It looked like rifle fire just wasn't going to cut it against this number of enemies. Not coming from Exia, anyway. It was time to get a bit more...personal. The last few shots from the GN rifle as it unfolded went wild, thrown off-centre by the weight of the GN blade swinging down and locking into place with a loud whoosh of hydraulics. It should have came to Saito earlier, having done this before and all. The best way to fight an army wasn't with guns, it was with swords! Exia would have to make do with just the GN sword and long blade for now, dashing towards the Iron Mask troops with both blades flashing through the air. |

Tracking down a magical disruption was a matter of course. Sorcery was sorcery in any world, and basic underlying principles never changed. Even if theory and execution changed, much as how wings in every world worked the same way, there was always the same basic principles that applied that allowed for detection, and for the more skilled, tracking and localisation of spellcraft. Not that it made going through the forest any easier. It would have been simpler to fly around in the Falken, but it also would have dropped her sensitivity. It was already a pain enough to be able to follow this. Even a ritual this large was hard to detect at best, and frankly speaking, being detected at all without being close by was often the mark of a third rate spellcaster. Regardless, the various minor monsters and heartless weren't her problem. The facility's own defences could deal with them she was sure, and so she evaded them and kept out of their way as she moved closer and approached the spellcaster. As soon as she found him, it was simply a matter of disrupting whatever he was doing and taking him out of the equation. |

"Are you there...?" SH would receive a strange message, one that eerily echoed inside his head. Normally one would think nothing of it, the heat of battle making things like that largely ignorable...but alas, whatever it was would merely repeat the question every so often...soon enough though the source of the message would make itself known, flying leisurely beside the Raynos... ![]() "Are you there...?" Of course, without waiting for an answer it "attacked". And by attack, I meant it would just turn it's head, look at the Raynos, and for some reason cause a purple void to appear near it, even the smallest contact with it would cause whatever was inside it to just...vanish. It wasn't an attack that was necessarily aimed either, it was something that focused on a space, not what was in it. The KingDan was sent back thanks to the rocket punch, staggering a bit but largely unharmed thanks to it's heavy armor...however before attacking once more it held it's sword up high, which created a blinding flash, largely concentrated on the Mazinger, when the light cleared however...Mazinger was now surrounded by four KingDan's, each of which were already charging forth with their blades brandished! The demonic Guul was not completely defenseless, nor was Brocken foolhardy enough to charge so recklessly at another battleship. The pseudo-headless general of the Sky division of Dr. Hell's army merely raised his staff of Bardos, causing a strange turtle-shell like object to detach from it's underbelly, one that would fly straight into the path of the King Zero's attack... And blocking it. The green shell would soon turn around and reveal it's true form: the Jeiser J1! ![]() Soon enough, from each of it's arms several large laser beams shot forth at the King Zero, bent on defending the large battleship with all it's got. Speaking of the ship it wasn't out of the clear just yet as the Daikumaryu had already began returning fire towards the Guul, but Brocken wasn't worried at all, and once again waved the staff, this time in a more commanding nature as Brocken barked out the single command. "DESTRUCTION RAY! FIRE!" and so the red eyes fired it's own beams to counter the Zaul Geyser, the pair of blasts merely colliding mid-air! The Garuda and the Fangas were largely unaffected by the Raynos' shots, but they didn't seem to care as they ended up following Brocken's orders to go straight for the Lab: if the Strike was content in getting caught up in a personal battle, who were they to complain? The lab was still largely defenseless so it should be easy to get the Japanium Ore! Just as it's head blades returned, the Garada merely used them to deflect the duo of rocket punches, all the while moving to avoid the large Spirit Beam. These mechanical beasts were dead serious it seems, programmed well enough to do more than destroy some buildings. Dr. Hell really wanted the PHOTON energy that the lab had possessed. All of a sudden it's torso would open up in response and launch a volley of missiles at the Meister. The Doublas in turn moved to avoid the giant blast, losing it's left arm in the process. It was...the only thing allowing for the Doublas to move out of the way easily was because the Giga Den-Oh literally was 3 times it's height, the smaller target proving to be difficult to destroy with larger scale attacks. Regardless, it's quad eye lasers once again fired upon the Giga Den-Oh! As for Arietta, she would soon find a giant tornado coming her way...and the source was just a ways off: the Stronger T4! It seemed the Hell Army was intent on blitzrushing with everything they had, as more and more people kept showing up, impeding their progress! ![]() ![]() And as for the Exia, another strange Mechabeast would come flying at it, the GlossamX2! It just made a beeline right for it, aiming to cut it in two with it's scissorhead! Not the bladeclash one could have hoped for, it was still a force not to be underestimated! "Who goes there!?" the dapper black man would yell out, being tipped off something was approaching thanks to the aid of a bird under his control. With that he materialized a spear in his right hand, his ritual was just about complete and all that was left was for the Heartless to finish mutating like he wanted. Regardless, he kept his senses peeled: he wouldn't let his efforts go to waste right here. Kouta on the otherhand would be meeting with the tiny army that Miyuki had let go to the lab: a bizarre mix of marionettes with scythe hands and mechanical monkeys, mixed with actual live animals and some heartless here and there. As such Kouta had pulled out the Gran Kaiser's gatling gun and began spraying the smaller threats with bullets. It seemed the barrier wasn't up yet so he had to the hold the line himself for the time being. For whatever reason the Mazinger Army units were having trouble actually deploying... "Tch...hey guys, I could use a little help here!" Kouta barked out...only to hear something different from the chattering...a loud rumbling in the distance. And Kouta wasn't given much time to react, it was moving too fast for him to react...but what was coming would make itself known... As the Gran Kaiser had been impaled to the wall of the Photon lab by a giant golden bull like MechaBeast: The Taurus D7. ![]() Kouta's loud, pained yell over the Kaiser's speakers were...disturbing to say the least, as even the robot's face contorted in pain. But...even with a giant hole in the robot's torso, Kouta would reach for the pistol stored in the robot's right leg, draw it and just shoot at the Taurus, all the while trying to break free...! “Yes!” Hajime shouted when the Rocket Punches scored a direct hit on Kingdan, sending the armored warrior robot staggering back while the Rocket Punches returns back to their launchers with a resounding slam and clank of metal. Before he could continue however, Kingdan raised its sword and from it, a bright light was emitted, shocking and blinding Hajime. When the light finally cleared, he would find not one, but three more Kingdans around him, charging towards him with their swords. Half instinct, half surprised, Hajime launches Mazinger up into the air fast, and looked down at the four gathering where he just stood earlier. “That was close!” Hajime commented before stabilizing Mazinger in midair and aims the foreward red heat sinks downwards at them. “Set fire pattern to spread, take this! BREAST FIRE!!” With that, the heat sinks flared up, and from it, a beam of red super heated thermal energy spread out and downwards at the Kingdans!

