The Devil Pig is here!

Trystan sat on the hard, slightly cracked seat of the roller coaster, a relatively confused look on his face. Nina had dragged him out here without bothering to tell him why. Honestly, they've spent a significant amount of time with each other, but truthfully, there were still times when he just couldn't get a handle on what she was thinking. Here they were, sitting out in the open, at what seemed to be the entrence to this ride. The system had long since shut down, with no energy available to power it up. It was certainly an extravagant machine, a mark of a past period of wealth and opulence. Well, at the very least, it seemed like Nina was enjoying herself. Spreading out a small meal she had prepared beforehand on their laps, she handed Trystan a pair of chopsticks. There seemed to be some sort of green vegetable, mixed with some foreign looking roots, along with another small dish of delicate-looking meats and pastries. He always wondered where she found all of these ingredients. He had asked once, but the look on her face had convinced him that he didn't really want to know where it came from. Besides, the taste was exquisite. He trusted that she was doing the best she could for him, and so he would accept this food with gratitude. "Itadakimasu!" The smell of the food wafted through the area, causing some small animals to peek out through their hiding places Haha! All for us, and none for you! His heart sunk a little as that little thought registered in his mind. He was a real mean git sometimes. However, these thoughts were quickly replaced by general bliss as he munched on the food. She really was a good cook. After taking a few more bites, Trystan turned to Nina. "You aren't going to eat anything?" "Don't be silly Master. I've only prepared enough for one. Besides, I've already eaten." Trystan finished chewing, then swallowed. What an obvious lie. They had already camped out in this area for awhile now. It didn't really help that neither of them really knew which direction they should be going in order to head towards town. The swarms of Heartless which seemed to populate the area wasn't much help either. The only clear thing that he foresaw in their future right now if things were to stay the same was eminent starvation. He was sure that Nina knew this as well. He appreciated her thoughts, but he would much more prefer that they both ration. Holding out his chopsticks, Trystan motioned for her to eat too. "...I've already eaten, Master. Don't worry about me; please enjoy your meal..." She was so stubborn sometimes. "The meal is excellent, but I can't finish it all. Please, do join me. Food is much better when it is shared with people dear to you." Color slowly coming to her cheeks, Nina lowered her head, then gingerly took the chopsticks, before uncharacteristically wolfing down a few mouthfuls of the pastries and meat. Trystan watched on with a small smile, his approval obvious. This was how it should be with comrades anyways. Especially if she considered him her Master, it was his duty to look out for not only her safety, but also whether she was over-exerting herself as well. However, as quickly as it had come, her mannerisms returned just as quickly, pecking at just a few small bites of the vegetables before handing the chopsticks back to Trystan. She had indeed been hungry before, but now there was only one thought in her mind. ....I-indirect kiss...with Master... Why were they being so lovey-dovey, even while being surrounded by Heartless attracted by the smell of human presence? Who knows - call it a naive belief that meal-times were sacred, and that nobody and nothing could possibly think to disturb that, save for inconsiderate buffoons. |

Walk briskly, stay on the lighted paths, and get to First District as fast as possible. Those were usually the rules made by First District residents who had to go to Second for one reason or another. Normally, Star and the rules had a love-hate relationship at best. When they were good, they were good, and when they weren't, she wasn't afraid to bend them a little. This was one rule that Star usually followed to the letter though. Alone and being attacked by Heartless were two things that Star never wanted to be at the same time. She was on her way back from the library when she passed the amusement park. This amusement park was definitely not under the definition of "lighted path" nor was it in any way actually amusing, so Star ignored its existence on most days. She couldn't today, though, because when she turned her head towards it to glance at it, she noticed two figures sitting on top of one of the rollercoaster cars. And they were moving. And she would bet her telescope that they weren't Heartless. What the...? Star thought as she took a step forward to get a closer look. It wasn't much of a close look and she was still very much on the lit path, but it was enough to confirm her suspicions. They were people, and they looked like they were...eating a meal?!? There were Heartless around too--she thought they looked like Shadows, but she could never really be too sure. Star extended her hand. Light pooled in it, forming the shape of a blade. ![]() Keyblade in hand, Star stepped into the amusement park. Her body began glowing a faint light, the circle around her feet lighting up to dissuade any of the weaker Heartless from coming closer to her. It seemed to work, because most of them scurried away. That was good, considering she didn't really have the firepower to back up the threat if she needed it. She walked to the roller coaster and looked up. "Heeeeey!" she shouted, waving her hands to get the couple's attention. "Hate to interrupt, but do you two know you're surrounded by Heartle--," A Soldier apparently wasn't convinced by her light show, as it jumped out of the shadow towards her. "--Oh, flying fruitcakes," muttered Star, raising her Keyblade in a clumsy parry. Melee combat was soooo not her thing. She realized she probably looked stupid to any schooled practitioner of the art. But it worked. She formed an orb of light with her free hand and threw it at the Soldier, swinging her Keyblade at it as it fell back. It disappeared in a haze of darkness as she looked back up at the other two. "Coming down, or what?" she asked. Edited by Chizu, Feb 22 2010, 04:53 PM.

