The Book that is Hyakuji's Story has come to a close. However, there are still plenty of stories left to be told in the madcap Anime Universe it inhabits. As one book closes, so too does another open. Presented by veteran Hyakuji Staff Members, check out the next generation EVOLUTION of "Anything-Goes" Anime Roleplaying at Senki Academy

It was times like this that Yuu felt insanely guilty for his powers. He could feel her wrestling over -- what he assumed -- was that he could read her emotions. Read her. Completely turn the girl's body out in front of him. She felt vulnerable, to a point, he thought. Exposed.

And... he couldn't blame her.

He was horrible.

If any emotion other than dirt-tired-ness ever showed through on the boy's face, she might have noticed it drain away. He felt guilty for making her feel that way. She didn't seem to harbor any ill will toward him in particular, but he still felt a bit of...an awkward air between them. Even if he was the only one imagining it. He hadn't wanted to be like this...

"I'm sorry," he mumbled softly, slowly, not looking at the girl as she stood. "I don't mean to. I can stop, mostly." He knew before she was fully done speaking that the girl was cold, it was chilly out and she wasn't wearing much in the way of a jacket.

At first, he had planned on offering his coat to her if she was too cold, and insisting on it if she was too proud. She wasn't cold enough for that though, and he debating wrapping his arm around her... but at the moment he thought it'd be a poor idea.

His hands shoved deep into his pockets and he stood looking at the girl for a bit longer, his body hunched enough that his height didn't seem quite as tall. It was habit, he hated being so tall.

"I'm sorry." He repeated, looking at her over the bridge of his glasses, appraising her... searching her. Was he wearing out his welcome? Should he just turn and walk away from her? He didn't want to just let her walk home on her own -- capable as she may be -- but maybe he should....

Either way, there was a soft tickle somewhere in the back of her mind... and the presence that she may or may not have felt there was gone. It was hard to not read someone's emotions. But if he focused enough on himself it was possible.

Sorry...

Chizu looked up at Yuu at the apology. She didn't know what to say. She always thought empathy was one of those powers that just happened. People couldn't help it, just like some people with pyromancy couldn't help it when their tempers set things on fire, or she couldn't help it in the beginning when her powers reacted to everything.

It was a little awkward, but it was just one of those things. Anyway, he couldn't read her mind, just her feelings, so she could still keep many things secret. As long as he wasn't trying to manipulate her, she thought she could put up with that.

"It's alright," she told him. "Don't strain yourself. If you can't help it, you can't help it." She frowned for a moment as she thought about it, a cold wind blowing through the area. Chizu shivered, just barely and focused on the wind for a moment. It redirected itself, and Yuu might notice that while the wind had been hitting the both of them dead on earlier, it now parted when it neared them, going to either side of them and leaving them with still air that was a few degrees warmer than the wind had been. One of the perks of being an aeromancer.

"It's your powers," she said. "It's not like you're trying to read me..."

Yuu stiffened a little as the wind blew against them, his body shifting in an almost soundless way, angling his shoulder so it'd block the wind just a bit better while at the same time only seeming to walk a bit behind her, following her.

Though curiously, the wind split.

For a moment, Yuu had forgotten who he was dealing with. Interesting, new powers were so interesting. Taking a longer stride, he fell into step with the girl, hunching still so he could better hear her words. His head tilted, moving at an almost impossible angle to look at her as she spoke. A smile brushed across his lips and disappeared.

"I'm just saying. I can, if it bothers you too much. And... you should show me where you're living, I'm horrible with directions," his body seemed to relax a little more though as he released the rein on his powers, letting them slip out again.

Much better.

"I know you just met me, but I wouldn't manipulate you. Well, other than relaxing." His shoulders lifted and fell in a shrug. "But only sometimes." He smiled a bit more again, giving the girl a little nudge toward the jumping point between worlds.

"A vacation."

His words trailed off and he followed Chizu quietly.