Did that turtle just... "...block our attack!?" What could only be explained as a massive turtle suddenly appeared from under the Guul and deflected the KingZeroGasher's blast before whirling about and firing a spray of laser blasts in return. It was time to test the defensive capabilities of the King Zeronos! Ryuuji pulled the left arm forward and activated the Liner Naginata Cutter, this time keeping it spinning in place. As predicted, the laser blasts struck the spinning blades and were deflected away from the super robot harmlessly. Which meant they had to try their last weapon if this was to be considered a successful shakedown! Ryuuji! Use the drill! "Got it! Let's go! LINER...DRILL!" The massive drill which acted as the right 'hand' of the King Zeronos began spinning as well as they flew towards the Jeiser J1, intending to jam that drill right through its juicy center! "So you've come here too, Ayane... Why!? Why do you keep doing this!?" came Aisia's voice over the open channel as the Strike fired a single shot back at Blast Impulse. Ayane sighed and blocked the shot with her shield, the green beam splaying across the front of the shield and vanishing as its energy was absorbed by the Variable Phase Shift. "Why?" Ayane replied, switching her comm away from the one her supplier was using. "Maybe I have a grudge against this world. Maybe I have a grudge against you. Most likely, though... it's both!" There was only one more volley of missiles left, but regardless Ayane once more fired everything the Blast Impulse could offer as she soared down towards the Strike. Rather than focus the shots on the Strike, however, she aimed her weapons at different locations. The Kerberos plasma cannons split apart slightly and aimed to either side, while the Deluge railguns aimed for top and bottom and the missiles were set to go straight for the target. A technique she used often back in the arcade to box an opponent in, though normally she didn't have quite the firepower at her disposal. The problem, as Ayane saw it, was that this battlefield was becoming too crowded and annoying. That giant... robot... girl... thing was spamming the airwaves with a song that sounded like it belonged in the Famicom era, and the Flying Soldiers were not ignoring Aisia and Ayane just because they were in the middle of a personal feud. Hmm... We'll have to move away from here, then.. Edited by Ayane Isuzu, Feb 11 2010, 10:18 AM.

