Arrival of Nothing to Nowhere

Silence.

It's a deceptive term. True silence is rare, the wind, creak of a building, shifting of the ground, your own breathing. Nothing was ever completely 'silent' so long as the person was there to hear it. But one could come extremely close. The wind dies down, the breathing slows and is calm. The sound of movement and be concealed.

It was an agent's job to reproduce this limited noise while doing things that might otherwise be considered quite loud. Murder, for one, was a task that was usually so obvious it could be more distracting than a stampeded directly behind you, but when performed with a certain manner, a finesse, then even murder could become so quiet that you could be in the process of dying right now and never even heard the knife enter.

Silence was the thing that had kept Zane alive for the months he'd been trapped in this hell surrounded by beings of immense power and intense murderous instinct. Perhaps the wisest way to continue to exist was to continue to hide, to find a nook wide enough for two and only leave for food and supplies from the kitchen at 'safe hours' they had long since established. Perhaps this was the best way to ensure longevity, but it was not the way of an agent.

The quintessential necessity for an agent is the ability to follow orders, but a natural curiosity has never impaired an agent so long as the mission and orders remain supreme. However curiosity meant going out of your way, when the mission was simply 'survive until pick-up' then curiosity WAS a detractor. But after weeks of maddeningly dull waiting, and at least one missed opportunity home, Zane was at his limit. He had to know something. He had to DO something.

Which led him here, a place even his enemies weren't allowing each other. If this was the one place they couldn't go, it meant it contained something worth knowing. And he would know it. Perhaps it'd be his end, but his end was sure to come anyhow at this rate. If not from this, perhaps his own blade? Madness gripped all with time.

And death was better than rocks and sparse rations as his 'life'.

Darkness and shadows crash against the ground,like waves rolling in from the ocean, The ocean ,hmm I saw it one time on a mission. The mission it went horribly wrong. This place was wrong something about it not right, it's different thats for sure. I am sure of nothing except that it was dark.

Thoughts flew through Hiraku's mind not on any real track but never the less they always worked themselves back around to were he started. Time had played its tricks on him. Luckily his training kept him sane enough to survive. That's about all they had done for the months of being here.

Curiosity was a curious thing. It often gets people in trouble or causes them to loose their mind, but in this place it gave Hiraku something meaningful to do. Somewhere new to go. They had been in the camp so long. It was a safe place but nothing more. There was nothing to keep their minds active. At first they tried to stick to their training but after a few weeks of venturing no farther than a mile from the camp They decided they needed to get to know the area a little better.

In their venturing they stumbled across a castle with a high tower. They stealthily broke in during what they thought to be night but in this dark void it very well could have been the middle of the day. They used all their abilities and training to keep from getting caught. They place seemed to be rather empty most the time. Except when some one or something would go into the tower locking the doors behind himself and after he would leave.

This tower was splendid and what made it so much more beautiful was a light that came from the window at the top of this tower. Light that was something they had not seen a lot of since they had been here. Even inside the castle its was dark. When they would light a fire at camp it would seem as if the light would fight to get beyond a feel of the flames. The light only caused more darkness but it was a comfort and warmth that always lifted their spirits.

Hiraku Shook him self and his thoughts slowly became clearer as if he was starting to wake up from sleep. They had been watching the tower for some time now and he was starting to wonder if they would be able to find a way in.

Zane leaned against the wall as a nobody moved towards the door. He carefully aimed, taking all the time in the world to line up his one shot. He knew he'd give himself away if he missed. One shot...

He put the ear-piece on his head, he slid the disk from his sleeve into his side pouch

RUN PROGRAM: EM.BEAM....

He lined up his fingers...

And shot.

A perfect beam of light, split right through the creature causing it to fade away into nothingness. He motioned with his right hand, signals they had practiced.

MOVE FORWARD
BEHIND ME
COVER REAR
ELIMINATE GUARDS
SILENCE

It was a perfect set of signals, a perfect system, they were pros.

Zane moved down the hallway, sticking to the wall. He dashed forward between long halls and then tucked into corners. His ally would spot out guards and use his Telekinesis to eliminate them out of sight. They were professionals. He stopped halfway down the corridor pulling his hands out.

TELL ME.
IF YOU.
SENSE ANYTHING.

He shifted, looking aorund.

TAKE POINT.

He said deciding to let the psychic lead, since he was the one who could feel out any unusual presences. He lowered his body and began to move behind his ally. All of it was smooth, like clockwork.

