The silence that echoed through the entire area was deafening. Not even the wind was blowing in this world of nothingness. Everything was still. Silent. Dead. As he had thought earlier, this city was a reflection of those who lived in it. It lacked a heart. And this was AWESOME. STILL! This was a bit on the.....dull side. He, like any insane person, he'd always wanted to be a boss in a video game. He always wanted some form of kickass music playing when the enemy swarmed to him. Which they were going to any moment. He needed to remedy this. He snapped his fingers, calling out his number one minion, Clockwerk. "I need an organ." He said to his minion. The massive nobody bowed, and moved through a dark corridor, returning later with a spleen. "...I meant....I....oh never mind." He said taking the human organ. Hmm, maybe he could turn this into a set of bagpipes..... Nah. Even Insane People Has Standards. He tossed the thing back, before walking through a dark corridor, arriving at the top of the sky scrapper. The enemy would be coming soon. This was going to be fun. Well, as fun as someone who can't have fun could consider fun. |

Do the right thing...

This is definitely surreal. Amazed was all he could be. To think that, in all his travels, a place like this existed. When he entered that gate, he had no idea that he would arrive here. Hell, he could see everything (though he should use that word lightly. There was no telling what was actually visible in this world, and what wasn't). Was this actually the dark realm? Or some sort of manifestation of it? His Planar Combat Visor showed nothing unusual about this area, and the highlighted locale indicator stated [Light World]. He also didn't perform any "maneuvers", so why did it feel like everything was reversed? It was like the dark world was the norm, and the light world an anomaly. And what of the battle? If what he saw was right, he certainly had view over the entire cityscape. But while he saw material, he heard nothing. Even from this high up, he could feel no wind. Even the air seemed stagnant. Not humid, not dry, not cold, not hot...just...stagnant. As if nothing was alive in it. As if no molecules and atoms were moving and colliding with each other. A part of him said that this wasn't possible; that the foundation of matter itself could be dead in this lifeless locale... Then why couldn't he seem to believe that? The first step he took was all that was needed before he came around the corner, in full view of the roof of the skyscraper. It was clear and wide, as if battles would take place here. He didn't mind, nor did he fear that, but there was someone there. Or rather, two people. He immediately stopped, gazing upon both figures, but the shorter one (Captain) in particular. Again, he felt no fear. Almost incapable of any. But he did have questions, and could only hope he would have them answered. He could also summon his Keyblade...but for some reason, he felt no need. "I'm JP...JP Sonoda" he said, watching the figures behind his visor, which would conceal his eyes pretty well with how dark it was outside. The introduction was something he decided on at the last minute, unsure of whether a proper introduction would garner more truthful answers to the questions he was about to ask. "Who are you? And...do you know? Do you know what the Heartless are? What can you tell me about them?" He waited. |

Midori blinked and rubbed her eyes. This wasn't what she expected to be on the other side of the gate. This place was so... empty. Or rather, it felt that way because everything was silent. Eerily silent. "<I like being by myself in a quiet place but this is ridiculous. I can't even hear the wind here.>" She walked along searching for anything, anybody else in this place. The place felt so empty and devoid of anything that she felt a shiver down her spine. "<This crushing loneliness... who would want to live in a place like this?>" She kept walking not expecting to find anything. As she turned a corner she saw a man standing in front of her with his back to her. "<Oh. There's someone here after all.>" She was going to say something until she noticed that the man was looking at something. She turned to look at what he was looking at. It turned out that it wasn't something, but someone. Or rather, two someones. Just then the man spoke. "I'm JP...JP Sonoda. Who are you? And...do you know? Do you know what the Heartless are? What can you tell me about them?" Midori figured she should follow the man's lead. Even if he didn't know she was there the worst that could happen would be that she would startle him. "<I'm Yashura Midori. I have the same questions.>" She figured that would be enough of an introduction. At least, she hoped that would be enough. |

