The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)
He shouldn't have touched the ground, or left the safety of his Clockwork Angel. Those mistakes will end his life in a heartbeat, had he had a heart. From the 3rd floor, two small circles were carved into the glass window and removed from the inside.

From what he could tell, Maxer's power could only work on organic objects. Not inorganic, otherwise the clothes themselves would age. And thus, a spread of six red flares was launched from that hole towards Maxer, ready to explode on contact. Ever seen a flare go off at ground zero? It's so pretty....it's blinding. Therefore, even if the Angel intercepted them, the flares would go off, temporarily cutting off the line of sight.

That, of course, was followed by the orb of light from the second hole. SH targeted Maxer's butt awhile he was distracted by his clapping and music playing. And due to the building's limitations, Maxer would be unable to send Angels against him since they were too big to fit through. He felt a bit weak in the knees, but figured he was just hungry. Killing all the heartless on the stairs works up an appetite after all.

Midori facepalmed herself. Attacking wasn't working. And for all their insane tactics, the others were more effective. "<This is getting more and more idiotic. Do I really have no choice but to go along with this inanity? Very well, if I really must.>" Turning to Maxer, bringing a claymore to her hand and pointing it at him, she said, "<I thought we were here to fight, not to live out our fantasies in place of our failures. What's the matter? Didn't make the audition for American Idol or Dancing with the Stars or anything else like that? Is that why you're going about this so pathetically? Ha! This isn't even entertaining. I'd have more fun watching paint dry. Actually that does sound more fun at the moment.>" To tell the truth, Maxer's latest video actually annoyed her a bit. She did her best not to show it though. After all, she wasn't fat. No way in hell. She always did whatever it took to keep fit.

She continued, "<This is so boring and stupid. And this is supposed to be a challenge. That's really sad you know. Of all the great and powerful Nobodies of the Organization, we get stuck with their mentally challenged friend. Not that I'm surprised. From the moment I stepped in here I was already bored. To tell the truth I was surprised there was even anyone to fight us at all. So I guess for that I applaud you. But given your performance so far, it would've been better if there hadn't been anyone else here but us.>" She tossed the claymore out of her hand and guided both towards the clockwork angels. "<These toys of yours are pretty stupid too. I mean, why not do something cool like have them combine into one super huge one or something? Instead we get a bunch of dancing buffoons that look like they're going to fall apart at any moment.>" She guided the blades to dance around the enemy, slashing them from behind with one claymore while the other distracted them.

"<Not sure if this will work. But psychological warfare might be the way to get to him. If upstaging him gets him that riled up, then he must have a need to impress. If he gets the feeling that we're not impressed, he might just slip up. So far he hasn't gotten anymore dangerous. What's the worst that could happen?>" She got the nagging feeling that she was getting too old for this kinda stuff. That, and she should get married really soon before it was too late. She wondered why she even felt like that at all.

NOTICE: Midori has aged to 24.

"FAT?!!" Lilith cried as she crunched her fist, "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOUR SO WHITE AND NERDY TO USE THAT SONG..." Lilith exclaimed at him with such a face of anger and wrath, it would scare even with your eyes close. But it did not matter, she would finish him off using the help of all the Otaku from Hyakuji, from all the worlds. HE WOULD MEET HIS END THROUGH THE GODDESS OF THE WORLDS, SUZUMIYA HARUHI!!! "Clockworks...YOUR TIME ENDS NOW! HYAKUJI UNITES IN SPIRIT! OTAKUS OF THE WORLDS FOLLOW ALONG AND END MAXER'S EXISTENCE! HARE HARE YUKAI-GO~" Lilith declared as the video of her memory of it showed up on screen...

Lilith's costume had suddenly changed to that of Haruhi's on the large screen, her Hair even became that short and all. She began starting to do the same dance moves, and as Yuki and Mikuru showed up behind, Commander Lavender Smith of Arcadia and Star Ricci whom she met around Halloween took their places as each one of them respectively, also in the respective costumes. As they continued, suddenly Kyon and Itsuki showed up and behind Ada stood THE HIRO TSUKASA and EIJI ISHIDA OF ALL PEOPLE, respectively dancing in the same costumes as the their counterparts. Shockwaves erupted as these Hyakuji stand ins were actually like the other stand ins, Heartless molded by Lilith's ability to control darkness. She did however ask the others for unity in this attack, possibly JP would follow along with the Hare Hare Yukai, finishing off Maxer with a team attack...

