Character Name: Arietta Blanc
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 134 lbs.
Description or Image of Character Appearance:

Tall and lanky, Arietta Blanc is taller than most girls at her age. She's rather graceful despite her size, however, able to twist and turn between people without missing a single step. Thin, rimmed glasses rest on her nose and a pair of diamond-bar earrings hang from her ears, a present from her parents when she was accepted into Crypton. Her hair is a light blond color, falling all the way to the middle of her back and her eyes are a brilliant shade of blue. Her frame is rather slim as well, with breasts that are best described as small. Besides her earrings, the only other ornamentation she has are a steel bracelet around her right wrist and a aquamarine ring around her left index finger.

Arietta is most often dressed in long skirts of varying soft colors (pink, yellow, light brown, etc.) and white blouses, preferring loose clothes to those that are skintight and restrictive. Despite her profession, Arietta doesn't particularly like formal clothes and rarely ever wears them unless she has to.

Occupation: Singer/Vocaloid Pilot
Grade Level: N/A
Alignment: Light. A pure heart must sing a pure song, right?
Powers/Abilities:

Spirit of the Song: Arietta has an unnatural skill at singing, capable of moving people's hearts and souls with just a few minutes of listening to her. Trained at a young age to be world famous (and eventually accomplishing it in her home world), she can even sing songs that she's never even seen or heard before. She claims that she knows every song from the heart and that it was taught to her by a goddess. She doesn't give out more information beyond that, though. She mostly uses this power to hold free performances at an open square or plaza in order to soothe people's hearts.

A lesser known impact of this power is her ability to pilot Vocaloids, singing robots from her homeworld that amplify sound waves in order to make them extremely destructive attacks. Not only can she 'enhance' her allies' combat potential with her music, but she can also deal devastating amounts of sonic damage against her enemies. This can only be done inside a Vocaloid, however, and outside of it Arietta's music is only pleasant to the ear (although with enough concentration she can summon up a portion of the power. Enough to dent walls, at least).

Equipment You Have:

VL2-MH=CK Miku Hatsune (Meistersängerin): The fully evolved version of Arietta's Vocaloid, the robot has gone through a couple of changes when Arietta was forcefully transferred into the Hyakuji world. Now capable of transforming from a fully-armored and armed unit of war to a small, human-sized android, the Miku Hatsune also has an AI that goes by the name of Chronicle Key (but answers to the name Miku Hachune). In android form, Miku Hatsune serves as Arietta's companion and friend. While she's a little awkward in this new, reduced form, Miku Hatsune is a helpful ally and can transform back to its full combat mode at a moment's notice, although this usually happens when the two aren't in a populated area in town (to minimize collateral damage). In combat mode, however, the Vocaloid is at least four times the size of a normal human, bristling with hidden cannons (in its sleeves, no less), swords, and remote-controlled daggers that are actually controlled by Arietta's voice. The energy drain required to use the combat mode is heavy, however, and is not used unless absolutely necessary.

Personality Description:

Arietta Blanc is usually a calm, collected person, who has a small smile on her face as she explores these new worlds that she's found herself in. She seems to have a found a good balance between analysis and emotion, thinking situations through but also relying on her gut instinct to give her clues that her brain may not. While she isn't standoffish, she won't be the one to make the first move in a confrontation and likes to let others do the talking for her, interrupting only when she believes they are clearly wrong (either about herself or the situation at hand).

Having been forcefully sent to this altered world however has worried her, especially about the state of her friends back at home. Despite wanting to help out others that are suffering in this world, her main goal is finding a way to return to her own world. As such, she'll try not to get too involved with other people, although she'll certainly lend her skills if the situation calls for it.

The only thing that really can get her angry are people who brag about their skills without any proof to back it up and those that squander their potential through laziness or self-doubt. As someone's who's worked extremely hard to become who she is today, she cannot abide those who don't try their utmost. Being insulted by one of these people (ex. being called a busybody or an overachiever), is an easy way to tick her off and she won't hesitate to either shout back or even get into fights. While her martial skills aren't top-notch, there is a reason why she can pilot a Vocaloid with such skill and it isn't just because of her singing voice.

Personal History:

Born in a world where the power of music can become a dangerous weapon, people who can manipulate and control this power are considered nothing less than living legends and gods. It isn't any singer that can become a Maestro, but one so skilled at the art that they need only a single word in order to invoke emotion in another person. The power of Maestros are coveted however, both as world treasures as well as tools of war and two secret organizations war for supremacy. One such organization, Crypton, attempts to protect and shelter the Maestros, making sure that the Maestros are not abused by those who wish to achieve absolute power. Arietta Blanc became a member of Crypton when she was 16, when her power suddenly manifested in a concert hall. It was only because of her pure heart that the hall itself didn't collapse on itself, managing to keep the destructive powers of her song at bay.

