The Strike did move, but not far. Instead it once more switched packs, this time to one Ayane only recognized because it was the one that Elza had been given way back when. Then again, that still didn't tell her what it did... just that it looked similar. "<What's she-->" Seconds later there was a wink of light and her sensors went red. There wasn't enough time to react, so she did the only thing she could think of in such short notice--she ejected all the Impulse's sections and plunged the nose of the Core Splendor towards the beach. The first beam blew the Leg Flyer apart at the hip, while the second slammed into the now powerless chest flyer and vaporized it. "Tch! Damn... A little over four minutes to figure something out. I've gotta get to cover, fast!" She banked the Core Splendor hard, actually scraping it along some of the sakura atop the island as she curved a course as close to the ground as possible, heaving inland towards the bay. If she could get some topography between herself and the Strike, there might be just enough time to get distance, reform, and recharge. Tch... When did they develop that many packs for the Strike!? |

Aisia smirked upon seeing the armor explode, but saw that the core splendor within managed to escape and skirt the trees. She quickly changed her targets, took aim... ... and stopped. No. She wasn't about to shoot Ayane like this. She knew that this would kill her. But wasn't that the point of this fight... was it? There was that little hint of anger that resided in her, the Light that wanted her to pull the trigger to stop her once and for all. Something... perhaps whatever love was left? Or maybe it was just her feeling that shooting her down like this wasn't the best way to end it. ... Was she here to end it? After all, she did want to kill Ayane herself back in Shinya herself at Eijiro's suggestion. Or was it just... ... Was it just the inability of her own heart to express the sorrow that lay inside underneath all of that light? "<Come on! Don't make me impatient!>" she angrily said, explicitly making the radar lock on to the fleeing Core Splendor. Perhaps that pervading feeling of knowing that she could have shot her down but didn't (mostly from the inevitable incessant blaring of the instrument alarms) would push Ayane into action and actually DO something. |

And force Ayane into motion it did. Her sensors blaring imminent death but no fire heading her way told her one thing: Aisia was weak. She wouldn't shoot down the Core Splendor, even though she could have finished everything right then and there. "<Well... if you're not gonna finish it, then I'm taking you down! Leg Flyer, Chest Flyer, Force Silhouette! Deuterion Beam!" The Core Splendor rocketed skyward, combining with its mobile suit parts back into Force Impulse, then while still high in the sky was hit by a green beam from somewhere on the island, hitting the back of the Impulse's head and recharging its batteries in seconds. Well, now Aisia had let Ayane return to full strength. Impulse soared down through the clouds at breakneck speed, stressing even the active restraint systems as it jacknifed through the air towards the Strike, firing its beam rifle on the way down. "<You should have shot me down when you had the chance, Strike!>" |

Aisia said nothing as the Impulse reformed itself and charged at her with beam rifle shots. She simply sidestepped the shots, then took what were once the shoulder batteries of the unit and holstered on her fists. This time, she was going to bring this fight up close and personal. She shot up towards the sky, throwing a punch with her knuckle duster. If Ayane tried to block with it, she'd find out how bad an idea that was, as each punch delivered an energized electric shock, and each hit would more than likely drain her power in record time! |

No, not this time. If only it didn't take seconds to change packs, she could've switched back over to Sword again if Aisia was going to take it up close! However, there wasn't enough time or space to do it. She'd just have to comprimise, do things that the designer of this Gundam had probably never intended. She needed to abuse the crap out of every difference the Impulse had, turn its weaknesses into strengths! "<All right, Aisia... if you want to get close... let's dance!>" She didn't block the incoming punch. If all the Strike was going to do was punch with that oversized attachment, she'd go right through! Flaunting the superiority of its Core Block design--even if it was somewhat unorthodox--the Impulse's halves clearing the Strike and reforming behind it. And while she didn't have enough time to change into Sword Impulse... ...she had enough time to use one of its weapons! One of the Excaliburs fell from the holding rack on the passing-by Sword Silhouette right into the Impulse Gundam's hand, which whirled around to slash Strike from behind! "<How's that!?>" |