The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)
|
The first thing that Steve saw when he woke up (since he accidentally hit a light post by charging through the portal) was a large screen on top of a corroded black office building. Hundreds of video monitors and TV screens gleamed, filled with gray static before fizzling out into blackness. The ground itself had turned into ice, since Snowflake (being in front) absorbed most of the impact to the skull. "Lousy.....who puts a lamp post in front of a portal?" Checking behind him, he could clearly see that the portal had not closed and that part of his forehead was bleeding. With a brief sigh, he brought out a healpatch (a band-aid from EXE) and applied it, in which the complex circuitry began to seal and cleanse the wound. It was then that the main video monitor switched on, and he could see his memories as plain as day. The result was near mind-numbing, all the events in his life just zapped into his brain through the eyeballs. From birth, to getting Kyra, to watch Kyra become a rampaging beast, to cure Kyra partially, to becoming a Rogue, to join the Chaos Union, to watch the leader of the Chaos Union die in his own building, to becoming a ONB out of hatred, and so on. He could recall every life he took, every navi deleted during his travels, all were in self-defense or because they were about to do the same. Worse, he could recall how his parents left him isolated, alone in that house, day after day, week after week, year after year. His nose was beginning to run after a minute of this, the dripping of snot on his trembling hands snapped him out of the trance. The TV monitors went black once more, leaving him feeling a bit stupid as he wiped the gunk on the ground. A few quick glances here and there confirmed that the Heartless were not there yet, but he could hear some voices close by. Two boys, one girl. Two stood close by, their bodies shaded over due to the poor lighting in the streets. Something about an organ and information on the Heartless, he recalled from what the voices said. No wait....one was a Nobody on top of a skyscraper. A sneer formed on his normally expressionless face. "Commencing execution of the rookie." SH snarled, immediately launching himself forward with a accelerated dash towards the tall, darkened building. Fingering to the hilts on both sides of his short sword sheathes, he brought them both out and moved both in front like a pair of elephant tusks. There was a reason why he was heading for the skyscraper itself instead of using an elevator. Part of it was why he had 2 weird-looking, thick iron bracklets wrapped around each leg, which seemed to have complex components and small machinery built into them. Simply put, this Nobody was going to regret not facing him on the ground. |

*Twitch* *Twitch twitch* "THIS IS IT?!" The nobody roared out as he looked down and saw the three. This was pathetic! No! He could see from hear that Ox Kite had at LEAST twice as many foes! This was STUPID! Those people were stupid! EVERYONE WAS STUPID! He looked down and saw one of the humans rushing at the building. He groaned. What god had he offended to de- Oh wait. Right. All of them. He snapped his fingers, and Clockwerk, the red Clockwork Angel appeared beside him again. Leaping onto his shoulder, the large nobody took off down to the small group, leaving the human to run at the building. "This will not do. Not one bit." He said, looking down at these two. "I mean, seriously? Three people? Two of which are waaaaay behind the times, and one who has delusions of grandeur? "Seriously. Not even worth my time! Like, at all!" He said, Clockwerk rising up higher into the air. He raised up his right hand, and a pocketwatched formed in his hands in an overly dramatic fashion. "And that's bad for you all. See, I'm not Mexes." He said with an evil grin. Only two people would have known of Mexes demise, amongst these fools. And they were Lavender and Hiro Tsukasa himself, thanks to Thifax's meetings with that accursed leader of Arcadia. Still, NOBODY here had THAT information. "I am the Nobody of time. And yours. Is All. Up." He said as he looked down at each of them. "Thirty seconds up on the clock!" He said, making a reference to family feud as the pocket watch opened. "GO!" He yelled out, as 10 of his Clockwork angels formed above the three, as Maxer and Clockwerk rose above any attacks. "Dance, water. Dance." He said, a psychotic grin appearing on his face. An obligatory mission screen then popped up: "Kill 10 Clockwork angels before you die!" Or it would have if this was actually in Kingdom Hearts II.

