just a reflection just a glimpse just a little reminder of all the what abouts and all the might have could have beens another day some other way but not another reason to continue and now you're one of us the wretched the hopes and prays the better days the far aways forget it... forget it... [World of Darkness: Aurora] Kurayami Fuzen strolled down the streets of Aurora as twilight had just given way to night. He had grown particular fond of this world. It was a world where, unbeknownst to humanity, vampires ruled much of the world pulling its strings from the shadows. If he wasn't so painfully aware of his damned origin he would wonder if this were meant to be his world. ![]() He had easily adapted into the undead's society within Aurora and had an acceptable status as a sort of visiting emissary. This granted him not only the rights to move freely in Aurora at night but also feed in specified areas to his heart's content. As such while his own plans kept him away in other worlds, Yami always frequented this world much like a diner when it was time to feed. Yami wasn't quite yet sure what he wanted. In truth, feeding had lost all its appeal since the loss of Namami. He'd wander for awhile enjoying the feel of the cool night's air and then just off some wandering drunk or something; it didn't matter anymore. And in truth, the only thing even holding his interest anymore was the plotting of Dai-Hellfire Club. Passing a small crowd of people they stared at Yami momentarily a bit longer than a simple gaze. The man, in full suit with a tie, hands in pockets, walking with an air of complete confidence seemed perfect in some manner. However, inside he felt only hate. Yami could've picked any of them to feed upon; it didn't matter. However, he wasn't ready yet. His mind was slowly tracing step by step over the Club's plan. This is all I can do, Yami thought to himself as a smirk worked across his face, Destroy. |

Shocking
|
"P-Please don't..." The voice was just a soft plea, but Yami's sharp ears would no doubt hear -- and more than likely recognize -- the trembling, stuttering, female tone. If he turned to look, he'd notice a group of five or so male men that were the same pale complexion of his own. Tall, thin, their willowy frames telling nothing of the iron strength harbored underneath. The group had formed a semi-circle around something that could barely be seen with their height. But as they shifted, chuckling as their prey cringed helpless against the wall, Yami would catch sight of long black hair, bright blue eyes, and a pair of glasses that had been bent on the nose of the small girl. Namami. The small thing was trembling back against the wall, a mouse surrounded by very hungry cats. Her mouth was working open and closed as the males gently caressed her cheek, her arm, stroked under her chin... then quickly slapped her across the cheek, tossing her already bent glasses off her face. The girl curled up against the wall, a gasp leaving her lips. "P-Please...Please, please don't... Sir," CRACK. He slapped her again and her hand flew to her cheek, her body turning away again. "I didn't... I just, I'm just looking f-for someone!" He'd be able to hear her heart pounding from afar, she was terrified. "Now listen, girl," One of the men muttered, drawing a cigarette from his lips and motioning to Namami as he spoke. "I don't give two shits who you're looking for. I don't care if it's your fucking daddy. All I know, is that you're here, we're here, you smell positively delicious and we're all hungry. And," the man inhaled deep on his cigarette and leaned toward the girl, his mouth curling into a Cheshire Cat grin, accented by fangs. He blew his smoke out in the girl's face and she closed her eyes, turning away and coughing. "As much as I'd be tickled to drag you kicking and screaming by your hair out of this place and to a nice room where we can enjoy you in peace... I think it's best if you just....went....to SLEEP!" His hand drew back and shot forward, slapping the girl so hard her head quite literally bounced against the brick wall behind her, instantly knocking her unconscious. Namami slumped to the ground, the strike coming too fast for her to even try to move away from or plead for him to stop. She had been trying for weeks to find him, trying every world she could get to but...but she couldn't ever find the man. He wouldn't come when she called. He was all but a ghost. If this was the end, she wanted it to go fast. The men gathered around her chuckled, seeming quite pleased with their catch. One bent down and scooped Namami up, tossing her limp form over his shoulder as they turned, pacing off while laughing between themselves. They had some very colorful plans, it seemed... |

