And that was that. Star let out a sigh of relief as the Pot Centipede and its minions was beaten back, letting them continue forward. The more she thought about it, though, the more she thought that relief was clearly the wrong thing to feel. Since they were allowed to press on, that meant that they were allowed to get themselves into more danger. But she had refused to turn back in the beginning and Star had to much pride to go back on that now.

Besides, they were doing pretty well so far.

Star followed Nine and the others down towards the chamber, a frown on her face as she saw the water. It wasn't as if Star was a bad swimmer. She was pretty good--not as good as Meglumar--but then again, she wasn't half-water nymph. It wasn't the swimming that made her nervous, it was the idea of being both underground and underwater. She focused light into her hands, forming a small orb that shone outwards. It wasn't solid, but it would provide her with enough light to see. She nodded towards Meglumar.

"I'm fine with the swimming," she said to Nine with a smile as her Arcadia uniform disappeared and was replaced with her regular clothes. They wouldn't weigh her down quite so much. She waited for the others to begin, the light dimming in intensity. She would put more into it once she was underwater, but even if it wasn't taking up as much power as it would have if it were solid, she didn't want to waste anything.

Meglumar was excited. Water to swim in.

Meglumar was by no means a SUPERhuman swimmer. Oh heavens no, he was part human. But this did not mean he was a BAD swimmer. He loved swimming, and could do so very well. He too changed back to his normal clothing, a small smile visible on his face. "Swimming is perfectly acceptable to me." He said, as he stretched out and slowly waded into the water.

Star was capable of illuminating the paths ahead, and Lavender said that the coast seemed to be clear. He hoped this wasn't a trap, but even if it wasn't, it was time in the water. This alone would make it almost worth whatever pain would come from a trap.

Almost.

Pity. He really wanted to consume that heart if it contains such raw darkness hidden within it. As soon as he swallowed all the hairballs that he was about to fire (he never got to attack the head), he drained what remained of the black mist in the room, converting it into purified energy in his stomach.

Following the group down the passageway and stairs, clicking pictures here and there for recon purposes, he stopped short of the dark passage with a blank look on his normally perplexed face. Water. Dark, cold water. What was worse is that those humans were going into the water, even though there was a 90% chance the Heartless would be in there with them, in smaller and more agile swimming bodies.

There was a high chance the humans and the Nobody would be slaughtered if they go into the water without illuminating it first, and the Keyblades would be less effective as a result. Tango also wondered what kind of report No. 9 was receiving since he didn't seem to be carrying any notes or letters, not even a logbook. Either another member of the organization was nearby, or his minions (whom he did yet to see) were communicating with him somehow.

One more thing, he could swim, but he was basically a active toaster attached eternally to a electric socket. The water in the corridor was the bathtub. As soon as he went in to cat-paddle, the passage would be electrified with high voltage. Not a good sign, yet luckily there was some room to spare.

With a quick bounding leap and climb up the clothing (without claws of course), he went to the closest person who seemed to keep herself upstraight and not diving in. Namely, Lavender, whom he sat on top of her head so she wouldn't knock him off right off the bat. She looked innocent enough, hopefully she wouldn't think of throwing a poor, defenseless rare-breed cat virus into the cold water.

As the group reaches the water-filled area, R Spectrum swallows hard. Dimensionalization has been known to fail when the Navi in question is submerged in real-world water. That said, Spectrum currently has an Aqua-type Style Change equipped, and Aqua-types are innately attuned to water.

Netto also stops at the water's edge, sticking one hand in.

Netto: Cold...not surprising. How far does this water go? I don't think I can hold my breath for more than a minute...and even that's stretching it. Plus, there could easily be traps down there.
He pauses for a moment.
Netto: I'm staying behind for a bit. I've got an idea on how to get myself and Randy past this obstacle, easily, in fact, but I require a bit of time to get prepared.
D Spectrum raises an eyebrow at Netto.
Netto: It requires another bout of fusion, and I can only fuse with my Navi every so often. Also, it will only work for myself and Randy--I can't bring anyone else along.
D Spectrum: What about Tango? He's small enough, right?
Netto: ...okay, maybe Tango, but that would be it. OH! Before I forget, you there! The photomancer!
Netto gestures to Star.
Netto: You may want this--consider it a portable source of sunlight.
He flips his GunDelSol2 upright in his hand, and offers it to her.