Trained and sheltered by Crypton for two years in order to learn how to fully control this new power that she now wielded, Arietta quickly improved as a singer. At the age of 18, she already could control every aspect of her songs, invoking the right emotions with just a slight change of tone and pitch. Given the full title of Maestro by the organization, Arietta thought she was finished with her training when one night, she heard a voice in her mind calling out to her. Following the voice's instructions, she found herself standing in front of a small cave that was located outside Crypton headquarters. Inside was the Vocaloid VL2-MH Miku Hatsune and she was told that this was her own Vocaloid to pilot as a reward and gift for her everlasting dedication and training.

She soon made herself a name in the outer world not only as a powerful singer, but a standing light of justice. She was considered the shining star in a rather bleak world, using her powers to protect the innocent and stop those who would take advantage of others weaker than themselves. During her journey, she made plenty of enemies however, and eventually these enemies launched an attack against her hometown. Previously having tried to recruit Arietta through bribes and other offers, they decided that they would instead destroy all that she held dear and render her so traumatized that she would never be able to sing again.

Luckily for her, however, she heard about the planned attack beforehand and managed to arrive at her hometown just in time to protect it from the approaching army. Singlehandedly she fought against them in her Vocaloid, using her powers to blast her enemies into dust. Hours passed and her voice became hoarse from singing and her Vocaloid was all but destroyed, the attrition taking its toll on both pilot and robot. It seemed like all was lost until the skies themselves had opened up and that same voice from before told her, "This is not your time, young one. Your spirit is strong, but your body is weakening...But we will not lose you now, nor will we let you suffer what no one ever should."

In an instant, her Vocaloid was fully repaired and upgraded, bristling with all new weapons (along with a sleek new aerodynamic form) as well as new songs inside its repository. Using these new weapons to their fullest, Arietta destroyed the rest of the invading army, using a new unlocked mode on her Vocaloid (Chronicle Key) in order to summon the light of judgment from the heavens itself. Exhausted, but victorious, Arietta left her hometown a hero. She supposedly headed towards Crypton headquarters, but never actually arrived.

Along the way, Arietta came across a strange black-hole portal floating in the air, sucking up anything that was near it and spitting out dark, unknown beings that quickly began to swarm towards her and her Vocaloid. Slightly panicking at this new threat, she attempted to use her ultimate attack to destroy them all in one fell swoop, but something went wrong. While she temporarily destroyed the invaders, she herself found herself sucked through the portal. Finding herself in a strange new world with the android-form of Miku Hatsune at her side, Arietta has no other choice but to find a way back to her own world and rid it of this new menace. She only hopes that she can return in time.

Character Name: Miku Hachune
Gender: Female?
Age: 1
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: Unknown (but at least 300 lbs.)
Description or Image of Character Appearance:

Posted Image
Occupation: Vocaloid/Android
Grade Level: N/A
Alignment: Neutral. While she follows Arietta's orders, she personally has no compunction to follow light or darkness. Her AI isn't advanced enough to fully comprehend the two, yet. Also -robo.
Powers/Abilities:

Sound Manipulation: Even in android form, Miku Hachune can perform subtle manipulations on sound waves, altering them for the purposes of fine-tuning Arietta's singing. While there are more sinister uses for this ability (such as altering the words of someone else or countering them entirely), Miku Hachune rarely does it and prefers to have more fun creating chiptune-like melodies that she hums as she walks alongside Arietta.

Equipment You Have:

Combat Leek: One of the 'weapons' that the Miku Hachune has is a steel rod that looks just like a leek, a callback to the first form of the Vocaloid that used an energy-charged version for most of its melee attacks. While it obviously can't use energy-type attacks in this form, the Combat Leek is still a powerful steel weapon and capable of quick, rapid strikes due to its lightweight nature. Around three feet in length, she uses it not only as a nice walking stick but also to beat off any people that might endanger herself or Arietta. It can transform into a makeshift microphone as well, complete with stand. It's a fairly useful utility tool.

Miniaturized Speakers: Hidden inside the Miku Hachune's shoulders are a pair of small speakers that can be used to amplify the power of Arietta's songs. Not actually capable of leveling cities, these speakers add a nice bit of oomph to allow Arietta's singing to rise above the normal hubbub.

Personality Description:

In contrast to Arietta Blanc, Miku Hachune (or the Chronicle Key AI) is rather childish in its demeanor. Being less than a year old (at least the process in the Miku Hachune is), the AI's #1 goal beyond serving Arietta is to accumulate as much data as possible. It has adapted a childlike persona for this endeavor, often running off to go explore unknown areas of the city (so different than back at home!) with Arietta chasing after her. She's eager to learn about everything that humans can do and mimics their behavior with at least 90% accuracy (the other 10% has to deal with her robotic nature and strength).

In combat mode, however, Miku Hachune is all business, carrying its duties to the fullest of its abilities. Smart and quick on the uptake, she doesn't waste any energy on frivolous measures while in combat. The extremes that this AI exhibits can appear to be surprising and a little unnerving to some people, but in the end Miku Hachune is simply very earnest about her job as well as her own experiences.