Yami had turned on his heels almost instantly the second he heard the voice. Namami. His Namami. As he began to move towards the sound he shut his eyes momentarily and focused; Hiro's Magic sometimes made things all too easy. Projecting ahead he could see what was going on as it happened. Scum. Lowly vampire scum only recently embraced. The ignorant gang probably had no idea of the potential Namami held due to her powers. But above all else they had done unforgiveable things, things only Yami could do. They had know way to know this but in Yami's mind this didn't matter one bit. Yami approached the group just as they began to walk off packing Namami in tow, but they wouldn't get any further. One noticed Yami as he approached and mumbled something to the rest. Together they all snickered. Some business man with overly done up hair. The one that mumbled something would never bother repeating it again. He would never bother repeating it particularly because as Yami got closer he pulled forth his right hand from his pocket, snapped his fingers and in a flash the vampire that cracked a joke about him errupted in flames. It was too fast, too sudden, too out of nowhere for anyone to do anything. And not only this, the flames held the charge of magic and to the horror of the other four he was reduced to ash in moments. Yami didn't care. He didn't care if there was anyone around to see. If they were they'd flee like proper cattle. He didn't care about the town's Court. Or about their laws of secrecy and properly handling things between the undead. They were a bunch of children, in vampire-terms at least, and he was going to teach them a lesson. "Drop the girl," Yami growled with sheer hatred as he reached remaining four who were still in shock from the erruption of their friend, "Drop her immediately, walk away and forget you ever saw her or me. Or you can join your friend..." He wouldn't forgive them. There was no way out now. The moment their unworthy hands struck Namami's skin they had signed their own deaths. Even if they walked away now he would just dust them without their knowledge of it coming. |

Shocking
|
As the first vampire fell, the other four spun and their eyes shot wide with surprise and...fear? Perhaps. Their sire had told them of the laws, of the rules...of what they were and weren't allowed to do. And setting another vampire on fire in the middle of the street? That was a big no-no. Three of the vampires -- one holding Namami -- shifted behind their 'leader', all with their lips pulled back in thick frowns, eying the strange vampire very cautiously. Cocking his eyebrow and looking at the ashes of his fallen friend, the lead vampire scoffed and drew in another mouthful of smoke. "Tch... Man, you don't know what you did, do you? They're going to be ALL over you, man..." He shook his head and his lips spread in a cocky grin. He, like his friends, was still high on the new power of being a fledgling. Stupid power. Stupid children. Exhaling his smoke, he motioned over his shoulder at Namami. "Look, man, she's just in the wrong place at the wrong time, you know? It's not my fault you weren't here earlier and didn't grab her first. If I were you I'd haul my ass out of here lickity split, even though that's not going to be fast enough to avoid them at all." He grinned a shit eating grin and held his middle finger up to Yami. "Get fucked, brother." The vampire turned on his heel and laughed with his friends...His last mistake. |

The vampire had time to turn on his heel but before he could even lower his middle finger it was already over. Severed, the finger spun to the ground as the blood still within the vampire from previous feedings began to spurt forth. Yami was somehow now in front of them with the true visage of a maniac. Cackling wildly he mumbled some odd words they couldn't understand and suddenly grasped at the vampire's other arm which still had all its fingers. "Then it seems you too are in the wrong place at the wrong time," Yami said as he began to cackle madly with laughter. Squeezing hard at the vampire's arm the undead would feel a burning pain from the grasp, some form of Magic, and then a moment later find himself wrought with unmeasureable pain as Yami effortlessly removed the arm from the body tossing it aside with glee as a spray of blood splattered across his own face. Clearly now to those present Yami was not a vampire from their world. In their reality there was some rudimentary magic vampires could work with blood but the true supernal powers were held only by Mages and the source of their power rendered them immune to becoming embraced. Laughing more and more Yami opened his mouth wide licking around the edges of his lips at the blood covering it. He was a vampire, no doubt, but for the moment he seemed like the very definition of a demon. |

The leader didn't seem to understand what was happening as his finger suddenly disappeared and he was looking into the eyes of a madman. His fangs were bared and he was starting to lunge for the demonic man... when his arm was suddenly yanked free with a pain he simply didn't have words for. "What the FUCK, man!?" He cried out, griping what was left of his arm with what was left of his hand, back pedaling faster than his body could keep up with...almost. "Fuck you, man! I'm out of here!" He was still trying to be tough, trying to act like losing his arm and finger wasn't completely horrifying... acting as if as soon as he was a few blocks away he wouldn't scream and cry with pain and horror... He ran. The other three stood staring after him, mouths curved to horrified Os as they watched the scene. Not even the oldest vampires they had ever seen could do something like that... Two of them ran off without another word, but the one holding Namami gently set her down on the ground and nudged her unceremoniously closer to Yami, as if she were just a sack of dirt. "H-Hey, man," He murmured, his eyes wide with horror. "I was just...d-doin' what I was told, ya know?" He swallowed. "I didn't even want her." He gave the girl another hard nudge, leaving a boot print on her white shirt before he too turned tail and ran as fast as he could. |

