((You know, nevermind. Elysse is KIA unless she's saved or whatever. Heck, I still dunno the layout of the room. But editing the nerdrage. Seems no one here understands I like to break the fourth wall sometimes. But eh, good luck to all of ye.)) Elysse got behind the barricade. Who knew the soldiers here were so damn accurate? Maybe they had some kind of gear or whatever it is. Maybe they were guided by some divine being. Nevertheless, she couldn't move one leg, and she had gritted the pain from her injuries. She was weakened, and merely laid low as much as possible. The grenade she tossed sailed back out of the room she tossed into and into the main space where the catwalk is. As for the guards near Elysse who have their guns leveled at her, the fact her rifle had clattered to the ground before she fell behind the barricade would indicate she's gravely injured, if they fancied a look, she laid, spread eagled somewhat with blood pooling from her leg, the uniform she wore bloodied and torn. She was down, and immobile. And she stared right at the room where the two were. As if wishing with all her might that they died with just her looks alone. And in such a case, they did. The blown out light fixtures seemed to sizzle and pop again, before a surge of electricity blew out the what remained of the lights, and Elysse, focusing, feeling out what felt unnatural, which was practically anything not grounded and not 'registered' to her in some way, like Danny and Ada, got a dose of lightning. The soldiers in the room where she directed it to, would've felt an minuscule tug on the barrels of their rifles as Elysse, trying hard as she can moved the 'magnetic tube' with a point of origin from the destroyed light fixtures back to the barrel and towards where she felt the magazine was. The lightning bolt kept in contact with the two men, as Elysse strained to keep the flow going. It was as if they were being electrocuted. The electricity would ignite the primer in the ammunition, cooking it off. By that time, Elysse slumped and crawled closer to a corner content at least that if she died, she gave those two boys the shock of their lives. "Dominique...we've been had." She said calmly, hoping the girl can hear her. For all her faults, Elysse didn't seem like WSS, but more the sergeant she used to be, caring for those under her. She didn't want Dominique to come in here and get slaughtered, and hoped the rest of her team was doing fine. She could still hear the rifle fire, sadistically smiling in the sense that the soldiers have yet to reload their weapons. My, my, has the world finally fixed the age-old problem of running out of ammo? She thought to herself. She sighed, feeling woozy from her injuries. She spotted a bloodied first aid kit, back where the rifle she used was located, just out of reach. See, the thing is with bullets. There are no such things as deep gashes. It's either miss or not. They aren't bladed instruments where one can probably survive a deep gash. So one of her legs was immobilized, amazing she summoned enough strength to get to cover. Now, as she laid dying from the bloodloss and shock, all she could think about was her life, and the spark that was in her eyes slowly dimmed as the pool of blood from the cut femoral artery in her left leg slowly widened on the floor, mingling with spent brass and shrapnel. IZUNAAAA DROP!
Dominique watched on, her fists clenched and eyes focused on them with intensity of someone watching a car-chase scene from an action film. As her allies ran fiercely into the hail of gunfire, doing their best to avoid being turned into lead pincushions by the forces of evil that descended on them she could only watch on in helpless horror as they were about to be quickly and painfully ripped to shreds! WHY OH WHY DIDN'T SHE HAVE THE POWER TO HELP THEM?! Oh wait that's right, she did. A wide, trollish smile lifted Dominique's perfect cheekbones, showing off her brilliantly mischievous teeth. While her gun would probably have sufficed in taking out most of them on its own, especially since none of them were paying any attention to the entrance anymore with all commotion going on inside the room. All it would take would be a few well aimed shots to puncture their ears so thoroughly it would rupture the blood-brain barrier and cause them all to die horrible, hemorrhagic deaths. However, when she had been communicating with the technology in the area only a moment before, she had discovered something oh-so much more fun! For whatever the reason, there appeared to be a large number of nuclear weapons stored just underneath their feet, beneath the base. Though not currently armed, ordnance was ordnance, especially in the hands of someone who knew just how to talk to it. "You want an encore? I'll give you guys an encore!" She said to herself, reaching her hands downwards. The biggest problems of course would be getting them through the floor, they were heavy and the ground didn't exactly WANT to give way (would you?)