"<Huh? What the? What's going on?>" Midori looked around in confusion. Something was happening to her. She felt strange all over her body. "<What did you do to me?>" She felt as if she was getting older much more quickly than normal. Something was up. Whoever that Nobody in front of her was it definitely wasn't in her interest to stay around him for much longer. She looked up to see to see 10 Clockwork Angels appear seemingly out of nowhere directly above her. "<Not only did he not answer our questions but he's attacking us right off the bat.>" Midori grasped her claymores and twirled them around. "<I'd ask why you're acting so crazy but I get the feeling that the response won't do much to explain. Whatever you've done I'm pretty sure it'll stop if we beat you. So I'll just break your toys and then get to you.>" First things first, she moved from her previous spot in order to get a better angle on the enemies. She readied her claymores, waiting for the most idiotic among them to charge her. As soon as one of them did she was pretty sure she'd tear it apart in an instant. "<I'd better not use my keyblade just yet. I don't know how long it'll last or how many more times I can use it. Seeing as how I got it really recently it'd be best just to rely on my own strength for now.>" She looked towards Maxer. "<Know this: after I'm done with these things I'm coming after you. I just wonder if he even understands what I'm saying.>" She turned towards JP. "<You there. Your name is Sonoda right? Do you mind helping me out here?>" NOTICE: Midori has aged to 19. |

(OOC: Okay, that is completely absurd. The Nobodies only interacted with Kyra, they never once met SH. If they did, prove to me which topic the Nobodies had met. Please edit your post.) Although he aged one year, there was no real change in his appearance. He did feel a bit discomforted by his shoes since his feet decided to grow a little bit. Which is why he skidded to a halt, puzzled to where his prey went off to and noticed the Angels coming down on them. "Speaking of water, let's see how much they vaporize. Oath of the Wand!!!!" The graceful Snowflake Keyblade formed in his right hand, in which he shifted and turned the handle 90 degrees to the left. Light energy magic gathered as all six points of the Keyblade gathered into the center. (OOC: What it looks like. Not too shabby, eh? Ignore the description below. http://superhurricane.deviantart.com/art/Keyblade-Snowflake-147469014) TSSSSEEEEEW! With a gust of arctic wind, a large ball of pure light shot out towards the closest Clockwork Angel, aiming for the chest. "I may not know how I got this power, but I will beat the freaking tar out of your mechs. Heck, I could shoot you out of the sky if I wanted to with this since there seems to be no drawbacks other than I can only fire one shot each time." (OOC: Editted. I do find it odd we can't use KH2 magic awhile the Nobodies can use all sorts of elemental attacks.) Edited by Super Hurricane, Mar 13 2010, 01:47 AM.

OOC: 1: Fair enough. My mistake, I made an assumption from what I thought I remembered in tranquility lane. I will edit accordingly. 2: You don't know Blizzard. You made no indication of switching into your drive form, at all. Your keyblade can't give you magic. It is, for all intents and purposes, a magic stick that beats heartless up. Hiro has said this before, and I even checked with him over MSN:
I believe you should edit accordingly. Edited by Captain, Mar 12 2010, 05:50 PM.

Do the right thing...

He was a bit surprised when the girl (Shadow) appeared behind him, asking the same question he did (or rather, adding to it). He heard her steps, which traveled easily through this sound-devoid air, hindered by nothing. It felt good to know he wasn't the only one in the dark, and that he wasn't the only one who felt the way he did. He was about to look for another person until he saw that subject (SH) fly at the Nobody like a missile with blades. Disappointment flooded JP's heart faster than a flood in New Orleans. To think that he had come this far to learn something so important, but would only be greeted by hostility... "I am the Nobody of time. And yours. Is All. Up." Wonderful. He's a Nobody. Shit just got real then, because he's obviously without intent on letting us know anything. Great. But what are these other Nobodies? I've never seen their type before... JP was somewhat unsure of what to do until the message appeared above him, explaining simply enough what the task was. He found it funny, though, that he would have to kill the Nobodies. He was under the impression they weren't really alive, honestly. He took the first step, looking at the Clockwork closest to him. Though he was unsure of what happened, he suddenly felt himself tingle, as if a sensation quickly passed through his body. The feeling passed, though, and he brushed it off as jitters, hearing the girl (Shadow) speak again. "I guess," he said, sounding unmotivated even in his own mind. The banner stating the objective was as clear as day, but he wasn't so quick to accept it as truth. "You have a strategy or something? Or should we just escape?" JP was unsure of that too. Yeah, he could escape very easily if he wanted, but that would leave him in the dark if there was something to be revealed by defeating this guy.