[START UP] WHOOSH. Aisia disappeared, and the only thing that Ayane hit was empty air and the electric afterimage of the Lightning Strike. The Strike suddenly appeared a couple of meters ahead of the range of Excalibur. To Ayane's credit though, her attack did manage to sizzle the side of one of her left Knuckle Duster, which barely evaded the slice. Trying to punch with it would cause it to break as a result, if she used it too much. But at this rate, she wouldn't need to. In the blink of an eye, she reappeared in front of the Impulse before throwing a hard one-two punch with her electrified Knuckle Dusters! |

Then, the Strike vanished. At first Ayane suspected that Aisia had broken her own promise of not using magic, but there hadn't been any pink rings of light which were the trademark of Aisia's teleportation. No... the Strike just vanished on its own!? As soon as it had disappeared it reappeared in front of her, its fists slamming into the Impulse and sending millions of volts of electricity arcing across the entire frame, even intruding into the cockpit and up through the controls. Ayane screamed as the Impulse suddenly fell out of the sky, crashing into the beach with a sickening thud. "<Wh...what just happened!? When was the Strike capable of that!? What the hell is going on!? Shit!>" Well, this was a predicament. Impulse didn't have anything designed to counteract mobile suits that were faster than it was; what in its universe was capable of moving at nigh-instantaneous speed, after all? If the Strike could move that quickly on command, there was nothing Ayane had which would be able to defeat it. Nothing her Gundam had, anyway. Which was when she got a very... very interesting idea. If she couldn't defeat it in an instant as a mobile suit... then as long as Aisia was defeated before realizing what was going on, there'd be no penalty for using her powers, right? "Gate... OPEN!" Nothing happened outside the Impulse. Inside, its pilot had opened the Gate of Void and was waiting for the right moment to unleash it. The Strike would need to be close, and it would need to be relatively motionless lest it not get caught in the center of the void. If Aisia had even a second to teleport away, she would. The Impulse blasted skyward, hovering in front of one of Hatsunejima's many hilltops. This was it... sink or swim. "<STRIIIIIIIIIKE!>" she yelled, then hit the separation command for the Core Splendor. Her intent was to send both the Chest and Leg Flyers at the Strike to distract it. If the Strike took them out, it would have to stop moving long enough to attack. In that moment, she'd open the Void! The Core Splendor, meanwhile, turned its nose up and tried to climb away... |

Aisia wasn't about to get distracted by the attack. She was running low power anyway - the Raitei Accel Mode of Lightning Strike was only powerful enough to let her use it for roughly ten seconds at most. And she had already seen earlier just what lengths Ayane was capable of with regards to her suit, and if she was willing to throw the chest and leg flyers away at her like that, then she would have to aim for the source - The Core Splendor Ayane was in! She didn't even notice that there was some kind of magical buildup inside the Core Splendor, only that burst through and punched through the Chest and Leg flyers, causing both of them to explode brilliantly around her. To Ayane, it would seem like it worked, destroying the Strike in the process. It didn't. "<AYANEEEEEEE!!!!>" Aisia's Strike, now lacking its Lighting Pack and one left arm, burst through the explosion, the momentum of her earlier hyperacceleration shooting her through it and towards the Core Splendor with an outstretched right hand! She would end this right here, right now! |

Now! Ayane thought with an evil grin as the Strike punched through her ejected parts and got caught in the explosion. Focusing on the center of the fireball, she opened the Void... "<AYANEEEEEE!!!>" came a yell. Even with the comm off, she could hear it. The Strike Gundam suddenly erupted from what should have been an explosion and subsequent black hole missing limbs and its backpack. However, with that momentum, it cleared the edge of her void and was headed right for her! There wasn't any time to react. The first moment was seeing the Strike soar out from a space that should have been destroyed. In the next, its hand slammed into the Core Splendor so hard that Ayane's hands left the controls and her eyes shut tightly in an irrational reaction to feeling impending crushing doom. In a last ditch attempt at saving her own life, the Gate of Void went out of control. Micro black-holes opened all around. Near the Strike, near the back of the Core Splendor, even in part of Hatsunejima's landscape. Everywhere but the cockpit. |

