Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: Edward N. Nymn Gender: Male Age: 16 Height: 6’ (Six Feet) Weight: 165 Lbs Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() Occupation: Student Grade Level: 2nd Year Powers/ Abilities: The Gift: Dangerous Visions: The Dangerous Visions ability allow Edward to see through the eyes of people who are under a heavy amount of stress or pain, thus giving him the opportunity to give the person aid. Edward cannot feel the pain of the people he’s seeing through, but there are a couple of downsides to his ability. For instance, the visions through the stress/pain are only in black and white, not allowing any detail of color to come through the eyes. Another downfall is that on very rare occasions, Edward will see into the nightmares of people if their bodies are under enough stress, hence making some of his visions false. The Curse: Insomnia: The visions of the suffering often come when Edward is asleep, prematurely waking him up in the middle of the night with varying effects on his body when he wakes up. However, the heaviest effect on his body is a loss of sleep, a side effect he’s found no method of getting rid of. Sometimes is comes in consistent nights, losing X number of days of sleep. Equipment You Have: Aside from standard school supplies, nothing. Residency Request: Yuki Schedule: Homeroom: Hiro 1st: Supernatural Studies 2nd: Gym LUNCH 3rd: Art Personality Description: Edward N. Nymn is the typical ‘quiet kid’, not quite mainstream when it comes to a conversation and his voice often goes unheard. This is not to say that Edward is completely unfriendly, he will flash a soft smile and wave slightly when greeted from afar, or even say hello once in a while when he’s close with somebody. However, one downfall to Edward’s shy nature is that it’s hard for him to open up to people, hard to communicate about problems or to make himself heard in a conversation. Edward also usually has his nose in a book, varying from an Ian Fleming Novel to anything by Anne Rice. Outside of the social norm, Edward can be a bit of a dark personality, lacking the proper self motivation most normal kids have and sacrificing his needs to help others. As much as he would want something for himself, he sometimes feels that normal things such as relationships, dating, romances of any sort really have no place in his life. Edward holds no real grudges or hatred for other people, making him somewhat of a pushover. Personal History: Edward N. Nymn was born in the back of a taxi cab in Palm Beach, Florida during a spring break vacation. His mother, being only a seventeen year old senior in high school, ultimately gave him up for adoption and eventually moved him over to London, England. Edward stuck out in London because he never ever developed a English accent but instead spoke like an American. Edward mostly lived an uneventful life, until he started having visions of people suffering at the age on nine. Nothing supposedly triggered the flash, but the first occurrence took place in his classroom, and immediately caused him to throw up all over his desk. The first vision he ever had of somebody in pain was a woman who was being attacked by what looked like an extraterrestrial being, an alien. Edward never knew anybody in his circle of friends or family member that had supernatural tendencies or even superpowers, but Edward was curious to find out more about such things. Edward never joined any sports teams in high school or any other type of extracurricular groups, but instead focused mostly on his schoolwork, which was pretty good consistently over a span of four years. Up until now, of course, when he convinced his parents to travel overseas to Japan to study at a school for the gifted students. Edward, with the help of his parents, learned Japanese before traveling to Shinya, Japan. RP Sample: Edward sat quietly in Row 13, Seat E, occasionally looking out the window of the plane over the dark clouds below. It wasn’t raining or anything, but the nighttime sky definitely reflected on the clouds below. The engine outside of the plane could be heard easily by Edward, but not so much by the other passengers inside the plane due to the fact that most of them have fallen asleep a few hours ago. Edward had an overhead light on as he read Blood and Gold, a novel by Anne Rice. So far it was an easy read for Edward, the pages passing by rather easily. However, Edward suddenly became timid and stiff when suddenly the tunnel vision effect came over him, and his sight became black and white, indicating that he was seeing through the eyes of the suffering at this point. The vision showed black clouds of smoke and the faint appearance of fire inside the cockpit of a plane that was shortly ripped off, exposing the outside of the plane as it dove downwards into a rocky mountain range. On impact, the plane was engulfed in flames as well as ripped in half. Within that second of impact, Edward was suddenly shot out of the vision and brought back to his book, which didn’t seem as interesting to him now as much as his current vision. Quickly setting the bookmark into his book, he pulled out the notebook he had in his carry on bag and quickly began writing. However, Edward stopped short when he turned to his left and noticed a man on the other side of the aisle panting in what looked like a cold sweat. Edward, puzzled by this sudden reaction, called out to the man to see if he was okay. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you. Flying just scares me sometimes.” Apologizing for intruding, Edward went back to his notebook, still puzzled by the sudden realization. A question drew into Edward’s mind, ‘Do I believe my visions like I should, or should I question them?’ I WANT TO BELIEVE was all he wrote down. Mashed Potatoes? There Is No Spoon. |