"Heeeeey!" Trystan startled a bit at the sudden human voice. He normally would not have been affected as much as he was now, but it had been awhile since he had heard another human voice aside from Nina's. He looked around, trying to locate the source of that noise. Maybe this person knew how to get back to town! And, well, even if that person didn't, the more the merrier! Nina instinctively grabbed at Trystan's shirt, urging him to ignore the voice. Her instinct told her that the voice belonged to a female, and if, by whatever small chance, her Master had tired of her and wanted new company over this long period of time, this abandoned place could very easily be the place where she would be left behind. Though he had assured her many a time that her worries were unfounded, she just couldn't shake the feeling that one day, she'd be left behind. There are no promises that couldn't be broken, after all. However, Trystan, being thick as he was, was completely oblivious to his poor maid's worries, and so continued to look around, trying to locate the source of the voice. "Hate to interrupt, but do you two know you're surrounded by Heartle--," Ah, there it was. Funny how he had missed her the first time around. She was standing right at the edge of the relatively well-lit path, waving her hand in their general direction. Careful to not spill the half-finished food, Trystan stood up and squinted his eyes to get a better look at who was there. It was a girl who looked about his age, and, if his eyes weren't deceiving him, it looked like she was also emitting some light. Well, that wasn't a sight you saw everyday. And he thought that he had already seen it all back when Hyakuji was still around. He was about to wave back when he saw a dark shadow sneaking up from behind. "Behind you!" With a small sigh, Nina started packing things up; she already knew where this was going. Turning back, he was about to tell Nina to pack things up when he saw that she was already done. It was slightly unfair, really. It seemed that Nina had a much easier time reading him than it was for him to read her. She had said that it was because he was so pure of heart, but deep down, he couldn't help but feel that she was mocking him for being so simple. However, by the time that he had secured Nina firmly in his arms and was about to jump down, it was already over. She had pulled a strange, key-shaped mix between a cudgel and a blade out from thin air, parried the attack, and had sent it flying away with a projectile attack of some sort. Her movements were awkward, but the fact that she had reacted at all in the way she did spoke to the fact that she wasn't a complete amateur, at the very least. "Coming down, or what?" Holding Nina gently, Trystan jumped off the car they had been dining in, rocking the already unstable and damaged structure slightly as he pushed off. They closed about half the distance between them, but landed on the ground heavily, his feet sinking further into the relatively loose ground. Cringing a little at the impact, Trystan let Nina on the ground, before stepping out of the two foot-shaped indents he had just made, shaking the gravel off his feet. Jogging lightly over towards the better-lit path, which the person seemed to prefer, Trystan flashed a smile and waved. "Were you attracted by the smell of good food too?" Nina merely stood at a distance, brushing dirt off her dress. It was the only change of clothes she had at the moment, and she had to look her best at all times for her Master. |

"Not exactly," said Star with a smile as she lowered her keyblade. She extended the light around her feet so that it included the guy and his...maid? Well, different strokes, different folks and all that. "But when I see some people having a nice dinner while surrounded by Heartless, well...I get curious." She glanced nervously at the darkness. Star would probably never be good at fighting and never be comfortable with it, at least in a world without sunlight. She was getting a little more capable though, which was a good thing. As long as she didn't lose control of herself like she did in Shinya, she supposed it would be alright. "Uh...love to stay and chat, but this probably isn't the best place. Do you guys know the way back to First District? 'Cause if not, I can show you." She tightened her hand around the grip of her keyblade. It was a part of her, and because of that, she was probably a little better at using it than she would have been if you had just tossed her a sword. She probably would have cut herself by now if that was the case. She was still much better at throwing light at the Heartless from a distance, but a Keyblade was better than nothing. "I'm Star, by the way," she said. "Star Ricci. Nice to meet ya.~ You two do this often?" She glanced at the top of the rollercoaster and at the Heartless hiding in the shadows in the surrounding area. |