Hiraku took lead. Adrenaline started to pump into his veins. His heart pounding intensely. He took a knee and unzipped his backpack and pulled out a mask and hoisted the bag back onto his shoulder. He put the mask on and the eyes of the mask turned a dark blue color and color filled the mask were it had once been blank white.

Hiraku stopped for a second standing with his head down. He lifted his hand and signed.

TWO GUARDS
ONE LEFT
ONE RIGHT
HOLD POSITION

Hiraku took off down the hallway sneaking as quietly as possible. As he came into the room where the two guards were he formed a spear out of his barrier and and stabbed the one on the left in the back covering his mouth with his hand. As it dissipated he then threw the spear into the other one. As it pierced the guard the spear expanded and ripping the unsuspecting creature into pieces. Then he made his way back to Zane

With a quick motion he signaled the way was clear and they started into the large tower. The door was locked but Hiraku used his telekinesis to pick the lock while using a barrier to muffle the noise. As the door open Hiraku's mind was filled with thoughts of what seemed human human origin. He was almost certain of it, the creatures that they had been encountering had a primitive thought process, but this was more complex and harder to read. He could only get every other word. He tried his best but all he could make out was they were worried or in danger.

He quickly signed as best he could what he sensed and motioned that they should keep moving, guards were coming. Hiraku thought to himself

"It looks like we won't be bored now."

However, what the duo would soon find is that altogether the tower was rather barren; even of defenses. A few Nobodies hovered around but it seemed even they weren't there on some regular appointment rather they had set times to simply sweep through the lower levels.

It seemed, by and large, that the sheer threat from Xemnas to never enter The Altar of Naught unless he approved of it was more than enough to keep the tower devoid at most times. In truth, save a handful of more guards it seemed like the two infiltrators were the only beings within. However, this was not entirely so.

Far above their current location in the top of the tower one more person resided. She'd been there for some time now, months actually, but she had no way of tracking time. The top chamber of the tower was one large open room. Several bookshelves lined one wall holding tomes so ancient they existed before even many worlds did. Elsewhere lab tables held various open books or strange potions. The far end of the room had a large opening that was perfectly aligned so that the large heart-shaped moon in the sky was in perfect view from it.

It was in this top chamber, off to an excluded side where nothing of interest really sat, that the sole permanent resident of the tower rested. Inside a large cage-like cell sat several furnishing such as a bed, a desk and a small table with an accompanying chair.

Posted Image

Upon this chair sat graciously Ayumi Hitagawa, Principal of Hyakuji High School. However, in lieu of her usual bussiness-like suit and skirt that she wore for the school she was currently wearing a long flowing white dress that made her seem almost regal or as if she was attending some classical-themed ball.

Xemnas had personally captured her not long after Hyakuji had fallen into the darkness and long before she had the chance to contact anyone. Since that time she'd be reseigned, almost like a princess in some fairytale, to the top of this tower in whatever world they were in.

Xemnas spoke little to her and much of what she knew simply came from overhearing the man as he worked. Little was done to accomodate her. She was brought clothing, food, released at times along with escorts to see to showers or the like and provided books for entertainment but still it was no way to live; her only companion daily the odd heart-shaped moon she could see through the large opening at the far side of the chamber. Letting out a soft sigh she turned the page to the large book she had on the table before her and began to read:

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Hum," Ayumi let out a soft sigh as she leaned over slowly and let her cheek rest against the cool pages of the British Lit survey book, "Carroll... well... whatever world I'm in now it certainly isn't Wonderland..." Letting out an exhapserated, almost hopeless, sigh Ayumi Hitagawa sat back up and turned the page; it was time for a new poet. It wasn't like anything else eventful would happen today...

Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;

Zane heeded the alert. Someone was here? Well then he'd just have to accelerate his actions. He moved rapidly to the window, leaping out onto the side of the building before latching onto it with his climbing gear.

All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Zane scaled the wall rapidly, he was trained for this sort of thing as well. He left his climbing hooks in the wall for his partner to use, but he knew the boy had OTHER ways of traveling. Time was of the essence. However as he climbed he once more set eyes on Kingdom Hearts.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He stayed there for too long, eying it. Feeling the same immensity and dread. It was... growing.. Changing? In some way there seemed to be more of it. It seemed to loom in his vision. It was a beautiful savior, it was an ominous doom. It's size and shape. A heart... A heart.

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—

Now was no time to stop. He continued climbing, higher and higher up the tower, setting himself to the task of finding this person. Whoever they were he was sure they would lead him to the next part of all this. But even as he continued Kingdom Hearts stirred his own heart. Something about it thrilled him... and terrified him.

He eventually reached just below the window to her Chamber. He waited there as she read..