Aisia was no longer caring about what was happening around her. All she had was that single-minded thought to crush the Core Splendor. Seeing the black Gates all around her opening just served to enrage her further. However... something was holding her back from fully crushing the damn thing in her hand completely - seeing the silhouette of Ayane raising her arms in alarm. She was still angry. That much was true. But at the same time, seeing Ayane so scared like that and seeing her hands being the cause... The alarms suddenly blared incessantly, and she only now realized that she had lost thrust and was plummeting towards the mountain! Quickly, she tucked the core splendor into her chest to protect Ayane from the inevitable impact, but the out of control Voids that exploded around her also ate away at the mountain that they slammed into, including directly in front of them. It caused the mountain to kind of hollow out from the inside before both mecha collapsed into it, burying them under tons of rock just as the Strike finally gave out. [A couple of hours later] Aisia was hurting all over. "Ughhh..." Aisia groaned as she groggily roused herself from the darkness. What the hell happened? All she remembered was fighting against a powerful suit, one that similar as her Strike, and then crashing both of them into a landmass. Her Strike reverted back to its smaller Zecter form, causing the area to crumble around them. That was all she remembered. She thought that they would be killed as a result, and yet... She looked around in the dimly lit cave, the only light coming from the dim console lights of the Impulse's Core Fighter's cockpit and refracting itself against the minerals in the cave. It was the only thing left exposed amidst the rubble; the rest of its chassis was buried in lots of rubble. "Where are we?..." she thought. "Well, as long as I know where this is... I can probably find a way back here if I focus hard enough. I might need some help taking that pilot out of the rubble, so..." With that, she concentrated, and... ... Nothing. "Guh... no more mana..." she said as she genuflected on the rough and rocky ground from despair. How long were they going to end up staying here? |

The last things Ayane remembered were more clear to her than Aisia, though it took her longer to regain consciousness and get her bearings. The flashing red warning notifications in the Core Splendor's cockpit glinted across the lenses of her glasses, their crimson cautionary pulsing warning everyone much too late that there was nothing left to do. What had happened? Ayane knew. "STRIIIIIKE!" Ayane had yelled, firing the Impulse's beam rifle towards the white mobile suit flitting through the air. Why was it here!? Why did she have to be here, of all places!? Why... why was she always in the way of everything!? Even after finally running into one another, reuniting... why couldn't she understand this plan!? Why... why was she always between Ayane and her vendetta? She'd thrown everything she had at that damn mobile suit, and yet for something that was supposedly an older generation, it had managed to dodge most of her fire. Beam rifle shots, even reflected off her shield... beam boomerangs... it even managed to best her Excalibur. There was just one thing left she could think to do, the one thing that Strike Gundam wasn't capable of. Launch its mobile suit parts, then reform and deal the finishing blow. Just one problem. When she went to separate, Strike didn't bother waiting for the inevitable. Its massive hand grasped the Core Splendor, rocketing full-tilt right towards the side of Hatsunejima. What neither pilot was apparently aware of was that the spot Strike had chosen was not solid, giving way rather easily and trapping both core fighter and Gundam in tons of now-settled rubble. That's what had happened. For whatever reason, the Strike was nowhere to be found... but the Core Splendor seemed to at least be somewhat functional. Worth a shot, anyway. Giving the throttles a nudge, Ayane tried to get the fighter to break free only to sigh and release the controls as soon as she'd touched them. The familiar whirring of Deutronium-Conversion Drives throttling up was completely gone. The engines were toast, at least for now. With a good deal of luck, they'd be fixable. Either that, or she'd have to find another way out of this mess. The cockpit hissed open, Ayane killing power to the Core Splendor's systems as soon as it was open to save battery. This wasn't as sophisticated as models like the Freedom or Exia that had their own nigh-limitless power sources; Strike and Impulse were weapons created in an age where technology existed to neutralize Nuclear reactions required for self-sustaining reactors, so both ran on batteries. Sophisticated, specialized batteries... but batteries nonetheless. As long as the core fighter wouldn't be useful, it would be best to keep whatever power it had left on tap. "Hello~? Anyone still alive~?" she yelled, her voice echoing off the rock walls. If anyone actually answered, she'd be ready. This may be a world of giant mecha, but it was still a militaristic world. That Core Splendor had a nice survival kit right under the pilot's seat. A kit which also included a personal firearm. Quite useful thing, that. Still... I didn't see the Strike around. Did it fall away? Geh, what if I really am the only one stuck in this damn cave? |