! Clenching her teeth as tightly as she could, Dominique extended her abilities beneath the bedrock of the base, not more than a few yards beneath them and mentally pulled with all her might. And nothing appeared to happen. Dominique continued to pull and pull, an unsightly (but still beautiful!) vein appeared on her head as beads of sweat ran down the back of her neck (it's much sexier than I just described it, trust me). "I said...come...ON! NOW!!" Yelling seemed to get the message across as all at once, the ground beneath their collective feet began to shake. "COME OOOOOOOOOON!!!!" With one final pull, the missile pierced the floor of the hallway, knocking Dominique squarely off her feet. Wiping her forehead, she looked with satisfaction upon what she'd done. There was little doubt they'd noticed that, they'd have to be crazy (or deaf, which would probably be her fault, sorry) not to, but it didn't matter at this point. It was on now. With another Grinch-like smile her mind ran over the makeup of the weapon and dismantled the exposed portions in a timely fashion. Metal plating swirled in the air around her, locking together around her body to protect her from the imminent gunfire. Next, the explosive deeper inside the weapon began to rise from the the hollowed-out carcass and, combining with the leftover steel, formed the shape of a large beam launcher. Finally, the uranium lifted into the sky, illuminating the darkened hallway with an ethereal, green glow before it set itself into the nearly formed weapon. Dominique quickly struck a pose, the nuclear beam cannon landing squarely on her shoulder where she caught it in perfect time. "Fear not, comrades and allies alike, the carcinogenic queen of chaos has arrived! I am the monarch of massacres, dutchess of doom and the wrong nuclear-powered DJ to mess with!" Dominique took a few light steps into the room (light being a relative term, she's holding up a few hundred pounds of metal with her mind, which couldn't be fun O.o), staring through the visor of her bulletproof helmet at the nearest batch of soldiers. "Game over, bitches." She pointed the barrel of the weapon at the nearest batch of enemies as it began to shine with an otherworldly green glow, particles of green light pouring into its epicenter. With a single pull of the trigger, it fired a wide blast of nuclear energy, melting a number of the soldiers in a single shot. Dominique quickly moved the beam up the wall, nearly melting their way to the other side as it reached catwalk in an attempt to turn them into radioactive mush as well. |

More than a Ghost on a Shipwreck
Things were starting to go from bad to worse. There was no way that the pillar was going to hold for much longer, and some bullets had already made their way through it. Danny had a nice bullet through his left shoulder, not bleeding badly, but it hurt like a mother. The rest of the bullets had been slowed enough that they didn’t actually pierce through him, but they were getting closer and closer to dealing a lot of damage to him. He prayed that there would be some salvation for him, and thankfully there was. Right after he saw Elysse, their leader jump across his field of vision and get shot, he noticed out of the corner of his eye that Dominique was cooking up something rather terrible. Danny didn’t know what he was going to do if that thing hit him, but when she opened fire the hale of bullets stopped. She had inadvertently got him shot again because when the missile crashed through the ground he fell from outside cover and got shot in his right arm. Again, the shot wasn’t debilitating, but it hurt like a mother. The green glow was haunting to say the least. He knew that if that thing came near him, he would get cancer for sure, and because of that, and the fact that the beam was slowly heading towards him, he took the moment when the beam was fired, and hopefully the hail of bullets topped to dash forward and slide next to Elysse. When he slid he almost went straight past her since the floor turned into a slip and slide from her blood. It was the goriest game he had ever played. Stopping himself, almost out of cover again, and looked down at her. There was no doubt that she was going to die soon if something didn’t happen. Danny thought fast and figured that he could cauterize the wound. It was something that he hadn’t done in a very long time, and so he was sort of worried about trying it, being so out of practice. Either way, she needed help, and he was going to try. It was still fairly dark, so he made an orb of light and allowed it to hover over them for a moment. It gave away their position, but he was hoping that Dom’s nuclear blast was doing enough damage that the enemy wouldn’t care. He saw where the gash on Elysse’s leg was and gently pushed it as closed as he could without hurting her more. Gathering energy to create a beam, he shot the super heated light down her leg to try and close up the wound as best as he could. Taking off his belt he wrapped it around her upper thigh, and then ripped a small bit of his shirt away and wrapped it tightly over the wound itself. Pulling the belt tight, but not enough to completely cut off circulation, he looked at his work for a moment. He didn’t know how well it would hold up, and she was going to need some real medical care, not this homebrew shit if she wanted to make it out alive. “KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK DOMINQUE!” Danny screamed at the top of his lungs, and then he looked back at Elysse. “When we clear the room we’ll get you out of here, just be careful not to move your leg to much. You can easily crack the wound open again. I’m no surgeon, but I figure you already know that. Let me know if you need any help. Now is not the time to be too proud,” he said, and gave Elysse a quick, and sincere smile. Now he could only hope that they finished the room off soon, before everyone got cancer from the irradiated glow. |

I got a PHD in KICKING YOUR ASS!