So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

As she set it down and began to look for a new book he slipped into her room.. He moved carefully along the wall staying in the dark shadow before making his move..

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

He leaned in next to her, touching her head and activating his power, pulling them both into her 'Dream' and whispered. "Goodnight.."

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

Dream Loading...

Ayumi.Dream.Active
~~~~~~~~
They both appeared in an infinite space of pure white...
Zander conjured up a chair and took a seat on it. "Good, now we can talk.." He said with a smile. "My name is Zander, and I am currently evaluating whether we are enemies or allies.." He motioned around him. "So why don't you start?"
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
Hiraku watched as his partner jumped out a window. For anyone else this would be scary but when your friends with a secret agent it's just another day. He pauses for a moment hearing the young womans thoughts as she read.
"I have heard this before." He stated smiling a little.
Hiraku quickly ran and jumped out of the window forming a barrier underneath him and started to circle the tower till he had reached the top. He flew straight towards the window jumped, tucked, and rolled into the room safely. He could hear his partner and the girl talking so he knew he had activated the Dream Weaver. This gave him some time to get ready just in case someone tried to enter the room.
He quickly pulled the sheets off the bed tied them to the bars of the cage and threw the end of it out the window. Then he positioned the girl in the corner of the room behind the desk to were she would be hidden by shadows. His trap looked convincing enough to fool a guard to get a little to close to the window but it wouldn't work on more than one but it gave him the advantage he needed.
He quickly hide himself and waited patiently.
Ayumi's eyes widened in surprised as she was suddenly torn from the reality of the tower and now found herself in the infinite whiteness floating before some unknown person. Technology was her specialty and it was pretty clear something tech-based was at work here, but for the time being she concluded it was best to play things off totally innocent. Clasping her hands together in a sort of nervous action she glanced around more.
"Z-Zander," She feigned nervousness in a light tone, "Are... Are you one of Xemnas' Nobodies? I don't think you're supposed to be in here... he always says he's the only one allowed in here save the guards he posts to the tower. Did he send you for me? I'm Ayumi Hitagawa..."
She let her words trail off into a clear uncertainty. From looks alone this Zander didn't seem to be one of the Organization. The Nobodies that had human forms typically wore those long black robes adorned with pointless zippers. Was he from Hyakuji? Had someone finally come to rescue her? She hated that she had to consider things like that; being the damsel in distress.
It'd happened months ago for Creed to draw out the students into combat and now it was already happening again. She wasn't this helpless, it had been her reapairs and arrival in Hyakuzor that brought the defeat of Zorc Necrophades, but there was little she could do in her current situation.
Zander situated himself on the chair and motioned up to the 'sky'. "I guess you're not very bright... Well it's a complex situation, information processing is pretty difficult.." He said idly. He shifted forward and took a more serious and dark look about him. It was clear he was now being serious with her and not just toying around like before. "My name is Zander Winston, I am here to gather information on Xamnas. You are my hostage in this endeavor. I am currently extracting information from you in a space that is most easily understood as a 'dream'."
He said this all very calmly, but also quickly. He didn't have long to remain in a 'dream' before it hurt his body. He'd have to keep this informative but brief. "That's the gist, as much as I will reveal to a potential threat. Now it's your turn.. Tell me who you are and why you are in this tower which is off limits to those... Nobodies." He repeated the word she had used for them. He didn't understand how a group of people could be 'nobodies' but whatever, now was not the time to argue semantics.
Hiraku continued to sit in the shadows waiting rather impatiently. He was tired of waiting. He had been doing it for months now. He started to look around the room when he noticed the heart shaped moon through the window. He had seen it before but he had never really stopped to look at it, which was surprising seeing as they had plenty of time on their hands.
The moon floated there in the sky so peacefully. It was almost beautiful. It did look different from any other moon he had ever seen, other than the fact that it was heart shaped. He thought back of the time he spent in science classes studying astrology and the other random facts about the universe as a whole, and not even in his text books had he ever seen anything like it.
It had a dim glow to it. Not as if it was reflecting light as the moon on earth would do, but as if it was emitting its own light source. Unlike the sun though it put of no heat. Hiraku began to wonder if it was man made or some natural phenomenon . One thing for sure it put off an eerie glow, that unlike the fires they had made when they were at camp, Its light seemed to penetrate the darkness and even the soul.
Shivers ran up Hiraku's spine and he reminded himself of his duty to protect his partner. He refocused himself on his mission and settled in waiting for something.... for anything to happen.
"Good," Ayumi replied in a more serious tone as she dropped the seemingly Innocent Victim act she'd been using and crossed her arms slowly, "I'm not a threat to you. My name is Ayumi Hitagawa, I'm the Principal of Hyakuji High School from the World I hailed from. I'm in this tower because shortly after my world fell into the darkness and we were scattered Xemnas appeared before me and captured me. He keeps referring to me with the title 'Princess of Hearts' but I'm not exactly sure what he intends to use me for; just that it has to do with his plans for Kingdom Hearts."
Ayumi's words trailed off slowly; she wasn't sure which bits of info were most important to say first. Zander had mentioned he was extracting information so maybe this field had mind reading properties as well. Regardless, letting out a soft sigh she continued, "This Tower is off limits because it's where Xemnas researches Kingdom Hearts. That moon... the heart-shaped one you can see beyond the opening to this chamber... that's actually concealing Kingdom Hearts while it's in its incomplete form. He's decieved my students and travelers from other worlds into completing it for him, but I don't really know what he is planning. He's told me that I'm the key... and I know he's been manipulating and withholding information even from the Nobodies that serve under him..."
"Please," her voice changed taking on a desperate almost pleading tone, "It might be too dangerous to try and get me out of here, but please... go find the people from my world and warn them... they shouldn't trust the Organization... they might not all know what Xemnas is doing, but they're still blindly serving him... they should stop defeating Heartless for the time being if they can avoid it besides maybe defending towns or innocent people..."
It was a lot to take in all at once and Ayumi's mind was racing. She didn't know if the field was reading her mind or likewise how much time they'd have, but she had to get the information she knew to those outside The World That Never Was. All this time everyone had been slowly waltzing along a path already set by Xemnas pulling closer and closer to an end that she was sure wouldn't pan out well.
"....Right, understood." Zander said with a small frown. Much of this didn't make sense to him, but in context it would. He knew this was a message meant for others. In stealth ops an agent rarely had the entire puzzle in front of him. He often was given bits of info from leaders and was charged with finding other bits that only made sense when combined with excluded info. A good agent did so well.
A great agent pieced this together and found new information never intended to be given away.
Zander released Ayumi's mind, it was time for him to return to his body before his heart stopped beating or some other similarly awful thing occured.
~~~