IS THIS THE END?! Probably not...>_>

Not now. It's not time yet. No opening...

JP was waiting, waiting for the perfect opening to launch the attack.

JP is now 22. Feeling thoroughly un-inspired. How many Clockworks are left?

....Oh. No. She. Didn't. The angels slowly began to collapse one by one, before only Maxer and one angel stood. He was busy cleaning his ears out with Q tips he pulled out of his pocket. "Yawn. Hey! Claymore Lady! Nobody. Insults don't affect me at all." He said, as his angel took flight. That was when flares went off behind him. one after another. "Eh?" He said turning as he brought down the rim of his hat to get a better sight.

That was when he heard a noise from above as Clockwerk intercepted a blast of light aimed at him from the building above. However, Clockwerk was by far the weakest of his minions. He was the first one after all. The red angel exploded in midair, and silence echoed through the area as the giant television on the skyscraper cut to static then became blank, as if it had turned off. Out from the smoke walked Maxer, his nobody cloak back on.

"Okay. That was a dumb move. You lot just killed my general. You're all F***ing dead." He said snapping his fingers, that single snap echoing out loudly thanks to the sudden silence. SH would notice that the building he had decided to hide in was full of Dusks. He would notice a group quickly jump at him and try to smack him around. Getting back to the ground floor was going to be hell.

Maxer meanwhile turned his attention to the three here. He pulled out his pocketwatch and made three slashing motions with it. As the third motion was completed, the watch morphed into a two handed blade, one that he wielded with only one hand. "Time's up. You're all screwed." He said as he broke into a run at JP and made a quick horizontal slash at him with the blade, the clock-face on the blade stopping at [result=1D60]54[/result] seconds. Should the strike land, he would be in mind-breaking, unspeakable agony for that many seconds.

The lone remaining angel, while wounded, still had enough sense to help it's master. It flew above Midori and made a stomping motion, hoping to either squish her, or knock her back with the shock wave that would follow.

Your post, Captain, has re-motivated me ^__^. I'm posting now because the original posting order had me at first anyway.

Of all the ways to end torment, I think people try to find the quickest, most painless route. But I don't think suffering (of any kind) would be nearly as bad if the emotional portion of it were taken away. After all, doesn't the hopelessness of recovery or lack of understanding in regards to a physical injury make it all the more unbearable. To me, it does.

Having focused on him the whole time, JP definitely set himself up for failure when he spotted the final Clockwork. It was heavily wounded, not long for this hell-hole of a world. His HUD displayed a wealth of information in his visor, which displayed read-out style as a small targeting recticle followed the Clockwork's form. This was an indicator that it was being tracked. A lock-on, of sorts. It was also what distracted JP from the incoming Maxer.

It wasn't something he expected in the least, even as he felt his Keyblade form in his right hand, his left foot going back as he instinctively attempted to brace himself for the strike (and to prepare either a dodge, parry, or counter). All in vain, though. He'd even forgot to perform a "localization" maneuver as this Maxer came within feet of him, the horizontal slash of his blade evident even from the first swing arc.

With true skill and reaction (even against objectionable odds), JP managed to lean back, his visor HUD providing no info as it rushed to obtain a lock-on of this guy. Too late. The blade's tip found its mark as it finished the sweep.

The blade crossed JP's jacket and flesh on his chest. Had the slash made it, JP would now have a centimeter gash above his nipples. Hardly lethal (albiet painful). But even that sensation was, for some reason, gone.

Instead of a physical wound appearing and bleeding out, his jacket and skin remained intact. The Keyblade in JP's right hand, however, disappeared instantly. For a moment, he stood still. But then, the meaning of Maxer's words finally made sense to him.

"Time's up. You're all screwed."

