Character Name: Seth Reneva Gender: Male Age: 24... and he's been that age for quite a while. Height: 5' 7" Weight: 140 lbs. Description or Image of Character Appearance: Seth is an average looking person. He has short, straight, black hair, which is unkempt. His eyes are a deep brown. He's slightly muscular and has a scar on his face, an X on the left cheek. He also has a tattoo on his right arm, which is a sword overlaid onto a shield. He has thinner eyebrows than most people and a slightly pointed nose. He's ambidextrous and has hyper mobility of the fingers. (Double-jointed for those who don't know. From the Other Wiki) Occupation: Wandering Swordsman Alignment: Dark Powers/ Abilities: Healing factor (Regenerates and heals wounds at a slow rate), Enhanced Strength (An intermediate between normal strength and super strength, no anchoring) Equipment You Have: One-handed Longsword (A gift from a young prince), Heater Shield (Emblazoned with the same emblem his tattoo is, which is the symbol for his team of friends), Plate Armor Cuirass (Also with the same symbol emblazoned onto the front) Personality Description: Seth is overall an okay guy. For the most part he keeps to himself and his own goals but he's not opposed to socializing and working with others. He's friendly but reserved, not willing to reveal much to people who he isn't close to. Those he feels he wants to get close to and those who pursue a more in depth understanding of him know that he doesn't want to burden anyone with his troubles. However when he sets his mind on something it can be quite difficult to talk him out of it. He also has a distaste for monsters and other non-humanoid creatures. He also isn't above doing evil to achieve his goals. He thinks that he must do everything within his power and anything necessary to accomplish his task. Despite that, and his willingness to do anything for power, he isn't truly evil. Still, he's become a bit intoxicated with that power. The prospect of gaining more changes his demeanor. He ceases to be friendly, vowing to remove people in the way of his obtaining power. He won't let anyone take power which he feels is rightfully his. And he'll cut through anyone who tries to take it away from him. He regrets his actions later but never seems to change as far as power is concerned. Personal History: He came from The World of Monsters, someone who lived during the days of old, a great swordsman working with a small band of adventurers to rid the world of what they believed was the monster menace. Together he and his friends faced many great beasts and evils, but triumphed over all in the end. Satisfied with their victory he planned to settle down with his love, but a great calamity claimed her life. Shocked, confused, and angry, he decided to do whatever it took to bring her back to life. To that end he set out to obtain power. Lots of power. He devoted himself to obtaining so much power that not only would he bring her back, but he'd keep her from dying ever again. He's lived on for many years, his natural healing factor keeping him from aging for a long time. Still, no matter how much knowledge and power he's obtained, no matter how long he's lived, it doesn't seem to be enough. Not to him. He must have more, no matter what the cost. Mashed Potatoes? There is no spoon |

My question is, you have a Wolverine-esque healing factor, correct? Can I get an estimated extent of how severe the wounds are that he can recover from? Does he fully heal from numerous gunshot wounds, severe burns covering most of his body, and even regenerate missing eyes? And compared to the severity, how long it would take for such a wound to recover? Hell Wolverine survived having his skin, muscles and internal organs incinerated from his skeleton, and he just regenerated again soon after...so I need more details. Correct(ish) and I'll gladly explain. =) Personally, while I think Wolverine is awesome, I didn't want to give my character the same over-poweredness in his healing ability. (IMO) He heals pretty much anything, but not immediately and not quickly. A lost limb will take at the most a few days to regen depending on just how much was lost. I'd say about 2 days max to get back a whole arm or leg. That's assuming he doesn't devote his time and energy to healing. He won't heal quick during combat but outside of combat where he can focus on healing he'll regen faster. He can also die from severe wounding. No matter how you slice it, destroyed vitals are destroyed vitals. He may be able to regen a heart or a lung (or any other vital) in time to prevent death, but it's unlikely during combat, and it assumes whoever did that ignores him and leaves him to die. Also, any foreign objects need to be removed in order to completely heal. Meaning that bullets left in will take up space that regenerated tissue would take up and that's BAD. As for severe burning: the healing factor kicks in while burning which is quite painful. That being the case, something that would incur third degree burns to others would end up causing second degree burns to him which would fully heal in a matter of minutes. Unless he doesn't stop being on fire for an extended period of time that is. So to sum up, his power is more like accelerated healing (Fridge logic still does not apply as going into the mechanics is beyond my ability to create) and not Back-from-a-single-cell. (Which IMO makes for a boring invincible hero.) And yes I like TV Tropes and frequently drop trope names. Sorry for any confusion this might create. (I also like parentheses and I believe I take far too much time to explain stuff. =| ) |