If Nine was annoyed with the doubts some of them had in entering the flooded corridor, he didn’t show – or rather, he couldn’t, not with his hood cover his face in perpetual darkness. So he simply nodded at Netto and Randy before he joined the rest. “Just don’t do anything stupid, the last thing we need is more traps to be activated, like just now.” Nine said without facing them, reminding the two’s mistake earlier of disturbing the Phantom Haniwas.

The water was certainly cold, but it was nothing Nine couldn’t handle himself; he remembered he Arctic waters being colder than this. Still, he couldn’t say for the others but he hoped none of them caught a cold or something like that.

Swimming down the corridor, our tomb raiders should notice the constant dripping of water from the ceiling which continually fed the flood waters and an explanation how the corridor was flooded in the first place. Like the previous two corridors they went through, this too was a simple straight one and in the distance, one can see a dim, suffused light.

They’re halfway there, but beware, below the surface, the once smooth floor were now littered with potholes, and all it it’ll take is one wrong step and they’d fine themselves in a hole they won’t climb out.

OOC

We're almost there, one last area and obstacle after this and the event is over.

The water was cold, that was for certain - and Lavender could feel it even through the weather-resistant fabric of her Arcadian field uniform, the chills immediately bringing back memories of her GLADIUS training exercises in the North Sea during mid-Winter. Of course, the cold water inside the underground chamber were nothing compared to that. The feeling of the weight of another body latching onto her snapped the aeromancer out of her reminiscence and back to reality.

Lavender raised an eyebrow as she noticed that Tango was now resting on the top of her head, chuckling slightly. "You're a cat after all," the aeromancer giggled, knowing the behavior of cats only too well - save for tigers, felines are known for their aversion to water, and Tango was no exception. "All right, I'll see what I can do to keep my head above the water," Lavender didn't know if Tango understood what she was saying, but since she was a little girl Lavender had a thing for talking to animals whenever she felt alone or bored.

“Just don’t do anything stupid, the last thing we need is more traps to be activated, like just now.” Nine added.

"I'll lead the way then; Nine, cover me; Star, provide us with some illumination," Lavender delegated tactical roles for the group as she swam through the water, keeping her head above the water surface, although that still didn't keep Tango completely dry as drops of water constantly fell from the ceiling, apparently feeding the water below and accounting for the flooded chamber. There was nothing untoward about this corridor, save for the light at the end, which Lavender forged her way towards.

Star blinked at Netto for a moment before picking up the gun. It felt weird in her hand--besides light, Star had never held an actual weapon before--but she realized that it would be useful in the long run. As an afterthought, she reformed her Arcadia uniform again. She was only one step into the water, but even she could tell it was freezing. She removed her cloak and tossed it to Meglumar with a small grin. She was a pretty good swimmer, but Meglumar was much better, and she knew that he'd be less likely to be weighed down by the fabric of that cloak.

"Got that, boss," she said, tucking Netto's gun into her belt with her free hand. Her left--it was a good thing she was left-handed. When she was sure it was secure, she took a deep breath and plunged into the water.

Star broke the surface and gasped for breath. "C-C-C-Cold!" she said, her teeth chattering. She had jumped into cold water before, but it wasn't really a pleasant experience. Star swallowed, thought back to the times she had jumped into freezing water as a child, and clamped her jaws shut as she held the light above the water, treading water clumsily with her free hand as she followed after Lavender and the others.

Netto nods back at the rest of the group as, one-by-one, they dive into the water.
Netto: Nothing to do now but wait.
D Spectrum: Shouldn't be much longer.
Netto: Randy, ready PopUp. We're digging our way through.
Randy: Ah! Not a bad idea...and it just so happens that I've already got PopUp inserted!
Netto: Oh, excellent! Then we can head out as soon as Spectrum's able to fuse with me again.
R and D Spectrum both nod.
Netto: ...say...wasn't I holding Tango a moment ago?
The Narrator: No, you never actually grabbed him. And if you had, he would probably have electrocuted you on contact.
Netto: Oh. Huh. Wait, who said that?!
The Narrator: You heard nothing! *throws smokeball*
Netto: ...must've been my imagination.