"Not exactly, but when I see some people having a nice dinner while surrounded by Heartless, well...I get curious." Trstyan paused, then guffawed, his face squinting up with mirth. It's not that he was over reacting, he just tended to do this in general; eat when you are hungry, laugh when you feel tickled. However, it seemed that he had been prone to laughing like this more often after the Fuse. Perhaps one of his alternative selves had been much more spontanous about things than he would have been. Regardless, it was true enough that what they were doing was relatively out of the ordinary. This probably wasn't what they had meant when they spoke of 'dining in hell'. On the other hand, where else would they have done it? In this already dreary land, you might as well go to the area with the best ambient lighting. Nothing else like a good, old-fashioned high structure to achieve that. There must've been a reason why it was all the rage for 5-star restaurants to be located on ridiculously high floors. He caught the look of nervousness which the woman cast around their area. It was a reaction that seemed to either imply a general lack of proficiency and familiarity with combat, or simply a wary sort of reaction to the general danger that was surrounding them at all times. The Heartless seemed to prefer old, and run-down places such as these. Perhaps it was the atmosphere, or merely the fact that no one really cared too much about these sorts of places any longer as they fell into disrepair. Without the hustle and bustle, it seemed like amusement parks really do lose the heart of their existence. Noting the slight expansion of the area of somehow self-contained light, Trystan motioned for Nina to move in closer, hopefully lessening the strain that it would have on the woman. "Uh...love to stay and chat, but this probably isn't the best place. Do you guys know the way back to First District? 'Cause if not, I can show you." Was he really that easy to read? He heaved an inner sigh of resignation. A slightly apologetic laugh came from his lips. "Yaaaaaah, did you notice? We've actually been lost for a good couple weeks by now. Ahahahahaa!" "You're simply pure of heart," murmured Nina to Trystan quietly. Unwittingly reaffirming the source of his inner frustration, Nina reached out and patted his shoulder in a comforting manner. A slight tinkle brought his mind back to the situation at hand. His eyes focused onto giant key that she held in her hand. Just what was it exactly? Now that he got a better look at it, it really did seem like he was right in his assumption that it was a weapon, and not just a giant decoration or a magical staff. Its edges were sharp, and the exquisite skill which seemed to have gone into its crafting, as well as the comfortable way in which it sat in her grip showed that it was no mere mass-produced weapon, but a weapon that was custom-made for her, despite her seeming room for improvement with wielding it. "I'm Star, by the way, Star Ricci. Nice to meet ya.~ You two do this often?" "Star-dono ga? This one's name is Yamato Trystan, and my companion, Nina. As for doing it often, well, sometimes it's just safer to hide right beneath their nose!" Suddenly, a wave of nausea swept over him. Gritting his teeth, he pulled Nina towards the center of the path, keeping her away from the shadows. It seemed that they had made their presence too clearly known. The Heartless that Star dispatched earlier had probably somehow called over some nearby friends shortly before its demise. Or it could be his being loud in general. He'd have to control that guffaw of his the next time he felt the urge to laugh. Judging from the strength of the wave of sakki he had percieved, there was a fairly large group that had gathered. The two dozen odd pairs of coldly glowing eyes in the darkness confirmed his earlier estimated count. However, it probably wasn't the small fry which was giving off the waves of murderous intent he was feeling right now. A much larger, hulking form appeared in the darkness from behind the group. Now that all their forces in this small jurisdiction of the much larger park had gathered, the mini-platoon stepped out from the shadows, forming a slowly shifting circle around the three of them. Spoiler: click to toggle His pulse starting to speed up, and Fuse about to blow, Trystan was breathing heavily, but his eyes and voice held a steely sort of confident determination. "Well, looks like they don't want us to leave so easily. Do we run or teach them about the concept of 'quality over quantity'?" |

"HADOKEN!" A large blue blast of energy lanced through a group of heartless crowding around their back side. "Always wanted to do that..." A silver haired kid was rushing up towards the group, he stumbled across this place for the few days he'd been wondering around in the second district. He got up to the group, the energy blast he had launched had burnt off the bandages wrapped around his demonic looking arm, even the glove was ruined, the claw like fingers where the missing material was. "So yeah... you guys having a party or somethin'?" He whipped out his bokudo from the little leather case his cousin had made for it and the light blue part of his arm began to pulse, one could see a small astral flame of blue close to his arm as it began pulling in Chi resonance. He might not have a keyblade like a lot of people that he'd seen fighting heartless, but he was at least gonna try and do some damage to these things... |