"Hello~? Anyone still alive~?" Aisia gasped. That voice. She couldn't be sure back then. No, more like she didn't want to believe it. But it was true. The other pilot was Ayane. She wanted to look up and yell at her, spit back some obscenities like calling her an idiot or what not, but she couldn't muster the effort. "... Funny, I thought you wanted me dead," Aisia instead just muttered loudly as she slowly pulled herself to her feet. She winced as she felt a soreness in her right shoulder. Well, it could have been worse. She could have lost that arm instead. "So... it really is you," she said. There wasn't a hint of sadness in her voice as she said that, only resignation. "I had hoped against all hope that maybe that other pilot was someone else. Or maybe you're just a copy, just like you say that I am." ... Yeah, she was still rather sore about that part. The part where Ayane didn't seem to recognize that she was her Aisia, not some other copy that was spawned from another dimension. Back in the Simchamber, a certain maid sneezed. |

A gasp followed her call for life. A gasp that meant exactly what she'd assumed all along, solidified when the other girl finally mustered the strength to speak a proper reply. "...Funny, I thought you wanted me dead. So... it really is you. I had hoped against all hope that maybe that other pilot was someone else. Or maybe you're just a copy, just like you say that I am." Now there was a kicker. It even took her aback, the thought never even crossing her mind. If there were alternate versions of people like Saito and Aisia... what about herself? She wished she could blame her antics back in the actual L Universe on someone that wasn't her, but the fact that she retained the memories meant she was one in the same. What about elsewhere in that world? What about other worlds entirely? How many Ayane Isuzus, Ayane Ukiyas were there? How... were you supposed to prove who you were, when the worlds were collapsing in on one another and spewing rifts this way and that? She'd never given it any thought back when she'd assaulted Aisia at DkiDo Land. She accused the other girl of not being the same one, and yet never bothered to realize that she was accusing the other of being guilty until proven innocent. Now, she was in those shoes. How do you prove your innocence? Well, Ayane came up with the one way she knew. She walked towards the source of Aisia's voice, not too far from the Core Splendor. Though her eyes were slowly adjusting to the dim light, she retrieved a cell phone from her jacket and flipped it open, using it as an impromptu flashlight. It was plenty. There was Aisia, standing there injured, dirty, angry. Ayane, meanwhile, wasn't nearly as worse for wear. She had a cut somewhere on her forehead where the helmet had cracked and sliced her skin, but the rather ample restraint systems in the Core Splendor had spared her any serious injuries beyond bruises and soreness. All things she could ignore with enough willpower. "I... am not a copy. I came to Hyakuji looking for a challenge, and I found one in every other student. I was dragged to a beach by Hinata and the others, was embarrassed in front of everyone, and ran into a little girl swept up on the sand who I nearly fried to a crisp. I lived with that girl, Aisia Asakura. I fell in love with her. We embarrassed each other, fought through hard times, cried together, rejoiced together, and then the world came crashing down. I lost that girl, while I was flung... here. I ran into another Aisia, one who didn't have a damned clue who I was. A girl I used to get back home, only to find this disgusting mess of a hodgepodge world. And another Aisia. "You." As she spoke that last word, she was now face-to-face with the other girl, their bodies so close to one another that the chest parts of their respective pilot suits were touching. "Now that you know who I am... how much of that matches, Aisia? Are you my lover, or are you just another nuisance getting in the way of my plans?" Or are you both? The feeling hadn't gone away, not one bit. The closer she was to this girl, the more the Darkness inside her cried out, writhed in agony from exposure to the Light. Begged Ayane, begged her to stop talking and just press the pistol against Aisia's bosom and end the suffering. Pulled at her, pleaded for her to summon her Servants, so they might eat that pure Light Heart to protect their master. Ayane ignored it silently, endured it. No matter what had happened here, she would not be told--not by anyone, or anything--what to do. This Darkness was her power to control, to use to saddle up beside the Heart of the Enemy. It was not controlling her! |