"Oh, you can try.....but I honestly don't think I have to worry about THAT happening." He yelled back down to Midori. He twirled his pocketwatch around, with a smile. A few more minutes and these people would need to be in an old folks home. Then he could put them in wheelchairs and kick them down some stairs! The clockwork angels, meanwhile, continued to buzz around in the air. The one SH was attacking with his light powers tried to fly away as soon as he spoke of the oath of the wand, but still got hit on it's right leg, breaking the metallic plating straight off of it. This made it roar with it's low, robotic voice, in frustration. Three clockwork angels flew away from the three, hovering above the ground. The brought their bladed arms to the ground, and began to fly towards the three. Sparks flew from the blades, and as they neared their foes, they made a vicious upward slash at them. |

"I guess, you have a strategy or something? Or should we just escape?" Midori shook her head to signal 'no'. She didn't have a plan for this fight mostly because she had no idea what she was fighting. As much as she disliked rushing in without a plan it seemed like that's what she'd have to do. As she was already in a ready stance, Midori saw the enemies coming and rolled out of the way. No sense taking on three tough enemies at once. She looked back to the Nobody. "<For a Nobody you sure seem weak. Are you really so weak that you need to rely on these buckets of bolts? Or was I just expecting too much from you? I guess I better adjust my expectations from now on.>" She turned towards JP and nodded. She hoped that he'd catch on and taunt the Nobody. Sure he wanted them to destroy his minions, but if they got him agitated he'd be sure to slip up and make the fight that much easier for them. Seeing as how her enemy was a Nobody, Midori felt no need to hide her abilities. She tossed the claymore in her left hand towards the nearest Clockwork Angel and then adjusted its 'flight' to go directly into the middle of the enemy. "<Let's see how they like that.>" She could still feel time passing quickly but she was sure this effect would end once they beat that Nobody. She just hoped that would happen sooner than later. NOTICE: Midori has aged to 20. |

The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)

"Lady, we're talking to a freaking newborn toddler. He clearly doesn't have the brains to understand English, or he would have come down himself." SH grumbled, removing his shoes as his feet grew a bit more. His fingernails grew half an inch as well for some odd reason. The Clockwork Angel clashed with Snowflake as he raised it up in front of him, since it was already in the form of a shield, 'catching' the downward slash. SH grunted, his legs skidding backwards a bit as his feet and arms absorbed the impact. However, the 6 pointed Keyblade had not reverted back, as a new ball of pure light formed in the center. SH smiled a bit, since at this close range, the Clockwork Angel couldn't back off fast enough. TSSSSEEEEEW! The bolt of light was fired point blank, aimed directing at the chest. |

Do the right thing...