Star grinned at Trystan's answer. She could see how it would be easy to get lost here, what with all the streets looking the same and all. It was a good thing Star only got lost when she wanted to be lost, or she might have been in deep trouble from the start. "Nina and Trystan. Got it. Well, it just so happens that I was heading there myself, so you can come with me. It's this......way......." Star turned her head and looked up as Trystan pushed Nina into the path, her eyes widening slightly at the group of Heartless that appeared in front of her. Oh dear. "Sheesh, in a creepy amusement park? What a cliche," she said, seemingly confident as she turned to face the Heartless, stepping in front of Nina. Traverse Town was one of the worst places for her to fight in because there was never any sunlight. She had enough light in her right now that she could make do with, though, and she was starting to learn to gather light from other sources. Then, there was her Keyblade. That definitely helped. And Trystan looked like he knew what he was doing too. Star's violet eyes quickly swept over the Heartless, doing a quick head count. If Trystan was looking at her, he might notice that while her stance left much to be desired, her expression was alert. She looked as though she was, at least mentally, more competent than she normally appeared to be. Her mind raced as she thought through the situation. Star looked up as another boy jumped into the fray, his arm glowing. A grin spread over her face. "Does that answer your question?" she asked Trystan, raising her hands to chest level with her palms facing the Heartless. Star's eyes narrowed for a moment as light burst from her hands, covering the ground in a sheet. The light wouldn't hurt Trystan, Adam, or Nina, and it probably wouldn't do more than annoy the stronger Heartless, but Star knew from experience that it was very, very effective crowd control against Shadows. "You guys might have to cover me. Photomancy's my strong suit...close combat...uh...not so much." she said as six orbs of light floated around her, heading towards the Megashadow. |

"That'll work just fine as you got our backs. I guess." He dropped into a stance with the wooden sword as his arm caught a blue astral flame that covered from his elbow down to the tip of the Bokudo. "Not bad..." He muttered towards his own feat. "Aright let's do this." He sounded a bit excited, but then again Adam did always enjoy a good fight, his eyes searched thoroughly for any break in their ranks. "So who's gonna initiate the first attack? Us or them?" He spoke, but mostly towards the male than anyone else. He thought the scenario over and over in his mind before finally, "Fuck it. First move is mind bitches." From his original attack he dropped into Battojutsu, something they made him practice in his martial arts when it came to weapons. He lunged at one and unleashed his blade. His teachers in Ko Am Mu Do taught him one important thing... Always turn one attack into many, in fact that was one of physical principles of his martial art. From that one mid slash that thankfully hit a smaller one, a shadow, he quickly bursted into three more slashes, one an uppercut which knocked another shadow up into the air, from there he triangle stepped around a leaping shadow and rammed the butt of the hilt into the top of the things head before launching a back that knocked it away. As he stepped down from the back kick he dropped into a stance that looked like his feet were twisted. The Bokudo in his hands light up brighter, the flames drew inward and the blade of the weapon began to glow a bright blue as the shadows slowly closed in, Adam spun hard, and let out a spinning slash that ended with him in a back stance with the blade at chest level. The blade was still blowing but it became a bit of a darker blue. He had managed to at least hit two more shadows before he had to roll out of his stance to avoid an oncoming attack. |

