Chizu let out a shout when she realized that she was naked and realized later on that that shout probably had a curse or two embedded in it. She was surrounded in a red bubble of sort though, and apparently no one else could see her because she couldn't see the others. Unless she was the only one who was visible, in which case she would be killing Nickle when she got out. She stared around her at the red bubble as Nickle mentioned she could change her appearance and clothes here. What would she look like if she could change how she looked? She thought about this for a moment, but after hearing Erin and Meglumar decide that they weren't going to change anything, she decided to just go ahead and stick with who she was. Since she didn't know what they would be facing exactly, she went ahead and picked attire she considered practical--black shorts, boots, a red shirt, gloves, and her hair braided behind her. There. Nothing to it. "Done," she told the others, waiting for them to finish as well. |

Fortunately, Nickle had not made is so they could hear each others thoughts. That would be a bit too invassive of someone's privacy. As Nickle continued to select his clothes, he couldn't help but mull over what the others must have been thinking. Why did they have to be naked in the first place? That was based on a fundamental flaw that Nickle had to correct. He had once tried pre-programming set attires into the game and for a while, basic suits and battle suits worked. However, as he tried to advance this, he realized that the mind became too strained, being forced to believe and accept that these clothes were real to all the sense, when they were not. It had happened to him first and then to his original 3 employees. They had to really focus to make the transition work without being knocked out. Nickle didn't want his employees or his customers going through that. The solution to it was simply getting back to basics. By that, it was taking consideration what happened when one entered a world. They entered it with nothing, just like a baby. All that was needed was that little step and the game worked perfectly for the player. So as courtesy, Nickle made sure to provide them with a vast customization screen and a private bubble to ready themselves. Nickle had expected varied reactions fro each of them, but he had just not expected Chizu to scream out so much. Nickle's bubble vanished and he appeared out of clothed in black knee high buckled boots, blue jeans tucked into the boots, blue fingerless gloves and a black t-shirt. "Alright, glad to see you're all ready. Still all the same, good to see that you all want to mature naturally." Nickle chuckled, wanting to just take the edge off the world before them. It was a world where digital pixels dissappeared in and out of the sky, floating up from the ground. The 4 of them were currently on a mountain top looking down towards a digital city lit up by neon lights. "It's slammin huh?" said Nickle, admiring his handy work. "Originally I had a whole bunch of different virtual reality games, but it felt too disjointed. So I created an interactive world, where you actually need to travel around to different places to play certain games. And you can pick up soe nifty items on the way and fight computer generated monsters if you feel up to it." Nickle smiled, "So here's the rundown kids. Like our world is governed by gravity and time, this place also has rules. Basically, when you arrive here, you get some parameters. One weapon slot, one equipment slot and one armour slot." Nickle grinned, extending his arm, "However, as applicants and possible employees, you get 2 bonus slots right off the bat. By playing different events, you can earn slots, equipment, collectibles and so on. The skies the limit and there's no levels. It just requires your own skill." Nickle then extended his arms, materializing his keyblade, "This is the newest piece of equipment, so even if you can't summon a keyblade on the outside yet, as employees you can in here." Nickle grinned, "Now, this is the basic test for you guys. You've each got a weapon of your choice to start off with, it doesn't have to be a keyblade, but I'd recommend it because of the Heartless. Just imagine long and hard what you want it to be and it will appear, but once it does, you can't exchange it." Nickle then folded his arms and got a bit serious, "Now then. The test is to got out and find one armour and one equipment piece to fill up your slots. At that point, you'll get an exit portal. If you fill up the other two slots, you'll get some bonus points and maybe something extra." Nickle let his keyblade dissappear and waved his hand over the three, spreading data particles over them. A watch appeared on each of their wrists. "You can use those to access information about almost anything. It also has an inventory for you that will auto-update itself whenever you encounter a program assistant in the game, a monster, types of gear and most recently Heartless. Remember, the game monsters are capable of hurting you, but they won't kill you permanantly. You'll just be sent about 500 meters back from where you fought them. The Heartless however, will destory you, just like they would in the real world." Nickle smiled, "I trust you'll each do great. If you run into any trouble I'll be there to help you." That last little sentence would leave a bit of an uneasyness, which was only driven home by what Nickle did next, "See ya guys." With that, Nickle vanished into a blue light, teleporting Megaman style. Now it was up to them as to what they did. Explore the mountain, the hillside forest near the bottom of the mountain or make a break for the city off into the distance. |

Eeh...so it's like an MMO... Erin thought as Nickle explained the mechanics of the VR world. I probably won't have all that much time to play between having to actually work here and the heartless...but maybe when Hyakuji is back... She was a bit scared of the news that heartless could kill her for real, but it wasn't any different from real life. Here she could just log out before dying, so it was actually safer here than outside. Erin summoned her keyblade and looked around. Faced with so many choices in an unknown world, she didn't know what to do. I'll just follow Chizu. she thought, It would be better for us to team up anyway... |

