she could do was reject her goodwill. Just what kind of awful person had she become?

"Someone tell Lavender we can't remain as sitting ducks here!" a girl Yumi recognised from the Open Mic night called out. Lavender seemed to receive the message fairly quickly too, as next thing she was broadcasting a new message. "Listen everyone! The final assault has begun... follow my instructions; summon your Keyblades! Use the power of your beliefs and wishes to open the gate to the Nobodies' realm!"

Yumi did not sigh, although she ordinarily would have in such a situation. That was what the old her would have done. The new Yumi emotionlessly observed that this was it. The new orders had come. It was really time to fight. There was none of the usual dread that accompanied a battle. There was nothing. Just orders, and her will to fulfil them. A light had gone out within Yumi with the news of Jameson's death, and it would take something truly special to reignite it.

Unsure just what Lavender meant by Keyblades, Yumi nonetheless attempted to do as she was commanded. Untethered to life as she was at that moment, she found it difficult to grasp onto any firm belief or desire. Save one. She desperately wanted, more than anything, for Jameson to no longer be dead. Was that really too much to ask? Those damn heartless, with their Organisation ringleaders. It was all the fault of those monsters. They had destroyed her home, her family, uprooted her life, and now they had taken away her best friend. It was time for them to pay, and for things to go back to normal.

It was time to save Hyakuji.

Closing her eyes, Yumi wished desperately for a way to this ridiculous World that Never Was. Although she had no particular desire to go there, she would follow her orders. And if things went according to plan, if wishful thinking ever actually achieved anything, then perhaps, just perhaps... they would all soon be able to go home. Now that was a thought worth dying for.

Roz had taken to the skies after the black cloak had fled to the third district, Alexia was being a guide as she started saying about what was happening below..

People engaged in a battle of sorts, each wielding a strange weapon which seemed to effectively cut through their enemies.

Alexia felt this strange tugging at her heart, it was as if something were coming loose and she had this strange urge to fight.. "Mama.. lets land.. we'll " abrupt silence then "....ooooh Look I see someone familiar.." she said pointing over her mother's shoulder as she pointed down below..

Roz;s eyes trained upon said person/s She spotted several people that looked familiar, their names floated in her mind

Nickle

Selene

Chizu

and several others which she had seen their faces but not known their names.,, were engaged in combat.

Roz came flying in with hands on fire and a blazing trail behind..

Star's brow furrowed as Yumi flinched, a disappointed look crossing her violet eyes for a moment, followed by more concern. She hated to see people in pain. It was why she had tried so hard to help J feel better, why she had tried to give Meglumar a start on the new world he found himself in. It was why she joined Arcadia in the first place, instead of remaining neutral and finding a way to get back home. It was why she was here, ready to fight and maybe even die for a world that she really had no connection to.

But she knew that what was going on inside Yumi was something that she didn't have the power to fix. J was broken, but he was also in love with Tsubame. His love for her, in the end, was what Star had used to give him happiness. And Meglumar needed stability while trying to look for a way to find his home again, she had done her best to give him that. And she could fight Heartless. She could fight them as hard as she could whether she died trying or not. But in the end, she could blast all the Heartless off the face of the earth and not bring back Jameson. Or Ein.

Nothing she did would heal Yumi now. Nothing but time. Star slowly nodded, withdrawing her hand from the other girl's shoulder as Jen came rushing through. She would give Yumi time, and space to grieve. But she wouldn't exclude the girl. She would, perhaps not quite right now during the battle but in the future when things were settled, hover in the periphery until Yumi decided to reach out for her on her own. And she would probably follow Yumi into battle as well, just to make sure she didn't get herself killed.

Grief made people forget the value of their own lives.

She listened as Lavender's broadcast rang through the Arcadia connection and pulled her other keyblade out of the ground, tightening her hold on it. She knew that Jen wouldn't be able to hear it, and so for the sake of the other girl, Star turned towards her. "Jen," she said. "This is gonna sound incredibly crazy, but apparently the only way to open the gate is to wish it open!" She paused for a moment as she considered what she had just said. Jennifer Chase was a person of logic, something like that was unlikely to impress her unless Star came up with the logic behind it.

"If you think about it, it makes sense," she said, "Since our keyblades come from our Hearts and Hearts seem to be linked to emotions. So I guess if we all feel like we want it enough, something might happen. Anyway, no harm in trying, right?" She hoped her assessment about Jen wasn't wrong as she turned in the direction of the other Arcadians and closed her eyes, trying to think about her wishes.

"...I wish..." she slowly began, carefully considering her words this time. What did she wish for? "...I wish that I could fix this...that I could somehow put everything that broke back together. I wish that I could make everyone happy again. But I can't do that. I'm not capable of doing that, at least not by myself. So...right now...in the meantime...all I want to do is be able to try to fix things. Try and put together what was broken. So...unless I'm talking to the air and I'm gonna end up looking like a babbling idiot in the next ten seconds, please open the gate."