[ooc: feel free to manipulate the Heartless as y'all want, btw :P. and for the count, 3 shadows, 2 soldiers, 7 armored knights, and the single mega shadow remains] "HADOKEN!" ... Hadouken...? Wasn't that the signature move of some video game character? Was it actually a real move? Or perhaps, did the game developers actually pay so much attention to detail that they had secretly hired a person just like that video game character to act as a model? He shook himself back into concentration mentally. It seemed as if these ridiculous inner voices of his were getting more and more out of hand as his form stabilized. Turning his attention back to the matter at hand, his eyes turning towards the source of the noise. A spark, then a lance of blue colored energy blasted through a group of Shadows that had crowded around behind them. Holding out his hand, Trystan focused his qi into his palm, before catching, then crushing the bolt in his hands, a wild glint coming to his eyes, before he quickly suppressed it once more. The violent nature of the Fuse was trying to break through. His gaze turned to fix upon the one who had suddenly appeared. It was odd, that there were so many people wandering around this area which had been deserted just a moment ago. "So yeah... you guys having a party or somethin'?" Though the person was still relatively hidden in the darkness, he could still tell that there was something that was strange about the silver-haired male's arm. The claws, the glow, the feel of it, something was just off. Though he was standing at a pretty safe distance away, he could still feel a slight tugging at his qi, almost as if it were nibbling nonchalantly away at it. Well, it seemed organic at the very least, and as far as he was concerned, was not an enemy, for now. "Just a small get-together, nothing as fancy as that." Trystan turned to check if Star was holding up alright. Being dealt a hand of facing overwhelming numbers was tough; even the most solid rock would still be swallowed whole by the rising tide. However, it seemed as if he had been worrying for naught. The look in her eyes was enough to convince him that she'd be a comrade you could count on to pull through. A tough spirit was much harder to train than a tough body. He turned to check on Nina as well, though, as expected, she merely looked back at him calmly, her gaze merely fixed upon his figure. She had an absolute, almost naive trust that so long as she was around her Master, everything would turn out fine. Satisfied that Nina was unperturbed as well, he turned his attention back towards Star as he saw the grin spread over her face. "Does that answer your question?" He returned one of his own; it was settled then. He watched as Star raised her hands towards her chest, with her palms facing outwards. His pupils contracted a bit at the sudden spurt of light burst through the area, at first seeming to rush towards them, but almost instantly forced itself towards the ground, claiming an area for itself. It didn't hurt his eyes to look; it was a very pure sort of light - one that you didn't see often in this dreary world infested with Heartless. Star's eyes narrowed for a moment as light burst from her hands, covering the ground in a sheet. "You guys might have to cover me. Photomancy's my strong suit...close combat...uh...not so much." He didn't know what this Photomancy thing was, but it probably had something to do with the light. In that case... "Then allow this one...to prove his worth." Pulling himself to his full height, Trystan stood in an easy posture, back towards Nina and Star, his hands slowly coming up to cross in front of his chest. Taking a deep breath, he started to clear his mind; he still couldn't summon the Fuse at will, though it would sometimes break out on its own. And so he stood still. Some of the Heartless had noticed his open, and completely defenseless stance, and had decided to take advantage of it, closing in as slowly as Trystan was raising his arms. However, they soon halted in their tracks, seemingly unable to make themselves move in closer. Not only did they now have that despicable light to deal with, they had to deal with this too? Even though they were weak and without a soul, they were neither entirely stupid nor devoid of survival instincts. His arms crossed firmly in front of him, Trystan opened his eyes once more, his normally sea-turquoise eyes suddenly marked with a crimson spiral. The moment they saw that wild glint in his eyes while they were closing, deep down, they already knew their fates had been sealed. With a deep, inexplicable rumbling from within, Trystan uttered a signle word. "Overload." From the base of his neck, strips of dark, oozy, liquid-like matter erupted outwards, before forming a lithe, prehensile tail as tall as he was, then hardening and shaping itself onto Trystan's body. More and more of this matter emerged, piling on layer after layer, until it formed what appeared to be a heavy, but form-fitting suit of armor. On his chest was adorned a single, spiral-shaped insignia, while on his head, a single, cruelly jutting horn. His face was now stark white, framed by a pair of glowing, crimson eyes. Arms still crossed, his tail whipped a stealthily approaching Shadow across the head from behind him, crushing into its face before ripping the rest of the body into smokey shreds. Trystan spoke once more. "Rift Fuse, complete." Spoiler: click to toggle In reality, the transformation had happened in all but an instant, but those who saw it once never forgot, even if they were never able to recall it clearly in their minds. It was clearly formed from an otherworldly material, which belonged to neither the Dark nor the Light, and yet would seem so familiar to any who made contact with it. On the tip of their tongue, at the back of their minds, they all knew what it was, yet none would ever have the ability to call it by Name, for it was the makings of which even the Primordial Soup had been simmered over before being crafted into Existence. The sound of a sudden thundering burst. The sight of a violent slash, the feeling of a dull crumbling and a hazy dispersion of smoke. The sound of the constant, droning, silent hum of two blades. Those spiraled eyes that seemed to bore right through you, before consuming you within its infinite, timeless churn. These were the last sensations those without senses would perceive before truly ceasing to Be. As 4 more Soldiers crumbled away into pieces, Trystan spoke again, his tone low and mixed with something foreign; it wasn't just him speaking anymore. "Let those who know not folly come; let me give you a glimpse of the other end of Infinity..." |