The former may be opinion, but, at least for JP, the latter was true. It would remain true for fifty-four seconds.

JP crumpled to the ground, slowly, but violently. Spasms. Writhing. His body did this and more, every so often jerking around on the roof of the skyscraper. Silent tears streamed from his eyes, but, surprisingly, no cries escaped his mouth. The agony and physical pain was so much that he could not even muster the energy to scream. Only gasps of breath escaped his mouth after every inhalation. His body, trying desperately to separate from the external stimuli afflicting him, went into emergency mode, using only what necessary measures were needed to keep JP alive, and his brain working.

Blood pumped through his heart to every vital tissue and organ. But unlike other instances of pain, his body could not manage to pump out its natural pain relievers to subdue him. While saving vital energy for his survival, this added to the fact that the pain could not subside within JP. He could also not pass out (at least yet), though his brain struggled to cause him to black out. Too much adrenaline was pumping, and not enough signals could be sent down his nerves to give the order to shut down. Not only that, but the intense gasping and oxygenation of his blood meant no lack of oxygen for his brain.

The pain was so great that, normally, one would wish for death. Unfortunately for JP, he could not even think of anything. It was as if his mind had been detached from his body as it jerked and squirmed and writhed in complete, unequivocal agony.

"<JP!>" Midori could only sit by and watch as he got hit by Maxer, and promptly fell to the ground convulsing. She watched as the remaining Clockwork Angel came right above her. No way was she going to let that hit her. She brought her claymores to attack it as quickly as she could. Not that they would get there in time. So she jumped back to avoid getting flattened.

Landing, she jumped back again, hoping to avoid the shock wave that followed. She didn't. "<Kuh.>" She hit the ground, hard. "<That all you got?>" The claymores finally reached their target. She had them impale it from opposite sides. "<Done already. Good.>" Getting up, she dusted herself off. She turned to Maxer and calmly said, "<Insults don't work on you right? Then I have no reason to speak to you anymore. All I will say for the remainder of this fight is this: You're going to die, and I'm going to kill you.>"

She was determined not to speak another word. If she couldn't defeat him quick enough, he'd probably kill JP. She sent her claymores to distract him while she summoned her keyblade. "<Come forth, Enforcer.>" The blade materialized in front of her. Taking it, she ran full speed to him. No more. She wouldn't let this idiotic bastard hurt anyone anymore!

Lilith smirked having finished off most of Maxer's Clockwork Angels suddenly her Keyblade took form, the Forward unto Dusk Keyblade which held a Heartless symbol at the bottom but without the thorns or chains. Her dark heart was able to give up the Live Bones she had symbol for the Pureblood Heartless believed to be the more powerful, the Invisibles were hovering in the air next to her raising their blades as she was doing with the Forward unto Dusk, certainly a jab at Riku's Road to Dawn Keyblade but more badass if the Mun can say so himself, her four Invisibles split into two groups, one group of two following her as she went flying through straight towards amassing concentrated darkness unto her Keyblade in combination to her Ki into her arm, while the others flew towards the last Angel alive.

Lilith would attempt to slam her Keyblade onto Maxer with all her might just as the sphere of concentrated darkness came forth from it, this certainly a new ability for them recently. The Invisibles would also attempt to cut him down on his other sides, attempting to finish him off with her and Midori. At least so he could get onto more fireworks for them, but if he pulled some Legend of Zelda shit, at least she could be defended as well.

Alright, skipping SH because he is separate from the group, and we now have to speed this up. From here on out, there are 48 hour autohit rules in effect: You don't post within 48 hours, you will take a hit.

Maxer suddenly span around, making a spinning slash of doom as everyone neared him his sword stopping on [result=1D60]35[/result], hopefully inflicting that many second of agony. However, this came at a price. He was struck by all the attacks, and was now bleeding quite a bit. A Dark Corridor appeared behind him, and he leaped into it, appearing in the center of the plaza.