The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)
|
"Okay....we are being attacked by a faceless, half-naked golden golem with wings. Just when I thought this day would get boring." SH remarked, not even bothering to fire upon the newcomer. The Raynos quickly swerved it's path away from the cloud, allowing the updraft from the mini-sonicboom to blow the cloud away from it. "Shall we attack, Master?" Kyra asked, now steering the aircraft to head downwards at a relatively low speed towards the Protonics Lab, their target being the Taurus D7. How the heck that large mech got so freaking fast to attack the wall was beyond her calculations, since the other robots should have been taking their time. "Only on the bull thing for now, Kyra. That shirtless golem doesn't strike me as the kind of machine to be affected by the weapons the Raynos carries. We'll have someone else handle that mech. Also, did you hear that voice? It sounded like Snowflake, only a bit crisper." SH said calmly, lining up the circle targets on his screen. "Nope, must be a human thing. The Weasel Triplets have been chatting for a while in my head, so their random talk must have drowned it out. Target is locked." Kyra stated, as the Raynos came within striking distance of the Taurus. The Target Circles glowed red, confirming lock-on and "Roger that. Let's attack the joints awhile that other robot is keeping it busy. As whoever is calling for me, I am here. To save you if need be." He called out to no one in particular, since there was always the chance some hot ghost girl was calling for assistance from beyond the grave. Pulling the trigger, the Raynos fired away at the Taurus's red areas that seemed the least armored on it's backside. Namely the hooves, the swollen red ball butt, and the red knee joints that leaned out. |

"Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" screamed Mitsuki as the two energy beams collided midair. It looked like both beams were of equal strength, and if this keeps on, the Daikuumaryu will run out of energy. Quickly closing the Zaul Geyser ports, Mitsuki then maneuvered the Gaiking towards the side to try and soften the damage from the beam. The resulting jolt from the Destruction Ray shocked her a bit while also gashing a part of the space dragon's neck. Worried about her dad, she quickly opened the communication port to the main bridge. "Dad, are you okay?" questioned the girl. "I'm fine Mitsuki. But if we keep doing this, then we can't possibly win! The Zaul Geyser wasn't strong enough!" Just then, Mitsuki thought of something "Dad, let's use the Miracle Drills." The young girl was referring to the pair of drills located on the Daikuumaryu's hangar. Designed to be used as a pair of close combat weapon attachments, the drills are powerful enough to pierce through larger asteroids with no problems at all. "Close quarter combat isn't really a good idea Mitsuki, especially against something with a beam cannon that powerful! We'll fall first before we can even get closed!" the doctor complained. The drills are powerful enough to be able to do some major damage on the other ship, but having the Daikuumaryu use it is way too risky. "But dad! We can let one of our allies use it! Like that lion robot over there!" said Mitsuki while pointing at the Ototaku Meister. The doctor thought about it quickly. Considering the size of the robot, and the fact that it has two hands to use, it is technically possible for it to use the Miracle Drills. "Mitsuki, its too risky! The drills might not connect properly!" "It will be okay! We won't know what will happen until we actually do it!" "But!" "If you're worried, then let's ask the person in the robot first!" "I- I guess we can do that. Mitsuki, can you prepare the launching system while I contact the other robot?" "Sure!" Mitsuki was excited. After all, this is something she has never done before! Quickly pressing several buttons, she made sure that both drills are now properly attached to the launching pads. Meanwhile, Doctor Tsuwabuki opened up a communication link with the Ototaku Meister and said "This is the Daikumaryu. We have a risky plan, but it just might work! Would you be willing to help us?" And with that message, details about the Miracle Drill and how it's supposed to be attached was also sent to the Lionhead-chested mecha. |