Zander sucked in a deep breath recoiling. In the short period of time he'd been insider her mind his body had been practically dead, no longer breathing and with increasingly weak heartbeats. He panted heavily sucking in breath after breath as rapidly as he could. He staggered a bit, rubbing his head..

"New mission objective is the same mission objective we always had.." Zander said. "I recovered some info that's vital to a resistance force. We've gotta get off this rock.."

He turned to face the doorway. "We'll do that the only way we know how.. We know these nobodies can exit... So we'll just have to get one of them to assist us.."

Hiraku jumped up quickly, slightly startled by a Zander taking in a deep breath. Hiraku settled himself as his partner began to talk and explain what little he had found out. It didn't give them much to work with, they already knew they needed to escape but now it had become even more important to do so.

How were they to escape. They had been looking for a way to do so for some time now and they had had no luck what would make now any different.Hiraku had to stay positive if they hoped to get anything done. It looked as it a whole lot of peoples lives had been put on their shoulders so there was only one option and that was that they had to get out by any means necessary.

As the white void faded Ayumi blinked several times to find herself back in the room seated at her chair as she had been. Glancing over to Zander and Hiraku she made a soft smile and spoke in a hushed tone, "Please hurry... and don't worry about me. You need to tell the others what I have told you; everything else will fall into place after that."

"Fall into place?" a deep but familiar voice emanated suddenly in reply to the Principal's hushed words. Without warning the door that Zander had looked to swung open almost as if it might rip off its hinges and standing in the open doorway was the owner of the voice: Xemnas.

Posted Image

"I don't know who you think you are," Xemnas began in grand and boisterous tone, "But I am the one orchestrating this performance. The only falling into place that will occur is along the scenario I've prepared."

Xemnas eyes Principal Hitagawa angrily as he played off her own words and then continued, "You two pathetic rats. Do you think I wasn't aware of you presence, scurrying around my domain? Nothing slips by the gaze of my power. You only stayed because I allowed it and you only got this far for the same reason. I find something particularly pleasing about watching pathetic beings filled with hope to the last second only to find themselves hopeless."

"I think it goes without saying," Xemnas rambled on his penchant for speech seemed never ending, "That I can't allow the two of you to leave this world alive knowing what you know. Your story ends here!"

Raising his voice into a thunderous roar Xemnas held forth his right hand as suddenly several etheral blades formed in the air near Zander and Hiraku instantly flinging into motion rushing at both with clear intent to impail them wherever they could strike.