That was a big mistake, buddy... With attacks like the ones these Clockworks were making, JP doubted as to whether he actually needed a plan or not. He watched as the three Clockworks dove toward them, their heavily-bladed arms trailing the ground and sending up sparks. His Planar Combat Visor HUD displayed them perfectly, indicating in meters how close they were getting, a red lock-on symbol for each, and a calculation of the energy contained in the momentum of each, among other things. The Clockwork headed straight for him, in particular, was the one that interested him. JP heard the taunts, and looked over at Midori, seeing her nod right after. Yeah, I get ya. But honestly, I'm not even in the mood. I'd sooner not talk shit, since I don't know if this guy will just summon more Nobodies or something. Whatever though. This is all stupid anyway. I just want to get it over with... The soon-to-be-fucked Clockwork was about to reach him. So close, in fact, that it brought its blade up to uppercut him. Oh well. Without even taking a step, JP "maneuvered", just in time for the blade to be where he was once standing, now replaced by a slowly fading dark image and blue and black streams of air. This all happened very quickly, however, slower than light, but not by much, this indicated by the very loud crack in the air as molecules collided with each other at high speed and high energy. The localization to the Dark Realm was very brief, just enough to fully form there after leaving the light world, and even a briefer amount of time was taken coming back into the light world. He summoned his Keyblade as quickly too, that whole episode adding to the energy in travel. All the energy that had been with him throughout the "maneuver" was multiplied by his movements, but it wasn't as much as usual, since he hadn't attempted to move before the jump was initiated. Why, you might ask? Because the Clockwork was already moving toward him at high speed. That thing provided all the energy and momentum needed to end its own life. JP "localized" mere inches behind the Clockwork, which was now passing where he formerly stood. The edge of the blade was extended outward, almost point-blank from what would be identified as the Nobody's face and throat. It looked like JP, who was slightly airborne at the moment, would use the end of the blade to somewhat "clothes-line" the Nobody, who, unless it was nearly as fast as light and probably not moving at all (though it had just dived in with an uppercut), would probably have its neck and face torn out. JP hoped the attack would connect, since he wasn't looking at it, and probably wouldn't turn until the force of the impact would jerk him around. His legs were slightly raised, ready to kick off and away from the Clockwork should the attack not land or anything. Because of the adrenaline pumping within him, JP couldn't really feel his shoes suddenly tighten a little, but not by much. His clothes, baggy wind-breaker as they were, were fine. He still didn't realize he was aging, but he could feel the effects. But who cares? The boy was 19 now. If anything, he was now entering the prime time of his life, where his physical and mental form would be the greatest.

Ada sighed, "This is what happens when you come fashionably late...You get stuck with the losers or crazies." Ada told herself as her mini telescope sighted out the situation from a building within the Dark City. "They didn't even roll out my red carpet. Guess I'll just have to show these boys and girls what it really means to fight." Ada whispered to herself as she took aim now with her Hookshot pistol to the battle below, choosing a good platform then the hook shot out at blinding speeds into the wall of another building and digging through it powerfully. Then pressing that same button and propelling herself straight towards a Clockwork Angel Nobody with her leg stretched in a kick, having learned to build up and release her ki with precise timing, waiting for the precise moment of contact to decimate him with some intense blunt force trauma. They called in the cavalry with her. Lilith was certain of that at least.

Maxer resumed whistling as time slowly marched on. This was becoming boring. If he was capable of being bored he would care. Still, no need to dirty his hands at all. The clockwork angels were doing well enough. All he had to do is wait. Time was patient. Time was cruel. Time was unstoppable. And so was he. Midori's claymore stabbed into the angel's armor and impaled upon it. The angel stopped and fell to the ground, the sword seeming to stick into something important. Possibly something that made sure it flew? Either way, it was now land-locked. And very hurt. It marched over to the girl and tried to kick her with it's large foot. SH, meanwhile, would see the clockwork angel try to block the blow with it's left bladed arm, though the light now made a rather sizable hole in it, probably rendering it useless. The angel roared out with it's mechanical voice, raising it's foot and trying to step on him. JP meanwhile had the angel right where he wanted him. The angel was spinning in mid-air due to the missed attack, completely helpless. Dodging had been a wise move, since the momentum was waster, and it had more or less tried to use it all at once. His blow struck true, actually slicing into it's neck fairly deeply, causing it's head to drop to the ground. The machine, now without it's senses of sight sound or smell, was left all but blinded. It slammed it's arms about wildly into the ground, in a frenzy of confusion. Ada, meanwhile, managed to pull the sneak attack off fairly well, knocking off it's chestplate armor as it spun around in the air, confused. What the hell just hit it!? Maxer, meanwhile saw this and stood up on Clockwerk's back, with a serious look on his face. "FOUL! OFFSIDE! PENALTY!" He said pulling out a yellow card from his sleeve. "Sneak attack and jumping in after the fight has begun! 3 more angels for you all!" He said as he snapped his fingers, summoning more of his minions and bringing the angel count to a glorious 13.