Nayuki frowned when the rocket punches returned to her, since her opponent was able to deflect them with the scythes on its head as well as dodge her Spirit Beam. She had just fired the beam, so she wasn't sure if she could use it again so quickly! "Use the barrier!" Kivat yelled. "Oh, right!" This time, Nayuki raised her hands up, and an invisible barrier stopped the missiles in their tracks. The strain to keep them from penetrating the shield kept her from attacking again though, and she knew they had to do something! "This is the Daikumaryu. We have a risky plan, but it just might work! Would you be willing to help us?" came an incoming message on her comm. "Eh?" Nayuki fumbled with the comm controls before finally being able to hail back Doctor Tsuwabuki. "Um, I'm not sure what you have in mind, but I'm all ears!" Liz grinned when she saw the lasers burn off one of the arms. "Heh! That's a direct hit!" she cheered. "Don't be too cocky though! He's still standing!" Otoha warned as Kanna pulled out the Radome Shield from the back. It was a good thing she did, apparently, as the Doublas fired off a beam attack of its own! "Hang on!" Kanna warned as she raised the shield to block the attack. The difference in size pretty much meant that it wasn't going to get pushed back anytime soon." "Hey, I bet we can show it what we can do with a shield," Kanna chuckled. "Go for it," Otoha replied, but then she stiffened at something. "... WHOA! Liz, we need to keep our eyes open!" Otoha suddenly said as she turned towards the direction of the Zoid. "... NOW what?" Liz groaned. "If that's your troll-sense tingling-" "Actually... it's my rape sense." "... Haaah?" "I sense delicious and imminent rape around the corner!" "You're not making any sense!" Liz groaned. With a blast of its foot rockets, the giant train robot blasted forth to do a shield bash on the Doublas! Aisia saw the railgun blasts being fired at her, and she was about to instinctively dodge the flurry of attacks, but... something was amiss. ... They're not aimed at me directly... just in my general direction... It became apparent what she was doing when the missiles were headed directly towards her. "<...>" Aisia sighed as she raised her beam rifle and let out a shot. It was aimed to do two things. The first and most obvious was to shoot down one of the missiles and penetrate to the Gundam behind them, specifically the missile canisters themselves. The second was that the hope that the explosion of one of the missiles would destroy most of the others around it, leaving her with a lot less to worry about. Still, there was at a couple of missiles that got through, and she took those squarely in the shield. At the moment, she was just seeing red. There, in front of her, was the one person who just enraged her the most right now. She broke her promise not to use her Gate not once, but TWICE. The second time... it changed. Indeed, in the back of her mind, Aisia wondered just how badly Ayane changed when she came back, and she wondered... if she could still feel anything for her anymore. Well, she did, but it wasn't love at the moment. It was just anger and resentment. Was it just that she knew exactly what Ayane wanted too? Or was she just selfish? Either way, the pair, despite being so estranged from each other right now, still knew how the other thought. "<... Fine. If you hate me so much, let's end this someplace else!>" she yelled as she stopped and raised an arm. Suddenly, two pink circles would appear under both mecha and magical energy would surround them. Aisia was about to finish casting the spell for their little duel and send them there, but a part of her hesitated. What if she ran into that other Ayane? What would she say then? ... No. It just felt... appropriate. "... Sorry, Otoha. I need to finish this and count up my sins." These were the last words Aisia would say over the radio before the pair of Gundams disappeared. |

"A-Ari! Incoming!" Miku's panicked voice came out of the sensors as Arietta continued to sing. The singer didn't panic, calmly breaking her song for just a bit to help the AI with the evasive maneuvers. The Vocaloid might have been Miku's 'body', but the AI was still rather inexperienced with doing the piloting duties on its own. A strange quirk that Arietta found slightly appealing. Grasping the controls, Arietta pushed the thrusters to full power, the sudden burst of energy cracking the ground underneath as she flew into the sky. Spinning in lazy circles, the Vocaloid twisted around the incoming tornado, using its superior speed to get out of the way. Arietta settled the Vocaloid down farther away, her gaze fixated on the tornado beast as she grabbed the microphone again. "Miku, release Harmony and Melody." "Right away!" Harmony and Melody, a twin pair of dagger-shaped implements attached to the Vocaloid's legs, spun out of their sockets and began spinning towards the Stronger T4. Razor-sharp and deft that cutting through metal, Arietta guided the instruments to wreak havoc on the beast, aiming to slice it into pieces. |