Netto's Custom: FULL

Meglumar caught Star's cloak as she continued into the water. He guessed she was entrusting this to him for the moment. Well, no problem then. He put it on himself, continuing into the water. The water was cold, much colder than the waters of his home. But it was water

And for a water nymph that was all that mattered.

He willingly moved into the water, moving along with the others at a relaxed pace. This was heaven. A cold heaven, but heaven regardless. Heading toward the light, he span in the water, a wide smile on his face.

So far, so good it seemed, Dragon form allowed him to adapt to the water easily and at the same time it spared him from the cold. As such, Kouta continued unhindered, swimming through the water with ease. Well, another thing he learned about this mysterious belt, he figured. Either way, not much to do other than swim and prevent himself from sinking...

"Meow." (Stupid, me? I assure you that as a Oncilla Nekomata Trojan Virus, I will never harm a human lady.) Tango chuckled, glad that the girl wasn't going to throw him into the water and electrocute them all into piles of melted, deep-fried flesh. Being cautious, only a few zaps of voltage were required to vaporize the drops coming down on his fur, since he would need to be sprayed with a hose worth of water to be absolutely dangerous.

He noticed that Netto and Randy had already stayed behind, and grinned somewhat evilly. No doubt they were planning to drown Number 9 a bit later, to hold him down below with his backside touching the ground and punch at his chest. A Nobody is but a human without a heart after all, their physical anatomy would still require lungs to breathe. And a ribcage to hold the vital organs, of course.

If Tango had fingers, he'd give them the thumbs up in approval, since Number 9's usefulness was about to come to a startling end once they encounter the World Heart. After all, it isn't like there was a backdoor exit that the group could go through, all of them would have to head back the way they came in. Since the Nobodies believe that there were plenty of Keybladers to do their dirty work, Number 9 could easily betray the group so he could go through a Dark Corridor and let the struture of the ruins collapse around them. Not if he could help it.

He noticed that Netto and Randy had already went under the water, and grinned somewhat evilly.
OoC: Hum...what? No they didn't. They stayed behind, and are planning to use PopUp to tunnel through the walls and ceiling, bypassing the water entirely. o.O

If Netto and Randy tries to dig through the glowing alien stone walls, they would find that the rocks would be impenetrable to dig through: if Tango using the Volcano chip earlier didn’t melt the floor, then physical damage such as digging through it would be just as useless. Who or whatever made these stones, it wasn’t something one can find on Earth here.

Meanwhile, the group would finally reach the end of the flooded corridor. Nine found the first step of the flight of stairs up and slowly climbed out of it, his black cloak surprisingly doesn’t look like it has gone anywhere in the water at all.

When everyone finally got out of the flooded corridor and climbs up the steps, they would find themselves in a more natural looking cave, with a forest of bamboo growing around them and glowing crystals studding out of rocky outcrops.

And in the middle of the cave, surrounded by a pool of water, was a glowing crystal pillar, where a shadow of someone can be barely seen held suspended inside.

“This is it, the burial chamber.” Nine said after a quick study of the place. “The keyhole to the World Heart is somewhere here. The report I got says they couldn’t find it before they had to leave. Look around, see if any of you can spot it, but don’t disturb the dead, whoever it is.”

“Don’t you think it’s a little too late for that?”

From the thicket of bamboo trees on one side of the cave, a girl with rabbit ears and red eyes stepped out into the open, dragging behind her what seems to be a wooden hammer. “You dare to trespass my mistress’s resting place? Mortals, my wrath knows no bound! Whatever reasons you may have, you shall never leave this place. As a Lunar Rabbit, Guardian of Lady Kaguya, I will make sure of it, or my name is not Tei Inaba of the Moon! Karotte Flier!