Chizu stared down from the mountaintop, her eyes wide. Despite her earlier misgivings, she couldn't deny that this was completely awesome and she was definitely coming here next time when she wasn't working. Or when Hyakuji came back. "Nickle, this is awesome," she said, placing her hands in the pockets of her shorts. She glanced at Nickle and wondered if she should have chosen different clothes. If she changed red to blue and shorts to jeans she would be wearing the female version of his outfit. Her expression turned serious as she listened to the rules, folding her arms and nodding. Okay, so it was like a video game, with the added element of her actually being in it. She guessed her powers didn't work here then, that would make it unfair. And would probably break the machines, so she didn't try. If powers didn't work and Heartless existed, though, she probably wanted a keyblade. Problem was, she had no idea how hers would look like or how she wanted it to look. She frowned and closed her eyes, extending her hand as she tried to decide on an appearance. Evidently she couldn't, but the game decided to be nice and make a decision for her. (Keyblade) She frowned as she stared at the keyblade in her hand. It was boring, but hey, hopefully it was at least functional. Was that Mickey Mouse on the end? She took a few experimental swings before looking up at the other two. "I'm heading down to the city," she said, inclining her head towards it. "You guys?" Whether they decided to come with her or not, Chizu would take off towards the city at a run, keyblade in her hand. |

Well this truly was an impressive simulation of reality. Well, this was going to be an interesting experience. Who knows, this time he might not cause him to suffer from some sort of a horrible accident. He looked on as Nickle explained the dynamics, but really Meglumar was not paying attention too much. Weapon would come when it was needed, blah blah, mind made it, no powers. He was too busy looking at the sky above. Still, he did hear the goal. Find stuff for the slots they each had. Simple enough. Hmm, he wondered what the best source of said items would be. Also, whether or not to be alone. This wasn't a competition....was it? Bah. He'd stick with the group. They would be working together after all. Chizu mentioned something about heading to the city...before running off at full speed. "...I have no better options." He said to Erin with a shrug, before also taking off to the town. |

As three of them began to head off down the mountain, within the span of several minutes, they'd find that the rocky outcrops were giving way to a thick green forest. The path was still more or less steep and they'd need to watch their footing, but everything was going smoothly in regards to travel. The challenge now was to consider how to get the loot and that meant exploring. There were several different pathways all around them, each one going down the hill but twisting off into another set of trees. However, as the progressed, they'd start to notice that there were things going on. The rustle of a leaf, the crack of a branch, the crumbling of a rock. And then out of no where, a Scyther and an Ariados came into view several meters ahead of them. Now if they'd ever played a Pokemon game, then they'd be sure to recognise at least one of them. A giant praying mantis and spider pokemon were hard to miss when they appeared so real. Apparantly Nickle had failed to mention that this world was one hell of a fusion of games. They had no Pokemon to engage Scyther and Ariados with, but their keyblades were technicaly weapons. It wasn't unheard of for a person to do combat with a Pokemon, or move on and let the two bugs continue their foraging. |

"Uhm..." Erin didn't recognize the monsters at all. "Aren't the first monsters usually like, cute little slime blobs and or something...?" She looked over them apprehensively. They looked more dangerous that what she had been expecting to run into. "I'm not sure if we should mess with them..." Erin had never actually hit anything with her keyblade before, despite having had it for quite a while. She had heard that it was good against heartless, but she had no idea what it would do to giant bugs. |

"Guess these guys didn't get the memo," said Chizu as Erin commented that the first monsters looked too tough. She frowned as she thought about it for just a moment. On one hand, they could get away. On the other hand, if they did absolutely nothing the whole time they were here, they weren't likely to get any weapons. Her free hand rested on her hip as she deliberated, tapping quietly. She was itching to fight them. But at the same time, she didn't want to get lost in the weeds instead of looking for the big picture. She glanced once at Erin and nodded quietly. She would have attacked them had she been on her own, but turning them aggressive would mean getting the other two involved. Technically, they weren't in Arcadia right now, but if they were then she would be the most senior. She sighed and looked away. It sounded almost regretful. "Get moving," she told Erin and Meglumar, inclining her head towards the city. "Let's not waste time." |

Well this was an interesting scenario. Meglumar had never before seen creatures such as these. They did not seem friendly though. "Curious life forms." He said simply, observing them. They seemed to be rather...feral. The others seemed to agree on not fighting them. "Very well then. He said, before thinking of something. He looked up to the trees above, and climbed one for a second, before grabbing some fruit from it and jumping back down. "Perhaps a peace offering will also aid us. These animals have not attacked us, so we should be grateful. The stupid little farmboy, him and his care for animals.....er...pokemon. He tossed some fruit about halfway between them and the monsters. "Eat up." He said, before joining the group on the patch tot he city. |