Amongst the hordes of Iron Mask troops rushing across the ground, there wasn't a single foe worthy enough to engage in single combat with the gray Gundam dashing through them...at least until the stag beetle-looking Glossam X2 barreled straight towards it, trying to headbutt it with those giant blades poking out of its head like demented rabbit ears. Both Exia and its pilot seemed to recoil in suprise as it bore down upon them, pausing with blades still extended to observe the strange newcomer. After all, being cut in half wasn't exactly the best idea in a mobile suit with a torso-mounted cockpit...and then there was the fact that Saito would be the one that would end up having to do all the repairs. "<Like hell that's gonna work, your tactics are as blunt as your head!>" the blue-eyed boy yelled over the loudspeaker as Exia's GN sword and long blade came down, preventing the large blades on Glossam X2's head from closing around its torso. Now that he wasn't in danger of a slightly too short haircut, Saito thrust the control sticks forward and unleashed a vicious kick at the Glossam X2's chest with Exia's left leg, trying as hard as he could to make some breathing room. Right, like she was about to answer him. Keeping out of sight, she dropped to a crouch behind a tree. It was a tough choice between staying completely behind cover or greater stability, but it was the jagged edge of effective pistol range. Her mind just went fuck it and the marksman stepped to the side, pistol up in both hands. The man was centred on her sight picture, and she fired to his centre of mass, and the Rouzer roared with flashes of light as she unloaded a mass of fire screaming towards his chest. Seeing as there is no Protonics Lab in the vicinity though, it was a wonder where exactly SH was heading. Regardless, ignoring the strange yellow creature was a mistake, because no sooner than he had attempted to just run away and put his sights on an apparently non-existent Taurus attacking a non-existent locale...he'd be in big trouble. Because answering the faceless enemies question was perhaps the worst decision anyone could make. A Festum...a strange alien being that simply asked the question "Are you there" in order to connect itself to humanity. By answering it, you create a bridge with it. A bridge that allows for assimilation. In other words, the golden Festum had teleported and latched onto the Raynos with ease, it's appendages were making their way inside...and into SH's cockpit... Hajime would be in for a big surprise as all the KingDan's down below him. His Breast Fire was on the mark, that much was certain but...there were no remains when the blast cleared. Not even the smallest bit of molten slag, which, while not uncommon for the power attack, it was also highly unlikely. Of course, the Iron Fortress would not get much time to think about that detail, as another KingDan had made itself known: standing atop a building, it's sword cackling with electricity, electricity it would shoot at Mazinger without a second thought! The Jeiser would not let KingZeronos get close, however. The moment it saw the drill on the machine's arm drill began powering up...the fan in the Jeiser's center began spinning as well. KingZeronos would be in for a surprise at it drew near, as a powerful gust of wind was blasted forth... Only, should the Zeronos come into contact with said wind even if only for a bit, the two pilots would soon find that it was more than hot air: it was very corrosive! With the Otataku Meister on the defensive now, it was time for the Garada to kick it up a notch apparently. Pulling the scythe's off it's head and combining into an even larger blade, the mechabeast hurled it at the mockery of brave-robo in order to attempt cleaving it in two! The Doublas in turn braced itself for the shield bash....and then used it's extendable neck to try and wrap it's heads around it's arms and then subsequently rip them off: because it's eyes flared up and began firing it's beams at the machine's arm to aid in doing so...! The Stronger T4 merely began using it's whip arms in order to attempt and knock the flying instruments of doom out of the air and protect itself. While the arms were in fact also sliced off in the process, it was a simple matter of them "growing" back out. For now, it appeared to at least be on the defensive, giving the songstress some breathing room. The Glossam was easily kicked away, but not entirely out just yet. The abdomen parts opened without bothering to try and readjust itself in the air, it launched a volley of chainsaw missiles right at the Exia! With the Destruction Ray still charging up again, the Guul continued it's relentless assault, opening more missile ports and firing upon the Daiku Maryu. Of course, that wasn't the end of it it seemed: the mouth of the Guul opened and began launching planes...planes that would simply attempt to kamikaze the giant space dragon! "Hmph. I see. Very well then, you will regret going up against Viscount Pygman!" he boasted, merely taking the shots to the chest but...not reacting at all. The wounds healed instantly, and even the holes in his suit patched up. "But if that's the best you can do, I shall leave you to my servants." he continued, returning to the mass of darkness. The ritual was almost done... And Miyuki would now have to deal with a Bear trying to maul her. The Taurus pulled back, leaving the Gran Kaiser embedded in the wall of the PHOTON Lab, and vulnerable for another charge. The blue machine was having trouble moving, and the fact it was leaking fluids through the giant hole in it's abdomen wasn't helping much either... But he needed to do something fast, the Taurus was already running at him in order to land the finishing blow...! "GRAVITON ARC!" Kouta roared out, sending the gravity beam out of the Gran Kaiser's forehead, it wasn't strong enough to destroy the bull but the armor was crushed in various places, and more importantly...the horn on was bent! "G-GLADIUS!" he cried out, calling for the combined support craft, and ordering it to drop a few bombs on the Taurus. He was still stuck, but he had other means to attack...! But the tide just wasn't in his favor: the Garuda and the Fangas showed up. He wouldn't be able to handle three Mechabeasts on his own...not in this condition, anyway. But he had to try. He had to stand firm, he had to hold on until they got the Photon Barrier working...! "JAN JA JAAAAAAAAAN! TO THE MILLIONS OF BOROT FANS WATCHING AT HOME! I HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED!" the voiced boomed...and Kouta would see the source: Boss Borot, with it's feet strapped to missiles in an attempt to fly! Of course, as the hunk of junk robot tried to attack the flying Mechabeasts...the ropes tying it's feet to the missiles came loose, sending them off in random directions...leaving Borot high in the air... With gravity immediately taking effect as it fell back towards the Earth. "...I'm fucked, aren't I?" Edited by Yosuke, Feb 20 2010, 08:03 AM.