Star grinned at Trystan's transformation, watching as her light spread across the floor and tore through the shadows. Her eyes flicked over them again, doing another head count. One. Two. Three. Ten with one blow, a personal best! "Alright, guys. I won't let you down!" she said, turning to face the Heartless as the light flared up around her. She was a little worried about losing control again, but whatever seal Damon had put on her powers held fast. The only light she had was what she could manage--which admittedly wasn't much. It was useful though. Elemental advantages were fun like that. One of the Shadows leaped towards her, claws outstretched. Star stepped back and slashed at it with her Keyblade, raising her hand. The string of orbs that had been hanging around her followed her hand as she raised it, heading towards one of the Armored Knights. There was a flash of light as the orbs struck it and it disappeared into darkness. One down, six to go... she thought, before glancing towards the big Heartless. That would be a threat unless it was dealt with right then and there. The light around her suddenly focused inward as Star's eyes narrowed. It dimmed for a moment before reappearing as white ribbons that wrapped themselves around the Mega Shadow, binding it in place before it could attack them. "Guys, get this one!" she shouted, holding tight to the binds as the Mega Shadow tried to escape. She wouldn't be able to hold it steady for long.

"Alright, guys. I won't let you down!" From the corner of his eyes, Trystan saw the rest of the Shadows obliterated by the flash of light, each one bursting into their own respective clouds of smoke before fading back into the darkness. Though they were screeching away in their own language, even a child would have known the contents of their speech. Panic. Terror. Pandemonium. They had only just started the assault, and not only that, more than half of their forces had already been wiped out. Not only that, their leader was trapped in that despicable light. He was struggling, but the light was holding him too tight. He couldn't move, couldn't break, couldn't destroy the things in front of him. He struggled with even more effort, trying to wring his hands out from the bindings that trapped him here in stagnation. However, the more it struggled, the tighter the bindings seemed to wrap around him. "Guys, get this one!" "Makasetoke, Star-dono." Lunging towards the Mega Shadow in loping steps, his feet churned up the loose ground underneath their feet, leaving deep marks where his feet touched. As he was moving, Trystan's hand started to glow with a strange sort of darkness. If you looked closely, the darkness within his hand actually stood apart from the darkness of which the Heartless were spawned. The source of this mark was the residual primordial energy which had gone into forming the Points. It was also this energy which kept them from imploding the surrounding area on the spot. This one Point split into two, from two to five. Grasping the five, small, grenade-shaped object tightly in his hands, Trystan gathered his qi towards his now-gauntleted hands, sharpening them until they were like blades. Lashing towards the abdomen of the Mega Shadow, Trystan's hand ripped through the Darkness which was the Heartless' skin, plotted the Point within, and withdrew his hand in one smooth motion. "Point Plotted. Implosion, in three-" It burned, and it scared him. It scared him, even though he wasn't supposed to have emotions. He was going to end, but he didn't want it to end! "Two-" He had to get stronger, get bigger, get more power, get more, break more, kill more, eat more, steal more! He didn't want this fear, this coldness, this trembling! "One-" The Mega Shadow lifted its head, looking at the dark being literally in front of his face. Trystan stared right back at the Heartless. The sickly, pale yellow orbs glared daggers, trying to overpower the crimson spirals in front of him. However, as soon as he started, he knew it was too late. The spirals bore right through him, consuming him, breaking him, churning and chewing him through and through. This was his end. He was going to die. It was all going to end. But wait, these emotions... So in the end, he was Human once more. Trystan didn't bother counting. The Point expanded, returning to its proper dimensional pocket, simply taking the Heartless and surrounding rubble with it. There, it would be instantly broken down again into the fundamentals. Light, Dark, Solid, Magic - there was a beginning, and an end. The Primordial was the conjunction of both, the broth of which all spawn from, the Hell which all return to, the Heaven of release. There was no escaping your Maker. Turning around and away from the unaturally smooth, spherical indent in the ground, Trystan took a quick count of the remaining Heartless. Of the original two dozen odd that had attacked them, there were only eight left. One of the Soldiers, taking advantage of the slight pause that had resulted from his counting, had dashed forwards and jumped, latching onto the seemingly useless decorating horn on Trystan's head with one hand, and swung forwards, trying to kick this strange, otherworldly being in the face. "Amae!" A similar blade to the ones on his elbows erupted momentarily from the horn as Trystan swung his head downwards in a head-butting motion. Cutting cleanly through the fingers, the blade slipped down and through the rest of the Heartless like butter, eviscerating it in a swirling pattern. Its remains twirling, and spilling Darkness in a spray, the Heartless hit the ground, skipped over the dirt a few times away from the beaten path, before the corpse finally disappeared, bursting into a cloud of smoke. Hunching over, Trystan angled the elbow blades outwards, the crimson eyes scanning the surrounding area for any other threats. |