Swinging her hammer forward, several carrot like objects numbering to like twenty then materialized in front of her at her command, and all pointing straight at our tomb raiders. She then swings her hammer in an arc at the floating carrots and they were suddenly launched towards our tomb raides like bullets!

"Meow." (INSOLENT GIRL!) Roared Tango, once Lavender and co. reached the cave with Nine. He was scanning the room for any form of energy signature before the bunny girl came in and spoiled his fun. A single electric hairball obliterated the carrot-like projectile before it even came close to harming a hair on the girl's head. As for the other carrot things.....not his problem.

Making certain to reduce the weight, Tango plopped down, his eyes filled with sinister intentions towards Tei. Walking forward in a smooth, relaxed fashion of being cocky, he grinned ferally with gleaming white fangs. "Meow." (You may be a Moon Rabbit, but if you have been observing these humans through the eyes of those statues and still attack them, you are nothing more than six-week old garbage in my eyes. Heck, they have come here to keep the Heartless from reaching you. For you to protect the World Heart awhile attacking those who are friendly is absurd, and to attack a defenseless girl that held me from getting wet is even worse! And for calling me a mortal, I will pass judgment upon you for that, nutty bunny!)

The walk became a sprint, then a full-out run towards Tei on the alien stone floor. And then came the mighty cat pounce, his legs pushing Tango off the ground with all razor-sharp claws unretracted and fangs opened wide to shred and slice. The target? Tei's purple skirt. Why? It has the lowest risk of being defended with the hammer, and because Tango is somewhat weird about girls. Must be the red string that attracted him the most.

And finally, they were past the flooded corridor. Lavender summoned a blast of compressed air to blow-dry herself after wading out of the water and onto dry land, doing the same to the others as soon as they stepped out as well - it wouldn't dry them off completely, but at least they'd get dry more quickly - being just somewhat damp instead of soaking wet. "All right, let's go," Lavender commented as she ascended the flight of steps after Nine; strangely enough for the Nobody, his coat remained strangely dry, as if he never got wet to begin with.

"Wow..." Lavender gasped at the sight that lay before her as she reached the top of the stairs. While previously they had been spelunking through a series of catacombs with sculpted stone walls, this chamber was a more natural-looking cave, lit by formations of crystals protruding from rocky outcrops. More amazing though is the fact that despite being so far underground with no sunlight, there was a bamboo forest. The aeromancer guessed that the light from the crystals must be what allowed the bamboo to grow.

"I guess this must be what we came for," Lavender mused as her glance went to the middle of the cave; there sat a pool of water, and rising out of the center of the pool was a large crystal pillar. To Lavender's amazement, she could make out the silhouette of a person within, entombed inside the crystal like an insect inside amber.

“This is it, the burial chamber.” Nine said after a quick study of the place. “The keyhole to the World Heart is somewhere here. The report I got says they couldn’t find it before they had to leave. Look around, see if any of you can spot it, but don’t disturb the dead, whoever it is.” Lavender nodded, although her attention was distracted by one of the glowing crystals. The ALPHA Labs researchers would love to get their hands on a sample of this, Lavender thought. A pity she didn't bring a camera along.

“Don’t you think it’s a little too late for that?” A girl's voice called out from one end of the cave. Looking up, Lavender watched as a black-haired girl with rabbit ears on her head stepped out into the open from amongst the bamboo, armed with what appeared to be a wooden mallet - it didn't look like she played polo down here; was it a mallet used for pounding rice in the process of making rice cakes? Lavender could only wonder, then the girl spoke again. Karotte Flier!”

A mass of carrot-like objects appeared before Tei, and with a swing of her hammer she sent them flying at the group of tomb raiders like projectiles! "Everyone, behind me - now!" Lavender shouted as she crossed her arms and created her telekinetic barrier, the projectiles impacting against the spherical shield of force and light.

"We didn't mean to intrude," Lavender replied. "This world is in danger from the invading Heartless, and we came here seeking the World Heart to stop the Heartless onslaught." Although Lavender assumed what the bunny girl said about facing her wrath regardless of their reasons for being here could be taken at face value, it still never hurts to be diplomatic.

"However, if you attack us we will defend ourselves," Lavender warned.