Is that a fan in its middle!? Taiga exclaimed as it spun some massive blade in its chest while they approached. The wind kicked up, which at first didn't stop the King Zeronos, but then began to slow it down. "No way! That thing is stopping our attack!?" RYUUJI! LOOK AT THE ARM! Sure enough, the end of the drill had started to sizzle, as did the rest of the King Zeronos's armor. Whatever this blast was, it wasn't any mere wind! It was eating into their mech! Ryuuji kicked the massive robot into gear and dodged out of the way, frowning at the corroded and marred paint along the frontside of what was their train. "It won't let us get close enough to pierce it, and it deflects our shots from long range. What do we do?" For now, at least we can keep it from eating us alive. Shoot at it anyway! "Roger! King Zeronos took aim once more with the GigaZeroGasher, this time at the fan-like object in the core of the Jeiser and firing! |

The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)

(OOC: Protonic, photonic. I was trying to save your guy.) "Great.....now he's latched on. What is with these things chasing us?" SH said out of frustration as the Raynos performed a high-speed barrel roll with no effect. Loop-de-loops and downwards spirals also failed to dislodge. "Well, we just arrived. I suppose that since we are not piloting a human-based mech, the enemy considers us to be a more dangerous threat." Kyra answered, loading up on battlechips. "Fair enough. And judging from the instruments, it's attempting to merge. Can you repel it?" SH asked, noting that quite a few systems went offline as soon as the half-naked being clung on. "Attempting to now. I am also changing course, since we ended up shooting a bunch of cattle over by a farm." The Raynos turned to a U-turn, blasting off at Mach 2 to return over to the Photonics lab. "As I said earlier, this craft has a mind of it's own. So it's possible we ended up overpassing our target." With that, FireAura activated. To say the least, Kyra linked up with the Raynos to surround it with incredibly hot flames, flames that would boil metal into molten slag within seconds. The Raynos was unharmed by this sudden covering of flames (which should melt away the attachments and deal high damage to whatever touches it), zooming off to where the Photonics Lab was.