It's all or nothin' Adam smirked a bit as he remembered what his cousin used to say. "Heh..." The chuckle was small and would barely be heard, along with his next comment as he lifted the blade and dropped into a zero Gatotsu stance, the blade of the bokudo still shining brightly with his Ki. "I never settle for nothin'." From that instant, the Mega Shadow exploded, his turn... He launched forward executing the fang of the Mibu attack which he had practiced time and time again along with a few other sword techniques he had seen from the Samurai X mangas and other sword/samurai mangas and animes. The strike hit dead center chest of a soldier he had dashed toward, the power of the strike... but mostly the spin of the blade created a force that once the attack hit the small center point that the end of the bokudo had... the heartless' chest spiraled before exploding out darkness that left a large circular hole in the thing's chest before it poofed away to smoke. He didn't waste time as he spun and held his bokudo in a mock-battojutsu stance before releasing a quick slash that was amplified by the momentum of his spin. "Amakekeru, Ryu-no-Heromeki!" He roared out as the sheer force of the attack caused his bokudo to rip the final attacking soldier in half from the chest as the Bokudo rushed through it and it popped into smoke. He took what many in his dojang taught as a triangle step, while doing this, the energy around the Bokudo vanished and from the bright neon blue color that the 'blade' held it returned to it's wooden composure. The energy was retransmitted into his arm and the Bokudo was tossed into his other hand Just as Adam slammed his palm against an armored knight before unleashing the energy from the bokudo in a hellish destructive wave that once it cleared... the knight was nothing but smoke. That did it for Adam though, doing that energy blast tapped out his arm and he'd pretty much be a sitting duck against heartless. So he jumped back and headed back into Star's circle of light for some means of protection while his arm recuperated, He still had a good arm and two good legs... but he had decided instead of trying to find, he'd cover the keyblade user instead of getting himself killed.

The ribbons of light fell away, glowing brightly for a moment before falling apart into what seemed like streams of glowing dust. Star took a deep breath from the effort of holding the Mega Shadow still, watching as the white-haired boy quickly dispatched several Heartless. Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki? Isn't that from an anime? Star shook her head, realizing where her thoughts were going. Focus, Star. Focus. She looked up and counted the Heartless, tightening her grip on her keyblade. Four Armored Knights. No problem. They weren't worth her using Sirius on them, and she didn't have much else. One of them ran forward towards them. Star raised her hand, three orbs of light appearing from it and striking it squarely in the chest. It flew back, disappearing in a flash of light as she turned to the other two. "That's one each, boys," she said with a small smile as she readied another round of light. Hopefully no more would appear after this. She didn't have much left.