Yami almost considered letting them go since they so quickly consented to drop Namami. However, the moment the one left a boot print upon her shirt that tore the matter apart. He was already downright irrational; any little thing might set him off. As the fleeing group reached the distance of a few buildings down the street they might begin to think they were free. However, as Yami crouched to check Namami carefully he mumbled a few words and the rest of the small gang errupted into flames like the first had. The small section of the city was now devoid of anyone save Yami, Namami and an unusual ammount of ashes strew down the street. "Namami?" He questioned softly as he pressed the back of his hand against her cheek letting its chill touch contrast against her warm skin, "You're stronger than what they did. Wake up, it's me. Yami." He let his words reach inside her head and slightly nudge her mind pushing it towards consciousness. He only had one condition when she had decided to leave his side all those months ago. To keep safe and find happiness. Finding her here like this now he knew she'd failed both. A part of him was angry at her but despite the frenzy moments ago he managed to hold it back for now; at least until he knew she was alright. |

Shocking
|
She had been spending her days in Traverse Town, mostly. There she had made a few friends, she had managed to hone her skills a little better, learning to heal small wounds on others if she concentrated hard enough. She was needed there, helping those who survived attacks... But one by one, they all ventured on. Found friends, found new places to live, new worlds to inhabit... They were always leaving and she was always so...stuck. The girl had little meaning in life, really. Or none that she could see. Many nights she sat up just...just staring at her door. Somehow thinking that it'd open -- or that it wouldn't -- and that shadow would creep in, curl up beside her, and put his iron body against hers. Smooth her hair, kiss her temple, murmur and ask her how she had been. If she had been good. But he never came. It became maddening. Namami had once been content with her life having not much happening. She was fine with school and learning and living as a normal child her age....But then he appeared. Since then nothing felt right. Nothing felt better than when she was at his side. She had meaning. She had purpose. She had a use. Even if that use was often painful. Leaving him had been a huge mistake, and she had found that out over time. She looked for him, called for him, searched high and low and found no trace of him. Hide nor hair... So she came here. She came to this world infested with the very creature she was looking for. A needle in a haystack... But maybe, just maybe she'd find him here-- "Namami?" Maybe he'd find her. Maybe she could beg and apologize and he'd let her be his assistant again, maybe he'd-- "You're stronger than what they did. Wake up, it's me." Give her life meaning again. Maybe he'd say that he loved her again. Maybe... Maybe... "Yami." His words vibrated in her mind, stirring her and opening her eyes slowly. Everything was a blur from the knock on the head and the loss of her glasses... It must be a dream, it must. "Yami...?" Her voice was soft, timid, and her eyes were welling with tears made from hope and pain. Her head was throbbing. "Are...Yami? Y-Yami..? Really?" She groped at him, trying to pull her body closer, feeling her limbs move without knowing she was moving them really. "I'm sorry..." She choked, burying her face in his neck. |

"Here," Yami spoke softly in a loving tone as he poofed her glasses to his hands and placed them back on her face gently before he buried herself against him. He was furious but that could wait a moment. Gently, he wrapped his arms around Namami embracing her totally. None could tell how much time passed but as it wore on the world around them seemed to vanish. Yami mumbled a few things quietly and then they were gone. [Dai-Hellfire Club's Tower: Yami's Chamber] Suddenly they'd appeared now standing in the center of a large lavish chamber much like the king's in a castle. The fireplace was already lit and its flicker illumnated in a dim glow the large bed at the back of the room. Littered around the rest of the room were various bookshelves holding a myriad of old looking books. Letting go of Namami for the first time since she'd awakened he stared into her eyes gently; studying every detail of her visage. Gently he pressed against her but not in an embrace he was pushing her back. This continued slowly as he began to speak in an angered tone, "What the hell did you think you were doing, Namami? Do you remember what you promised me? You know what your powers are. Why in the hell would you wander around a city teeming with vampires?!" At this point he'd backed her up against the wall leaving her trapped between it and his own body. Frowning in frustration Yami pulled back his right hand and slapped Namami hard across the face; it wasn't the first time and it wouldn't be the last. It was always one extreme or the other for how Yami would treat her. Currently, it had to be the less desireable of the two. "Answer me!" He bellowed in a commanding tone as his eyes locked on hers with an almost hypnotic gaze forcing up the truth out of her whether she wished to speak it or not. |

When she was placed on her feet, they trembled like a newborn deer's. She held his shirt for support, but soon found her body being nudged backward. "Yami... I missed you so much..." She murmured as he looked down at her, a tiny smile on her lips. They parted again, but she gasped as she felt her back hit the wall. Turning her head a little she looked behind her, as if not believing she was trapped... then slowly back up to the vampire. Her face paled as he raised his voice. "Yami...I-I'm sorry! I ju-- Nnn!" She gasped as she was slapped for at least the tenth time that day, her head turning down and tears welling in her eyes. The girl turned her eyes back up to him and whimpered, her lower lip shaking. "I... I know it was stupid... But I looked for you everywhere else, Yami... I-I just wanted to find you... I wanted to be w-with you..." She lowered her eyes and whimpered, tears rolling down her cheeks. "I'm sorry...I didn't want to be without you anymore...P-please, can I stay..?" |