It was madness. In all his years the Admiral had never faced anything like this. Sure he had faced extreme danger, countless battles, seen his dear ones die before his eyes and much worse... but this was by far the strangest, most mysterious enemy he had come across. He was particularly upset at how they had managed to infiltrate into the base right under his nose, but what really ticked him off was the fact that he had no idea who the hell these people were. They weren't Zeon that much he knew, for he knew Zeon all too well. This was another faction he knew nothing of, and the fact that they were storming Jaburo even though they had initially come in unarmed and beaten to near death- some of them practically needed life support for what he'd been told- and then simply rose and killed his men... and now were... What the hell were they even doing here anyways? He realized he still had no clue what they were after. There were many valuable things and armament kept in Jaburo so it was hard to tell... but he doubted they were after something, but rather someone. It was a suicide mission after all, for they couldn't really leave the place alive even if they did accomplish their goal. Within minutes a full battalion would be back in the base to deal with the intruders and it would be all over for the group, even if they did manage to take out quite a few of his men. No... it didn't feel right. There had to be something he was not seeing, but what? They weren't Zeon... they had no stupid ideals which would drive them to their deaths in a suicide mission for the good of others. Then what? How did they intend to leave the bas- "Holy shit! I know what they're after!" The room fell silent for a moment as everyone turned to look at Akbar and his shocked expression. "Everyboy listen! They're aft-" "Admiral! Something terrible is happening!" -Ivanna yelled suddenly almost in panic. "What is it?" "I have no idea how... but one of the nuclear warheads is being mobilized..." "WHAT THE HELL!? WHERE TO? AND HOW THE FUCK IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?" He had been wrong. For a moment there he thought they were after the prototype ship, how stupid of him! It was now clear beyond doubt that their true aim was to destroy Jaburo itself, sacrificing themselves indeed. "I d-don't know, Admiral... but the missile's thrusters were activated somehow and it simply rocketed up... breaking through and reaching the exact spot where our men are holding the intruders off and... oh God... OH GOD!!" "WHAT!!??" "The readings, sir!! It clearly is... I don't know how... but the warhead's been activated! THEY'RE GOING TO BLOW UP THE BASE!" Akbar knew there was one, and only one thing he could do right now. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR? DO YOU EVEN NEED ME TO TELL YOU?? ACTIVATE NEUTRON JAMMER AT ONCE!!" ---------------------------------------- The grenade fell a couple of feet away form Elysee... but bounced off and rolled at least another 20 feet away, as it seemed the soldier had taken an extra effort to send it as far away as he possibly could. It exploted with a loud BOOM as the missile broke through the floor, making the place shake under their feet. As Dominique readied her cannon and aimed, the green glow of death filling the large room they were all in, a sudden wave of powerful energy swept through the entire base in the blink of an eye. Everyone felt it go through them like a bolt of lightning as the N-Jammer, a powerful device created to prevent the use of nuclear weapons was activated, rendering the cannon useless as soon as it fired. The soldiers' radios had been rendered useless by Dominique's first attack so they had no way of communicating with the control room, but they all knew what had just happened and were both relieved to be alive and motivated to end this once and for all. "NOW!" - one of them yelled. The last two soldiers still in the room charged forward while firing a continuous rain of bullets at the group as they came closer. If any of them came out from whatever cover they had it was very probable that they would get hit, even if they were able to take a soldier or two out. It was a bold and almost-suicidal move on the soldier's part, but after seeing a friggin' nuclear warhead pointed at them there wasn't much more that could scare them off. Then there was the ammo issue. At the rate they were firing their guns it was possible most of them would run out as soon as they managed to either kill their enemies in the next few seconds or die trying. Hopefully by then the squad leader and the others would show up behind the group and their enemies would die in the crossfire. Edited by Eiji, Apr 21 2010, 02:17 AM.

By the time a nuclear warhead had managed to emerge from the floor, sending concrete, debris and once hidden top soil flying everywhere, Illist was beginning to question subtly of this plan. His Remnants were just returning to him from their sabotage tasks when one of them reported something very concerning. Upon rejoining with the fabric of his Dimensional Coat, the Remnants also shared their memories with their master. The reconnaissance proved useful. Just as he prepared to announce his findings, the Neutron Jammer wave ripped through him like storm swell. To everyone else it must have been a slightly electrifying experience of energy passing through the body; but Illist is a being of the infinite spectrum. He exists on all levels at any one point in time, at the very least partial. The boom of neutron disruption shook him to his core essence, knees buckling as his body heaved and convulsed. His very particles visual rippled and raged like an ocean in full moon light. Keeping his stomach and mouth in separate dimensions was all his could do to keep himself from vomiting. This was unspeakable! Impossible! Unforgivable! And many other words of negative connotation riled through Illist's mind as he held his body up in the dark and the dust of the corridor. He glared outwards at the two solders who were running, guns ablaze, with almost heroic abandon. Two Remnants twisted out of Illist's body; dragging massive sword claws behind them. The creatures flew out of the corridor's shadowy entrance at the faces of the two soldiers The ghostlings where quite keen to split the men in half, but they glide out closer to the ground with their blade like hands held upwards as to remove them mens' arms. "Another squad-" Illist gagged heavily, between the convulsions, his voice grew horse with the coughing being forced out of his body,"more of them," his breath heaved steadily as he began to regain some control, ",doubling back around us..." he hoped that between the gun fire and his current state that one of the team would respond with something useful. |