The Devil Pig is here!
|
Trystan watched as the silver-haired male impale an Armored Soldier through with his wooden sword, before shouting something about a soaring dragon. It was a masterful strike, which seemed to be a modified version of a battou-jutsu. In reality, to simply call it modified was a vast understatement. The fact that one would choose the much riskier method of leading with the non-dominant side first was able to increase the raw power of the strike itself. Not only that, the sheer speed at which the sword was drawn was astounding - so fast that Trystan could barely make out the form of the sword as it traveled its arc. The fighter inside of him trembled with excitement; if this technique could already deal so much damage with only a wooden sword, then the damage it could deal with a live blade must be incomparable. Trystan turned back to check how Nina and Star were doing. Nina, despite being unable to defend herself, had a head full of sense over her shoulders, and had stuck as closely as she could to Star without getting in her way. It was probably the best choice she could have made at the moment, as not only was she right smack dab in the middle of the Heartless-repelling light, she would be close to the target which the silver-haired one and himself were already covering. On the other hand, Star, after loosing another barrage into a charging Armored Knights, looked like she was almost depleted of either her magical reservoirs, her stamina, or a mix of both. However, he wasn't particularly surprised at this development. She had been throwing covering fire for both the silver-haired one and himself since the start, and had even bound the Mega Shadow so that it had not been able to enter the fray; it was doubtless that doing these tasks would have drained her. "That's one each, boys." Luckily for the three, the sakki in the area was diminishing rapidly, so in all likelihoods, there were no more aggressive Heartless close by. It was probably a good thing too. Though Trystan was still up and ready to go, the Fuse was already about half-drained. He didn't know much of the details, but it was made clear to him on the day the Heartless had arrived that if the Fuse disappeared, he would cease to exist as well. Turning his head, Trystan looked around, trying to locate the position of the three remaining Heartless. After a moment, he found them. However, they had already launched themselves airborne, aiming and all converging for the single weak chain of this group. Trystan bellowed out, launching himself after them, the blades on his arms reacting to this sudden burst of aggravation, reaching a dull roar. "Nina!" The three remaining Armored Knights had originally planned on retreating, seeing as the situation was already hopelessly against them. However, as they were about to return into the darkness, their eyes lit upon the odd one out. She had been standing in the middle of that accursed light the entire time, and had not done a single thing. Though they were Heartless, this in and of itself made them particularly sensitive to the feelings of their prey. She was scared. They could smell it in the air, see it on her face, feel it on their skin. It was absolutely delicious. Not only that, it looked like she was completely normal, unlike the other three which had decimated their ranks. With this, it was decided between the three. To have gone to a fight with twenty-seven of their fellow Heartless and to return without even killing a single one of the enemy was dangerous - their Leader would have them returned to the Darkness! So with this one kill, they were going to satiate their Master's predictable anger. Her head would make excellent proof of their deed. Perhaps they'd even be promoted and granted more power! Even if only one of them survived this kamikaze, that one would be spared of the Master's wrath. Their logic all ran parallel to each other, and of course, there was only one thought in each of their minds. The other two will perish. Only they would live! At her Master's voice, Nina looked up, then collapsed to her feet, paralyzed in fear. She stared upwards at the rapidly darkening horizon, the sky rapidly being replaced by a dark world, with six, sickly pale yellow moons in the sky. Trystan roared as he attempted to close the distance, his mind racing through his options. The Points would take too long to form and aim. Not only that, but the range of those things were too wide - it would swallow Nina up in the process as well, perhaps leaving nothing more than a bloody pair of disjointed legs. At the rate he was going, his blade would only be able to reach one of them. If only he'd seen it a bit sooner, if only he could move just a tad faster! Cursing to himself, Trystan steeled himself up for the best idea he could come up with at the moment. Throwing himself airborne, he slashed through one of the Armored Knights, causing it to screech in pain as the blade cut through its entirety. Then, after landing awkwardly on one foot, he lunged forwards, pulling Nina into a protective embrace, before landing onto the ground. He scrambled up onto one knee, hands stretched wide, keeping Nina behind him. "M-Master?" The Fuse suddenly disengaging, the darkness receded swiftly into the base of his neck once more. It was hard to see in the dark, but if one looked closely, they would see that his form was breaking up, appearing almost like he were a television program suffering from a bad signal. The sudden panic that he had felt had destroyed his concentration, and his form was starting to lose permanence. Breathing heavily in an effort to both catch his breath and bring his focus back, Trystan held his fists up in front of him, ready to fight back should they decide to keep attacking. Shaking him as hard as she could manage from behind, tears started leaking out of Nina's usually expressionless face, as she whispered to him, her voice still weak and trembling from her prior shock. "Master! Please stop! You're -!" After having missed their initial attack, the two immediately lunged towards Nina once more. There were only two of them left, and still, there was only one thought in their minds. The other will perish. Only they would live! |

As the two Knights came in for an attack, a demonic looking claw reached around it's neck. "Where do you think you're going..." Adam had a tight grip on the thing's neck before he squeezed, and rammed his Bokudo through the creature before ripping it out and slamming it on the ground that was lit up, the light devouring it's being and getting rid of the heartless. It was a good thing he had retreated back to the circle after his last attack. But the problem was the last remaining heartless, He rushed towards it as quick as he could but it had distance, the fact of the matter was it was closer to the light weilder as far as attack range was concerned. "Hey! You! We need help!" He yelled out to the girl noting the advancing heartless towards the couple as he was running towards it. |