"Well done, well done! I dare say my primary plan was foiled. I will not be able to see the day where you all are destroyed. But, this falls perfectly into plan 2. Not my preferred plan, because this means I will have to wait a few centuries to destroy the world. But no matter." He said, clapping for this little group. "Have fun with the Eternal's Torment!" He said lifting up the Aries Lucavi Stone. "GAME OVER, YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He yelled out, an impossibly bright flash emitted from it, and before they knew it, they would find themselves on a giant floating...platform thing in the middle of an empty abyss.

A low rumbling sound could be heard, and before they knew it, a large, almost demonic looking figure appeared before them.

TOKI-OH, ETERNITY
((Yes, you just got BOSS SUBTITLE'D))

"EXISTENCE......MUST....END...." The beast slowly roared out, as suddenly horrific visions of the past would come flashing into every person's mind. Again, it seemed the power of time was working against these people, making them slowly suffer.

Eternal Torment:
As the fight goes on, painful memories will constantly flood the minds of the enemy. It eventually where it will get to the point of causing the victim to experience every single bad event in their life at once, over and over. The goal, simply put, is to break the foes, and make them willingly cast away their hearts into nothingness, if only to stop the unending pain.

Rather than allow herself to get hit by Maxer's sword, Midori backed away with keyblade ready to block any attack. At least her claymores hit their mark. She was unsure as to what he was going to do. He had suddenly backed off and mentioned something about Plan Two. Then she saw him produce that stone. She was sure it was something to watch out for. She tried to get into a position to defend herself as the stone emitted an incredibly brilliant flash. Stunned, she stumbled around before finding out that the arena had changed.

A large, horrific beast roared out, "EXISTENCE......MUST....END...."

Suddenly, flashes of memory assaulted Midori's mind. She was suddenly caught in a rush of emotion. Emotion that she had managed to supress for each individual event but was unable to do so when they came at her continually. She dropped her keyblade and sunk to her knees. She gripped her head, crying all the while. She wanted to scream but nothing came out. "<Please. Please stop. Stop it. STOP IT! STOP! PLEASE!>" Every little emotion she had kept in, that she told herself wasn't important, was flooding her heart and mind.

"<I have to...... make it stop.>" Shaking, she gripped her keyblade and rose to her feet. Tears still streaming down her face uncontrollably and her teeth bared she glared at Maxer. He was going pay for this. He was going to pay dearly. She prayed that she would be able to finish him before it got to the point where she couldn't take it. While she had recovered somewhat from the initial shock she knew that the longer this went on the more she would start to crack. "<Not yet. I won't lose it yet.>"

While everything may have gotten worse (in reference to the summoning of the Beast), JP was unaware of the attempt to invade his mind. Forty-five seconds into this fit of agonizing pain, and still, nothing had let up.

Normally, a person would have passed out by now, had it been some external or natural internal stimuli afflicting them. But for whatever Maxer's blade had done, this was not the case. JP could not lose consciousness, because his brain was too busy keeping itself alive to send the signals to cut it off (not to mention every enzyme function was busy as well). He could also not feel any numbness (like when you cry your eyes out and feel light-headed afterward), because the painful simulation had not yet let up.

Of course, unbeknownst to JP, this might just end up working in his favor. Not only would he be rather unaware of what was occurring, but in terms of "bad memories", there was not much reason for him to worry. Being extremely sensitive, and living day-to-day with horribly heinous crimes on one's conscience (not to mention the majority of his heart being taken by darkness), it could be said that he would have developed a sort of "immunity" to effects like "mind breaking".

To him, those memories of "bad events" were everyday considerations. Things that one might have killed themselves over many a time. But not him. He had too much of a conscience and a heart (corrupted as the latter may be). In truth, sending JP into this frenzy of pain may have just been the thing Maxer might regret the most. For when it was over, there was no telling what JP might be able to do.

(OOC: My next post will start to involve memories, but not right away.)

"Man, that was a close one." SH sighed, glad that he was able to get out of the building full of Dusks that didn't move to attack him head-on. Despite his swordmanship, he wasn't good with unfamiliar opponents.

Still, this new realm dimension was rather creepy, but he'd seen worse. Atos, a digital being he once knew, created a entire world made of human corpses that shrieked and moaned, screeching for his death and revenge. Not to mention that he wasn't certain if this platform would tip over like a weighted scale into the abyss below.