"Both." It was a straight and honest answer. The Light in her was resonating to Ayane's Darkness, and the familiar feeling of digging her keyblade into the Darkness in order to seal it away was itching at her to do so. But despite that... she loved Ayane. She would never do that to her. At least, unless she forced her to. But for now, here they were. Lovers, yet enemies. Like some kind of tragic screenplay ripped straight from Shakespeare's manuscript, these two star and dimension-crossed lovers stood before each other, both chomping at the bit to either consummate their love or vindicate their hate. Which one would they do? Aisia wouldn't have the chance to answer that question, as she fell to one knee. "Ghhh. Sorry. I don't have enough strength in me at the moment. It... looks like you got me good," she chuckled bitterly. "If you could, you could just end it here. Maybe then I could stop getting in your way..." She sighed. "I mean, if being in the darkness makes you happy... who am I to stop you? Is my attempt to try and stop you some form of misguided love, a noble, if utterly pointless, expression of such?" She tried to get up again, but merely stumbled once more in the darkness before falling to the ground completely. She was panting from the strain, and she needed some rest. |

"Both." What to do? This was Aisia Asakura, she had admitted it. Yet, she had no intention of letting the Darkness escape unscathed. Eventually, it would come to arms, and only one side would be able to win. If only she could make Aisia see, could make her understand the ultimate goal. The Organization, the Light, none of that mattered. Keyblades and heroics were the slow route to the real infestation plaguing this universe. The quickest way to the darkest of the dark was to become dark yourself. To be absorbed right into the thick of the enemy lines, lying in wait until you were staring that final boss in the face. Then, you cut him off. In the end, neither Light nor Dark would matter. If Hyakuji were restored to its proper state, there would be neither distinction. So why did it matter which route you took, as long as the goal was accomplished? Perhaps that was why Ayane was allowed to become Kamen Rider Faiz. Because she believed that the End Justiphi's the Means. All her pondering ended as Aisia was no longer able to continue the staring contest, faltering down onto a knee and chuckling. "Ghhh. Sorry. I don't have enough strength in me at the moment. It... looks like you got me good. If you could, you could just end it here. Maybe then I could stop getting in your way..." "...stupid.." "I mean, if being in the darkness makes you happy... who am I to stop you? Is my attempt to try and stop you some form of misguided love, a noble, if utterly pointless, expression of such?" Aisia tried to get up again, but this time both knees gave out and she fell face-first towards the ground. Ayane grabbed her on reflex, pulling her into an embrace there on the dank, dark cavern ground. "Stupid... that doesn't matter. It doesn't matter!" No good... I can't... hold on... Tears fell from Ayane's eyes, both from the emotion of being able to hold Aisia and the pain in her Heart from pressing the other girl's body against her own. "You just don't... understand... "But that's all right. It's all right, now. I'll tell you where you're wrong, but right now you need to recover. Come on." Gritting her teeth, fighting her best against the screaming of the Heartless beings barely under her control, Ayane picked Aisia up and walked step-by-step back to the Core Splendor's open cockpit, leaving the pistol behind. Once inside, she closed the cockpit hatch and re-enabled the life support systems. That way, it would at least be warm, and the oxygen would be processed. There wasn't a ton of room in this cockpit designed for one, but with the majority of Impulse's systems inoperative, it didn't matter that a leg or an arm was resting on the side panels. Tch... here's wishing I'd taken first aid, Ayane thought bitterly as she fished out the emergency kit and popped it open. "Where... does it hurt? Anything broken?" It must have sounded pretty silly, especially considering the unlike-her uncertainty wavering in Ayane's voice. This was Aisia Asakura. As much as it frustrated her that Aisia had chosen the path of light, that she always seemed to stand right in Ayane's way... she loved this girl. She couldn't possibly leave her unattended. That... was when the Darkness had a wonderful idea. It was one very similar to the one it had come up with back at the Pokemon Center, when Kazuna had visited. What if... it could use this situation to seduce Aisia towards Darkness? Ayane and Aisia apparently had some sort of intimate relationship, so it should be easy! The only warning Ayane had was that the sickening feeling in her gut and the whispers in her mind suddenly vanished. She didn't even notice, not one bit. Instead, she felt relief. Now, she could be together with Aisia... together... with Aisia. Without thinking, Ayane leaned down and kissed Aisia softly on the cheek, resting her warm face against the other girl's. "You're so cold..." |