"SHUT UP!" Yami boomed over her mumbling words. It was so annoying. She'd chosen this and she couldn't even look at him confidently and explain herself. Instead she danced around all over the place with her words and then finally tried to beg. His lips curled in anger and exhaling almost in a growl he drew back the hand he'd struck her with and grasped Namami hard at her perfect little neck. His grip clenched around it tightly as he squeezed with considerable force well knowing she could handle it. "Speak clearly when you answer me," He ordered loudly shouting with no concern if anyone in the Tower might hear, "Why did you change your mind? Did you really think when you found me you could just say you're sorry and that be the end of it?" Yami was so furious and perhaps, if he hadn't so calculatingly prepared for this day, he would've exerted too much force and accidentally ended the young girl there on the spot. It had been an inevitable day. Yami had known that the very day after the Heartless had appeared when Namami parted ways with him in Aurora's Subway terminal. However, he wanted her to figure out for herself. Or even better perhaps he could've been wrong and Namami would find an escape from his clutches for good. |

The girl gasped and cried out softly, her body squirming as he held her by the throat. Her hands trembled and gripped his wrist, knowing that fighting did no good, it'd just make him more angry... Just make him hurt her more. She swallowed hard and looked up at him, tears still in her eyes. Even when he scared her like this, even when his rage was at its peak, she knew he wouldn't hurt her too much, knew he wouldn't kill her. He cared about her, he loved her... He just had misplaced anger, and a lot of it. "If you... d-don't want me anymore...kill me, please, Yami?" She whimpered a little and swallowed, struggling again for breath. "I don't... k-know what to do without you..."There was a huge amount of sincerity in her voice, and slowly, her hands fell away from his wrist. "I don't... have... A-Anything...I'm not... anything..." She swallowed and licked her lips, staring up at him with wide eyes. "...without you." |

"Ffft," Yami scoffed at her words, angered she was still stuttering, as he grumbled in annoyance and tightened his grasp now lifting her small body from the ground and raising it up along the wall. She had asked to die? It was a wish he could grant in seconds. Consumed with his own rage Yami shoutedly loudly and then tore his hand from her pale throat letting her drop to the ground on her own as he turned and began to pace away. "Before," Yami began in a furious tone, "You did nothing but try to get out of being my Assistant. Even going so far as to work in league with that fucking Mage! Now you want it or if not you ask me for death!? What changed your mind? What did you learn since we parted ways? Answer me, Namami..." With the last few sentences his tone began to soften some the anger dripping sentiments slowly lightening to a tone of pure interest and concern. She owed him this much, an explination of where she'd been and why she had changed her mind. This was an unexpected occurrence in his plan. He'd only lightly begun to consider it but having Namami present might drastically change some of his plans; he'd need to think it over once he had the time. |

The girl's toes curled inside her shoes as she was pushed up the wall. Maybe... maybe he was going to kill her? She shut her eyes, content with the notion. Oh how quickly her own life had become meaningless to her... There was a soft thump as the girl crippled suddenly down to her feet and then the floor, coughing and gasping for air, her fingers lightly touching the bruises on her throat... even as they quickly faded back to the normal pale color. Watching as the man paced angrily away, she remained still, crumpled there on the ground, watching him silently. "I...I know, Yami. I was scared... I was so scared of you," She paused and changed her answer. "I'm STILL scared of you, when you get like this... But I... I have nothing. I don't even have school now. No family, no real friends... there are a few I talked to but they've been scattered and I rarely run into them... Yami... I was stupid." She closed her eyes and lowered her head. "I don't want to be alone, Yami... and... And I don't think that you do either..." She lifted her eyes to his back and bit her lower lip. |

Yami nodded slowly as he paced back and forth before her as she spilled out her heart. On one level it was insulting; she had nothing else so she wanted him. However, this was only Yami's own rage coloring the entire situation that certain way and blinding out any other factors. "You think I don't want to be alone?" Yami questioned inquisitvely, she felt she could wager a theory at his own feelings, "Explain what you mean, Namami. I scare you so and yet you seem to think all this time apart has made you understand me better in some way. Answer!" His voice boomed loudly with this final one word command. Much of his deepest rage had now filtered away finding his curiosity peaked by Namami's words of understanding. He wanted to know now. What she thought he was thinking, what she thought he was feeling, it was going to be quite interesting. |