There was a faint buzzing in his head, forcing him to recall the day his parents left him all alone with Kyra. And never came back, only sending him gifts by mail for his birthday and christmas but never showed up in person. He was only 6 years old then, in a cold and scary house that felt alive with monsters of every size and shape. Every week, a old foe of his parents came knocking at his door and immediately went all out with guns and swords in a lame attempt to get revenge. In which he huddled in a corner, scared out of his mind that today was the day he would die.

Although the nasty memory was fresh and clear, his eyes were still focused on the skeleton that once was Maxer. Sure, the pain of it was unbearable, but SH wasn't going to give up so easily against something that happened in the past. Now if Maxer had turned bad memories into reality, then he would be in trouble. "Oath of the Wand, fire!" SH yelled, despite feeling blood run down his nose, targeting the left white sphere below Eternity's skeleton hands, unleashing the light projectile towards it with utmost accuracy. Apparently he was recalling the memory of when he was thrown into the girl's locker room by jocks when he was 9, in which they were getting ready for gym. Then came the pummelling of a hundred fists and feet.

"Awww, Maxer I'll miss you...too bad I'll beat you to your goal, I'll tell you all about it hell kay?" Lilith playfully exclaimed, sticking her tongue and winking as he left and he began his 'Game Over, YEAH'. Lilith, a grand Demon Empress from the deepest circles of Tartarus, she was unafraid of whatever would stand before it. Simply because of her arrogance she came to believe that, if someone could have ended her existence it probably would have happened so many thousands of years ago. But this creature came forwards declaring he would end existence.

Recent memories of her past dealings with Samael, over the fate of Makai came forth. Her empty attempts to fall in love with the demon, but at the same time she could never truly allow herself to love the man for she knew how he was, how he messed with everyone else, manipulating them and all. Her memories of solitude become more pronounced, but at this analysis, it must have been why she toyed with humans so much. They could never really manipulate or defeat her, at least in her mind, they held no threat, she could be however she wanted to be. A fellow demon is only after making themselves superior, and bringing about destruction to everything...

She fell forward, her tears falling down her cheeks as the emotions of hollowed and empty living for the sake of it, became more and more pronounced.

Gah, forgot to clip the orbs out of the picture, they aren't really there.

SH's Oath of the wand collided with one of the bony hands, cracking it somewhat, but two of the other disembodied hands now moved out, one trying to grab onto SH, since he was actually attacking, and the other going for Midori, also trying to grab her. If the large claws should successfully grab their intended victims, they would then start to try to crush them alive.

"ALL....BEFORE.....YOU....MEANINGLESS." The creature roared out. "GIVE UP!" It cackled out. This beast was TRYING to demoralize them completely. This empty space, where no lite save for what they could make. Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. The darkest parts of their lives being forced into their hearts and minds, building in number, building in intensity.

"ONLY....DEATH....BRINGS...RELIEF." With that, the two remaining claws tried to slash into JP and Lilith

Seeing the claw coming directly for her, Midori tried to jump out of the way. Unfortunately, one memory that she had been dreading had decided to assault her mind at that exact moment. The memory of her learning of her parents' death. All the feeling of emptiness and loneliness that she had pent up for so long were waiting to burst out. This was one wave of emotion she really couldn't keep silent. She screamed like no one had ever done before. But that scream was cut short by the claw gripping her and thusly taking her breath away.

The intense pain from being slowly crushed to death served to momentarily give Midori enough presence of mind to direct her claymores to help her out. They repeatedly attacked the claw, trying to break it enough to force it to let her go. "<I will not die here. I won't die here!>" She gripped her keyblade and forced it against the claw with all her might. She was going to break out of that grip and smack that smug bastard in the face!

OOC: I just want to point out that the reason why Midori is freaking out so much more than the others is that the attack is super-effective. (/lame) Seeing as how she's stoically pent up her emotions, being rapidly assaulted by those memories that trigger them is doing an 'overload'. Just FYI.
